FET March/April

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any dates pencilled in for an FET during March/April? I have been given the dates of 30/03 for baseline scan and transfer the week of 12/04.

It would be great to see if there are many others on similar timelines?!

I was fine in the beginning I was just having palpitations, then I had my period and hot flushes, depression, anxiety, headaches etc etc but yes hopefully all these side effects mean it's working ! 🤞🏻
See I was fine on northisterone!
Think it's within a few days. It's always been 2-3 days for me

louloulemons · 17/03/2021 17:56

Palpitations sound bad enough without all the other things. Poor you, that must be awful

PT8998 · 17/03/2021 18:09

Hey everyone!

Welcome to the newbies!

I am getting on fine with the norethisterone @BambiOnIce80 @louloulemons! I am now one tablet away form completing 6 days of the 12 prescribed. I am excited to be half way, I can't wait for it to be done! It's going by super fast though, I do have to admit!

Not long to go now @elsaesmeralda, scan day tomorrow! What time are you due to be scanned?

Welcome @ivftake3! I will be starting buserelin when I hit day two of my period. So hopefully I will get to that point soon! I hope this transfer's a success for you and I am sorry for your loss.

@Sara237 all being well, we will be really close in timescales. I am hoping to transfer the same week as you by the sounds of things!

@louloulemons I have usually started a bleed around 6-10 days after finishing the last norethisterone. So hopefully you'll be within that time. I have seen a lot of people bleed within a day or two. Fingers crossed!

@louloulemons thanks, I started a post pill bleed today so pleased about that but super crampy, feels like another thing to tick off. I think 2-3 days from when you stop, but it's like it's never coming when you actually need it to! Hopefully soon for you.
@elsaesmeralda palpitations sound scary, love the way you say, 'just palpitations' we women are machines really! Hope scan goes well.
@PT8998 hi, roll on April for us then. So have you had to take a pill to synch up with clinic? Is that what northisterone is? Never heard of half these drugs 😯...
@ivftake3 sorry to hear what you've been through. It's brutal. Really hope this is your time.
Everything crossed for everyone 🙂 FET should work at Easter surely!

PT8998 · 17/03/2021 20:56

@Sara237 no pill for me! Just the norethisterone. It's a synthetic progesterone to force on a period as I don't normally have periods. So I take this for however long, then I wait a couple of days and then a bleed will come along! Once I hit day two of the bleed, I then take buserelin (down regs) to keep ovaries quiet and then I go in for a scan to check what's going on. When they're happy and the time is right, I will start progynova (estrogen) and then eventually cyclogest (progesterone) and then take the cyclogest until I am 12 weeks pregnant (if it's successful, of course).

Then, fingers crossed for transfer week of 12th April.

Or, that's the plan anyway! Knowing me, something will go wrong! haha!

Afternoon ladies. Had my baseline scan this morning. Lining is at 1.4mm the nurse said it can't get any thinner so I'm good to start the progynova and patches as of tomorrow ! Here we go again

How is everyone doing ?

BambiOnIce80 · 18/03/2021 14:25

Fab news @elsaesmeralda! 🤩 I started progynova this morning, so looks like we might be on a very similar time line 🙂 When's your next lining scan?

How are things going with you @louloulemons? Any sign of your bleed yet? I hope it doesn't keep you waiting for long 🤞🍀

Welcome @Sara237 and @ivftake3 👋 I had to have surgical management after my MMC, so I feel you 💔 Wishing you both all the luck in the world for this cycle 🤞🍀🤞🍀

@PT8998 I'm always impressed by clinics that can tell you which week you'll be transferring right at the start of your cycle! 🙌 Mine seems to favour being entirely vague about it 😏 It's only because I've projected forward that I think mine might be at some point during the week commencing the 5th of April! 🗓️ My inner control freak is getting clinic envy! 😂

elsaesmeralda · 18/03/2021 14:46

@BambiOnIce80 my lining scan is 1st April! When is yours ? Is this your first fet? Sorry get lost with all the updates I do 😆

BambiOnIce80 · 18/03/2021 15:01

No worries @elsaesmeralda, I struggle to keep up too 😄 This is my second FET 👍 The first one was in November and resulted in a chemical, so onto the next we go 💪 My lining scan is also on the 1st of April 😁 Keeping everything crossed for both of us that there's nice, satisfactory linings all round! 🤞🔮🤞🔮

elsaesmeralda · 18/03/2021 15:44

Ahh, so sorry to hear that. It's so hard isn't it ! I had my last fet cancelled due to my lining not responding at all, so this time they've upped everything and thrown some extra at me and I'm just hoping it works!
What dosage progynova are you on ?

elsaesmeralda · 18/03/2021 15:44

@BambiOnIce80

BambiOnIce80 · 18/03/2021 16:31

Thanks @elsaesmeralda 🤗 It wasn't the nicest of experiences, but was nowhere near as nightmarish as the MMC at 11 weeks after our fresh cycle at the beginning of last year. I guess what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right?!

Urgh, it sounds like you've been through it with your linining 😔 Also sounds like your clinic has thrown everything at you to make sure it doesn't happen again 🤞🤞🤞 I'm taking the standard 6mg, which managed to get my lining to 8.1mm last time so hoping it'll do what it needs to again 🔮 Thoroughly expecting a curve ball at some point though - doesn't feel like it'd be infertility without one! 🙄

lucymills1234 · 18/03/2021 16:36

Hi all,

Would be great to join you if I can. I had my first round of IVF last Nov/Dec - 12 eggs collected, 5 fertilised and two blasts. 5AA fresh transfer (BFN) and a 4BB went into the freezer.

I'm 41 so I decided to do another fresh round in Feb before my eggs age any more, this time they got 18 eggs and I ended up with 5 blasts. All 18 eggs were from one ovary (my other was removed ages ago) so I was told when I came round after EC that it would need to be a freeze all.

The best of this latest crop is a 5AA so that's what I'm hoping to transfer soon. I had EC on 1st March and feels like time is crawling so slowly - post-EC bleed only started on Saturday and I have to wait for the next period to start before I can plan the FET.... but clinic said I can do a natural transfer rather than medicated. Have little idea about when the actual transfer is done - guessing it will be around the end of April..?

Is anyone else doing this solo? With lockdown it's frustrating not having anyone to talk to about it.

elsaesmeralda · 18/03/2021 16:59

@BambiOnIce80 oh that's awful, I'm sorry. But as you say these things make us stronger and now time to focus your energy on this fet, you sound very optimistic and it's admirable! 💕
They are throwing it all at me, last time they made a mistake and left it too long between 2nd scan and potential transfer and my lining broke down, needless to say I was devastated, so I've been assured it won't happen again, here's hoping anyways!

@lucymills1234 welcome! 5 blasts is great, hopefully you won't need all of them and the one is sticky! It is such a long process, I've been down regulating for two weeks and it's been the longest two weeks of my life ! And now another two weeks til day 10 scan 😩 but hopefully for us all the wait is worth it

louloulemons · 18/03/2021 17:01

Oh @BambiOnIce80 same happened to me after my fresh cycle in November. It’s taken me so long to come to terms with having got so close just to have it snatched away again. It does make us stronger and when we get there, we will be all the more thankful because of it.

@elsaesmeralda so glad the scan went well and you’re onto the next stage now!

@lucymills1234 welcome and please feel you can talk to us. People I’ve met online have literally kept me going through all of this. Bet you are so desperate to get started again.

No sign of a bleed here!! Never thought I’d see the day I was desperately wishing for AF!!

BambiOnIce80 · 18/03/2021 18:20

Crikey @elsaesmeralda, how heartbreaking 😢 This process is so, so stressful and it makes it even worse when the clinic take their eye off the ball and something avoidable happens 😞 I'm sure they'll be super on it to make sure they don't put you through that again. Have they said what the plan will be if your lining still needs some more help when the 1st of April comes around? Apologies if this is too many questions - can you tell that having a plan B for every eventually is how I cope with things?! 🤪

Welcome @lucymills1234 👋 That's a great number that you've got in the freezer! 🥚 💪 I'm turning 41 in a couple of months and I wish I'd had the opportunity/funds to have done some embryo banking... sadly covid jiggered any chance of that at my NHS self-funded clinic 😔 I'm not doing this solo, but totally understand the not having anyone to talk to about this (DP does his best, but he's not female! 😂). No one gets it like ladies who are going through it. These threads have saved my sanity!

I'm so very sorry that you've been through the same @louloulemons 💗 I've never known emotional pain like it (and I had a fairly crappy start in life!). I'm not going to lie - I'm more terrified of a BFP than a BFN in case the same thing happens again 🥺 I've booked myself in for some counselling a few weeks after transfer to try and sort my head out. I can moan if it's a BFN or talk through coping mechanisms if it's positive (again with the having a plan in place to try and cope! 😂). How are you feeling about going through a cycle again?x

elsaesmeralda · 18/03/2021 20:17

I know, what made it worse is on that second scan I was told my lining was at 7mm and by the time transfer came around it would be perfect, but I had to go in for a third scan to check and it was then at 6, so I felt like it had been so close and snatched away! No haven't mentioned anything @BambiOnIce80 to be honest i was wondering myself what else could be done if lining isn't responding? I know they can try viagra etc but just hope it doesn't come to it

Sellandtravel · 19/03/2021 10:11

Hello ladies, i recognised you from a thread i was on last year. I've named changed since then. I have had one failed round with none of my 10 eggs making it to embryo stage, and then one CP in january from my second round. We also have one in the freezer scored 8/10 on the French scale which i am hopefully having transferred this afternoon. I'm on a natural cycle so i'm taking no drugs at all apart from a trigger shot I've taken in 2 doses this week to help it stick. Not looking forward to the next 2 weeks!

elsaesmeralda · 19/03/2021 10:39

@Sellandtravel aw good luck with your transfer!! We're all here for the next two weeks and beyond for you to have a rant/moan or just chat 🤞🏻💕

BambiOnIce80 · 19/03/2021 11:28

Welcome @Sellandtravel 👋 I think we were on a thread together for your first cycle - so pleased to hear you're at the transfer stage 🤗 Keeping everything crossed for you for this afternoon 🤞🍀🤞🍀

@elsaesmeralda - viagra?!?! 😮 Is that a thing?! If so, my mind is officially blown! 🤯 I'm intrigued to know what it does to the womb lining! It sounds like you went through a literal nightmare last time 😞 I didn't get my lining thickness scan until day 18 of progynova last time (CD20) and I was wondering how long they can keep us on it until the lining just gives up and breaks down 🤔 I really, really hope neither of us get a curve ball on the 1st of April 🔮 🤞🔮🤞

Sellandtravel · 19/03/2021 15:44

@elsaesmeralda @BambiOnIce80 thank you for the well wishes. Embryo survived the thaw and is now onboard Grin

elsaesmeralda · 20/03/2021 10:51

@Sellandtravel brilliant ! Keep us updated 😊

elsaesmeralda · 20/03/2021 11:03

@BambiOnIce80 😆 apparently so! I would imagine it encourages blood flow to the uterus just as it encourages blood flow to a penis ! I really hope everything goes okay too, it's awful this process as you get over one hurdle and then there's another and another, we've just got to keep our fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻

CLP20 · 20/03/2021 23:41

Hi everyone!

I’m due to start my FET cycle on my next period, hopefully 30/3 so transfer should be mid-end April.

I have 3 embryos on ice after a fresh cycle in Feb that ended after EC due to OHSS, so now all recovered and ready for my first transfer.

Hi @willithappen, nice to see someone from the Feb thread!

RichmondLady1981 · 21/03/2021 17:30

Hi ladies. Happy Sunday!

Thank you so much for the well wishes. Am all sorted for my next cycle. Start my Norethisterone on Tuesday and EC is booked for April 21st! Hopefully will yet a normal egg this time! Gotta keep going!

When are your ECs booked for? Think I’ll be behind you ladies?
