@lucymills1234 and @Gensola I'm so sorry the calls weren't as positive. However, there's still good chance you'll both have good embryos on day 5 to transfer /freeze.

If you remember I posted here my disappointment when they called me on day 1 to tell me 4 fertilised but looking at my records there was a good chance none might make it to day 5? I was so upset and although they did a good job of managing my expectations, they were actually completely wrong.

@gensola As we are in the same clinic, I'm convinced they like to play it down on day 1 to manage expectations. I doubt you'll have none of day 5. I'd take what they said today with a pinch of salt. I wish they took a more balanced tone on the day 1 update. It's just not nice that after everything we go through, they make us feel like it's the end when it's most likely not. Luckily not all of them have that negative tone.

Don't lose hope. I've got everything crossed for you both xxx

I'm sorry you have received disappointing news @lucymills1234 - this journey really is such a rollercoaster. It must be especially hard when you are doing this on your own. It's so hard. We go into IVF knowing the chance of success each round is so low, but we still hold out hope that we will be one of the lucky ones. I really hope your 4 eggs keep going. Sounds like they are doing well so there is definitely still hope.

It's so tough dealing with the ups and downs and potential disappointment. The way I am trying to deal with the potential disappointment of this round not working is to tell myself that hopefully this first round is just a chance for them to see how I react to the protocol and perhaps they can change it next round to get better results. That said, with my low AMH/AFC I don't see me getting more than 4-5 eggs at any point.

Morning everyone, how are we all feeling today?

Im 5dp5dt today and feeling like it hasn't worked. I've felt exhausted the last two days and today, I'm feeling pretty normal energy levels, so convincing myself it hasn't worked. Which I know is stupid because its far too early for any really obvious signs. Driving myself a bit crazy Xx

MrsF1989 · 05/12/2020 08:29

@Jane1284 how are you feeling about transfer?? Best of luck, hope it goes well!! Xx

BrandyM · 05/12/2020 09:12

@MrsF1989 I feel you! It is so so hard not to think about all these signs, isn’t it? I’m only 3dp5dt and had a tiny bit of cramping last night and was overanalysing it. I was wondering if it was my period coming early, or if it was just the progesterone etc. It’s so so easy to drive yourself nuts analysing all these signs.. I completely understand.

However, practically I think it’s early for us to have any symptoms until at least half way through the 2WW. I think i read somewhere that implantation occurs roughly half way through the 2WW. Even then we may not ha r any symptoms as everyone reacts differently to early pregnancy. You might have an easier one!

On your energy levels, could it be that you slept better or is more hydrated etc? It could be a number of other factors. This 2WW is so hard! Roll on OTD! 😊

@Jane1284 good luck with the transfer today! Hope it goes well. Sending lots of positive thoughts your way xx

Good luck @Jane1284

@MrsF1989 I've heard people with no symptoms at all get a BFP so it really it just a waiting game!

I'm officially out, they cancelled my cycle yesterday due to my ovarian cysts and high estrogen on buserelin. Start down regging again next month. Really frustrating apparently I'm one of the 5% of people this happens to ☹️. Someone pass me a baileys and mince pie... good luck to everyone still going! X

MrsF1989 · 05/12/2020 09:23

@BrandyM eekk, its so hard. I tell my husband but I think because its not their body, its different and my friends totally don't get it lol. So its good to be able to speak to people who get it.

There isn't anything massive that I can think of which would make the difference, maybe the IVF stims and HCG trigger shot is leaving my system which is making me feel better 😊 just have to be patient. OTD is Wednesday, so not too long to wait 😬. When is yours? Xxx

Gensola · 05/12/2020 09:32

@BrandyM I’m not too bad - I had a really bad night with pain that woke me up, but it seems to have settled now. I have a really horrendous week at work this week too, bad timing! Once it’s out of the way I have leave booked so I’m looking forward to that.
Good luck to everyone on the 2WW!

BrandyM · 05/12/2020 09:46

@ivfhope3 I’m so sorry I missed your update. You’ve been through so much hun I really feel for you. I think it was @Jane1284 that said she looks at this cycle as a way to learn about what works/doesn’t work and therefore hopefully improving the odds of the next one. I think that's a great way to look at it. At least now you know that you’re definitely not comfortable with natural cycle and you’ll insist on a medicated one next cycle to ensure they can control the follicles. Hope they've given you some clarity on next steps. Remember, we are always hear for you xxx

Hi @BrandyM @Jane1284 thanks for the encouragement. I’m still in the game until I hear otherwise is how I am trying (not always succeeding!) to think about it. My clinic wouldn’t normally call again until day 5 but said they could call me today if I wanted. I didn’t like the idea of going from day 2 to day 5 with no update at all. No news yet though. I know the positive is that I responded well to stims which could be promising for the future. The difficulty will be getting the money together, again made harder because it’s only my income (massively dented this year as I’m self employed and lost so much work) and it also costs more as you have to pay for a donor as well.

I hope everyone is doing ok. Finally dawned on me that it’s Christmas soon, has seemed a distant concept with everything else going on.

@Jane1284 so much luck for the transfer today, let us know how it goes and if you’re able to put one in the freezer.

Roo45 · 05/12/2020 10:02

Good luck @Jane1284 and so sorry @Kitttycatt xx

BrandyM · 05/12/2020 10:25

@Kitttycatt I’m so sorry to hear that. It is so frustrating for this to happen after down regging for 2/3 weeks. So many hurdles in this process Xx

@lucymills1234 I've got everything crossed for you for today's call. It takes a very strong person to do this solo. I'm really inspired by you! Keep going and never give up. It'll all work out in the end. Xx

@Ofpalestsilver how are you doing? I hope the intense period pain has subsided now? Xx

BrandyM · 05/12/2020 10:37

@MrsF1989 Wednesday is not long to go! Lucky you. Mine isn't until week on Monday (14th). Going to be a long week next week! 😬 xx

OP posts:
BrandyM · 05/12/2020 10:43

@MrsF1989 is Wednesday (OTD) 10dp5dt for you? Xx

OP posts:
MrsF1989 · 05/12/2020 11:12

@BrandyM well, im cheating a bit the hospital OTD is on Friday which is 11dpt, but that feels like far too long away, so to stop me from being tempted to test too too soon, we have said we will test 9dpt, which is wed... sorry long explanation lol xx

MrsF1989 · 05/12/2020 11:14

@lucymills1234 I have everything crossed for you, this process is so tough and the whole time you just feel like its based on luck (as well as a lot of science)!

Xmas is so far from my thoughts right now, really need to start thinking about it xx

BrandyM · 05/12/2020 11:22

@MrsF1989 ah I see. That makes sense! What a nice compromise. You're giving me ideas now haha 🤣 My DH has hidden the hospital test (at my request) so I don't just wake up one morning and test. I'll see if I can negotiate an earlier day with him 😆 xx

OP posts:
MrsF1989 · 05/12/2020 11:26

@BrandyM this date was my compromise with hubby because he said I wasn't allowed to rest early, so 9 days felt like a reasonable compromise 🙊. I haven't been tempted yet, but I think Monday and Tuesday I'll find it hard knowing that the test probably would should something. Xx

Jane1284 · 05/12/2020 11:35

Thank you all for your kind wishes for today. On my way to the clinic now with a hot water bottle keeping my belly nice and toasty. I hope you are all having a nice relaxing Saturday xx

Gensola · 05/12/2020 11:37

@Jane1284 good luck for today! Hope it goes smoothly for you x

Mancbear88 · 05/12/2020 12:55

@MrsF1989 @BrandyM my official test day is 15th I have a big POAS issue though and I tested this morning just in case, unsurprisingly it was negative, obviously it was at 3 days haha, I knew it would be! I bought a job lot of cheapies from amazon and I can’t resist any temptation.
It’s so hard not to symptom spot, especially since a lot of the symptoms are the same if it’s positive or negative.
