Hi ladies, I’ve been through all of my fertility screening tests etc and am due to start my first and hopefully only round of IVF (positive vibes ) soon. I’m looking to share my hopes, experiences and tips and provide support to anyone else expecting to start a cycle soon. The more the merrier!

@Dinky06 intramuscular injections do sound scary but if it's the progesterone oil, I believe that is the gold standard of progesterone support so hopefully worth it.

@Lightningrain I'm sorry to hear that but you are right it's quality over quantity. It does only take one. That's my mantra too as I also have low AMH/afc. I got 6 eggs last time.

I started my induced bleed Monday and rang to request treatment but still not heard back. It was same day or following day previously. I’m going to ring and chase tomorrow but I’m thinking it might mean there’s no space for me this cycle and I’ll be next month now. There’s other people requested at the same time who have had their call back. I’m hoping not, it just seems like delay after delay at the moment. I’m trying to stay positive but struggling as I don’t seem any closer than in February. Also noristorene makes me miserable which doesn’t help haha

It’s great to see other people’s cycles going well though that cheers me up ! Hope there’s lots of successes

@Lightningrain best of luck for your EC, sounds like you’re in a sensible place in terms of your expectations, so I hope it’s surprisingly positive!

I'm back again tomorrow as they felt I could be doing with one more day of stims, with a view to collect on Friday.

Thank you @SpyroC. I’m trying to be positive that one follicle has grown to a decent size so there was some response to the medication. Maybe some of the others will follow suit with a slightly higher dose on round 2. Good luck for yours.

@Mancbear88 fingers crossed that you manage to get in. I suppose some clinics will still be playing catch up from the lockdown which doesn’t help when we’ve all been waiting since e beginning of the year.

@Lolly2020 I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you on Friday. I’ve been doing some reading of old threads and there are people that have had success with low AFC/AMH. I think the only thing I’ve got going for me is that I’m under 35. I think they’d have just said abandon this time if I’d been older.

@Sunbird24 thank you, and good luck for tomorrow (same to you also @Tara8). I bet you’re nervous but eager to get it out of the way now. I just hope they don’t have us waiting for ages beforehand as that’s always the worst part for me. Then again maybe they will get us all in fairly close to the actual collection times due to COVID.

I have a day 9 stims scan and blood test tomorrow morning. I'm hoping I'll hear that I'm on track for EC on Saturday. I'm finding it harder to find fresh spots to inject!

@Dinky06 thank you I hope your scan goes well and you can get your collection day confirmed. I know what you mean about the injections - mine seem to have got progressively worse in terms of stinging. I’ve just done the trigger and ended up bleeding slightly afterwards. My body is obviously trying to tell me no more needles!

Good luck to everyone with scans and egg collections today. I’ve had trouble posting on here the last few days for some reason, will see if today works!

I had a scan on Sunday and then was hauled back in for a second scan on Monday, on Monday I had 18 follicles over 10mm so from what I understand this is 18 chances at eggs, I’ve no idea how many to expect though. My egg collection is booked for Friday and I trigger at 22:30 tonight. It’s all getting a bit real now!

I’ve got 16 eggs out.recovering with a cup of tea and a biscuit

@Sunbird24 Well done, hope you feel okay.
I'm slightly tender today and feel I need to pee continuously.

14 of our 22 eggs have successfully fertilised. I actually think the next few days waiting to see how many we get to day 5 will be the hardest bit of ivf yet.
I'm very emotional this morning!! X

The nurse I saw before I went in mentioned they were thinking about freezing all mine, so I want to find out more about that.

That’s a really good fertilisation rate, sure you’ll get something to work with at day 5!

I've had a bit of spotting this morning. Day 7 of stims and not due a scan until Friday. I've called the clinic and waiting for a nurse to call me back.

@unknownscot hurrah! That's good news. Hope you're able to rest and take it easy today. Have they said how they will keep you updated over the next few days? I can imagine it must feel so nerve wracking!

I had my third scan this morning. Waiting for blood test results this afternoon and an update call. Follicle count seems OK but sizes are very variable with some as small as 8 and others over 20. There are a cluster they think might grow to a better size with an extra day assuming they can manage my hormones and avoid the ovulation surge so they think I might be on for EC on Sunday now rather than Saturday but all TBC based on bloods. I feel very emotional today and just quite unsettled. I was hoping to be on track for Saturday. Think I might need some tea and biscuits myself!

@Lolly2020 I had spotting on Monday and Tuesday this week and the doctor said it's a pretty common side affect. I hope everything is similarly okay with you.

@Dinky06 good luck with your scan, I know what you mean I was in a limbo until yesterday when they decided Friday would be the day. It’s all just turning into a massive blur for me already! Hope some tea and biscuits improve the situation!

@Dinky06 I know easier said than done, but just trust them with the process. They know what's best for those little eggs!!

I'll get a phone call on Friday (Day 3) and another on Monday (Day 6) to let us know progress.
We will freeze on Sunday and Monday 🤞🏼🥰

Hi all, sounds like everyone is doing really well.

We only got 8 eggs at retrieval this morning which feels a bit disappointing as there were more follicles than that and I've seen so many big numbers on here! They'll call us in the morning to let us know how they're doing, hopefully at least one will fertilise after all this!

For anyone who is worried, I personally found the whole process absolutely fine. Everyone was lovely and chatty and I dont remember falling asleep at all. Apparently I was talking about my child and nursery school...I have no children!

@Tara8 I'm sorry it wasn't the number you were hoping for. I hope you get some great results from those eggs you got. Thanks so much for the encouragement about the procedure, it's definitely the bit I've been most worried about.

I was hoping to be able to do EC on Friday but they're saying Monday or Tuesday now. The scan this morning showed 36 follicles all together. I'm SO uncomfortable so I'm a bit worried about what I'll feel like by then!

@Tara8 glad it wasn’t too traumatic, was thinking of you! 8 is not a bad number at all, just wait and see how many fertilise overnight. Just because other people got more doesn’t mean they’re any better quality!
