Morning everyone. I hope your Sunday's are starting well.

Thanks again @Jane1284 @BrandyM @MrsF1989. I had another call from the clinic yesterday. A different person this time and it really helped that it was someone much more helpful and informative. Yesterday was day 3 for me and there were still 4 developing. My clinic grades A-E and I was told I have two at AB (one is a 10 cell and one an 8 cell), one at B (but it was only a 5 cell) and one BC (6 cell). Naturally they see the ABs as frontrunners but I think the lowest they'd consider putting back is a C.

I know the stats say the biggest drop-off is between day 3 & 5 but as you see on here every day some people have them all drop off and others have none. So I will be waiting for the all-important call tomorrow morning.

@Jane1284 how was the transfer? Did you end up with anything to freeze in the end? One to transfer is still a great result given your initial concerns.

Jane1284 · 06/12/2020 09:55

That’s great news @lucymills1234 - sounds like quite a few still going well. Are you scheduled for a transfer tomorrow or Tuesday or are they waiting to check tomorrow and will then let you know? Will be keeping everything crossed for you!

My transfer went well thanks and I have a 3AB graded embryo on board. Will just have to wait and see if it sticks around. OTD isn’t until 16th Dec so have a while to wait! It’s my birthday on the 20th so if it isn’t good news I plan to have some booze for the first time in 3 months over my birthday and Christmas and then I’ll go back to being good again. The other 3 embryos were still going yesterday but it doesn’t sound like any of them would be good enough to freeze which is disappointing but at least I know we can make an embryo. Our next round of IVF will be private so will be interesting if there is anything they would change for the next go or whether mild IVF would be an option since I only produce a small number of follicles anyway.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend xx

Gensola · 06/12/2020 10:13

My clinic called at 9am and I was still asleep Sad their reception is closed so I just have to wait til they call me back or until tomorrow when I can call the reception and ask for a call back from the lab. So annoyed, I put my phone on silent, so just totally missed the call.

BrandyM · 06/12/2020 10:22

@lucymills1234 Fantastic news. Good to hear the embryologist that called was much more helpful. It makes such big difference doesn’t it?

A 10 cell and an 8 cell on day 3 is fantastic!

My 4 cell on day 3 went on to become a day 6 blast. So there’s every chance your 6 and 5 cells would catch up to blast stage.

Good luck! I’ve got everything crossed for you xx

@lucymills1234 it doesn't sound too bad, you do have good ones there so that is fab! And as you say i've also read some slow ones to pick up last minute so kmon little ones!! 💪🏽💪🏽

@Jane1284 yours sounds good too! Not long to go now until the 16th 🤞🏼🤞🏼 i will keep all crossed! Xx

@Gensola aww noo!! I hate it when this happens. Maybe they call again in a while, it is a bit early to call at 9am on a Sunday 😳

BrandyM · 06/12/2020 10:28

@Gensola Sorry to hear you missed their call. Hopefully they call you back soon. That clinic call very early. They called me at 8am the other day for the day 6 update and if it was the weekend I would’ve missed it!

Try and drop them a message via the portal asking if they can call you back. Not sure if they monitor it on a Sunday but worth a try.

How are you feeling today? Is the pain easing? Are you back to work tomorrow? Xx

@Jane1284 Fantastic news on your transfer! Another milestone smashed:). Welcome to the real slow 2WW! Haha

I really hope it’s a nice early birthday and Xmas pressie for you! Are they calling you tomorrow to update on the other 3?

I really hope you don’t need the next cycle of IVF!

Now to the real challenging question of the 2WW... are you going to hold off testing till OTD or do you think you'll test before that? I started with all the intention in the world to wait till OTD and but increasingly thinking of testing a day early now as I'd rather know on the Sunday than Monday. I’m only 4dp5dt and starting to waver already. Hope you’re stronger than me! 😆 xxx

Gensola · 06/12/2020 10:58

@Jane1284 fingers crossed for your 2WW!

@lucymills1234 that’s great news, lots of good embryos there. Smile

BrandyM · 06/12/2020 11:02

@Sungirl11 hope you're doing well. When are you starting stimming? Are you waiting for AF to arrive? Xx

Clinic called back - 5 of the embryos are developing really well and 2 are a bit behind and might still catch up. Next call will be Tuesday with more details on what grades they are and how many they can freeze.

BrandyM · 06/12/2020 11:23

@Gensola congratulations! That's a fantastic outcome! Fingers crossed for Tuesdays call! Xxx

That sounds great @Gensola - you must be really happy with that! Will be keeping everything crossed for you that they call you with good news on Tuesday. Sounds like you should have a few in the freezer which is great.

Haha. Good question @BrandyM - We’ve made the decision to wait until OTD. It’s a Wednesday and I am off work from the Thursday so no point testing early. If I test early I’ll just stress myself out regardless of whether it is positive or negative so best to wait. I feel fine about it now but give me a few days and I may be singing a different tune Grin

Clinic just called with the surprise news that they have frozen one of the blasts. It is a 4BB so not amazing quality but I am so happy we have one in the freezer. To go from 3 follicles on all my scans to two blasts I am over the moon. Hopefully if we have to do IVF again we can hope for more decent results and my low AMH/AFC won’t be too depressing.

Sungirl11 · 06/12/2020 13:26

@Jane1284 that is fab!!! Well done!

@Gensola great news! I'm so happy they are doing so well 🥰

@BrandyM my af just finished today. I think i'm on short protocol? Not sure how it works... I started on day 2 of af with scan/bloods and my injections of Pergoveris and Gonal F. Today is day 5 and i have scan/bloods tomorrow, Wed & Friday.
If it all goes well i have EC next Sunday.
Pergoveris injections are very painful so my husband (who is a nurse) has given me some tricks (Paracetamol and ice) so i can cope...
Today I need to do the injections myself and I don't know of I will be strong enough 🙈

lucymills1234 · 06/12/2020 16:17

Thanks @Sungirl11 - i hope things run smoothly for you over the coming weeks.

@Gensola those are amazing numbers to have at this stage, I hope the next call is just as positive!

Congrats on a successful transfer @Jane1284 and great news that you have one in the freezer as well! Given how tough the process is, it's nice to hear an example of results exceeding expectations. I hope the 2WW passes swiftly for you!

@BrandyM thanks so much. I'm not sure whether my clinic grades the same way as others but A-E scale was easy to grasp and I was so glad to hear there were options. The difference in how you feel depending who you talk to is massive, which shouldn't be the case but it's the same in any job I suppose.

My clinic will call tomorrow morning with an update whatever the situation is. If there are any decent blasts they may already know I can go in for transfer, or if the embryos need longer they can watch them and call me in later in the day. Tuesday would be the back-up. I'll drop everything and go whenever they tell me! Desperately hoping at least one of my contenders can make it...

MrsF1989 · 07/12/2020 06:40

I caved and tested 7dp5dt and its totally negative. I woke up and my boobs were no longer hurting and felt like AF was on its way, so I said to hubby, I can't take the torture of waiting another 2 days when I know its not worked. We are devastated. I knownit sounds silly but we were convinced it would work first time, im only 31, fit and healthy, BMI of 22 and the reason I wasn't getting pregnant was due to blocked tubes, we also had a 5AA embryo, but nope. I really didnt feel well the morning of transfer, im wondering if doing a freeze all transfer would have had more chance of success. Sorry, I know I'm rambling, I just feel so sad and helpless. 😔 such a heartbreaking process when it doesn't work xx

ivftake3 · 07/12/2020 07:44

@MrsF1989 I'm so sorry to hear those sending lots of love to you. Do you not have to test on day 14 day 7 may be still a bit early, and which test are you using lovely ❤️❤️xxx

Jane1284 · 07/12/2020 08:14

I'm so sorry @MrsF1989 - that must be an awful way to wake up. I'm no expert but is 7dp5dt a bit early to test? My OTD is 11dp5dt which is 4 days later. Are you going to keep taking your progesterone and test again on OTD? I am so sorry. This whole process is so unfair. The stress and pain we all have to go through just to have something that comes so easy to others. It makes me so sad. Sending you lots of love xx

MrsF1989 · 07/12/2020 08:35

Thanks @ivftake3 and @jane1284. It is a bit early but I'm being realistic with time fact there is absolutely nothing there, not even the faintest line. I will keep taking cyclogest, its not really causing me any negative symptoms, so might as well until OTD, then ill test again, just to be on the safe side. But for now, my assumption is, we are out.

We are lucky that we have some frozen, our next best quality is a 4AA, so still a good one 🥰 its so shit xx

ivftake3 · 07/12/2020 08:38

@MrsF1989 I know how you feel I feel for you my lovely. Which test did you use. It's so heartbreaking isn't it. Bless you darling xx

Gensola · 07/12/2020 08:43

@MrsF1989 Fingers crossed it was just too early to test. I know how bitter the disappointment is though, sending lots of strength to you Flowers

lucymills1234 · 07/12/2020 09:55

@MrsF1989 so sorry to hear that, I agree it's good to keep taking the Cyclogest and to test again on OTD, you will at least then know it's a definite result and there's no question around timing. It must be so tough but all the things that make you a good candidate will help you out massively if you do need to try again and your clinic will have insight from this round too. I know it's slim consolation and there are no words.

lucymills1234 · 07/12/2020 10:00

For anyone who has followed along with my process, I've had an update from the clinic this morning and can't quite believe the news.

Three of my four contenders have made it to blastocysts, one is top quality and I'm going in later for transfer, one they'll freeze today and the third is early so they'll let it continue and hopefully it'll be another one for the freezer. I've been literally shaking since they rang.

ivftake3 · 07/12/2020 10:16

@lucymills1234 that's great news lovely ❤️😚💕

Sungirl11 · 07/12/2020 10:39

@lucymills1234 woww!! I'm so happy for you!! That is great news!!

@MrsF1989 i'm so sorry you got a bfn. But it's not over yet! Don't loose total hope before time. If af is not here then it can still be a bfp. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I had scan2 today and have a lot of big follicles already, so starting on the third injections (Fyremadel) today and scan on Wed again.

How is everyone else?

Jane1284 · 07/12/2020 10:51

That is fantastic news @lucymills1234 - so happy for you! Sending you lots of positive vibes for your transfer today. Such wonderful results and always lovely to be surprised by good news for a change. Keeping everything crossed for your last blast to make it to the freezer too. xx
