Thanks ladies @Kitekat81 @pixelflower @willithappen I really am so moved by your wishes, it is hard and I do need to take it all in.

The doctor just called she was quite upset she said she would have expected even just 1 egg fertilised there was nothing wrong with my eggs or the sperm (it’s a male factor) it was even done using ICSI so it should have had an even better chance, she said it’s completely unexplained which I think to be how’s the makes it even worse.

We have discussed another cycle she said she obviously doesn’t know if I would get more eggs or anything would change (it would be self funded) the treatment would stay this same which I don’t really understand. She says she wouldn’t want me to waste money if the outcome was the same.

I really don’t know what to do at the moment there is no waiting list so would just need to wait for period to start again but I am taking time out. I am 41 in August I may try again before then but for now I am away to drink copious amounts of wine.

Thanks again ladies our support means so much ❤️ I can’t wait to see how your stories all work out ❤️

willithappen · 27/03/2021 13:32

That's so strange that they would keep things the same?
I imagine you will get a review appointment with the clinic to go over everything also and they may be able to explain a bit more for you then too hopefully.
How much testing has been done on partners SA?

I agree about taking a cycle out, just to get back to yourself. It takes a lot out on you. Unless you are absolutely adamant, going straight into another cycle seems like a lot on your body :(

Do you have any plans today?

pixelflower · 27/03/2021 13:41

@LabradorMum wine sounds very much needed. I'm glad the doctor called even if it hasn't helped. Maybe looking into the clinic therapist before you make any decisions would help you process everything that's happened. Take the time you need and we're here in your corner when you need us x

pixelflower · 27/03/2021 13:41

@LabradorMum meant to ask how your partner is doing?.

Scirocco · 27/03/2021 17:12

@LabradorMum just read the news - I'm so, so sorry. I'm thinking of you.

Wine definitely sounds much-needed, possibly even with chocolate ice-cream (my go-to emergency comfort food).

PinkFlamingoGirl · 27/03/2021 17:35

Hey, just been catching up. @LabradorMum I'm so sorry, there are no words 💗

willithappen · 28/03/2021 14:06

@LabradorMum keep thinking of you. How are you feeling today?

LabradorMum · 28/03/2021 14:25

Hey ladies, thank you all for the lovely messages.

Hi @willithappen I’m doing ok, has a good cry and some wine last night. I have decided to concentrate on me for a bit going to loose as much weight as I can to be a healthier weight, then I will decide if we will have another try around July, it’s a lot of money and from what the doctor said yesterday she didn’t hold out much hope for it working so I’m a little confused by the whole thing.

pixelflower · 28/03/2021 15:53

@LabradorMum sounds like a good plan. Putting time into your physical health is always going to be beneficial and it'll give you time to do some mental healing too x

willithappen · 28/03/2021 16:47

@LabradorMum that sounds like a good plan for you going forward
That's a shame the nurse felt that way but maybe when you get your review appointment you will get some more answers hopefully

florafoxtrot · 28/03/2021 17:17

Sending you so much love @LabradorMum. You’ve had such a shock so definitely need to take some time to process it all and get some support to consider your next steps.

Do you know when your review appointment might be? Odd for them to say that they wouldn’t tweak your drugs or protocol or anything. Try to focus on how strong you have had to be to get to this point, what you have gone through is shit and unfair but you are amazing and that strength is there for when you need it. Thinking of you.

LabradorMum · 28/03/2021 17:39

You ladies are all being so supportive it’s so nice considering you are all going through your own journeys I really do appreciate it ❤️

@florafoxtrot your words are lovely and everyone’s sentiments really do mean so much.

I will get a letter for a review appointment but the doctor said yesterday they can’t really tell me much more it’s just unexplained so I am really confused. I just wonder if my trigger shot was too early or too late or whether my body was just adjusting to the drugs but these are questions I will ask. I will get all the information and decide what to do.

willithappen · 28/03/2021 17:51

@LabradorMum I think we are all on a similar journey but take different paths there and so we can understand more about the whole process and how things can halt without a seconds notice :(

Get all your questions written out for sure and make sure they are all answered.
Can they do any testing? I'm sure they will be able to tell if it's an egg or sperm issue also. Seems very strange that they would just say unexplained and that's all to it. I wouldn't be taking that as an answer, you deserve more lovely

florafoxtrot · 28/03/2021 20:40

You sound extremely in tune with your body and informed as to what questions to ask.

Is the appointment soon?

Paige2207 · 28/03/2021 20:58

Hi @LabradorMum not been on this a few days and catching up with news..I am so sorry for your news. Hope your ok and take good care of yourself and each other x

GemmTryTTC · 29/03/2021 09:09

@LabradorMum I'm so sorry, I don't know what to say.... sending you a big hug.

Kamiros · 29/03/2021 09:25

Really sorry to hear your news @Labradormum. Sending you lots of love.

LabradorMum · 29/03/2021 10:49

Hey ladies, so I have a huge list of questions, been doing loads of research, I will get a letter with an appointment date to discuss it all. They discuss everything at mid day meeting so maybe a couple of weeks.

But they best watch out I am armed with so many questions and points!!

Thanks again ladies for all your support 😁

willithappen · 29/03/2021 11:46

@LabradorMum glad to hear it lovely! Get as much questions as you can! Push for as much testing as you can also!

conall · 30/03/2021 14:49

I'm just catching up now - sorry to hear your sad news @LabradorMum sending you some love!

conall · 30/03/2021 23:14

I have a consultation with my gyno tomorrow to hopefully get put on the waitlist for my clinic, I am bricking it though! I have a couple of questions about if we will need to get our tests done again since we haven't had any done in 2+years and how long the waitlist is going to be. I'm definitely nervous that she won't refer me though due to my weight in the past and because this is a phone consultation how is she going to believe that I've lost the weight when she can't weigh me or see me since it's a phone consultation?! I think my irrational thoughts 🤨 is because I haven't had good experiences with her in the past but I'm glad that I'll finally have some answers. Sorry for the vent, I've been sitting for days nervous about it since it's been creeping in super fast and now that it's tomorrow I think I'll end up having a sleepless night!

pixelflower · 31/03/2021 07:49

@conall hope you managed to sleep ok. Good luck with the appointment. When I had calls with the clinic they just took my word for it that my weight hadn't changed so hopefully she'll just trust you. Do you have scales in your house? If there's any issue you could offer to send a photo ? ( This is one of the things I thought about while worrying before appointments)

conall · 31/03/2021 09:27

@pixelflower I've been up for a couple of hours cleaning 😂 I didn't know what else to do. I have got pics that I am able to send so can offer her those up, I just think since I've had problems with my weight previously that she might not believe it but that might be me being stupid😂 I'm hoping she will just be able to take my word for it! Only a couple of hours to go and then I'll be able to relax, hopefully either way I'll know what my next step is going to be.

Scirocco · 31/03/2021 09:59

Just had a repeat AMH test and it's a bit weird - gone up from 14 to 23... I've not changed anything in the intervening period so I'm not sure why it's jumped up. Feeling a bit worried in case it's a spurious result that could impact on medication doses and cause problems with treatment response. But then I'm trying to remind myself I've still got months to go before treatment, probably.

florafoxtrot · 31/03/2021 14:44

Hope your consultation with the gyno went ok @conall. Will you need to go into the clinic for more tests? They will likely weigh you then?

I got a letter yesterday for a scan on the 15th of April, I'm assuming its to check up on the ovarian cyst they spotted last time around and ensure its not gotten any bigger... I had almost forgotten about it so now worrying a little as they said it'll need to be removed before IVF if it has grown. Confused I'm really looking forward to it being April tomorrow since we have the our consent appointment and obviously the lifting of some restrictions too, feel like March has gone on forever!
