Our other thread is now full so thought I would start this one to continue the chat.

@Beaglemum91 I'm waiting for my period so I can start meds for FET so that is really helpful information about the embryo transfer process. Thank you. Did you have your partner on Facetime or anything for it?

@Icsi2021 so excited for you xxx

@Hoping4baby21 thankyou!
@kittyfantastico21 yes will come round quick I’m on x5 of proganova to thicken my lining which I’m nervous about. Confirmed yesterday my lining was below 7mm on Day 16 even though I was told it was 7.4mm so hoping it makes a difference this time.

Clapham4 · 14/07/2021 16:46

So the first injection was okay!😬 I’m a wimp at the best of times and I managed to do it without too much fuss. DH will do tonight’s one though while I look away😂

@Francesmalin I hope you got some reassurance that you’ve just been very unlucky and next time should be fine 🤞🏼 Xx

@Becky105 yay for you starting! You’ll only be a week or so behind me then 🤗

How’s everyone else doing? I’m having a mare with work, we’ve recently gone through a merger and the new owners are very involved and want lots of socials to get to know eachother. I’m normally the first one at a free drinks event 😂 but I must be coming across so anti social as I’m declining every invite coming my way🙄

Hoping4baby21 · 14/07/2021 16:52

@Hopeful1234567 I thought minimum was 7mm but I guess the thicker the better! When do they think you will transfer them?

@kittyfantastico21 I'm sure you will be fine and if anything then they would switch to a protocol like mine. Also my ache was not related to the follicle so that probably isn't it. It was on the complete other side. I have been using OPK they already seem quite dark already not positive but not as light as they usually are on day5. I don't know what my lining can do in 3 days considering I just stopped bleeding today 🤦🏽‍♀️. I'm mentally preparing to miss the ovulation over the weekend. Jeez

@Becky105 glad you've got a start date! 🎉🎉

kittyfantastico21 · 14/07/2021 17:17

@Becky105 yay, great to hear you'll be starting so soon! Good luck!

@Hopeful1234567 fingers crossed the extra progynova will make a good difference for you this time.

@Clapham4 well done on getting the first injection over with! I'm sure the next ones will be less scary and you'll get used to them soon now that you know what to expect.

@Hoping4baby21 Hopefully the progynova will be kicking in and suppressing your ovulation and your scan on Friday will provide some reassurance. At least it's not too long to wait now to find out what's going on. I really hope my ovaries are behaving themselves so I can go ahead with the medicated FET as normal. I've never used OPKs as we've obviously never tried naturally! Are they difficult to use/interpret? I'm worried I'll mess it up if I have to track myself.

Hoping4baby21 · 14/07/2021 19:33

@kittyfantastico21 they can be depending on the brand. I needed to use a different brand to what I started with because the difference in lines was not obvious enough. I use wondfo you can get them on Amazon. You just pee on the stick a few times a day (once you get into the swing of it you can do it less because you will know when it is coming) better to do it around midday -4pm. But every body is different. The dot annoying part is trying not to drink too much so your pee isn't too diluted!

I've done an OPK today and it isn't positive but it is also darker than it usually is at this stage. Makes sense because follicle is bigger at this point than it should be. So this is gunna be interesting. I'm mentally preparing for them to cancel my cycle because my surge is usually quick usually day before I see it rising the next day blazing positive. So I just don't see how I'll make it to Monday without ovulating. But I've only just stopped bleeding so surely by Friday my lining won't be thick enough! It would be a miracle. I usually feel ovulation pain a few days before and it isn't quite there may be a little so I'm not sure the progynova is suppressing much at all 🤦🏽‍♀️

Image is my OPK today.

Hoping4baby21 · 15/07/2021 17:05

Hey everyone as expected my OPKs have gotten darker and I would say it is a smidge lighter than the control so fairly certain my LH surfer was today around 1pm -2pm. I called the clinic and they said because I have the OPK and a fairly good idea of when the surge took place if my lining is also thick enough they can plan treatment around that. But I mean I stopped bleeding only 2 days ago how could it possible be thick enough at this point. So in my mind cycle will be cancelled and I'm preparing for that. Anything else is a bonus. What a roller coaster! I've never ovulated this early before my last cycle was normal 28 days.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

kittyfantastico21 · 15/07/2021 17:17

@Hoping4baby21 that does seem very early, but it's a really good thing that you have a scan tomorrow so they can find out what's happening. I'll be thinking of you and crossing my fingers for good news! I suppose one upside of ovulating early might be that at least if the cycle is cancelled you won't have to wait too long until the next one?

Thanks for explaining how the OPKs work and recommending a brand, that's really helpful. I'm still hoping I won't need them though. My ovary ache has definitely gone away, yay! I know your ache was unrelated to your follicle but the ache disappearing has made me feel a bit better about how things might be going in there. It's been a crazy busy day at work but at least that's made the time go quickly and it's not too long to wait for my scan now. I'm weirdly looking forward to it?!

Hoping4baby21 · 15/07/2021 17:24

@kittyfantastico21 haha yes I did think of that! It will mean a period in 15 days ish! I can't be made about that I suppose.

Glad it was helpful! Glad the ache is well and truly gone and I'm hoping you get good news at your scan tomorrow and your lining is lovely and thick! Nice when work is a distraction and making the time go faster.

I'm hoping for a miracle that my lining is nice and thick tomorrow.

lawandgin · 16/07/2021 00:23

It feels like we've made a lot of progress today! TC done - I will be on 125 of bemfola. Almost positive OPK too so looks like I will be starting in 12 days or so (my LP is always about 10 days). And our frozen sperm made ot from the London Women's Clinic to Wimbledon. What a relief!

Rugby7777 · 16/07/2021 03:25

Don’t know if this right place to post,

I’m a new to this and haven’t started ivf yet. We paid private for test in March 2020 and cane back u have low amh 5 (I’m 32 now) so was advised get referred on nhs for ivf. Was referred back last June and had appointment with gynaecologist in November who agreed I should be referred for ivf.
Finally referred to WFI in March. We had 1st consultation, wasn’t really given any info. Went for test and blood test. When I had my scan they said 1 ovary had 4 big follicles but the other ovary had 4 very small ones. My amh is still low.
We are now waiting for our consultation to see if I can have ivf or what our options are. Anyone else had similar situation l?

Hoping4baby21 · 16/07/2021 08:36

@lawandgin congrats glad things are moving in the right direction.

@Rugby7777 welcome!! It seems like you will be having IVF on the NHS if funding is approved. Is that right? All the ladies in the group are having treatment with ABC fertility clinics in England.

I haven't been through much of the NHS process so I'm not sure about timeline and next steps but maybe someone else on the tread had more info on that. Best of luck 🙂

Rugby7777 · 16/07/2021 09:00

@Hoping4baby21
Thanks for the reply. Yes hoping for IVF on the NHS in Wales if approved.
Hopefully someone from Wales May have experienced IVF on NHS who may have advice for me

Hoping4baby21 · 16/07/2021 09:36

@Rugby7777 there might be another thread you can message on that is more suited meaning you get more advice and help.

kittyfantastico21 · 16/07/2021 12:25

@lawandgin great progress! So glad it's all lining up nicely for you - not long to wait now!

@Rugby7777 I don't know anything about NHS timelines/approvals etc but I hope you'll be approved and can get started soon. IVF can be successful even for people who only have one ovary due to surgery, so hopefully you should be fine.

My scan went well and everything looks good! I'm so relieved. My lining is 7.1mm (and hopefully it'll keep growing a bit over the next week). Follicles were small so that's a relief. Transfer is booked for 27 July so only 11 days to go!

@Hoping4baby21 I'm only one day ahead of you so it seems like it might be possible for your lining to be 7mm already - crossing all my fingers and toes and hoping you've had good news at your scan.

Clapham4 · 16/07/2021 13:42

Great news @kittyfantastico21 glad the scan went well. Were you in the Wimbledon clinic as well this morning?

Glad it’s all going off well for you too @lawandgin

I had my first scan earlier, currently at 14 follicles. Waiting on the consultant to confirm when to start my second injection, as I had 2 big follicles already. They also spotted a Polyp, which hasn’t been seen before on any scans, so it could be that my lining has hidden it in previous scans. They said it shouldn’t effect the IVF, but they’ll keep an eye🤞🏼 Anyone else have a Polyp?

A nice sunny weekend ahead for us all at least, I’m going to soak up the VitD 🤗

Hoping4baby21 · 16/07/2021 15:15

@kittyfantastico21 great news! That you are all booked in and lined up and everything was fine with you. I guess you start your pessaries on the weekend right? I had my scan today any my lining was 9.4mm I think she said. I was shocked didn't expect it to be that ready.

The follicle is still there, it hasn't grown. Despite the positive OPK yesterday it doesn't look like it is about to ovulate. She said usually they can tell on the scan due to blood flow. So no idea what that is about. She said keep tracking with OPK maybe it was a false surge. They took bloods and of my blood LH levels are high they will tell me to start pessaries tomorrow.

If they aren't high I scan Monday. If no growth then cycle is cancelled. If growth they will trigger me and I will start pessaries on Monday.

So more waiting and uncertainty.

Hoping4baby21 · 16/07/2021 15:16

@Clapham4 exciting! That's a great number of follicles. I haven't had any experience of a polyp. But good news they don't think it will affect anything.

kittyfantastico21 · 16/07/2021 16:13

@Clapham4 14 follicles is great, glad it's going well! I don't have any experience with polyps I'm afraid. I'm sure if it was a problem they would have said, so try not to worry about it. Yes, I was at Wimbledon - how funny, we might have been there at the same time!

@Hoping4baby21 Good news (I think?) that your follicle doesn't look like it's about to ovulate. Wow, 9.4mm is amazing! I really hope mine will continue to get thicker because it's only just above the minimum requirement at the moment. I'm not starting pessaries until next Thursday, I guess to allow my lining to get thicker, so then transfer will be CD19. Sorry to hear you've got more uncertainty ahead of you. I hope you're not waiting too long for your blood test results today.

Hope everyone has a lovely sunshiny weekend!

Hoping4baby21 · 16/07/2021 16:28

@kittyfantastico21 Yh I'm not sure I think it's still 50/50 I'm not sure it's better than my last update. I'm doing research now about what all this means. The nurses have given me two different lots of info aswell. 2 nurses said if it doesn't grow we continue and ignore it - which is where I currently am. If it grows then they trigger. But then the nurse today said if it doesn't grow then cycle cancelled so I'm not sure. Research suggests that it staying the same is ideal.

Just have to wait and see. They may not call me which means LH isn't high in bloods and I just continue until scan on Monday. When is your next scan?

Yes it will keep growing now so I'm sure you will get thicker. Mine is probably so thick because of the follicle which explains things.

This weather is lush! I'm dying for a Frappuccino 😭😭😭 Enjoy everyone!

Hoping4baby21 · 16/07/2021 20:43

Got my blood results back at 20:15pm! My LH did surge so I start utrogestan tomorrow and transfer is scheduled for next week. I really was not expecting that outcome at all was certain it would be cancelled.

kittyfantastico21 · 17/07/2021 12:52

@Hoping4baby21 oh wow!! That’s so exciting! I’m glad you get to go ahead. How are you feeling about it? Will you still have another scan on Monday? I don’t get another scan because my lining has already reached the minimum, so I guess I just have to trust that it will all continue to go to plan in there and that my lining will be in a good state on ET day.

Hoping4baby21 · 17/07/2021 13:43

@kittyfantastico21 Oh I didn't realise that they didn't scan you again once the lining is up to scratch. So what they just call you in a week and a bit and say this is when your transfer will be? Have they told you when to start your utrogestan?

I'm sure it will be fine, they wouldn't leave it if the chances of something going wrong were high.

So I get no more scans now. My lining is where it's needs to be as are my estrogen levels. Had to start utrogestan today because I ovulated. I did spend all evening worrying I haven't had enough estrogen before transfer usually it's 11 days before starting progesterone, which Dr Google told me is linked to high miscarriage rates so that was a fun ride! I guess the fact that I have this follicle and high levels of estrogen from the get go changes things. Probably why my lining is so thick and ready.

I called the on call number as I just really needed to check it wasn't a massive no no to proceed so quickly. I totally forgot to ask the nurse on the call I got yesterday. She was very reassuring and said there is no way they would proceed with a transfer if there was a problem or issue and that I was worrying unnecessarily. So I just need to trust them and trust that they know what they are doing and want me to get pregnant as much as I do.

Hopeful1234567 · 17/07/2021 16:47

@Hoping4baby21 sorry thought I replied! So excited for your transfer! All sounds great! I don’t know when mine will be think it depends on my lining and making sure it’s about 7mm this time. I was actually thinking of doing the same this month and tracking my LH surge but don’t know if they would take it into account. X

Hopeful1234567 · 17/07/2021 16:49

@kittyfantastico21 so excited for you! Sounds like it’s all heading in the right direction. @Clapham4 that’s a great follicle count! Mine was 16 and ended up with 12 eggs in the end. X

Hoping4baby21 · 17/07/2021 17:32

@Hopeful1234567 well I think usually the LH surge wouldn't happen as you don't have a dominant follicle but for some reason I did. It isn't meant to happen. They told me transfer usually happen at day 17 ish so that might give you a good idea. Have you had you first scan yet,

I find that using a heat pad (or hot water bottle) with castor oil, red raspberry leaf tea or tablets, Brazil nuts 2-3 per day and keeping active even just a walk each day helps to get my lining thick and seemed to work this time even though I had barely time to get it there. You could try those of you feel comfortable.
