Sept IVF/FET

Lemongrass1 · 28/07/2020 14:10

I can’t see a Sept cycle up yet so thought I’d start one. Currently TTC #2. Our March FET was postponed due to Covid and we had a FET in July which sadly resulted in a BFN last week. Had our follow up last night and to our surprise we can try again straight away so signing consents next week and starting down reg in 2.5 weeks. Told the cycle went perfectly and must have been an embryo issue so we aren’t changing protocol but going for double embryo transfer this time. Anyone else looking to cycle/ transfer in Sept? Or am I a bit early/ keen 😂

@zebra80 I know a lot of people think ivf no problem.. but they don't know the half of it... even when I was talking to the nurse who helped me with my ERPC didn't know how much goes into ivf..

Finger crossed for this one.. we have 3 frozen one day 5 hatching and 2 day 6 hatching

zebra80 · 30/08/2020 23:04

@pattaz2711 fingers and toes crossed :-) That's 3 chances, I know it's a cliche but you only need one... How many are you having transferred this time?

Rumtopf · 31/08/2020 00:48

So today is Cd1 of our second cycle, I start my Buserelin tomorrow and can't sleep. We've had one cycle already in March and only got 1 5 day blast which was FET in July but bfn. Dh was so disappointed and I'm hoping this cycle is more successful.
Trying to keep my stress down and keeping on with the yoga and healthy eating but now it's real again and I desperately don't want it to fail again as this is our last try.

pattaz2711 · 31/08/2020 09:16

@zebra80 my clinic only ever transfers one.. we wanted to. It's was just horrible getting to the stage we got to an having it taken Away. Will see this time. It's horrible feeling failed.

I hope you do t mind me staying on this group? Through out this xx

@Rumtopf good luck today with your injections lovely.. ❤️

I hope everyone is being kind to them selfs.

UnicornPuff · 31/08/2020 10:19

Welcome to everyone who has joined.

@J1984 how is your wife getting on? Well done for doing the injections. This is our second IVF and my DH still can't look when I inject and I have only just managed to get him to mix up some menopur for me!

@ivfjourney5 what a lovely treat. I bet you had the biggest smile after speaking to your DH. I hope the rest of your weekend has continued on the same high.

@pattaz2711 I hope you are looking after yourself and getting much needed TLC. I hope you get AF soon. 3 hatching in the freezer is good. I completely understand feeling like a failure. I told a friend and my SIL as she was have IVF at the same time as me and when I didn't work it was awful telling them. This time only me and my husband (and work 🤔) so I don't have to deal with the sympathy!

@Rumtopf fingers crossed this time will be the one for you 🤞

Had my follicle scan this morning. I am ready for EC on Wednesday 😁
Trying to keep the excitement down. We have MFI and everything went to plan last time until day 3 when 3 of the 5 fertilised arrested and 2 were poor quality both transfers BFN. We are ICSI and have asked this time to use a solution called slow sperm (similar to PICSI). We have a planned double embryo transfer again as they are expecting poor quality embryos. A small part of me is hoping it won't be needed and the spermslow will help the quality!

pattaz2711 · 31/08/2020 10:34

@UnicornPuff good luck with your egg collection.. they can be nerve racking can't they especially the waiting, then the 2WW wait aswell..
I'm ok I'm a little emotional today so I'm hoping it's my hormones for my period

JandL2020 · 31/08/2020 10:44

I hope everyone is well. Thought I would update on my first scan. Lining is thickening and there are follicles growing (what is expected day 5 of stims so that’s good). The nurse asked if I had the Fyremadel injection with me...luckily I did and I took it in front of her as this injection is a lot trickier than Gonal F. For one the needle is bigger and it feels blunt as it goes in so you really have to force it in. It left a lovely red mark so I iced it with a towel for half hour and it is fine now. Although it’s still quite sore on that side. So yeah...thought this was a breeze but it turns out it’s not 😖 My egg collection is estimated to be 7th September. Nerve wrecking but exciting at the same time. Next scan Wednesday...fingers crossed for more lovely growing follicles xx

@JandL2020 - Thanks for the comments regarding side effects. For some reason I cant quote your post.

@HavingFaith - Thanks yeah I have been doing the injections for her but I think she will be ok to do them later this week when I am away for work.

@UnicornPuff - I used to sell Pen needles for diabetes patients. These are exactly the same but much longer at 12mm. Diabetes Pen needles are smaller at 5/6 or 8mm. 12mm seems quite long but maybe they have to go in quite deep -

She is getting on well. Apart from headaches on the 1st day of injecting and some slight abdominal pain she seem to be fine. Scan is scheduled for this Friday and we fly out for treatment next Monday. The Czech Republic have been added onto the quarantine list. So that is one headache we could of done without. Will just have to work from home when we return, worth it though fingers crossed. We are just looking forward to getting out there and relaxing a bit for 10 days :)

@UnicornPuff - Me rambling on about Pen needles - I meant to say thats why I dont mind handling them LOL

Alexm06 · 31/08/2020 11:50

@JandL2020 I have just had the same appointment and have started Fyremadel aswell which I’m finding itchy and is a bit red too. Only difference is I’m on Menopur. I have my next scan Friday as I think I still have some smaller ones. Hope all goes well for you!

KassT · 31/08/2020 12:51

@ivfjourney5 it was a lovely small gathering, I gave in and had a tiny tiny glass of white wine, no one ask any questions! I reckon that was the last drink until the end of this round. Happy for you that you got to speak to your husband, must have been difficult not being able to see or speak to him. Best of luck for your scan on Friday!

@J1984 I'm planning to have my husband doing all the shots for me too! Thought would be nice to get him involve.

@pattaz2711 @zebra80 @Rumtopf
sorry to hear your last round didn't work out. I hope this time you have a successful round. ❤️

@UnicornPuff @JandL2020 best of luck for your egg collection!

Rumtopf · 31/08/2020 14:03

I'm grinning at people getting their partners involved in the injections, my great big hairy husband would be slumped on the floor in a faint if I asked him to even uncap one! He winced at the sight of my bruised tummy, especially after the Clexane as that bruises me horribly.

Hope everyone is having a nice bank holiday Monday.

Eggling · 31/08/2020 18:26

@pattaz2711 I remember you from the May thread, which was when I had my egg collection. So sorry it didn't work out positively for you (and all other ladies in that boat). Here's hoping for lots of luck this time around 🤞

Re: partners doing injections, DH did all of mine for me, but he does work with syringes etc professionally so it kind of made sense for him to do so!

Hope everyone has had a relaxing BH weekend

unknownscot · 31/08/2020 18:30

@Alexm06
I'll be taking Menopur and Fyremadel - how are you getting on with them? I don't start until 8th Sept (with Norethisterone first) then injections on 21st.

Alexm06 · 31/08/2020 18:43

@unknownscot yeah I haven’t found them too bad I mean it’s only my first day with Fyremadel but yeah so far so good haven’t had any side effects really. Had a little bit of cramping yesterday but today I’ve been fine. Not sure if I’m just lucky at the moment. Hopefully you will be too!

pattaz2711 · 31/08/2020 21:15

@Eggling aww of course, where are you in your cycle, have I remembered right that you had to freeze yours??

Eggling · 31/08/2020 22:06

@pattaz2711 yeah had to freeze all, was meant to do FET start of August but my period didn't come after norithisterone so had to go in the pill for 3 weeks, on day 6 of my cycle now and hoping for better news at my day 10 scan on Friday! Hoping this is a lucky thread 😊

pattaz2711 · 31/08/2020 22:17

@Eggling I remember now I was wondering where you went an what happened. We was all very close on that thread. I thought I wouldn't be back on a thread,
I'm waiting for my period to start is so annoying. Good luck for Friday lovely xxx

Rumtopf · 31/08/2020 22:48

What's Fyremadel? I've not heard of that one.
I've just checked our portal and everything has been updated so tomorrow will be Buserelin in the morning and then Menopur and Gonal F in the evening, along with all my supplements. First scan on the 4th.

thefishthatcouldwish · 01/09/2020 07:46

Sorry been trying to catch Up 🙈. Between start of a new term in work and general life it’s been quite busy.

Hospital today for scan and and again Friday. Also second Covid test Friday.

Injections have been ok only one bruise.

If all being well EC week of 7th!

ivfjourney5 · 01/09/2020 08:05

Ladies and Gentleman itsss September... what a busy month it'll be for us all!!
I'll catch up on the thread properly later ❤️

JandL2020 · 01/09/2020 08:15

Very busy month let’s hope it’s kind to us all. My egg collection will probably be 7th September! Arghhhhhh! 😊 scan tomorrow to see if growing. My clinic sounds like the only one not doing covid test - is that cos it’s private maybe?! X

ivfjourney5 · 01/09/2020 08:29

@JandL2020 how exciting, the 7th will be here before you know it! I don't have to do a covid test either, I'm at a private clinic but having NHS treatment

JandL2020 · 01/09/2020 09:26

Yeah it doesn’t feel like its just been a bank holiday so I think it will go even quicker. I say this as I stare at my computer screen and I can’t think of anything else. Will need to distract myself later 😂

pattaz2711 · 01/09/2020 09:42

@all good luck to everyone to say having scans, ec, transfer, and starting the dreaded medication.. sending lots of hope an luck to you all ❤️
