Hi, we are starting a FET this month after a bit of back and forth with the clinic. Start downreg on Fri with ET hopefully first week of July. Wondering if anyone else cycling around the same time? X

@Kiza I have low AMH and high FSH and we found a clinic that specialises in that, called CREATE in St Paul's. They do payment plans over a year or two years. They are lovely too.

Heart4 · 24/06/2020 12:44

@Janefx40 fantastic to hear you had success at 41.
I never cared about my age until all of this. Recently I struggle to not feel like it's the end of the world if I don't have a baby... I try to enjoy each day and to remember it's a privilege to grow old, as some don't get that chance.

Lemongrass1 · 24/06/2020 13:12

@Heart4 I’m 41. We are having a FET with embryos frozen when I was 38. I don’t think we will do another fresh cycle so all our bets are on these frosties..

I was just googling the full fat milk thing and I enjoyed reading this so thought I'd share: theduff.co.uk/ivf-food-pomegranate-pineapple-chips-coq10-dhea-acupuncture/

Heart4 · 24/06/2020 13:56

@Lemongrass1 oh good luck with your frosties. Really good that you got them before 40, I wish I'd done that.

Heart4 · 24/06/2020 14:53

@RosettaR that's an interesting read. I'll try anything 🍍🥛🙏

Janefx40 · 24/06/2020 16:03

@RosettaR love that blog - it's so direct. I'll go for the Brazil nuts then and stay away from the pineapple. Have you ever tried to eat pineapple core? It is hard going!!!

KittyFoster · 24/06/2020 19:25

Hello ladies, I hope you don’t mind if I join you

We had our first cycle abroad in March just before the Covid madness started and were lucky enough to have 5 frozen embryos. Before stimms, the doctor had informed me about the probability of having a freeze all Cycle due to the risk of OHSS so I did not want to take any risks. Then with the airports closing, we had to put everything on hold and I had put the transfer at the back of my mind ( kind of!).

So I’m really pleased now that where we live, the Government has eased the restrictions and we can travel for FET next monthSmile

Today we had a video call with the clinic to explain to us about the one-time down regulation injection which I have to take this Friday. I must admit that I was quite anxious and overwhelmed afterwards, so we have now arranged to have it administered by our GP- hopefully it will be a smooth process! My partner is quite relieved that he doesn’t have to do it himselfGrin

If all goes well, I have a scan and estradiol blood test scheduled for the second day of my cycle and then the clinic will advise further about the required treatment. During the Stimms I was really calm, relaxed and positive about the process- my friends who know were quite surprised as we all assumed I would have more side effects. Now it is becoming real again and I’m finding it very hard to concentrate- I’m scared of what the outcome will be, so I definitely need some positivity!

Looking forward to share my journey with you all and I hope that we will have a lot of positive outcomes!!! Xxx

Rovera12 · 24/06/2020 20:03

Welcome to all the new ladies. I hope you all are feeling great in this hot weather?

I remember @Bestofyou1982 and @Nmvasey from the previous thread.

I am on day 3 of down Reg with burselin 0.5ml, still feeling ok, no side effects yet 😁

Ash75454 · 24/06/2020 20:40

Hi All
Been on buserelin 2 weeks and finally AF has arrived! I need to call clinic in morning now but 🤞 all good to go ahead for a July FET. This will be my third FET. The second one was back in May 2017 and resulted in my beautiful 2.5yr old daughter. This website was such a lovely support group last time. Wishing you all the best luck

Nmvasey · 24/06/2020 22:01

Hi @Rovera12 here we go again, hopefully luck is on our side this time.

I've got another 1.5 weeks until I start and I'm on the long protocol. It's so strange that I can't wait to get the needles out again as I suppose it feels like a step closer to something happening 🙏 xx

Rovera12 · 24/06/2020 22:49

@Nmvasey 1.5weeks not too long to go😁.
I am a little worried as the last cycle there was nothing to freeze , even if we retrieved a lot of eggs and 9 fertilised. The only different thing now is that I am going for a long protocol.

I have questions for the ladies who have had long protocol in the past and please pardon me if the questions are a bit silly ?

How many weeks did you down reg for ?
Did you get your period during down reg?
After three weeks of down reg did you start stims?
When you started stims did you get your period again or what ?

I know everyone is different but can you please share your experiences with me.

RosettaR · 25/06/2020 10:29

Can anyone help me with a question? How crucial is an alcohol swab when injecting yourself? I sent my DH out for some yesterday but he came back with antibacterial wipes. Can I use those? Really don't fancy walking to the pharmacy this afternoon ... I will melt!

RosettaR · 25/06/2020 10:47

@Janefx40 I've not no but I've tried plenty of other unpleasant things!

Welcome @KittyFoster, glad you're able to get started again! And welcome @Ash75454!

@Rovera12 I can answer some of those since I've down regulated successfully! I was down regging 3.5 weeks and I got my period after 8 days, so only a few days later than it would have been naturally. They asked me to wait a couple of days before stims so I'm starting tonight.

Lemongrass1 · 25/06/2020 10:53

@RosettaR my clinic used to provide them with the needles etc on previous FET. But they have stopped so I assumed they weren’t necessary, I didn’t actually bother to check with them though 😳 Anyhow I’ve been using without for nearly 3 weeks. You can buy 100 on amazon for

Hi everyone , I had a FET with my last two frosty embabies yesterday. Day 1 of 2 ww!

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 25/06/2020 11:23

@BuffyFanForever Congratulations on your FET!
Are you working during your TWW? I’m having a FET very soon and I think I’ll try and keep myself as busy as possible!

@RosettaR
I don’t use an alcohol swab at all! So far so good... How have you been feeling?

Lemongrass1 · 25/06/2020 11:27

Welcome @KittyFoster and @Ash75454- great to hear AF started!

@BuffyFanForever congrats on being PUPO!

@Rovera12 I’ve only done downreg with a FET but for the last 3 times I’ve downregulated (starting injections at CD21) I’ve bled around day12 of injections so a few days late. The downreg scan is usually done around 2-3 weeks after starting injections and after you’ve had a bleed. Some ladies can have very delayed bleed with downreg. I don’t think you should bleed again during stims. I’m afraid I don’t know when they stop the injections for downreg during a long protocol fresh cycle as I’ve only done a short cycle before. X

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 25/06/2020 11:39

@KittyFoster

Welcome to the group!
I also had a few embryos frozen just before Covid.
I’ve been having buserelin injections daily.
I’m now on Estradiol twice a day and soon will increase to x3 day.
I have a scan tomorrow to see how things are going. If you have any qu’s then just ask as think I’m a tiny bit further ahead than you.

Feeling scared is ok.
Feeling overwhelmed is ok.
Feeling excited one min and scared the next is also ok.
Totally normal to feel a huge range of feelings.
I just try and accept how I feel and try to think about TODAY and not the future.

So much is out of our control at the moment (IVF and Corona coaster!) which can make you feel suffocated/scared/anxious.

So try and do things that you can control...
Eating, resting and LOTS of self care
Think about what you read/watch - Social media/IVF blogs/sites 24:7 is not good for the mind

I am really enjoying being healthy and whatever the outcome of my FET I’ll know I’m as strong as I can be and I have done everything possible to prepare my body and brain! All sounds a bit airy fairy but you must look after yourself and not overthink!!!!! Xxxxxxxx

Janefx40 · 25/06/2020 16:05

@BuffyFanForever good luck. I think the wait is the hardest bit 💪🏻💪🏻

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip good luck with the scan. Thanks too for the wise words. You are definitely right about trying to take each day as it comes although I've not been very good at that in the past.

I know I'm new but loving this thread...

Had hysteroscopy today. Love the sedation - would have that more often if they'd allow it !

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 25/06/2020 17:09

@Janefx40

Totally agree r.e. Sedation!!!!!! It should be offered each time!
Thanks for the good luck! At least the clinic should be fairly cool 😎
Did you say that you’ve got one daughter through IVF? It must be wonderful knowing you are trying again after it being successful.
Xxxx

Bestofyou1982 · 25/06/2020 17:38

@BuffyFanForever Congratulations on your FET.
I had my final scan today, lining 10cm so have been given a transfer date of 30th June. So not long now. Have felt generally OK but massive headache today that I can't shift. Right over my left eye. Not pleasant.

Welcome to new ladies, had connection issues with phone last couple of day so I'm looking forward to catching up on the posts I've missed on here.

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 25/06/2020 19:31

@Bestofyou1982
Ooooh that’s very exciting about your transfer date!!! So close now. You must be very excited!
I have a Day 10 scan tomorrow to check the lining. Do you know how many lining scans you had before they gave you transfer date?
This will be my first lining scan as my previous one were for down reg checks.

BeHereNowx32 · 25/06/2020 19:32

Hello! Joining without reading the full thread, but I will try and catch up with as many messages as I can.

I am currently taking oestrogen tablets for a modified FET. This will be my 5th transfer in total, but I have a daughter from my last transfer. (That was a fresh cycle).

I’m full of mixed emotions this time round. Still feeling nervous, but it is all happening so quickly that I can barely keep up with what’s going on.

Just introducing myself for now 👋

Lemongrass1 · 25/06/2020 20:24

@Janefx40 that’s great they did under sedation. I had 2 without and it was pretty awful. Mine were done while I was on a NHS cycle and I was told there was no wait list if done without sedation, after experiencing it I now know why 🤣

@Bestofyou1982 great news on the transfer date!

@BeHereNowx32 welcome to the group! Do you know when your liking scan is? I’ve been on oestrogen for a few days and am going back in a weeks time.

AFM got my Covid swab result today and it was negative. I wasn’t expecting it to be positive but it’s still a relief!
