Sept IVF/FET

I can’t see a Sept cycle up yet so thought I’d start one. Currently TTC #2. Our March FET was postponed due to Covid and we had a FET in July which sadly resulted in a BFN last week. Had our follow up last night and to our surprise we can try again straight away so signing consents next week and starting down reg in 2.5 weeks. Told the cycle went perfectly and must have been an embryo issue so we aren’t changing protocol but going for double embryo transfer this time. Anyone else looking to cycle/ transfer in Sept? Or am I a bit early/ keen 😂

Thanks @Lemongrass1 I'm definitely going to ask tomorrow about upping my dose rather than delaying transfer if lining is thin! How many days are you taking progynova in total before transfer? Mines 21 days assuming there's no issues, perhaps mine is longer and a lower dose and you have a higher dose for shorter?

@Koalabear23 I’m on 3 x 2mg of progynova (have been on this dose for a week now) and I’ve felt really nauseous too and have had pretty bad cramping. So as horrible as it is, I think it’s probably fairly normal. I have a scan tomorrow to check linking so will be double checking with nurses xx

@79andnotout that's great news about the payrise - and also good point re tonsils/vagina, snorted a bit of tea out at that one

@Lemongrass1 great news about the scan, onwards and upwards! That sounds like a really traumatic experience in your last fresh cycle, such a good point that although disappointing waiting might be the best thing.

@UnicornPuff yep I think the odd nap and lie in is highly therapeutic - ugh, hope tomorrow morning goes well. That sounds really promising with all mature eggs fertilising, hope that means they are top quality too :-)

@Sian7919 what a stressful start to the day :-( I'm sure your clinic will have seen it all before many times and surely if it's only one shot of the wrong dose it shouldn't make much difference.

I'm a bit concerned this evening because I've been on 200iu menopur, have given myself 6 injections so far but the wee vial which was supposed to be 1200iu has still got a bit left in it! Have wracked my brains several times, checked my notes and I definitely haven't missed a dose. It's not just a wee dribble that's left in there either... might phone the nurse tomorrow. Really hoping I haven't somehow made an absolute arse of it.

@zebra80 I've found vials generally have more liquid in, my buserelin is meant to contain 10 doses, I had 12 doses out of one vial! I'm sure you've done all the injections just fine and it is just extra

@ivfjourney5 I’m only on it for 9 days before I have lining scan and then usually have transfer 6-7 days after that. So that’s probably the difference!

@zebra80 don’t worry the vials often have a bit more than they say in it

@ivfjourney5 and @HavingFaith I’m on the same dose as you; just assumed that was standard... obviously not. My clinic haven’t mentioned when transfer is likely to be. They have only talked as far as first scan on day 10 or 12 but I still don’t have a scan date.

I got my appointment in early today, lining is looking good at 6.3 and ovaries are nice and quiet so I was fretting over nothing! Back in on Tuesday then if all is well will start progesterone after FET on Monday 14th. Fingers crossed for everyone else getting similarly good news!

@AutumnHoping @HavingFaith @ivfjourney5 from what I’ve gathered from others having FETs the clinic I’m at is an outlier with using such a high oestradiol dose!

@Lemongrass1 @ivfjourney5 @HavingFaith @AutumnHoping thanks. It’s weird the Clinics all use different doses. Must be depending on time taking it or something. It’s reassuring to know the side effects are normal though.

Scan went well! Lining is 9.1mm so the progynova has been working (at least all the cramps and nausea were worth it!). Now just need to wait for the clinic to call me this afternoon to confirm when to start Lubion and cyclogest. Also have a blood thinner injection daily too. I’m hoping they’ll confirm the date for transfer when they call Too.

@Eggling glad your scan went so well!

Urghh as I expected, my lining is soo thin, I've been delayed at least 6 days 😢 they've only upped me to 4x2mg and they'll reassess on Thursday. Currently sat in the pharmacy picking up more meds to keep me going for the extra days

Hope everyone else got better news than me!

I have had my update from embryologist. All 6 are still going. Some better than others. They are better quality than our previous round so fingers crossed. We are having a day 5 transfer and won't hear anything more until the day!

Hey! So my scan the nurse never actually told me how many eggs were getting there but I think there was about 10 on my right and about 7 on my left. Obviously not ready yet I was just going by the numbers she was calling out. She said egg collection is looking like Thursday but have another scan Monday to check. Does anyone know what the average number of follicles people get I have no idea so not sure if that’s good or bad.

Sorry @ivfjourney5 that it wasn't better news. My clinic had me crushing the progynova tablets last time and inserting it into my vagina, that had to be the least pleasant task ever! Gritty is an understatement.

Glad all other news this morning is good.

Hi! Thanks for the good luck, I got two eggs. Not amazing but better than none! OH sperm sample was fine so we'll see if they fertilise. If any make it to day 2 then they'll do a transfer on Sunday.

Sorry to hear your lining is thin @ivfjourney5 - hopefully it cracks on over the next few days.
