Sept IVF/FET

I can’t see a Sept cycle up yet so thought I’d start one. Currently TTC #2. Our March FET was postponed due to Covid and we had a FET in July which sadly resulted in a BFN last week. Had our follow up last night and to our surprise we can try again straight away so signing consents next week and starting down reg in 2.5 weeks. Told the cycle went perfectly and must have been an embryo issue so we aren’t changing protocol but going for double embryo transfer this time. Anyone else looking to cycle/ transfer in Sept? Or am I a bit early/ keen 😂

Thank you I won’t panic just yet then xx

ivfjourney5 · 13/08/2020 21:40

@JandL2020 mine arrived on a Tuesday and I started on the Friday

JandL2020 · 13/08/2020 21:44

Oh cool 😎 I definitely won’t bother the clinic then. Mine are coming from Stork pharmacy apparently x

HavingFaith · 13/08/2020 22:10

@Lemongrass1 I’m doing pretty well, the stomach cramps have settled down so I feel normal now - think my body just needed a few days to get used to the norethisterone. I’m looking forward to starting the buseralin, just feels like a step closer. But trying to think about what time to do it. My DH and I are out next Tuesday for our anniversary so will have to do the injection in a restaurant ha! This happened to us a few times when we were stimming but it’s always so awkward! How are you feeling about starting?!

@JandL2020 I also got mine about a week before starting.

Lemongrass1 · 14/08/2020 07:51

@HavingFaith I’ve always done mine in the morning. Clinic used to advise has to be between 7-9am so I’ve just stuck with that. Once I’ve started it I take my lubion in the morning too as the routine helps me not to forget! X

@Lemongrass1 oh really, our clinic has always said to do it in the evening. It’s so interesting how each clinic has their own slightly different methods (that all clearly work otherwise they wouldn’t keep doing it!)

JandL2020 · 14/08/2020 08:06

Does anyone keep an IVF diary? I’ve bought a little note book to write down my thoughts so I’m not so anxious about the process - not started yet though. I’ve managed to lose 2kg so officially I’m not 13 stone 11 pounds. Still a long way to go and there is no chance of getting to my goal weight before transfer unless it’s a freeze and delayed until October. Still I’m happy it’s going in the right direction xx

JandL2020 · 14/08/2020 08:07

I’m* not not!

HavingFaith · 14/08/2020 08:18

@JandL2020 well done on the weight loss! That’s a great step towards your goal :-)
I bought a diary at the start of the year to document my ivf but I think I wrote in it three times before completely forgetting about it 🤣 I love the idea of it, especially to look back and reflect on in the future but I’ve never had the ability to be consistent with that kind of stuff!

JandL2020 · 14/08/2020 08:37

Thank you 😊 xx

Sorry to hear your cycle was put on hold. Difficult for everyone putting on weight during lockdown. Are you NHS? X
JandL2020 · 14/08/2020 11:13

I’m on the combined pill at the moment - 6 days left. Feeling REALLY SICK today 🤢 anyone else experience this? X

HavingFaith · 14/08/2020 11:31

@thefishthatcouldwish that must have been so frustrating! Glad to hear you’re able to get started now.

@JandL2020 I’m on day 7 of norethisterone and after two good days i feel so sick and nauseous today 😩 I’m not actually sure what norethisterone is, so no idea it’s it’s the pill??! I hope your sickness passes and the 6 days you have left go quickly! What meds are next for you after you finish the pill?

Minster2012 · 14/08/2020 11:32

@thefishthatcouldwish you would be a similar time scale to me although I'm doing FET not fresh transfer, I'm on northisterone currently from weds this week

@JandL2020 no experience of that I'm afraid

We are just plodding along until the 25th when we have our zoom consents call

Minster2012 · 14/08/2020 11:33

@HavingFaith I've been on northisterone before and it's given me terrible headaches and sickness before so yeah it can, keep going! I'm on it until the 31st so a long slog for me too xx

HavingFaith · 14/08/2020 11:40

@Minster2012 I really hope it’s not as bad for you this time round! Glad treatment is underway for you though x

thefishthatcouldwish · 14/08/2020 12:05

@JandL2020 yes I am NHS. Put weight on at start of march then a bit in lockdown. Due to my dad being seriously ill then passing away.

@Minster2012 ah good nice to have a buddy of sorts am absolutely pooping myself.

@Lemongrass1 hi 👋 remember you from another thread 😁

Lemongrass1 · 14/08/2020 12:48

@JandL2020 @thefishthatcouldwish this is amazing about the weight loss! I’m 2/3 kg from target weight and it just won’t shift 😫

@thefishthatcouldwish I remember you too and so glad you are able to start again. It’s wonderful news! If you’re having EC early Sept we may be having ET around the same time

@HavingFaith norethisterone is a progesterone, it’s different to the combined pill which has both oestrogen and progesterone. I’ve not had problems with it before but I’ve seen lots of other ladies say it gives them aside effects. Are you stopping soon?

Sorry to hear about your dad 😞 xx

HavingFaith · 14/08/2020 13:01

@Lemongrass1 thanks! I take my last norethisterone on weds 19th then I hope AF will arrive 6days later (it took 6days last time so fingers crossed it’s the same, or sooner!). When do you stop? x

JandL2020 · 14/08/2020 13:02

Has anyone been prescribed anti sickness medication whilst on IVF meds? If I’m feeling bad on the pill then god knows how I’m going to feel on the rest 😕 xx

HavingFaith · 14/08/2020 13:03

@thefishthatcouldwish so sorry to hear about your dad xx

Lemongrass1 · 14/08/2020 13:40

@thefishthatcouldwish apologies for missing this, I’m also sorry to hear about your dad, how difficult for you 😞xxx
