Sept IVF/FET

I can’t see a Sept cycle up yet so thought I’d start one. Currently TTC #2. Our March FET was postponed due to Covid and we had a FET in July which sadly resulted in a BFN last week. Had our follow up last night and to our surprise we can try again straight away so signing consents next week and starting down reg in 2.5 weeks. Told the cycle went perfectly and must have been an embryo issue so we aren’t changing protocol but going for double embryo transfer this time. Anyone else looking to cycle/ transfer in Sept? Or am I a bit early/ keen 😂

X

Rumtopf · 08/09/2020 21:44

@ivfjourney5 bless you for keeping track, you're far more on the ball than me, I can't keep up!

@HavingFaith yes, I took Clexane last cycle and have them ready again for this one post EC. I take 75mg aspirin daily too. You ok?

Tomorrow is cd11 and my third scan so hopefully they'll tell me when EC is likely to be.

poupou · 08/09/2020 21:47

@HavingFaith yes AF arrived on sunday midday and i am having my scan tmr.
I requested to see the consultant as well as i have some concerns regarding TSH and trying to resolve this and be retested. So its very stressful and emotional.
My AF was really painful this time and had lots of blood but today is really light so i am not sure if lining will be thin. Iam worried in advance! Anyone had this?
Iam still on buseralin and effects are hitting me hard.
About heparin (blood thinning) its UCLH protocol and it has actually been shown to increase success rates and aid in IVF.

poupou · 08/09/2020 21:47

Best luck to everyone for tmr!

poupou · 08/09/2020 21:48

@HavingFaith how are you feeling on progynova?

HavingFaith · 08/09/2020 22:03

@ivfjourney5 that was a great roundup! Fingers crossed tomorrow is a positive day for all.

@Rumtopf & @poupou thanks, I was wondering why blood thinners were part of it but if it may increase success rates I’m all for it!

@poupou glad AF showed up! Mine was exactly how you described. I hope you’re able to speak to the consultant tomorrow.
I’m doing ok - the Lubion injections are pretty painful but I don’t have any side effects at the mo (not sure if that’s a good thing or not). Tomorrow will be my first blood thinner injection and the clinic already warned me they’re going to hurt 🙃

79andnotout · 08/09/2020 22:05

@HavingFaith yep I'm on fragmin for a family history of clotting. I might start taking low dose aspirin too for the hell of it.

No symptoms here. My boobs are sore but they're like that for the second half of every cycle. The only difference this time is the slow drip drip of the pessaries seeping into my pants Confused

Evey43 · 08/09/2020 22:28

@ivfjourney5 wow well done for getting everyone in, very thoughtful

Feeling a bit crampy this evening so convinced AF is about to rear her ugly head (and ugly it is!)

Xx

Rumtopf · 08/09/2020 22:35

@79andnotout have you tried them rectally? I found them so much less messy that way. Had to throw some of my favourite pairs of knickers which annoyed me more than all the jabs!

79andnotout · 08/09/2020 22:45

@Rumtopf yep that was my first port of call, but it gave me really bad constipation (unfortunately I'm very prone to this) so i had to abandon the rectum. It was so bad I'm too scared to try again. Annoying.

I'm in desperate need of a knicker refresh so this is probably forcing my hand and doing me a favour.

poupou · 08/09/2020 23:11

@HavingFaith! Oh honey! I hope it all goes well with the blood thinning injection! For the lubion ones i read that maybe slapping the injection side before hand helps a bit to not hurt that much! And warming the injection a bit beforehand!

Evey43 · 08/09/2020 23:16

@79andnotout you’re hilarious. How often in life do you get to say ‘I had to abandon the rectum’ 😅

Rumtopf · 08/09/2020 23:32

Ha! At least an added bonus is lovely new knickers. It's all so bloody glamorous I think everyone should treat themselves to some slinky new undies.

JandL2020 · 09/09/2020 07:06

Thank you @ivfjourney5 🙂 not the best sleep and up early gagging for a cup of tea and a biscuit! OH is nervous - up at 6, pacing up and down and already put the bins out. He’s doing his collection at home and we take it at the same time for my EC appointment. I’ve learnt to just leave him alone at this point cos he gets really stressed then I get stressed! X

UnicornPuff · 09/09/2020 07:18

@Sian7919 hopenyou get a good call this morning

Good luck for everyone having scans, EC today. I think there are going to be a lot of updates hopefully!

I am think I am managing not to symptom spot. I had loads of cramping before ET with the progesterone and it has continued so I cant really read much into it even if I wanted too! I am only 2dp5dt so I am sure I will find something to obsess over 😂

79andnotout · 09/09/2020 07:48

@HavingFaith the blood thinners smart a bit and you can feel them for about half an hour after but they're not too bad. I have to do them from day 1 of stims to six weeks after birth :( - that's a lot of injecting!

@Sian7919 hope you have some good results today.

@JandL2020 good luck in your collection!

Hope all the scans go well. I enjoy hearing about the progress of everyone's follicles! There's something quite pleasing about the logical order of ivf - so much more info than usual TTCing. It's satisfying following the progression. Maybe that's just me being a nerd.

Sian7919 · 09/09/2020 07:58

Thanks everyone. Had a so so night’s sleep. Feeling nervous. Good luck today @JandL2020 my other half did his collection at home and as you say best to leave them to it ;) I hope all goes well. Will update later x

JandL2020 · 09/09/2020 08:05

Me too @79andnotout i love the science of it all. Thank you @Sian7919 glad you had a good nights sleep after a stressful day yesterday. Hope news is good today xx

Sian7919 · 09/09/2020 08:54

Bad news I’m afraid. Only one fertilized and the embryologist said It may have a crack in its shell and she’d update me on it later today. I’m devastated.

79andnotout · 09/09/2020 09:01

Oh @Sian7919 that's awful news. I'm so sorry.

HavingFaith · 09/09/2020 09:22

@Sian7919 I’m so, so sorry. I can’t even imagine how you must be feeling but hope you and your DH can lean on each other. Praying your embryo doesn’t have a crack in it xx

Alexm06 · 09/09/2020 09:30

@Sian7919 I’m so sorry. I hope it proves the embryologist wrong!
