@lastbany it's amazing! I wouldn't be able to interpret OPKs without it! I cheat though and use the clear blue one haha although I do think the cheaper OPKs are more sensitive!

I barely slept last night. I was up peeing every half an hour, and then went down a google rabbit hole convincing myself I was pregnant. It's so frustrating that pregnancy symptoms are also AF symptoms. I woke at 6 trying to convince myself not to test but of course I did it anyway.

I'm pretty sure it's coming. The other 3 times I was pregnant ( one was a MC), I actually had no symptoms. With my first I even had a bleed so I didn't realise I was pregnant.

Sorry for the rant. My head is all over the place this week. I'm always like this on the second week of the TWW. I completely torture myself looking at my fertility friend calendar trying to work out if we DTD enough or not.

chloedancer897 · 01/04/2021 12:58

@Luna1108 everywhere I've read says clomid reduces your CM so use pressed with it. So don't go by CM. And also the OPKs are unreliable. The scans are more accurate. So I'd say listen to the doctor and get BDing! Good luck xx

lastbany · 01/04/2021 13:02

@chloedancer897 aw god I know what you mean!!! Can't remebe did you have the scans and shot or just clomid and ovulation sticks? Also do you dtd every other day or every day? After last night and feeling rough today last think I wanna do is get down today but now I think it's possible I'm ovulating gotta deffo dtd!!! Haha

@lastbany I had scans and bloods done which both confirmed ovulation. Don't know what we are doing wrong and why it isn't happening for us. My DH is younger than me too so he's fit and healthy. I was always convinced the problem was me but we never got any answers from all the tests. It feels like I'm fighting a losing battle.

Get down to business every other day now just to cover yourself!! When you get a positive OPK, you ovulate in the next 12-36 hours so that's why my doctor told me to have sex every day for 3 days from then. You'll be busy for the next wee while! Lol

Shelleybe · 01/04/2021 13:22

@lastbanyThat looks high anyway on ovulation so I would be def going for it

@chloedancer897 it’s so hard being around the time it’s due your time of and waiting game. Especially when don’t have answers why hasn’t it happened. Hope this is your time x

lastbany · 01/04/2021 13:23

@chloedancer897 same here my partner 10 years younger! But I have three children he only has one with me! I've been pregnant 6 times so keep thinking surely I'm ok lol but something not right! Wondering if it's all scaring from c sections (3) I just don't know
Yep we done 5 outta 6 days so far so gonna have to keep it up although sat I working so won't be doing it sat unless it's early morning lol we see! Gonna try do every day till wed haha just so I know given it every chance!!

OP posts:
Shelleybe · 01/04/2021 13:27

My partner is 2 years younger but we both don’t have kids. I keep feeling like it’s my fault. It’s so hard

chloedancer897 · 01/04/2021 13:35

@Shelleybe have you had testing done? It's so hard isn't it? We constantly blame ourselves because this is what we should be made to do! But it turns our conception isn't easy, there are so many hurdles to jump through that I'm surprised anyone gets pregnant!

Shelleybe · 01/04/2021 14:00

@chloedancer897 I have had pelvic ultrasound, blood tests and day 2 day 21 tests. I know there is lap and dye but haven’t had that yet

All came back normal. He had sperm analysis and that was normal so just limbo and given then clomid

chloedancer897 · 01/04/2021 14:31

@Shelleybe we are the same. I've had the dye test too and that was normal. They just couldn't find a reason for us.

Shelleybe · 01/04/2021 15:04

@chloedancer897 it makes it so hard. I’m like why can’t I be a Mum... everyone else around me is...

lastbany · 01/04/2021 22:54

@Shelleybe I'm positive it will happen! I know what you mean though! I am lucky and also very grateful for what I have (3) but still I see some people having kid after kids and in all
Honestly don't particularly want them! Then those who want it the most abs would be amazing parents struggle!!
Well we didn't dtd today my partner was "shattered" poor him! So if it doesn't work I know already I'll blame today lol

lastbany · 02/04/2021 08:05

Well my opk this morning was deffo a lot lighter so now I am worried I've ovulated and not dtd omg why is it so hard

OP posts:
chloedancer897 · 02/04/2021 08:10

@lastbany you aren't meant to use FMU with the cheaper OPKs. You're meant to do it during the day and recommends a few times a day to catch it. I usually did it twice a day, morning and evening so I didn't miss it x

lastbany · 02/04/2021 08:15

@chloedancer897 ahhhh! Could be the reason! Right I'll try again tonight! I'm aware to keep in mind could be very wrong lol but it's 6 days since last clomid so I am inside the dates possible to ovuamye xx

OP posts:
chloedancer897 · 02/04/2021 08:21

@lastbany I've learned so much from here and trying for 3 years 😂😂 really, you can just keep DTD every other day to cover yourself. Don't put too much stress or pressure on yourself. The OPKs can get really stressful x

lastbany · 02/04/2021 08:50

@chloedancer897 ye that's it! This is why I stopped them before! Just thought if I know I've ovulated can dtd few more days then have a break haha!

OP posts:
Luna1108 · 02/04/2021 09:35

Cheap OPKs are best between 10am and 8pm. And make sure you don’t drink in the 2 hours or so before, needs to be concentrated 😂 also I second the Premom app - especially when it’s close to ovulation.

I’m back in clinic now, will update!

lastbany · 02/04/2021 09:53

@Luna1108 ah wow exciting xx

chloedancer897 · 02/04/2021 10:08

@Luna1108 hoping for some good news!🤞🤞

Luna1108 · 02/04/2021 10:14

Still not ovulated, much to their surprise I think!

2 follicles still going, 17 and 22mm. They’ve given me a trigger shot and taken bloods again so they’ll call me this afternoon to tell me if I need to do the shot or not. Looks terrifying I’ve never done one before!! 😬

Marvellouslymadmum · 02/04/2021 10:23

Hi I hope you don't mind me joining? I have just read through your thread and found your journeys so interesting! We have been ttc for 3 years with 2mc and 2cp recently had blood tests done and found I had massively low doses of iron which could've been effecting getting pg and staying pg so was put on a big dose of iron a day and that's gone up to just a little low now. I was referred for amh and afc tests then possibly clomid (not eligible for ivf on nhs as we both have children from previous relationships but none together) as the others were fine but have just found out the wait for them is 33 weeks! I just turned 42 a few days ago and feel like I really can't wait that long! So was thinking of going down the clomid route myself but was worried about all the monitoring, now I've seen that half of you aren't being monitored anyway it kind of makes me feel I should just go for it! Have you all got your clomid through private and nhs docs here, or bought it from somewhere? I have a private scan clinic down the road from me so can get scanned for £60 a time to check on it, which makes me feel like I'd at least be monitored that way and can always get a medichecks progesterone test too! Am I crazy for thinking this or should I just wait the 33 weeks and hope it's not too late for us?!

lastbany · 02/04/2021 10:25

@Luna1108 what day are you now? And wow does the trigger make you ovulate then?

OP posts:
lastbany · 02/04/2021 10:32

@Marvellouslymadmum I feel like it's totally Upto you, ttc is hard and I certainly wouldn't give someone shit for doing it, people think it's bad to self medicate with anything but if the doctor gives it you take all ok! As a nurse prob shouldn't say it but half the time doctors are just winging it we meds and it's all trial!
I could be self medicating Caus I've had no tests or baselines done! Also have 3 children so can do it myself but been ttc for a while now! Clomid one cycle then will give up! As not stressing myself over it! I've pretty much prepared for twins or even triplets this cycle but can see myself seeing AF or a BFN in couple weeks! I know I w read threads where people have bought it themselves and I have looked (months ago) think we're about £60 for the tablets
Could you not pay to get seen before 33 weeks if this is a option?
