Sept IVF/FET

I can’t see a Sept cycle up yet so thought I’d start one. Currently TTC #2. Our March FET was postponed due to Covid and we had a FET in July which sadly resulted in a BFN last week. Had our follow up last night and to our surprise we can try again straight away so signing consents next week and starting down reg in 2.5 weeks. Told the cycle went perfectly and must have been an embryo issue so we aren’t changing protocol but going for double embryo transfer this time. Anyone else looking to cycle/ transfer in Sept? Or am I a bit early/ keen 😂

@KassT that’s good news. I feel the same way. But I guess we just have to roll the dice.

@ChicaXS thanks for the encouragement. Tbh. Although I’ve always been very fit and healthy, I’ve recently been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and started on various medications, so I don’t feel like my chances are very good... but you never know. Fingers crossed. Annoying about the blood in your urine, hopefully you’ll know what it is soon enough x

@79andnotout I think it was because my AMH is 3.12, that’s why they think my percentage is lower and possibly because I have an autoimmune condition that isn’t massively under control atm. What was your AMH? Also meds wise they have given me Menopur 450 And Cerotide 0.25 at day 5 and then I think they will give me Gonal F for trigger.. I haven’t looked at all the meds, just put them straight into the fridge :/
BTW I LOVE 💗 greyhounds. My dad used to have a rescue, such lovely animals. I used to have a whippet, bless his soul 💜. Not the weather tonight for the precious sighthounds, more like the sofa with their legs up in the air! Haha

I just went for a walk around the park. Trying to relax as the dr told me she could see how anxious I am. I don’t know how to stop feeling so anxious. Will try doing a body scan and having a bath I think.

I don’t know if I will start tomorrow yet or not. It depends on whether the Covid swab result comes back in time, if not, I’ll have the meds in my fridge for a month extra, doh!

@UnicornPuff I hope you feel better soon, maybe get an early night x

@HavingFaith and @Lemongrass1 ! Best of luck with your scans!
I am starting buserelin on saturday so i am not sure how worse the side effects will be! @havingfaith so glad that side effects subsided. Noretheristone this time is pretty bad for me with nausea and feeling exhausted and dehydrated and bloated. But slowly getting there! I am stopping noretheristone on the 3rd september and hopping AF will come 3 days after to get the baseline scan.
@KassT! Dont stress about the last three months. Its exciting to start and onviously nerve racking. Depending on your protocol (short/ long and medication) side effects are different but keep in mind that each person is different and you might not get any at all! Just focused on this journey from now on!

KassT · 27/08/2020 22:24

@Sian7919 yes, I'm actually very happy to be able to start down reg tomorrow, I'm on CD14 today, nurse wanted me to start on my next CD14, but hubby managed to talk the nurse into letting us start tomorrow so we don't lose a month. He has done well. 😊 Good luck with your meds, I hope you get no side effect and a great result.

@poupou you are right, I should focus on the present not the past. All the terms and meds are new to me so I'm not sure what is what yet. Guess mine is a long protocol? As I start Noretheristone tomorrow for 10days? Or for 14 days..I forgot.... hope you feel better with the rest of your Noretheristone.

poupou · 27/08/2020 22:34

@KassT ! Thank you. Its not as bad as it sounds regarding side effects but i feel slightly drained and not used to be feeling so weak! But i power through it. No other alternative!
Well done of managing to start this cycle! Well done to your husband!
You will probably be on noretheristone for 10-14 days. Its a long protocol. This is just for the clinic to regulate your next bleed. Noretheristone stops you having a period. When you stop you will have a bleed and your first scan baseline and then start stimulation! Smile

JandL2020 · 28/08/2020 07:47

Anyone else struggling to fall asleep on stims? I never usually struggle to x

HavingFaith · 28/08/2020 09:16

@poupou thank you! Just had the scan - all is looking good so I can start progynova. I always get so nervous when they take my temperature in case it’s high and they tell me to go home 😅
Ahh I’m sorry the norethisterone is giving you those side effects. Hope the 3rd comes quickly!

@KassT yay for starting down reg today!

@unknownscot the two times I’ve had to take norethisterone, I’ve always had to wait for a bleed and then a baseline scan before moving onto the next step. But one thing I’ve picked up from this forum is that all clinics do things slightly differently so if you’re unsure, best to double check with your clinic 😊

Hope you all have great Fridays x

HavingFaith · 28/08/2020 09:19

@JandL2020 when I was stimming I always woke up at 5am 🙃 I’ve definitely heard other people mention it affects their sleep. Hope it settles soon because lack of sleep is so horrible xx

79andnotout · 28/08/2020 09:23

Ah @Sian7919 - yes quite possibly AMH then. Mine has varied between 8-13 over the past three years, I've had it tested multiple times while I was waiting for the NHS to give me IVF. I also have auto-immune issues - I've had thyroid problems for a decade now and i was way out of whack last year when I was supposed to start IVF, that's one of the reasons I've been so delayed (covid is the other). What auto-immune problems have you?

I'm glad I haven't had to downreg. I know it's supposed to be better for egg numbers and quality but it doesn't sound much fun! Glad most of you are coming to the end of it now.

Ah okay makes sense then. Thought maybe I was stressing but I was quite relaxed yesterday (at least I’m trying to be). Luckily I can work from home today - lying on the sofa and not doing very much! Xx

Eggling · 28/08/2020 11:47

@Lemongrass1 fingers crossed for good news for your scan! I'm doing a short medicated FET cycle, so on day 2 of taking oestrogen (day 3 overall).

@unknownscot like @HavingFaith I've always had to wait for a bleed after norithisterone (which I've discovered doesn't seem to actually work on me but that's another story!). I'd second ringing your clinic to check, they do all seem to be slightly different.

Hope everyone's day is going well.
Like lots of you have said, weather is miserable here! I'm off work so planning on spending the afternoon snuggling with the cat 😊

Sian7919 · 28/08/2020 11:47

Hi everyone, just sat waiting for my baseline US, they wanted to do a more up to date one before starting as my last one was before Covid. I spoke to the nurse over the telephone earlier to see if I could start today. She didn’t think it sounded too hopeful, so Strong possibility that I won’t be doing :( fingers crossed tho. And fingers crossed still a decent amount of follicles as before 🙂

HavingFaith · 28/08/2020 12:08

@Sian7919 fingers crossed for you!x

@Eggling how are you getting on with the oestrogen? I just took my first progynova tablet. I haven’t taken this before so no idea what to expect from this one.

Sian7919 · 28/08/2020 12:19

They’re not hopeful to start today and my scan only showed 2 follicles left and 7 right so much less than the 6 and 8 previously. Feeling disappointed ☹️

ChicaXS · 28/08/2020 12:24

Afternoon ladies!
@unknownscot usually 2-5 days after your course of nothesterone you will bleed and it’s only then, usually on day 2, you start stims. I am currently waiting for my period as it was my last day of nothesterone yesterday. I’m absolutely exhausted today, cancelled my workout!

@poupou I feel you regarding the side effects of nothesterone- I hate it. I’m so drained today, I was transformed into a stroppy teenager - spots and all. It will be over soon lol! X

poupou · 28/08/2020 12:45

@HavingFaith great news for the start of oestrogen!
@Sian7919! I am sorry if you are not starting today, i am not 100% sure why though. But dont feel disappointed about follicles as they vary from cycle to cycle and during stimulation there is the chance of new ones also developing.
@ChicaXS thank you! I thought i was imagining the side effects or i was overreacting! Felling pretty drained and bloated (it appears i am getting all the side effects hahah) as well but one more week on this! It really sucks! I hope AF arrives soon as i found the bloating goes away!

Eggling · 28/08/2020 13:34

@HavingFaith it's ok so far - I have a few bad spots but think I had them coming anyway and been a bit anxious and emotional but again that is nothing new! Also felt queasy this morning but I take metformin too which sometimes makes me feel like that so 🤷‍♀️ Early days though so we'll see what else develops I guess!

KassT · 28/08/2020 13:42

@poupou thank you for the information, that's certainly helpful to know what the meds are for when I'm taking them.😊

@HavingFaith so glad your scan went well, hope you get on well with progynova. By the way I read another thread and think you are with UCLH too? How do you find them?

@Sian7919 you have more follicles then I have already and I'm still hopeful, at the end of the day we only need 1 good one 😉I hope you can start today, have my fingers crossed for you!

79andnotout · 28/08/2020 14:38

@Sian7919 - it does seem like the number of follicles varies a lot. There's no point worrying at this stage now, it's pretty much out of our hands from here on in. We are at the mercy of luck and science!

Lemongrass1 · 28/08/2020 15:10

@unknownscot I’m the same as everyone else. When I took norethisterone waited for a bleed a few days later and then started stims on CD2.

@Sian7919 sorry to hear it’s not looking promising for starting this cycle. Like everyone else says try not to worry too much about no of follicles as can vary from cycle to cycle

@HavingFaith great you’ve started progynova, hopefully I’ll be starting next week

@KassT how are you finding Downreg?

I’m just counting the days until Thurs now. Suddenly feel really exhausted though. Is anyone else feeling totally pooped? X

Alexm06 · 28/08/2020 15:33

Hi everyone!
I have just started my first round of the IVF injections (today will be day 2 of injections). This was after a chance of possibly not starting this month as they found a cyst when doing the ultrasound. They ended up taking some bloods and found out the cyst wasn’t producing hormones meaning I could start yesterday. Don’t really know what to expect from now as I’ve soo many posts with different experiences so I’m just kind of winging it at the moment.

Hope everything goes well for everyone on this cycle!

HavingFaith · 28/08/2020 15:51

@Sian7919 sorry things aren’t going to plan - sending you hugs x

@Eggling ahh the spots are driving me insane! I currently have a massive one right in the middle of my forehead 🙃

@KassT I am at UCLH - I find them pretty good! Communication and clarity about restarting treatment after lockdown lifted was a little frustrating but as soon as I was able to speak to one of the nurses everything was fine again. How about you?

@Lemongrass1 the last couple of days I’ve been so sleepy all day. Today is the only day I feel energised and I think that’s because the scan went well this morning. The worry of it all and hoping scans go well etc is so draining!

Hey @Alexm06 that’s great you’ve been able to get started! Must have been a massive relief to hear the cyst won’t interfere with your treatment 😊

Alexm06 · 28/08/2020 16:06

@HavingFaith Yes it definitely was especially with everything being delayed for everyone because of Covid I don’t think anyone wants a setback. How is your process coming along? (Sorry there are so many posts on here I couldn’t keep up haha)

ivfjourney5 · 28/08/2020 16:25

@Eggling that sounds like my perfect afternoon, I love a snuggle with my cats!

@Sian7919 really sorry to hear that news today, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that the news changes 🤞🏼

@Alexm06 welcome and good luck! Good to hear that you've been able to start and things are going well!

I've just had my second acupuncture session and I'm so tired. I think an afternoon nap is on the cards!

Sian7919 · 28/08/2020 17:27

I got the go ahead! Just reading about how to do the injections now! Here we go! Thanks for all your messages and welcome @Alexm06.

@ivfjourney5 would you recommend acupuncture then? I might try it as I'm super anxious :/ I can't believe I'm starting already.. I haven't told anyone except my partner, so it's great to be able to talk online, thanks everyone x

Alexm06 · 28/08/2020 17:37

@Sian7919 that’s amazing!! I was like that the Tuesday and Wednesday waiting to hear if I could start it was horrible! But so happy for you!
