Clomid / wait game

So basically today is my last day of clomid my first and only round!
So taking ovulating sticks , I'm cycle day 10
Wondered if anyone is in similar boat and want to keep each other company along the way!!!

@lastbany if I was getting seen sooner I'd wait but I feel like I'm running out of time, all our children are teenagers now and we all know how we are told fertility goes with age 🙄 I can pay to get both the other tests done for about £150 which is fine and if they all come back good I know clomid is the next option anyway as ivf will be a very last resort due to most places giving you low chances at my age anyway BUT if I go to a private clinic just the tests and consultation are around £500 then IF they put me on clomid it's very expensive due to all the monitoring, which will all take a big Chuck out if what we then have for ivf should we need it, but most people when they go private just get told to skip clomid and go straight to ivf which I don't want to do 🤷🏼‍♀️

Personally I think I would give it a go if I was you see how go x

@lastbany that's what I'm thinking, I don't feel like I'm putting myself at risk as I can easily be scanned at a reasonable cost and get blood tests if I need to which is what the docs do!

@Marvellouslymadmum I'm sure many will disagree with me but hey! Anything could be happening inside me who knows????

@lastbany I feel like the lack of education we get on our bodies and how fertility actually works (rather than being told as teenagers that it only takes one time and you're pregnant straight away, which can happen but as we all know is not the most likely scenario) plus the wait times and brush off we get from the nhs (don't get me wrong I love that we have it and have always been grateful) for infertility issues puts us in this position of taking matters into our own hands when we are so desperate for something that is so important to us!

@lastbany will do! I'm currently 7dpo so don't feel like I'd be able to get it in time for the next cycle anyway as I believe you can only buy in other countries but keeping everything crossed for all of you this month 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Marvellouslymadmum when I looked it was Ireland and pretty sure it said Royal Mail was from a pharmacy not sure how legit?

@lastbany that's what I'm worried about really - not getting a legitimate company and being given god knows what!

@lastbany thank you! I may try and talk to a few fertility places and see what the say about going on clomid and the costs before going to ivf and take it from there. I'll let you know how I get on,

@lastbany yeah the trigger is to force ovulation. It depends on my LH levels today! They’ll call me in a couple of hours when the blood tests come back.

@Marvellouslymadmum we went private and it’s costing us! But I couldn’t wait (impatience more than anything) so I went and have AMH, AFC, tubal patency and uterine viability scans. From that they prescribed clomid to try for up to 6 months and then ivf if nothing happens. Currently on round 2 of clomid (although round 1 wasn’t really a round).

@lastbany that is a proper website and registered with the government for prescribing. From their files it says they're not always good at checking people aren't abusing opioids or sleeping tablets but there's nothing about not using correct drugs so if I did decide to go that route that would be a good place to get them!

@Luna1108 ahh that's interesting! You're literally the only one - out of many, I've spoken to that's been privately prescribed clomid, the rest were all sent to ivf privately or some prescribed clomid on nhs. I'm happy to look into it just don't want to be forced down the ivf route if there's other things to try!

I’ve such bad cramps today. Didn’t sleep great. My OPK today says no but yesterday was yes... other half isn’t in great form so hope we don’t miss... or didn’t miss... it’s so hard.

@Marvellouslymadmum welcome to group. I have heard you can get online. Would you not consider having chat with GP and asking for maybe bloods. I’m not doing scans just blood work so not entirely monitored on them and only taking 50mg

@lastbany @chloedancer897 I must try take my opk during day. Maybe yesterday was false positive. Although if himself is still in mood nada be happening!

@lastbany it's in wales! They said some of they prescribers are from different places but they're based in wales 🤷🏼‍♀️ it is strange but definitely checks out as I checked with the ghpc!

@Shelleybe thank you, I could definitely ask the gp to take a blood test and if they won't can get one done via a paid company. I would definitely get that done and maybe a scan or too as well so I will be monitored just separately and not by one particular doctor

@Shelleybe that's the way I'm looking at it! I've taken soy isoflavons this month which are supposed to be 'natures clomid' so will
See if I get anywhere with those and if not I'll look at the clomid

@Marvellouslymadmum hi and welcome to the group. It's up to you what to do. I had to beg for clomid as my consultant didn't want to do it but I'm on a wait list for IVF and have been TRC for over 3 years so I don't want to wait any more. I got it privately, my GP wouldn't prescribe it either.

33 weeks is such a long wait after waiting so long. I hope something works for you

I'm ?10dpo and had some pink CM. Reckon it's AF getting ready. I'm not really sure when it's due as I ovulated late with the clomid. I might do days 2-6 next cycle and try to ovulate earlier
