Sept IVF/FET

I can’t see a Sept cycle up yet so thought I’d start one. Currently TTC #2. Our March FET was postponed due to Covid and we had a FET in July which sadly resulted in a BFN last week. Had our follow up last night and to our surprise we can try again straight away so signing consents next week and starting down reg in 2.5 weeks. Told the cycle went perfectly and must have been an embryo issue so we aren’t changing protocol but going for double embryo transfer this time. Anyone else looking to cycle/ transfer in Sept? Or am I a bit early/ keen 😂

So had day 8 scan. 5 on my right but only one on left. All good sizes.

Lining good.

I mean I dunno if that’s good numbers bad numbers or in between.

I just had my ten day scan and it's not looking good, two on each side, one way too big and the other three quite small. They're going to have a go at harvesting anyway on Thursday or Friday. Not a great outcome considering my AMH was pretty good at 13, and my AFC was 14, but it is what it is.

I had it before my ivf treatment to try and bring back my natural cycles, which it did! Then everything closed, and it was still closed when I had egg collection. The lady has very recently opened again so I've been going to help with my lining for my upcoming FET. I'd recommend going on the Zita West website to find a local acupuncturist who specialises in fertility

I am feeling slightly down for the past two days and really anxious i dont know if its the buserelin that is responsible for the feelings of doom but i am trying to be positive!
@79andnotout. I am sorry that you didnt get better outcome. But dont despair. The other three might also grow by Friday to an appropriate size. And Focus on the best outcome for the ones that will be harvested. Sending lots of luck your way!
@thefishthatcouldwish also best of luck with the EC. 6 is not a bad number and as long as some/ all of these are fertilised and go to day 3 to 5. So fingers crossed for the best possible outcome.
@ivfjourney5 ! I also tried acupuncture during my fresh cycle and i am not sure how much it helped but as i was a poor responder i managed to get 6 eggs at the end! How is lining going? Best of luck for your scan on Friday
@HavingFaith ! How are you feeling? I think you also have a scan friday? Best of luck but i think it will be a progress scan to see if the lining is good and to decide if you need a few more days or not!

@poupou sorry to hear you’ve been feeling down - I think buseralin has a lot to answer for! But hope tomorrow is a better day ☺️ Are you still on norethisterone?

Yep, I’m back on Friday for a scan to check if lining is getting thick. I think a few of us have scans on Friday!

@thefishthatcouldwish 6 good sized follicles is definitely positive! Did they say when you might be doing your trigger?

@79andnotout I’m sorry your scan didn’t go as you’d hoped - but there’s definitely still time for the smaller ones to grow a lot before Thursday/Friday - I was amazed how much difference a couple of days can make!

I’m feeling really nauseous and crampy today - can’t decide if it’s the progynova and/or buseralin, or the fact I went out for lunch and dinner yesterday (and had two desserts) 🙃

Thank you. Wondering what difference there will be in 2 days on the scan but hopefully going in the right direction. Definitely more tired and crampy today. Can’t wait for a walk later just to get out the house! X

@HavingFaith so sorry you feel nauseous. It’s such a horrible feeling. No they have not said but will let me know more on day 11 scan on Friday. EC still planned for next week.

@HavingFaith! Thank you! Yes i am still on noretheristone and buserelin! Happy days! Noretheristone is making me feel horrible but at one point i thought that buserelin actually made me feel better! Hahah! Counteracting noretheristones effects? Hahah! I am still not sure if any of the symptoms i am feeling are due to the treatment or just generally not feeling very well or due to something else so i completely feel you. But again yesterday i was very tired and exhausted! Also a bit of nausea but i am drinking warm water with a bit of lemon and ginger in it and it appears to help!

@thefishthatcouldwish yes it is and i have such an admiration for all of you for doing this!

@poupou ahh I’m glad that’s helping you -my husband is currently trying to force feed me ginger tea so I may just give in and drink it 🤣

@poupou when is your last norethisterone tablet?

Thanks guys, yeah a couple of days can make all the difference I guess. I haven't heard back from the clinic today so it looks like it will be trigger tomorrow eve and collection on friday, which suits me. At least if it goes really badly and we get nothing we have the weekend to mull it over.

My remedy for nausea is usually to eat some cake! I guess that's not helpful. Or have a lie down.

So yeah looks like Friday will be an exciting time for a lot of us. Good luck with the scans!

@HavingFaith hahah! Bless him! He is trying! Give it a go and it might help! I am so sorry that you have the nausea. Last noretheristone is on the 3rd! Two more days to go! I am so anxious that i am thinking thank god i am stopping noretheristone but i am starting oestrogen and scans and maybe noretheristone wasnt that bad as nothing was expected from me while on it! I think i am going a bit paranoid! Just a bit!

@79andnotout i am really sorry that is not better news. Maybe try getting more protein into you for the next few days keep warm, hot water bottles near the ovaries and femora vein massage but not sure if its wise to do this yourself except if you know where the nerves are (i read that it helps with getting eggs grow and blood supply to the ovaries)! But a few days can definitely make a difference believe me! Average grow for an egg per day is 1-2 mm but with stimulation can grow up to 4 mm per day! Therefore if you have a follicle of 8 mm it can go to 16 mm by friday!

@79andnotout sorry you didn't get the news you wanted. Like others have said loads can change by Friday. I have also read that staying hydrated can make a difference in egg growth. I have everything crossed your eggs start to play ball!

@thefishthatcouldwish your scan sounded good this morning. I dont think there are good/bad numbers. It is really dependant on you and what your clinic expect. If they seem happy I would be too. Although you want as many as possible you really want good quality eggs and that is what your clinic should be aiming for.

@poupou I am sorry you are having a bad day. I hated the buserelin blues! I hope you get lots of TLC tonight and tomorrow feels less oppressive.

@ivfjourney5 I did acupuncture on my last round and actually found it quite stressful! I felt like I had to do it because it might improve my chances but meant I was clock watching at work worried I would be late! How are you finding it with covid? Do they take extra precautions? Do you need to wear a mask?

@JandL2020 my clinic have not done a covid swab either. I was asked to self isolate from my baseline scan. Which I have actually really enjoyed!

I did my trigger at 8pm yesterday and I have been quite uncomfortable today. I know the trigger makes the eggs mature but does it also give them a push to grow a little more? I didn't really feel anything last time (except very grumpy 🤣) this time I have been feeling quite bloated and its just feels the trigger has made it worse!

@HavingFaith I missed your comment, I hope the nausea passes. Blame the drugs as 2 desserts can only be a good thing 😁

Evening ladies! Well I just christened my first ever IVF journey with my first GONAL F injection and it was a breeze! I actually had to inject myself twice as I never pressed down on the pen properly First time round hahaha
Surprisingly it never hurt. I worked myself up for nothing. It hardly felt like a scratch. These baby needles are amazing. Not looking forward to cetrotide though - it looks painful. Day 1, 12 to go!!!

@thefishthatcouldwish tomorrow. I triggered at 8pm so it should be at a guess between 8-9 tomorrow morning. I am quite looking forward to it, I enjoyed the sedation last time!

@ChicaXS yay! Congratulations on your first injection! When do you start certitude?

Good luck @UnicornPuff - hope it all goes as expected and the slow sperm injection works this time. And yep I'm still drinking loads of water and just scoffed (another) chicken Kiev. I hope my eggs aren't allergic to garlic as I've been eating a tonne of it recently. Maybe that's where I'm going wrong!

@ChicaXS - I had cetrotide and it wasn't bad, I had a bit of a rash afterwards but no pain. Well done on getting the first out of the way!

Thanks @Poupou that's interesting about how much the follicles grow per day. I didn't make a note of what size they were stupidly but I have high hopes for the stragglers.

I'm glad egg collection is on a Friday. We're planning what takeaway to get that might to commiserate/celebrate. Will have the weekend to recover at least.

I am plagued with spots, all in the same places I got them as a teenager. I have one right in my frown line. Bloody hormones!

Lots happening now for a lot of you ladies. @79andnotout try not to worry - hopefully you will get what you need. It’s positive if they’re happy to continue. My first cycle was cancelled after 16 days of stimming because they thought it wouldn’t work - so you’re def not out! X

@ChicaXS I feel quite liberated with the injections. It’s like a small bit I can control in a way. I did build it up mind.

I have an extremely stupid question ladies (sorry!) but what would you all consider a ‘cycle’. Would a cycle be considered as a FET transfer? Or is it (how I understand it) the actual IVF cycle itself? If you have Frosties would each FET transfer be considered a cycle or no?

Just catching up properly on the day, I had a bit of a panic because I think I ovulated, and I thought buserelin was meant to switch everything off, then got myself worked up that my FET cycle might be cancelled. Nurses reassured me everything was fine though!

@pattaz2711 sorry to hear about the past and what you've had to cope with. Have you had any signs of AF? It's great that you've got 3 in the freezer, hopefully you only need one though!

@Rumtopf how did the buserelin go today?

@UnicornPuff he's making good steps being able to mix it, it takes the pressure off you and hopefully makes him feel like he's helping. Good luck for egg collection tomorrow, make sure you allow yourself to rest afterwards. 🤞🏼 the slow solution helps this time. You definitely don't want to make yourself more stressed if you didn't enjoy acupuncture last time, I find it quite relaxing, because I'm forcing myself to lie down and chill for about an hour so I always come out calmer. Yes I have to wear a mask but I'm very used to masks now anyway

@JandL2020 fyremedal always left me with a rash for about 30 mins but it soon went away. I hope today's was alright? Good luck with the scan tomorrow!

@thefishthatcouldwish hope work was okay today? I imagine it's very different to usual and will probably take a while to get used to. I'm glad the scan went well this morning

@79andnotout sorry you're feeling a bit deflated, but the smaller three still have plenty of time to grow before Friday, I'm wishing you luck. A takeaway on Friday sounds like a great way to end the day after egg collection!

@poupou how are you feeling this evening? The nurses warned me that it's likely I'll have a low mood with the buserelin so please don't worry. Once my progynova was added I felt so much better! It's only short term so it'll get better

@HavingFaith it could well be the two desserts, although I only say that because I'm jealous. I'm intrigued what desserts they were?

@ChicaXS great to hear the injection went well in the end, it'll be even easier tomorrow for you. You'll be a pro by Friday so I'm sure the cetrotide will also be a breeze by then!
