@Rachae I am so sorry, I am in the same boat, first cycle and failed.

@Jane1284 good luck today, fingers crossed for you 🤞

@Ofpalestsilver you have done so well waiting for OTD, not long to go now!

I had a negative test on Saturday so clinic told me to come off progesterone and I have now started to bleed. Devastated this first cycle has failed, have a follow up meeting with the clinic on the 16th. Planning to go again at beginning of January although husband moaning about spending another £7000 😥.

Sorry I have been rubbish at commenting and supporting over the last week, have taken it really hard!

Ofpalestsilver · 30/11/2020 11:23

I'm so sorry to hear that @dragonfly1978 That must be devastating. I don't blame you for taking the time you need to deal with this. You've got to do what's right for you. Take good care of yourself. And January will come round soon enough.

Gensola · 30/11/2020 11:46

@dragonfly1978 So sorry to hear this, take care of yourself over the rest of December. 💛

Rachae · 30/11/2020 11:55

Thanks for the well wishes and I'm really sorry @dragonfly1978
I won't be doing another one until March as we're going to get back to fitness and healthy eating (I haven't moved in 8 weeks!) and going on a ski trip for some soul food xx

BrandyM · 30/11/2020 12:00

@dragonfly1978 I'm so sorry to hear your news. It's such a rollercoaster this process. I hope they provide you with some answers on 16th. Take care of yourself in the meantime and we are here for you xxx

@Rachae good idea to go back to fitness and healthy eating. It all helps with egg quality! Are you going to have a debrief with the clinic before March or are you going to leave that to the new year? Xx

Egg collection is booked for Wednesday! I will find out later what time I need to take my trigger. Drug free day tomorrow, which is a relief. Feeling nervous about the procedure.

ShiMo · 30/11/2020 13:52

@dragonfly1978 so sorry to hear this, definitely have a drink or two in December as you’ve certainly earned it!

Good luck for EC @Gensola

BrandyM · 30/11/2020 14:11

@Gensola great news! Honestly, you've got nothing to worry about on the EC front. Obviously everyone is different but it was completely pain free for me as we are in the same clinic, I'd expect them to use the same sedation. The most painful part was the injection for the sedation and the period like pain after the procedure. You'll be fine!

Drug free days are the best! Enjoy them😊

How many eggs are ready for collection? Xx

Gensola · 30/11/2020 14:17

@BrandyM thanks Smile I will be glad when it is over! She said I had 18 follicles which were above 12mm, of which 3 were above 20mm, then another 15 follicles which were smaller than 12 and probably not mature. The uterus lining is 8.8 which she said was good too, so fingers crossed.

BrandyM · 30/11/2020 14:24

@Gensola that's a lot of follicles - no wonder you were stating to feel a bit unwell. Lining is looking great too. Best of luck with the trigger tonight! Xx

lucymills1234 · 30/11/2020 15:30

Hi @Gensola so many follicles! Wow. Do they plan to collect from every follicle above 12mm?

I had my final scan today and have been booked in for EC on Wednesday as well. My baseline had showed 8 follicles for this cycle and last Friday I had 3 around the right size (one 17 and two 15) with 5 others coming up behind. Today, it looks like one has annoyingly gone past where they'd want it (25mm) but I have two at 22, a 20mm, two at 17mm, a 16mm and a 14mm. An 11mm has come from nowhere too. I have to take another dose of Ovaleap late afternoon and then the trigger tonight. They said they'll collect everything they can, but hoping for six mature. Fingers crossed. My only worry is that the two 22mm don't go past their best too...

Lining is 11mm. Is that good/bad? I have zero idea!

lucymills1234 · 30/11/2020 15:46

@BrandyM sorry if I missed anything - have you heard any more from the lab?

Gensola · 30/11/2020 15:56

Argh they’ve now said delay til Thursday and I’m really worried the three big ones will get too big and then the smaller ones won’t catch up so it will have been pointless Sad and I feel so sick and uncomfortable, I really was so excited not to have to take more stims. Now have to stim tonight and tomorrow morning then trigger tomorrow eve. 😭

lucymills1234 · 30/11/2020 16:03

@Gensola they are probably thinking it will help get more of the 18 which are over 12mm... they must be confident either that there's little risk your largest follicles will get too big, or that the number they'll gain from an extra day of stims is more significant than any you'll lose.

I know it's so hard to do but I keep telling myself to trust in the process, because the clinic does this day in, day out. It's grotty that you're feeling uncomfortable but hang in there, at this point you've come so far that you can handle another day!

MrsF1989 · 30/11/2020 16:34

@Gensola thats a great response, I had egg collection last week and my last scan they saw 15 more mature ones and 12 smaller ones, in the end they got 18 altogether .

And @BrandyM is right, egg collection really isn't anything to worry about, you have no idea what is happening and then when you come round its mild discomfort but manageable.

I had my transfer today, so I am officially PUPO and on the 2WW... 🙏 xxx

MrsF1989 · 30/11/2020 16:36

Hope everyone is okay 🥰. So sorry @Rachaeand @dragonfly1978 for your sad news, it must be so so hard 😥. Sending you both a big hug xx

Jane1284 · 30/11/2020 16:55

Hello girls. Thank you for all your kind messages of support for todays' EC. Sorry for my delayed response, I was having a couple of days off the internet for my mental health to prepare myself for today.
Egg collection seems to have gone as well as i could have hoped and they got 4 eggs (one of my little ones must have grown since Friday- probably won't be mature though.) Now the nervous wait to see if any of them have fertilised. Good news was that my partners sperm sample was decent and his morphology has gone up to 4 % (was always at 3) and all other markers above the required level. Since we won't be having ICSI they can't tell us if any of the eggs are mature but hoping that we get at least one to fertilise overnight. I think due to my low number of eggs they are thinking it will be a day 3 transfer however they may decide on day 3 to continue to 5, depending on the quality. Now to wait!

I hope you are all doing well in these stressful times.

@Rachae I'm so sorry for your result. All the best for your next round when and if you feel ready for it. xx

Sungirl11 · 30/11/2020 17:25

Hi girls!
So we had our nurse consultation.
All good to go, had a blood test and went to order all the meds.
Have another blood test tomorrow too.
When my period starts, day2 I start treatment! 🤞🏼
I'm so glad i'm not afraid of needles! I have 3 tummy injections daily that go up to 6 before egg collection 🙈
Apart from the 4 blood ones that get done...

Is it the same for everyone???

@MrsF1989 WOW fingers crossed for you!!! How exciting!
@Jane1284 fingers crossed for you too! Hopefully you will have a good one for you 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

@Rachae @dragonfly1978 i'm so sorry :( I really hope it all goes well for you next time, sure it will! Keep strong ♥️

Kitttycatt · 30/11/2020 17:35

@dragonfly1978 @Rachae I'm so sorry to hear that your first go didn't work, this is such a rollercoaster, sending hugs.

@Jane1284 that's great you got more eggs than you were expecting. Hoping they all fertilise.

I've been really quiet on here as I've had nothing to report. Had my down regulation scan today and they found two follicles of about 30mm each on my ovaries! Not great. Last scan was clear back in June. They took bloods to see if they are producing hormones, if they are I think my cycle will be cancelled as it's so close to Xmas. I'll get the results tomorrow. Can't believe I've been taking buserelin for over 3 weeks and it might not be working!

lucymills1234 · 30/11/2020 18:06

@Jane1284 good to hear all went smoothly for you! Great news on the sperm morphology and maybe even egg no 4 will confound your expectations.

Hope you get to relax and take it easy this evening.

BrandyM · 30/11/2020 18:59

Hi all,

So the lab called this morning for day 3 progress update.

Of the 4 fertilised eggs, 3 have become high quality day 3 embryos and have done exactly what they want them to do (I.e. they have 8 cells etc.). 1 is lagging behind with only 4 cells. They said this one might also catch up to become a blast on day 5 (but it’s chances are lower than the other 3).

They graded the 3 embryos as ‘Grade 4’. The grading system is between 1-4 with 1 being low quality and 4 high quality.

They said they won’t call me on day 5. They said to just turn up on Wednesday 10:30am for the transfer. I said what if none of the embryos make it to day 5, they said because of their day 3 quality, there is low risk of them not becoming a blast.

I can’t tell you how pleased I’m with this update.

It’ll be beyond my wildest dream if I end up with 1 to transfer and 2 to freeze. But trying not to get ahead of myself just yet! 😆

Celebrating this small win for now until the next challenge. Whatever that might be.

Xxx

@BrandyM wow!! That is such good news!!!

Gensola · 30/11/2020 19:21

@BrandyM oh congratulations that’s such great news!
Have they put you on meds between EC and transfer? I’ve been wondering that. Good luck for the transfer on Weds! we would have been there at the same time again but they delayed my EC til Thurs Grin

MrsF1989 · 30/11/2020 19:28

@BrandyM thats fantastic news!!! 🎉 so pleased for you. Bring on transfer day!!
