Thank you for the welcome- it's so good to read about all of your experiences and outcomes.

First injection this evening... any tips?!

Freezerbump · 13/10/2020 17:53

@Mctm123 awesome news! Xx
@MrsCassiopeia what injections are you on poppet? I seem to have got the hang of it now and am bruise free :) but only on buserilyn.. not sure how I'll fare when the other ones join in!

MrsCassiopeia · 13/10/2020 17:58

@Freezerbump
I'm on Bemfola pre-loaded injection pens to start with and then will add Cetrotide in a few days.

dragonfly1978 · 13/10/2020 20:55

@Mctm123 amazing news!!!! I bet you are thrilled, keep us all posted!

Raggity19 · 13/10/2020 21:10

@Mctm123 that’s amazing!!! Congratulations on being PUPO! Xxx

Freezerbump · 13/10/2020 22:14

@MrsCassiopeia ah... I'm not sure I'll be much use in that case!
Generally pinch an inch on the side of your tummy.. I do it between my hip and belly button as that seems less sensitive on me, pop it in nice and straight, slowly release, hold it in for a count of 3 and whip it out quick and straight, I don't hold the pinch once needle is in or it tends to bleed :)
Hope that helps!
I'm trying to sleep but with scan tomorrow I'm starting to think.. what if this actually works... may sound daft as of course that's the goal, but I've been so busy managing my expectations based on low probability it's starting to dawn on me that it might just work reading all of your stories!
I think I'm a weirdo.. and having a hot flush.. maybe these injections do affect me after all.. god help me with stims...

Mctm123 · 14/10/2020 09:48

Thanks @Raggity19 @dragonfly1978 & @Freezerbump!!!

Well good old cyclogest gives me bad constipation and I have been like that since egg collection and now I’ve gone the opposite way! Now I’m worried it’s gonna affect things why do we worry about every single thing arghhhhh xx

Mctm123 · 14/10/2020 10:02

Good luck with the scan today @Freezerbump xx

Mctm123 · 14/10/2020 10:02

ivfhope3 · 14/10/2020 10:06

Raggity19 · 14/10/2020 10:43

@Mctm123 don’t worry it’s a common side effect!! And someone told me once the embies in its like a little seed in loads of jelly, you won’t be able to move it!! But I do get where you’re coming from, I’ve been taking impryl and pregnacare to prepare for this cycle and I read last night online that impryl is meant to be taken by itself. So now I’m in a complete panic that I’ve ruined it all!!!!

Raggity19 · 14/10/2020 10:43

I’m really sorry to hear this @ivfhope3 I hope you can get to the bottom of it xx

Mctm123 · 14/10/2020 11:17

We just love a good worry don’t we @Raggity19 haha. I’m sure we will both be fine!! Xx

Hope you get sorted @ivfhope3 xx

Emmalouise11 · 14/10/2020 12:21

Hope your ok @Mctm123. Just received my medication was not expecting the amount that came lol must admit it’s put me off a bit. Hopefully by next week when I start the tablets I’ve forgotten about the rest of it. Hoping to speak to a nurse as I want to know why they want to control my cycle bit confused at that. Does anyone have any ideas as to why they would?

Freezerbump · 14/10/2020 12:27

@ivfhope3 that's pants... hopefully you are getting sorted as I type.. fingers crossed for you.

As for me, with very little sleep and a very poor choice of skinny jeans that I then had to wrestle my way out of I've just got back from my scan... I'm officially turned off, lining skinny and body quiet... (hence my personal summer moments during the night!)

So I'm now waiting for a call to see about turning me on again... 😳 phase one completed, phase 2 approaching :/

Freezerbump · 14/10/2020 13:05

@Emmalouise11 hi there, this is the phase I'm in at the moment, basically they turn your cycle off and put you in to a sort of temporary menopause, this means that they can take control of your cycle, which means that you take down reg meds for a couple of weeks (I've just done this) then go for a scan to check your cycle is in sleep mode.
Then they turn your cycle on again, this helps to control your egg growth and encourages them all to grow at the same time (instead of just one like a normal month)
You also keep taking meds which stop you ovulating until the eggs are ready, so that they can catch them just at the right moment and suck them out.
You can do it alongside your natural cycle also, but I'm fully controlled.
Hope this helps!

Emmalouise11 · 14/10/2020 13:54

Hi @Freezerbump I’ve got to take progynova for 8 days and then go for a scan, nothing has really been explained to me as to why I thought maybe they control your cycle if you have irregular periods so that’s why I was a bit confused as mines regular so I thought I would do it with my normal cycle but I have no idea how this works. Are you having a long or short protocol?

Freezerbump · 14/10/2020 14:05

@Emmalouise11 I'm on the long, my periods are regular also but I think this just means that they can make sure everything happens at the right time :)

I've been on buserilyn since the 26/9 so 3 weeks this coming sat, I think I start stims today but just waiting for a call back from the clinic

dragonfly1978 · 14/10/2020 14:31

@Emmalouise11 I asked exactly the same as I have regular periods and was confused why they wanted to control my cycle. They said it's that they want my cycle to go to sleep and that produces better results from stimulation. I decided to go with it and hope it produces good results!!!
