November IVF/FET

... Too soon?! 😁😉

Been waiting on a FET since we were put on July's list and I've heard from our clinic this week that I've to call them when AF rocks up in October for a November FET. We had our fresh cycle in January, had a BFP, but found there was no heartbeat at the 11 week scan in March (MMC) - it's been a bit of a roller-coaster so far this year (as if covid craziness wasn't enough!).

Found having a thread to go through it all with a massive emotional support, so looking for some MN buddies to do it all again with. Good luck ladies and looking forward to 'meeting' you 🍀🙂

Hello @SpyroC 👋 so sorry to hear about your loss. Fingers crossed for you this week, hope everything goes okay. I've heard lots of people say not to get too hung up on the numbers (easier said than done!) - 🤞 your smaller number of follicles are ready to produce super eggs!

I also have a low AMH for my age (6.3 at 31) and this is our first cycle. I've learned so much already! Hoping AF turns up soon so we can get started 🤞

BonTon · 01/11/2020 17:30

Great to hear everyone’s clinics have said they will remain open. Another cancellation would just be so gutting! I’m hopeful that’s the case too as the clinics have so many covid safe procedures in place now 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Well done on the injection @TheGlitterFairy!

Glad to hear the progynova hasn’t had any side effects @BambiOnIce80 and great effort on the 10k 😅 the weather’s supposed to perk up this week so you’ve inspired me to go out for longer run at some point.

@PineappleC good luck with the appt tomorrow.

Hello 👋 @SpyroC, it sounds like you’ve had quite an ordeal, sorry to hear that. I really hope it’s third time lucky for you. Will you have a fresh transfer?

@mcgee123 peanut butter biscuits🤤

I have my endometrial scratch on Tuesday morning. I’ve had a cervical biopsy before for abnormal cells so I’m hoping it’s no worse than that 🙈. In and out in 30 mins so can’t be too bad I guess

ChicaXS · 01/11/2020 19:24

Hello all! I was on the September thread and thought I’d say hello. Having a FET this month, on day two of progynova (CD 3).... so far so good! Struggling with sugar cravings this month and bad back pain which is leaving me lazy but besides that - all is well. It’s my first FET so have no idea what to expect. Just praying my clinic won’t cancel due to lockdown!

X

BambiOnIce80 · 01/11/2020 20:48

Good luck with your scan and bloods tomorrow @PineappleC 🍀 I quite fancied a natural FET, but my clinic isn't keen on them in the current climate 😏 Would definitely consider it in the future 🔮

Oooh, your afternoon sounds perfect @MGee123 👌 I hope AF doesn't keep you waiting long 🤞

Always room for one more @SpyroC 😊 So sorry to hear about what happened with your last cycle 💐 I think there's quite a lot of us here in the same boat, sadly, so totally understand what you've been through 😔 Keeping everything crossed for all of us this cycle 🤞🍀🤞🍀

Thank you @BonTon, I did manage the 10k - completely surprised myself there! 🏃🏻‍♀️💪 I've really been struggling with the 5k's in the week, so thought I'd be on a hiding for nothing attempting a long one, but no! 😄 It's got me thinking about a 15k next weekend now 🤔 Good luck with your scratch on Tuesday 🍀

And welcome @ChicaXS 👋 I'm day 2 of progynova too, albeit CD4 here 💊 🙂 Two Not doing so well with resisting the sugar cravings here... two tubs of Ben and Jerry's Birthday Cake ice cream made it into my freezer today and I don't think they'll be staying there long! 😳 It's my first FET too, so we can tackle the unknown together! 💪

@mgee123 we changed clinics and are now at ARGC. They do a monitoring cycle to check my hormones and see if they're good enough to do a natural cycle. I really hope so because my body does not get on well with the medication! Really hope you either get AF quickly so you can start, or some nice surprising news! I know what you mean - it takes a lot to not get excited when you have anything out of the ordinary but there is always that little bit of hope and possibility!

@SpyroC good to see you and glad that youre getting close to EC! 40 sounds okay (mine was around that naturally) and with extra lubion that sounds really promising! I really wish they would just test routinely for peace of mind - the test only cost £40! I really hope the EC goes well and definitely agree not to get caught up on numbers yet (obvs easier said than done!)

@bambionice80 that's a good point - I didn't consider that there might be a change due to the lockdown. I think that would be a toigh choice for me if they said I had to do a medicated as I just didn't respond to the Progynova or Cyclogest very well. Although this clinic are militant on monitoring and testing which is why we moved over, so maybe it would be okay! Well done on your 10k! Thats fantastic 😊 I managed 5 miles and felt very windswept afterwards (we're on the coast so it's pretty wild at the moment!)

And thank you for all the good lucks! I will let you know how we get on! 😊xx

TheGlitterFairy · 02/11/2020 07:17

Good luck with your appt today @PineappleC 🤞

BonTon · 02/11/2020 11:12

I had a random call from my clinic today so automatically assumed it was to cancel. Luckily it was just to take payment for the scratch tomorrow 😅😅😅

The clinic pointed to a reassuring statement from the HFEA about clinic closures... here’s the link if anyone is interested... www.hfea.gov.uk/treatments/covid-19-and-fertility-treatment/

ivfjourney5 · 02/11/2020 12:14

Hi all, I'm very optimistically joining this thread. I was on the Sept thread then had a cancelled FET, had another attempt in Oct which also got cancelled. This is my 4th attempt to actually have a transfer. I've started progynova this morning, please everyone pray for me 😂🤞🏼

ChicaXS · 02/11/2020 12:28

Hi @BambiOnIce80 thank you so much for the warm welcome! I’m glad we’re in sync! Great to have a buddy 👍👶🏼
Fingers crossed for us all!
@ivfjourney5 I remember you from the sept thread! Praying nov will be the month for you! X

BambiOnIce80 · 02/11/2020 13:36

I'm on the coast too @PineappleC, so was being punted around all over the place! 🌬️ Excellent work on the 5 miles 💪

That's a really helpful link, thanks @BonTon 🙂 Just got to hope that everyone follows the rules and then the hospitals won't get overwhelmed 🤞🔮

Sorry to hear about your run of bad luck with the cancellations @ivfjourney5 💐 Day 3 of progynova here, so similar time line 🙂

You're welcome @ChicaXS 😘 When are you due your lining scan? Mine seems to be a long way away 😏

SpyroC · 02/11/2020 17:40

Thanks for the warm welcome

@MGee123 my AMH was 5 in January when I was 31. I've responded better than they thought last time but this time I have a Max of 5 follicles big enough to contain eggs. Previously i've had 10+ but both times I got 6&7 eggs when they thought I'd get 9-10. I hope it's not the case that half of my 5 are empty 😬🙈. I did a double trigger this time so hopefully that will help. 🤞🏻 your af soon arrives.

@BonTon yes this is a fresh cycle. Sadly, I never get anything to freeze 😔. Good luck for tomorrow, I've not tried a scratch before but it seems they help plenty of people.

@ChicaXS I feel you on the cravings. My body is just craving carbs! I can't wait to get the eggs out so I can indulge a little bit.

@PineappleC I really don't get why they don't offer it either! My clinic aren't great at that side of things. I hope your appointment went well today

🤞🏻🤞🏻 got you this time around @ivfjourney5

I'm impressed with all the running! I did couch to 5k before all this then I hurt my back and then ivf so that was that! I did my double trigger last night and am all set for ec in the morning. Eek! I'm having a chippy tea tomorrow night as I can't remember the last time I had one as I've been high protein low carbs, lots of veg for months. At least I have that to look forward to! 😂

ivfjourney5 · 02/11/2020 18:34

I've just read back through the whole thread, wow there's been some journeys before this point, hopefully it's our month this month ladies!

Hey @ChicaXS 👋🏼 sorry to come across you again in these circumstances. Nice to see a friendly name though

Thanks @BambiOnIce80 and @SpyroC!

My lining scan is booked in for Fri 13th, I have enough bad luck at lining scans without it being on that date 😂

PineappleC · 02/11/2020 18:40

Thanks everyone! It went well today. My lining was 8.4mm on cd11, whereas when I've done a medicated cycle it's just about scraped 7.0mm on cd18!! This is only a monitoring one though, hopegully the real thing nect cycle will be just as good!

They did say my thyroid was a bit high, so I have been prescribed thyroxine. Also, because of an AFC of 22 they've prescribed metformin. Apparently both help implantation and reduce miscarriage risk. Interesting! Anyone else had these?

@bambionice80 well done to you too then in that case! I akways appreciste getting home after runs like thar! What coast are you on? I'm south!

@spyroC good luck for tomorrow! 🤞

PineappleC · 02/11/2020 18:42

Sorry about all the spelling mistakes - my phone does not like me very much!

Lepatz · 02/11/2020 21:44

@BonTon Yes, with UCLH too :) Though I’ve only had one transfer, me and OH had a LOT of investigations and pre-treatment, so I know the place well too! Yes, they are lovely :). Good luck with the scratch tomorrow. When do you expect your transfer to happen?

Hahaha @BanbiOnIce80 - your Shining reference is a strong visual!! Also well done on the 10k! Sounds blissful. I’ve been walking 5-10km a day, but it’s definitely not the same as a run. Might try a light one in a day or two….

I stopped the norethisterone on Friday, and AF arrived this morning… or so I thought! I had two hours of bleeding, and now nothing. Which is annoying, as I booked for my baseline scan if for Thursday already. Figure I’ll give it til tomorrow, then call to rebook though hopefully won’t need to. On the plus side - the clinic sounds like it’s open, so yay!

Good luck for the transfer on Friday @TheGlitterFairy !!

@MGee123 - Running and baking sound like a solid body-prep combo! I hear you on the heart vs head question. I often spot quite a bit for the few days before a period (like this morning!) and every time, I think… maybe this month it’s implantation… That’s hope for you!

Hi @SpyroC. Sorry to hear about the your last cycle, it sounds horrendous. Good luck for the EC tomorrow, fingers crossed those follicles are working hard xx

Welcome to the thread @ChicaXS I’m also on my first FET. So far seeming a lot less intense than the fresh. Hopefully starting prohynova this week x

@ivfjourney5 Oh, the delays are agonising! Keeping everything crossed for you. And Friday the 13th can do one! x

@PineappleC Yay for the lining scan, a sign of good things to come :) Which south coast are you on? I’m currently in Brighton, though going back to London for lockdown….

Lepatz · 02/11/2020 21:45

Oops, Also some spelling mistakes for me - I meant @BambiOnIce80 of course!

TheGlitterFairy · 02/11/2020 22:07

@BonTon good luck with your scratch tomorrow and @SpyroC good luck with your collection! Fingers crossed all goes well and we’ll be on the 2ww together!

Well done on the run @BambiOnIce80 over the weekend! My energy levels have plummeted again with these injections - and felt quite queasy earlier after the progesterone one 😬🤢 Anyone else had side effects from this? Hoping that it means it’s working and that it’ll settle down.

Hi @ChicaXS and @ivfjourney5 👋

@PineappleC good work on your lining today. 💪🙌 so, they do a trial run on this cycle and check all the measurements etc then go for it on the next one? Great you’re over the 8mm mark naturally!!

TheGlitterFairy · 02/11/2020 22:09

Thanks @Lepatz - just saw your message. It’s been a long Monday - 4 more sleeps.....safe travels back to London

MGee123 · 03/11/2020 05:34

Hello @ChicaXS 👋 hope you're back pain settles soon and good luck with your cycle 🤞 And hello @ivfjourney5 👋 wishing you luck too and 🤞 also!

Hope egg collection goes well @SpyroC! Will be thinking of you. I will also be doing a double trigger when we get to that point. Hope it's worked for you 🤞

@PineappleC good job on the lining! No have no experience with the drug recommendations but hopefully someone else might to reassure you 👍

@BonTon good luck for your scratch today. Hope it goes well and you feel okay after.

🤞 AF has sorted itself out for you today @Lepatz so you can have your baseline scan.

No AF here still, and boobs still very full and sore. Bloody typical! I'm CD 27 today, normally more like 24/25 but can vary. Am going to give it a few more days and then might do a pregnancy test if still no sign and I feel brave enough 🙈

MGee123 · 03/11/2020 05:36

It's exciting that it's all starting to kick off on this thread now! I know I don't know you all, but I really do hope these cycles go well for us all. I am in awe of the strength of some of the women posting on these threads. I've got a positive feeling - 🤞 we've got this! 💪

TheGlitterFairy · 03/11/2020 07:01

@MGee123 hope AF turns up soon for you. Always the way that she stays away when you’re waiting to get on with things.

Agree with your words above; really hope these cycles go well for us all 💪💪 🙏🙏

BambiOnIce80 · 03/11/2020 09:25

Good luck for EC @SpyroC! 🍀🍀🍀 Enjoy your well deserved chippy afterwards! 🍟😋

Oooh, I hope your lining scan on Friday the 13th is an end to your bad luck @ivfjourney5! 🤞 I'm 4 days after you for the lining scan when I'll have been on the progynova for 18 days (my clinic seems to take longer than everyone else's 😏).

Very glad to hear your test scan/bloods went well @PineappleC 👍 I know thyroid function needs to be well under control for TTC/a healthy pregnancy, but not heard about metformin before. Your clinic sound like they've got you well covered 😊 I'm on the east coast of Scotland, so very chilly and blowy up here now 🌬️❄ Still going to force myself out for a 5k today though 🏃🏻‍♀️ I'm soooooo looking forward to 2 weeks of no major exercise in the TWW! 😂

@Lepatz I think I'll be joining you on the nice walks once the TWW is here 🙂 I hope AF stops messing you about (and that you don't end up with a scene out of The Shining! 😜) 🤞 How are things looking this morning?

I remember having fairly unpleasant constipation on the utrogestan last time @TheGlitterFairy 😳 Hopefully your side effects are a sign that your progesterone levels are super high 🍑💉🤞

Good luck with the sctach today @BonTon 🍀 I hope you get a lazy afternoon on the sofa out of it 🛋️

AF has a habit of going awol when we're waiting to start IVF @MGee123, but I hope she stops messing you about soon... unless it's a sign of something much more exciting! 🤩 Keeping my fingers crossed for you that it's a sign of something much more exciting! 🤞🤞🤞

👋 @ChicaXS and @ivfjourney5. Hope things go well for you both this cycle 🙏🙏

@SpyroC best of luck for egg collection.

How funny @PineappleC that you’re lining is better without the drugs! Sounds like a natural cycle is the way to go for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻I have polycystic ovaries and have heard of others with PCOS being prescribed metformin - does it regulate blood sugar maybe? I haven’t had it myself.

@Lepatz on the basis of my first transfer, I think week beginning 30 November all being well 🤞🏻 I think you’re a couple of weeks ahead of me? Fingers crossed your period shows soon... I’ve always found I start my period on the third day after finishing norethisterone.

Huge luck for the transfer on Friday @TheGlitterFairy !!!!

@MGee123 I’m completely the same, I never know when my period is going to arrive so always have a little day dream that that cycle is the one 😂 !! What luck it would be for you if it was.... stranger things have happened!!!

Thanks for the good luck everyone - it was a bit crampy but not too bad xx

SpyroC · 03/11/2020 12:05

Thanks everyone. I'm am back home in bed now recovering. Unfortunately, my fears were justified, of the 5 follicles (well the consultant said 6 were decent today) only 2 contained eggs. 😔 I had prepared myself for this as I always have lots of empty follicles although I was hoping my double trigger would've helped. The estadiol on day 10 also seems to be a better indicator than the scan for me and that suggested 3 eggs. This time she said she had to flush the follicles to get the eggs out. This has never happened before, has anyone else experienced this? I've got a bad feeling I've read somewhere this is a sign on immaturity so I will consult Dr Google shortly. I'm used to low numbers (6&7) but this is something else, especially given quality is always an issue too. The phone calls are going to be even more nerve racking than usual this time for sure! 🤞🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻

@PineappleC good news on the lining, it's all looking good for your next cycle.

@MGee123 it would be amazing if af was delayed for good reason for a change!🤞🏻I agree we are all so strong 💪🏻 and deserve some good luck.

BonTon · 03/11/2020 13:03

Oh goodness @SpyroC, I’m sorry it didn’t go as you wanted but hopefully those two little eggs are fighters and will continue to develop well. Good luck for the fertilisation call tomorrow. I haven’t experienced flushing I don’t think but it may not be as bad as you think. Hope you’re ok xxxx
