Hi, we are starting a FET this month after a bit of back and forth with the clinic. Start downreg on Fri with ET hopefully first week of July. Wondering if anyone else cycling around the same time? X

@Lemongrass1 thanks for the tips! Glad your covid test was negative, that must be a relief!

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip I've been feeling a lot better since my down reg bleed, less tired and sleeping better. How are you doing? Thanks for your post, it really helped! Good luck for your scan tomorrow!

@Janefx40 yes I secretly enjoyed my hysteroscopy. They looked after me really well and it was a good excuse to sit in front of the TV for the rest of the day to recover from the sedation.

@Bestofyou1982 that's great you have a date, not long now ...

Welcome @BeHereNowx32

Well I just did my first injection, I was really scared (and shaking) but it was fine. Only thing is that some liquid dribbled out at the end so I think I must have done it too fast - I am on a high dose so I guess I have to be extra slow. I will do it much slower tomorrow. Hopefully it won't impact the treatment that I didn't get a full dose on the first day.

Nmvasey · 25/06/2020 22:28

@Rovera12 I was on long protocol for my first cycle and I was on Buserelin for just over 3 weeks and I did have a bleed in that time but not whilst on stims. I am having a higher dose for stims this time and when my follicles are at a good size (touch wood) they're going to make me go 1 or 2 days longer before triggering as only 2 of my 6
Eggs retrieved were mature last time : ( x

KittyFoster · 25/06/2020 22:29

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip thank you for your encouraging post. Good luck for your lining scan tomorrow and hopefully you can move to the next phase.

I try to be positive as much as possible and have loads of things to keep me occupied- my job and we have just moved into our new home a month ago and there is still loads to do. The days seem to fly by. But I also need to find some time for myself.

During stimms I downloaded the mindful ivf app which was really helpful. I think I need to start again for this phase. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it. I also had a session of acupuncture today, which totally relaxes me. It is the only time in the week that I feel like I am doing something for myself.

Tomorrow I have the appointment at the GP for the down regulation injection and I have invited 3 friends to come over in the afternoon so we can chill outside with some Prosecco 😀 so at least I have something to look forward to!

BeHereNowx32 · 26/06/2020 06:20

@Lemongrass1 my scan is on Monday. My period just finished a couple of days ago, so it really doesn’t seem like much time for it to thicken. Good luck for your scan.

@KittyFoster I also have the mindful ivf app. Which I used my last cycle, but I keep forgetting to use it this time round. Def going to try today. Thanks for reminding me.

Parkandride · 26/06/2020 07:03

Welcome everyone Smile

Congrats on being pupo @BuffyFanForever where you alone for transfer? I feel that's going to be the weirdest part with DH not allowed in

Covid test done yesterday, makes your eyes water a bit! Now 10 days or so until period is due to get things started

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 26/06/2020 12:17

My lining is 8.8mm and looking ‘beautiful’ apparently!!!! That’s what the nurse said today. wohoooo!

Bestofyou1982 · 26/06/2020 12:51

@ UncleBrynsfishingtrip that's brilliant news! :-) Do you have a date yet for moving forward?

KittyFoster · 26/06/2020 13:27

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip fantastic! What is the next step now?

Congratulations on being PUPO@BuffyFanForever!! When is the OTD?

I had my downreg injection earlier today. The area is still a bit sore- I can feel it when I’m sitting down, but everything went smoothly. Now I just have to wait for my period to start to get to the next stage

Janefx40 · 26/06/2020 13:44

Oooo well done @UncleBrynsfishingtrip a beautiful lining sounds like very good news!!!

@BeHereNowx32 welcome to the thread. We kept each other company on our previous IVF journey so it's lovely to be back on a thread together.

@KittyFoster glad the injection went ok. Have fun with your pals and thanks for the tip about the app. I will download it.

@RosettaR well done on the first injection. Don't worry about the dribble of liquid - it won't affect anything - it will be a tiny amount and we all do things like that as we are learning to do the injections.

@Parkandride and @Lemongrass1 is Covid testing standard then? My clinic haven't mentioned it.

@Nmvasey waiting longer for EC sounds sensible. Hopefully that will make all the difference

@Bestofyou1982 your lining sounds great and it must be exciting to have a date for transfer!

Xxx

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 26/06/2020 15:36

Thanks guys! I’m waiting for phonecall from the clinic to give me FET date. It’ll be next week at some point.

If you have been through IVF before did you tell anyone the transfer date? Xx

BeHereNowx32 · 26/06/2020 15:56

@Janefx40 thank you. Can’t believe we are doing it at the same fine again. You gave me lots of support :)

BeHereNowx32 · 26/06/2020 15:57

SnarkyGorgon · 26/06/2020 17:19

Hi everyone, mind if I join? I’m on day 3 of my first cycle, doing the short protocol. I’m really lucky in that I have a high AMH and anterior follicle count, but that puts me at high risk for OHSS, so it looks like it’s going to be a freeze all cycle. I think they’re proposing a natural FET afterwards with just progesterone- does that sound right?!

It’s all a bit overwhelming at the moment, I thought I was ok but I got weirdly emotional after the first injection last night. I think it’s because it’s taken so long to get to this point and having no explanation for why TTC hasn’t worked for us. We were supposed to start IVF 2 years ago, but I found out I was pregnant the month before we were supposed to start. I ended up having a MMC, which was the worst experience of my life and haven’t been able to get pregnant again. I will be very relieved to get some blasts in the chiller.

Heart4 · 26/06/2020 19:21

@SnarkyGorgon I'm so sorry to hear about your MMC. That must have been awful. We are all here to support each other. I'm new too and it's a lovely group of ladies.

SnarkWeek · 26/06/2020 20:06

Thanks Heart it was horrendous, and so cruel because the timing had made it feel like it was meant to be. Thanks so much, this whole process can feel so incredibly lonely. Here’s to new beginning

Rovera12 · 26/06/2020 23:01

Thanks ladies for updating me on long protocol. Hoping everything’s goes smoothly for everyone. Xxx

Lemongrass1 · 27/06/2020 08:07

@RosettaR well done on getting your first injection done! The rest will be much easier

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip great news on lining, have you got your transfer date yet?

@BeHereNowx32 good luck for your scan on Mon

@SnarkyGorgon so sorry to hear about your MMC, that is particularly cruel timing

@Janefx40 I think it really varies from clinic to clinic. Some just do questionnaire and temp check, some do a one off covid swab, ours do temp check, symptom questionnaire with every visit and x3 Covid swabs spread throughout treatment 😬

Tarsette · 27/06/2020 15:39

@SnarkyGorgon so sorry to hear about your MMC. That must have been a terrible experience... having a high follicle count so ensure you get lots of eggs!

@Heart4 I am also 40 and turning 41 in 2 weeks Shock. this will be my last try but not so much because of age, more because I feel there are only so many FET’s I can do (psychologically and financially!).

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip Great news about your lining! Hope you get a transfer date soon! I didn’t tell anyone about IVF, let alone about my transfer date! I just felt it would raise expectations among people who know nothing about IVF and expect it to work at the first attempt. But then if I had a miscarriage or something, it would be really crap not being able to discuss it with anyone...

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 27/06/2020 17:07

I’ve told lots of people about IVF as I feel it’s my way of coping and I feel so lucky to be able to have the chance to do it. I totally understand that some people can’t or prefer not to tell anyone!
I have told my mum my transfer date which is in about a week!!!!!!! Yippee!! Very very hard keeping it from my siblings as we are very close but they’ll be the first to know the result!

I might feel differently but I said to my husband that either way this cycle works out we will further on our ‘family’ journey.
I think we wont try IVF again after this attempt as we have looked at adoption before we started IVF.
I feel so calm about it all right now and I’ve been supported soooooooo well by my work. They have given me the last 12 weeks off which has helped me sooooo much!
Hope everyone is ok and enjoying the cooler weather. Xxx

RosettaR · 28/06/2020 08:27

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip that's great news about your lining! And that you have a transfer date!

I've also told quite a few people about ivf, I've told a few at work because things are really busy and stressful at the moment and I wanted them to understand why I'm trying not to work late and put pressure on myself. Also I have some lovely colleagues who I knew would be really supportive.

On the other hand as @Tarsette says a lot of people aren't aware of the uncertainties with ivf and can be insensitive. One of the people I've told responded "that's wonderful". I know she was just trying to be positive, but it still felt strange. And someone my husband told more or less said "yay you're having a baby!" Not a good thing to hear when you're at the beginning of the process and very aware of the success rates!

@SnarkyGorgon sorry to hear about your MMC. Hopefully you'll end up with lots of frosties!

Bestofyou1982 · 28/06/2020 15:18

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip great to hear you have your date now. We must be quite similar time wise, as ours is Tuesday.

@SnarkyGorgon sorry to hear about your MC. How are you feeling on your meds at the moment?

How is everyone doing today? I'm trying to do all of the more manual labour jobs that I may not want to do next week to be cautious. So currently stripping lining paper from the hall stairs and landing.
Has anyone found that the pessaries upset their stomach? Been on them since Thuraday and today my stomach feels like it is being stirred. Hope everyone is good today.

Sorry to hear about your MC. What is your AMH and AFC, if you don't mind asking? I am a bit worried I might be at high risk for OHSS too. My amh is 33.1
Janefx40 · 28/06/2020 19:54

@Bestofyou1982 very impressed with your DIY. I've not done anything useful.

Am currently trying to work out how to "attend" work zoom meetings at 8:15am and 10am around a clinic appointment at 9am in central London (over an hour from home!) I've not told work about doing a FET. If cafes were open it would be simple to find a seat with wifi but as things stand it's going to be tricky.

This is a big week for the thread. Two transfers at least and quite a few scans. Good luck everyone xxx

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 28/06/2020 19:57

Have a great week everyone.
@Janefx40 Can you make up another reason to work that you need time off? Family situation? Must be stressful juggling so many zooms!! I hate zooming!!!!!!

RosettaR · 28/06/2020 20:47

@Janefx40 I agree, can you say it's a doctor or dentist appointment, or a blood test? And either don't join the calls or rearrange them if you are a crucial person? My strategy with that kind of thing has been to book a half day holiday, block my diary out and hope people don't ask, or if they do that they're happy with "hospital appointment" as an answer. I realise I am lucky that my work is generally very flexible and I can get away with that.
