Hello 😊,

How is everyone?

Sorry I've been quiet, just been getting my head round everything to get myself jn a more positive mindset. I ended up starting my period on Tuesday 8dp5dt, however, super light and dark brown (sorry TMI!). But obviously after a negative test I just thought all over...so this morning we decided to do the test given to us by the hospital to drawer a line under it and move on to the next, but there was a super super faint line (so faint yiu can't see it in a picture), so we bought another test to be sure and used my second morning weekend this appeared. Im not thinking for a second it will be a viable pregnancy but its nice to think something must have happened. We will test again tomorrow, just to be sure. I have also increased my progesterone as I know i have low progesterone levels (I am self treating 🤣, im sure it cant hurt!).

Never straight forward in the infertility world!!

Roo45 · 10/12/2020 09:57

@mrsf1989 could it be implantation bleeding given how light it was?x

ShiMo · 10/12/2020 10:04

@MrsF1989 that looks like a positive! As @Roo45 says it could be implantation bleed or a drop/change in hormones as it was so light?

@Sungirl11 I think that’s good news as you’ve responded brilliantly to the stims! Fingers crossed EC goes well.

I’ve had to take a day to get my head round things! Of my 7 eggs retrieved, 6 were mature and only 3 fertilised. I’m quite despondent about that if I’m honest. The embryologist said she will only call me on Friday, which will be day 3, if I need to come in for a transfer then but otherwise, it will be a day 5 transfer if they are looking good. I think @Jane1284 you were in a very similar position? Not easy is it, and worried none will make it to day 5!

MrsF1989 · 10/12/2020 11:02

I dont think it would be implantation bleeding, its still kind of going also, this morning typically, has turned bright red 🙈. We will test again tomorrow, see whats happening. Its just nice to know something happened, so I think next time for FET if they give me slightly different meds (maybe higher dose of progesterone), it might stick. Xx

ShiMo · 10/12/2020 11:07

@MrsF1989 can you request a blood test after your OTD, if it’s still coming up as positive?

Jane1284 · 10/12/2020 11:37

Good luck for the Egg Collection @Sungirl11- is it still booked in for tomorrow?

That looks like a positive to me @MrsF1989 - I see you think you have your period. Could there be any other causes for the bleeding or do you think it is potentially a chemical? I guess if you keep testing and the line gets darker it may mean that it is a viable pregnancy? I hope you are feeling OK today? xx

I'm sorry you are feeling despondent @ShiMo - this process is so tough mentally! I found the waiting for the call on day 1 the worst. i felt sick with worry. It really does only take one so the fact they are talking about a day 5 transfer bodes well as it means they think you should get to 5 day blast. I was quite happy with our EC as I had 4 eggs retrieved. But I was worried I would have fertilisation issues as this was our first round and most people have some drop-off overnight. I was very lucky that they all fertilised. By day 3- 2 were looking good and 2 were borderline. In the end I got 2 blasts. So overall I am actually quite happy with my results since I only had 3 follicles visible on my progress scans. But I was sick with worry the whole time waiting for updates. It was very up and down. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you xx

ShiMo · 10/12/2020 11:53

Thanks @Jane1284, it’s so hard not to overanalyse everything. I was told to expect a call before midday on day 1 and they didn’t ring me till about 11.50am so I was tearing my hair out all morning waiting!

Jane1284 · 10/12/2020 11:57

I feel your pain @ShiMo - i actually asked them to call my partner on day 1 as i couldn't handle the stress of waiting for the call. In the end they called him when he was in the shower and I had to grab his phone - typical! ha xx

lucymills1234 · 10/12/2020 13:07

@MrsF1989 I think you're right to test again tomorrow and see what you find. It's great that you can already see a positive about learnings for next time if needed.

@ShiMo Fingers crossed for your next update. I had 11 eggs collected and 5 fertilised, so I understand you feeling disappointed with the fertilisation rate. What I've realised going through this process for the first time is that although it's good to hear other people's stories, they will be no predictor of your own. The whole process is so wrapped up in stats and data but I have to remind myself that only by going through it will I know what my own body is capable of. I got my first update on day 2 and felt totally despondent. My clinic weren't going to call again until day 5 either, but I asked for a day 3 call - would you consider doing that?

@Sungirl11 on the good or bad news question, they'll base the trigger decision on when you'll have the largest number in the right window, so easier said than done but I'd try to see it as good!

@Jane1284 @BrandyM how are you both getting on with the wait?

I've been having some cramp-like pain on and off these last few days, nothing bad enough to take paracetamol for but enough to keep me on my toes wondering if a period is imminent! No bleeding. I know it could just be a side effect of meds though.

Jane1284 · 10/12/2020 14:24

I am coping OK so far thanks @lucymills1234 - the only symptoms I have had are mild period pain like cramps and very erect nipples Hmm (sorry if TMI). Both started after EC when I started taking progesterone so I am putting them both down to medication. Definitely don't have a strong feeling that it has worked but trying to live in ignorant bliss until next Wednesday.
How are you getting on? x

Sungirl11 · 10/12/2020 15:59

Thanks girls!!
I got a call from the head nurse and told me my hormone is quiet so they will see me tomorrow for scan and blood again and then they will decide when to trigger.
@Jane1284 no EC tomorrow, just normal scan and probably EC on Monday if my hormone is still as quiet as it was yesterday.

I'm a bit nervous, my mother is going downhill with her health really quick and I might have to freeze and stop treatment so I can be with her (she lives abroad)... 😔

Gensola · 10/12/2020 16:27

I have spoken to my clinic and will be starting my frozen cycle on day 1 of my period this month so DH and I have to fill in a lot of forms and then I’ll be prescribed more drugs (hurrah) which I will start taking when AF comes. If my cycle is regular that means starting drugs just before Christmas and transfer about 15-20 days after that so in early Jan. Excited that we are moving forward but realise I may have to reign in the Christmas celebrations somewhat to keep body in good condition Grin

Gensola · 10/12/2020 16:29

@Sungirl11 good luck with your scan, hope it all goes well. Try not to worry about a frozen transfer as the statistics these days are that frozens are actually more likely to succeed than fresh Smile this is what I told myself when I was bitterly disappointed not to have a fresh transfer last week. Xx

Emmalouise11 · 10/12/2020 18:53

Hey @Gensola I’ll be doing it at the same time as you start the medication at the end of this month when AF comes and will transfer early jan! Good luck to you x

Mancbear88 · 11/12/2020 07:34

I’m 9dp5dt and it’s negative on a frer. Stark white! I’ll obviously keep up the medication and retest on Tuesday as there’s a test day for a reason but I think it’s likely this one is a negative. I’m pretty gutted but I’ve had a cry and I’ve picked myself up.

I’m just a little worried that with transfer 1 being a miscarriage and transfer 2 possibly failing there’s something genetically wrong with the embryos, they’re 5AA blasts. But I think I’m going from 0 to 100 there and I’m probably just unlucky (explains my lack of Euromillions wins too)

I’ll retest on Tuesday and if it’s negative I’ll have a big block of Brie and Pate followed by a bottle of wine all whilst in the hottest bath I can tolerate Xmas Smile.

Then we go again in the new year, I’ve got 1 5AA and 1 6AA left. Hopefully that will mean when (positive thoughts) the next one works my husband can come to the scans. After finding out at my 12 week scan the baby had died I have a big fear of going, so that would be a relief.

Good luck to everyone waiting for news Smile

ivftake3 · 11/12/2020 10:18

@BrandyM how's everything going cx

MrsF1989 · 11/12/2020 11:27

@Mancbear88 so sorry for your BFN, its so hard!

Sounds like they are good things to cheer you up a bit. Im sure your embryos are absolutely fine, sounds like some great quality ones too!! Xx

Gensola · 11/12/2020 11:48

@Mancbear88 so sorry to hear about the BFN. This process is horrible. It’s great you have such high quality embryos still to use, though. And some good things to comfort you lined up too. Flowers

lucymills1234 · 11/12/2020 15:37

Hi all, Happy Friday.

Sorry to hear that @Mancbear88. I think you're right to test again and that's a good plan you have with the brie & wine if it's the same result. The two blasts in the freezer are great quality and maybe one of those is the one.

@Gensola glad they can get your transfer done early in the new year, although I know you didn't want a freeze all the delay actually wasn't too bad and you get a little break to recover first.

@Jane1284 like you, I don't get a strong feeling that it has worked but I'm trying not to get too analytical about possible 'symptoms' as they can indicate either way. The cramps I had on Tues, Weds, and yesterday don't seem to be there so much today. Can't say I've specifically noticed anything else. Hopefully, all still to play for!

BrandyM · 12/12/2020 05:28

@Mancbear88 I'm so sorry to hear that got BFN. I'm so glad you're keeping up the medication because 9dp is still early. I really hope you get BFP by Tuesday. I've got everything crossed for you hun! Xxx

BrandyM · 12/12/2020 06:31

I got impatient (and couldn’t sleep) so tested just now and got BFP! I'm 10dp5dt today and the results came up so quickly (and very dark) on all the 3 tests I did. I've never seen a line (even a faint one) in the 10 years we've been trying. I'm in tears😭

I'm cautiously optimistic but acutely aware that OTD isn't till Monday so the tests might be picking up the trigger. Although I'm hoping that the trigger has left my system by now as I took it 17 days ago now.

I'll test again tomorrow and Monday morning. Terrified it'll turn negative, but for now, I’m feeling very hopeful.

@BrandyM hurrah! Huge congratulations! Flowers those look like pretty strong positives to me!

MrsF1989 · 12/12/2020 08:10

@BrandyM amazing!! Congratulations 🥰🥰!!

I think I might be pregnant too, I did three tests yesterday 11dp5dt and they seem pretty conclusive. I was a bit worried because I've had a bit of blood, but that can be normal apparently and its pretty much stopped now. 🙏 cautiously optimistic, have my scan booked in for 29th December.

MF1981 · 12/12/2020 08:12

Great news @BrandyM and @MrsF1989!!

BrandyM · 12/12/2020 09:06

Thank you @Gensola, @MrsF1989 and @MF1981

Huge congrats @MrsF1989! That pic is conclusively positive! So happy for you! Hope it's a sticky one for both of us! The worry never stops does it? And yes a bit of blood is completely normal from what I've heard.

Did you call the clinic to inform them? If so did they tell you how many weeks you're? Calling mine on Monday if it's still BFP by then! Xxx
