Sept IVF/FET

I can’t see a Sept cycle up yet so thought I’d start one. Currently TTC #2. Our March FET was postponed due to Covid and we had a FET in July which sadly resulted in a BFN last week. Had our follow up last night and to our surprise we can try again straight away so signing consents next week and starting down reg in 2.5 weeks. Told the cycle went perfectly and must have been an embryo issue so we aren’t changing protocol but going for double embryo transfer this time. Anyone else looking to cycle/ transfer in Sept? Or am I a bit early/ keen 😂

Good luck to everyone with scans and EC this week - hope it all goes well x

I've managed my first 4 menopur injections without fainting, crying or spilling anything so happy enough with that - feeling ok so far and trying not to start worrying that I'm not feeling hormonal 'enough' ...

Got a day off tomorrow so I'm going to meal plan for the rest of the week to try and get plenty of protein and good fats in and avoid stress eating too many crisps and biscuits.

@ChicaXS

I have an extremely stupid question ladies (sorry!) but what would you all consider a ‘cycle’. Would a cycle be considered as a FET transfer? Or is it (how I understand it) the actual IVF cycle itself? If you have Frosties would each FET transfer be considered a cycle or no?
Not a stupid question at all!! A full cycle differs by CCG, some say the fresh and one frozen, some say fresh and two frozen. You would have to ask your clinic or research for your specific CCG. Sorry that properly doesn't help much...

I've just looked at my own funding and this is what mine says... 'Completed Cycle with IVF / ICSI One (1) episode of ovarian stimulation, egg recovery, fertilisation and transfer of any resultant fresh and frozen embryo(s)'
Rumtopf · 01/09/2020 22:29

@ivfjourney5 glad the nurses reassured you. When I had my FET it was a natural cycle, I just took progynova and progesterone, nothing to stop ovulation.

@poupou sorry you're feeling a bit blue with the Buserelin, me too! Hope it eases for you tomorrow.

This is such a fast moving thread. The last one I was on in Feb, only 3 of us didn't have a successful cycle, everyone else is now pg which is wonderful. Here's hoping we're as lucky!

poupou · 02/09/2020 00:36

@Rumtopf @ivfjourney5 @UnicornPuff and sorry if i missed anyone thanks so much for the reassurance and that buserelin is to blame! fingers crossed i will be feeling better soon! I exercised a bit and my mood seems to be slightly better. I am naturally a very stressed person so my anxiety is at peak now of how things will go! But i am taking a day at the time and hoping for the best. Lets all hope for the best possible outcome!

thefishthatcouldwish · 02/09/2020 07:00

@Rumtopf this thread moves extra fast.

@ivfjourney5 my first day back with staff today. Children in tomorrow. As the manager my biggest stress is making our space ‘ Covid Safe’ and making things as normal as possible for the children.

Fingers crossed 🤞 this thread is lucky for everyone.

Morning ladies.

I’m private (for now) as the NHS took their time! But it was more in dialogue of understanding that if I have say 3 unsuccessful FET transfers (privately) would they be considered 3 cycles?

I’m lucky that my NHS funds 3 cycles (from meds to transfers frozen) but unlucky covid took a shit on us all where we’re still waiting (hence why we going private now!)
@poupou

hope your feeling better today love! X

JandL2020 · 02/09/2020 07:39

Re IVFjourney5. Yes a bit of a sting and rash but it does settle. I’m incredibly crampy and bloated - last night didn’t sleep well and felt very uncomfortable. Just having a herbal tea seeing if that will help. X

pattaz2711 · 02/09/2020 07:52

@ivfjourney5 no signs yet although yesterday I was a raging I didn't even know what.. so if it doesn't start then I'm might have to speak to someone about my behaviour.. one min yesterday I was in tears over literally nothing.. rhen I was a raging bull.. my partner went goodness we are having bad today.. yeh cheers mate I went to bed in the end..
so I'm hoping this is it..
I can't even blame it on the medication cause I'm not on any 🙈..
How you feeling now you was reassured? Sometimes the medication can make you feel like you have I know I asked before.. I'm doing a natural one with no medication this time an I'm so worried.. when is your transfer?

I seen someone's on here saying about being emotional on the bucerlyn it can make you a little. I called the nurse once an asked.

@poupou I hope your feeling a little better.. just think one less day of doing them.. I'm like you hun I'm very anxious person as it is. I know how you feel an people tell you try an relax, I know it's hard but try an be kind to yourself lovely. Think this is why I'm stressing, as it worked last time an then went an now I have to do it again. An waiting for this period to bloody start.. how many embryos do you have? Is this your first time sorry trying to catch up an get to know everyone.. I found these threads help a lot.. thinking of you ❤️

@UnicornPuff good luck today lovely xx

@Rumtopf hope day 2 of burcerlyn is kind to you xx

pattaz2711 · 02/09/2020 07:56

@UnicornPuff good luck today! Hope everything goes well xx

HavingFaith · 02/09/2020 08:40

@ChicaXS glad your first injection went well!! I was on cetrotide as well, it does sting a little but it’s nothing too bad - I’m sure you’ll be fine with that one too 😊

@zebra80 hope you enjoy your day off!!

@thefishthatcouldwish wishing you a great first day back at school! Can’t even imagine the stress that comes with teaching at the moment but hope it all goes as smoothly as possible

@JandL2020 sorry you’re not feeling great today - fingers crossed the tea helps and the cramps and bloating ease soon x

@pattaz2711 sounds like it’s defo on the way!!
I had a lovely Accupuncturist - I cent remember the website I found her via but if you’re London based, I can share her details. I always felt so calm and relaxed after seeing her and one when AF decided to completely disappear I told my acupuncturist and she focused on that for the session and AF arrived less than 48hrs later - who knows if it was because of the Accupuncture but it didn't seem to hurts things!

poupou · 02/09/2020 09:34

@pattaz2711 ! I am trying to be as calm as possible and also positive! I am so so sorry for all that you have been through. And of course i completely understand how worried and anxious you are. I find that instead of thinking what and if will happen to take one day at the time and then go to the next. So there wont be any expectations and just have to focus on that day. I am anxious as unfortunately i am more aware or learned to process things in numbers and evaluate what can go wrong % of success and possibilities all due to my work and training (medical field). But with IVF you can not predict anything as i understood and you can not control anything (this is so weird as its supposed to be controlled fertilisation )! This is my first ivf i had a fresh cycle that was all freeze and i only have 2 frozen embryos (low AMH and poor responder and had a terrible time). Be positive and you are stronger than you even realise.

poupou · 02/09/2020 09:35

@pattaz2711 as @HavingFaith said i found accupucture weirdly calming and that it was one thing that i was doing that might have helped.

HavingFaith · 02/09/2020 10:04

@JandL2020 forgot you have a scan today - sending positive vibes for it!x

JandL2020 · 02/09/2020 11:22

Hi all. Scan went well - there is 19 on one side and 14 on other (no wonder I’m feeling crampy!) - quite a few are small but a few are larger. Egg collection still on track for Monday. Fingers crossed for a few good ones and some to freeze xx

Alexm06 · 02/09/2020 11:40

@JandL2020 wow that seems like a lot! But the more the better haha. Was that your second scan since starting stims?

poupou · 02/09/2020 11:45

@JandL2020 ! That is amazing! Well done!!!! I imagine you are feeling quite uncomfortable butmonday is not far away! Best of luck with the EC!

HavingFaith · 02/09/2020 11:48

@JandL2020 oh wow that’s a massive haul!! So glad all is going well for you! Bring on Monday!x

JandL2020 · 02/09/2020 11:49

Thanks ladies. I imagine a lot with die off but fingers crossed by Friday have a few more looking bigger. Yeah was my 2nd scan. Think they’re monitoring me closely cos of my high AMH. I should be working now but these meds are kicking my arse and I’m going to bed instead! Xx

79andnotout · 02/09/2020 12:08

That's great @JandL2020 - and yes no wonder you feel crap, ovaries on overdrive!

ivfjourney5 · 02/09/2020 12:09

@JandL2020 wow what results! I know exactly how you will be feeling right now! I had a haul when I had egg collection in July. They monitored me closely due to OHSS risk, I didn't take my last stim and they swapped my trigger to try and prevent OHSS. Have they mentioned the possibility of freeze all? I had to have freeze all due to the number of eggs collected, but its totally worth the wait so that your body is in the best condition for transfer. I hope you've got lots of loose comfy pjs x

Yes they have so I’m mentally prepared for it. Safety first I guess! How long did you wait have to wait before FET? I’ve got very stretchy leggings which are so comfortable but I wish I had some pjs. I may purchase some IVF socks to wear around the house too X

ivfjourney5 · 02/09/2020 12:34

@JandL2020 it's good they've let you know so you can prepare, during my scans the likelihood increased each time, then the last scan it was fully confirmed. A perk was that I didn't need to have a progesterone blood test 😂 It'll be just under 8 weeks between my egg collection and my transfer date, they wanted me to have two bleeds. It really hasn't seemed that long though because I was back on norethistertone and buserelin 3 weeks after egg collection x

JandL2020 · 02/09/2020 12:41

Wow 8 weeks 😔 so it could be November time. More time to lose some weight I guess and get fitter. Meh! 😂 xx
