@KittyFoster good luck with your scan xxx

Janefx40 · 22/07/2020 12:23

@RosettaR good luck with the test. I was absolutely bricking it by the end. Are you getting a blood test or doing it at home? X

Bestofyou1982 · 22/07/2020 12:45

@Heart4 and @KittyFoster thanks for messages. Bleeding stopped and felling very nauseous and light headed today so having a sofa day. I'm hoping nausea is a good sign that something still going on with embryo 2 but aware it could just be all the ongoing medications. Fingers crossed for a positive test tomorrow morning.
@Kittyfoster sorry to hear you are feeling anxious. Harder said than done but take each day at a time so as not to drive yourself too nuts. So many twists and turns with IVF. I've found planning ahead rarely goes to plan.

@Lemongrass1 and @UncleBrynsfishingtrip how are you both today?
@Rovera12 happy anniversary! Hope the day is going well xx

@RosettaR looks like we 're testing buddies tomorrow. How you feeling about testing? Im trying to visualise a +ve, although I know it will have no impact at all on actual result.

Janefx40 · 22/07/2020 12:48

@Bestofyou1982 sofa day sounds good. Are you doing a home test or blood test tomorrow? X

Bestofyou1982 · 22/07/2020 13:03

@Janefx40 Have been told to do a home urine test tomorrow. Hoping the nausea today is a good sign. Then if positive, scan at clinic on Monday to see of viable.
How are you doing @Janefx40?

Goramm · 22/07/2020 13:08

Hi ladies, wanted to revert to you all and just let you know that we've lost this cycle. Turns out that it was a chemical pregnancy with the test turning positive day 8 and then negative the day after. I'll see you in a few months again (or maybe not, keeping my fingers crossed for you xx)

Rovera12 · 22/07/2020 13:32

Hi all, thanks for the wishes anniversary went well.

I had my scan today. It’s day 9 of my treatment but I have stims for 8 days.

My lining they said was fine @11.7 or .9 .

Well I have got 9 follicles above 12mm on my right and the left is not really responding compared to the right. Left follicles still small.
Fingers crossed for Friday, they think I might have egg collection after Friday scan.

Bestofyou1982 · 22/07/2020 13:49

@Goramm sorry to hear your update. You sound positive about moving forward. All the best to you xx

@Rovera12 sounds like a positive step. Enjoy the rest of your day xx

Janefx40 · 22/07/2020 14:00

@Goramm I'm so sorry. This process can be heartbreaking and especially hard to go from positive to negative like that.

@Bestofyou1982 Best of luck for testing tomorrow. Not sure whether I prefer home tests or blood tests - I've been at clinics that do both. Home tests are more emotionally intense and anxiety producing but you get the result without waiting for a phone call at least. Will be rooting for that second embryo.

Rovera12 · 22/07/2020 14:36

@Bestofyou1982 thank you .

Ladies what is your take about the 2ww, work or stay home? I don’t mind working but it’s a very busy unit .

I work in a dialysis unit (acute not satellite) we move beds, patients and machines most of the times. I am worried about all that .
Sometimes we are so short of nurses that you hoist a patient alone.

I went to my matron to ask if I have to go through IVF wat support can she give ? She said don’t worry you will be fine, the work here won’t cause a miscarriage, also said I should read Zita West Boom on IVF. I said thanks and walked away.

This morning I had to move a machine(on wheel) that is almost 80kg. I am really confused and don’t know what to do.

Though my first cycle that failed, I was away for 2week from ET. 😐

Glitterandunicorns · 22/07/2020 14:57

@goramm I'm so sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself. Thanks

RosettaR · 22/07/2020 15:03

@KittyFoster how was your lining scan? I was similar with work, I had an absolute mountain to climb before ivf. Now I've still got loads to do but I'm struggling to care, I can't think about much beyond testing!

I am terrified about testing tomorrow.

RosettaR · 22/07/2020 15:11

@Bestofyou1982 good luck for testing tomorrow. My clinic just has me do one at home, it looks a bit involved though, it involves measuring drops of urine with a pipette! Not sure what that will be like when my hands are shaking...

Really sorry to hear that @Goramm, that must be so hard. Take care of yourself.

@Rovera12 your scan sounds really positive. That sounds tough with work though. Are you able to take a couple of days leave after the transfer? My clinic said you were fine to go back to normal activities the same day, so that's not formal advice or anything. But it might be nicer for you and stop you worrying. Or you could see what your clinic think, they are the experts I guess.

Glitterandunicorns · 22/07/2020 15:13

@Rovera12 I don't know about the TWW, but if you get a BFP, your matron will need to do a risk assessment for you. I'm sure there are rules against lifting heavy items and suchlike if you're pregnant.

In reality, I wouldn't have thought it would affect implantation, but would you feel less anxious about taking leave for it? Would you regret not taking leave if (God forbid) you got a BFN?

Hopefully some more knowledgeable ladies will be along soon.

@Bestofyou1982 best of luck for tomorrow.

I have to go for another scan tomorrow to see how my follicles are looking. I had one on Tuesday but they weren't at the correct size then. I had 7 bigger than 12mm then so I'm praying that we have more by tomorrow. I'll find out then whether egg collection will be on Saturday or Monday. I'm feeling a bit anxious already. I am a bit of a hippy though so I'm trying to do lots of meditation and visualisation so hopefully that will help.

Can I just say while I'm on, thank you all so so much for sharing your experiences and advice. This is my first time at IVF so your kind words and advice is much appreciated.

Rovera12 · 22/07/2020 15:48

@Glitterandunicorns and @RosettaR I don’t mind working but my fear is sometimes I won’t have a choice to do heavy stuff. Mostly when am on a late shift with less staff .

My best option is to take annual leave. I will speak to them at the clinic about their opinion.

@Bestofyou1982 and @RosettaR wishing the best of luck tomorrow

KittyFoster · 22/07/2020 16:11

Seems like I keep tagging the wrong people 😑 I’m really sorry about that, I’m really becoming hopeless!

@Bestofyou1982 and @RosettaR good luck for tomorrow- I will be thinking about you and have everything crossed for you to have positive results xxx

@Rovera12 is there the possibility that they give you less strenuous work? The general advice is not to do any heavy lifting, but I completely understand that it might be difficult to avoid lifting once you are on the job, you kind of do what needs to be done.
But I don’t think it’s worth the worry.

As for me, we are back from the scan. Thankfully everything seems fine and the lining is 8.4, so I think the clinic will be happy to proceed to the next step. I’m excited and nervous at the same time because it’s becoming too real now and I don’t know how I will cope if we are not successful in this round...we have been planning this since last October and I’ve tried to be positive along the way, but I feel like now we are approaching the final result after months of buildup . At the same time, I’m really looking forward to take a break from our daily routine and work. I have not yet taken a break this year (except 3 days when we traveled for egg retrieval) and I’m totally exhausted now. Looking forward to a few days of lounging and eating Grin

SpyroC · 22/07/2020 17:56

@Rovera12 I've not had to do a tww in work as both times schools have been closed. Tbh I think I'd quite like the distraction! The heavy lifting would bother me though as my clinic said to avoid it and act as if pregnant. I think they should treat you as a pregnant lady. It seems a shame if you have to use you're leave on ivf as, as I'm sure you know the tww is a weird time. You have to do what feels right for you.

Good luck for tomorrow @RosettaR and @Bestofyou1982 xx

Great news @KittyFoster x

gemmabissell · 22/07/2020 18:02

Hi

So I had an FET last Wednesday and I have been testing since Monday. I have a very obvious positive. However whereas yesterday I some symptoms extreme tiredness and extreme first, today I haven't had them as bad and my bloated feeling has completely gone. I have convinced myself that this is going to end in a chemical pregnancy, and I just can't shake this feeling like it's over. I genuinely feel as though this pregnancy has finished and I'm just waiting for the pregnancy tests to catch up now.

IVF&FET June/July cycle buddies
shazzz1xx · 22/07/2020 18:34

WOW @gemmabissell they are beautiful lines stop panicking and enjoy this moment..
CONGRATULATIONS x

Glitterandunicorns · 22/07/2020 18:44

Hi @gemmabissell congratulations! It's understandable that you're concerned, but unless you have pain and bleeding, try to put it out of your mind. I absolutely know that is easier said than done though; especially when it comes to IVF stuff!

Janefx40 · 22/07/2020 19:20

@gemmabissell firstly congratulations on such strong positives. It is totally normal to feel anxious. It is also normal to feel no symptoms at all to make you feel pregnant or to feel things one day and nothing the next. During my pregnancy I had no symptoms and then sudden period cramps that freaked me out.

I've done 3 rounds of IVF/FET. The first two times I absolutely knew it hadn't worked. I'm very intuitive and was so sure. I was "right" one time and wrong the next. The only thing I learned was that you just don't know and that can be hard to deal with. This time I was just aware there was no way of knowing.

The not knowing is very very hard. When is your official test day? Will your clinic give you a blood test?

Sending you lots of positive vibes

Xxx

Bestofyou1982 · 22/07/2020 21:30

@gemmabissell congratulations in positive. Try to enjoy the moment. Whatever happens you are pregnant now and that's amazing!

Glitterandunicorns · 22/07/2020 22:09

Hi ladies. I have a question. I'm on day 12 of injecting Gonal F and Cetritide. Has anyone else experienced incredibly sore boobs? They are more uncomfortable than they've ever been but I have no idea if that's normal.

Rovera12 · 22/07/2020 22:23

@KittyFoster I wish you had an idea of where I work , it’s an acute unit and demands a lot of strength.

@SpyroC you know!! I don’t want to use my annual leave for the 2week wait . I might ask my Gp to sign me of , atleast I can stop worrying about it .

@Glitterandunicorns I read a lot of people get sore boobs. I am on day 10 stims tonight and I have been asked to increase my dose to 187.50 from 150iu. I have been getting a lot like a lot of EWCM.

@gemmabissell congratulations 🥳.

LemonRabbit · 22/07/2020 23:11

@Glitterandunicorns
I had sore boobs when growing follicles! I don’t remember using a drug called cetritide but sometimes the names change based on the pharmaceutical company. I don’t remember it being horrendous but they were certainly more sensitive. I remember being very bloated too and being so self conscious at work of the fact I looked pregnant (but obviously wasn’t!).

@Lemongrass1
@UncleBrynsfishingtrip
The process is so hard, whichever cycle/transfer number you’re on. Best of luck moving forward.

Good luck to those testing tomorrow @RosettaR - steady hands needed!, @Bestofyou1982 and any others.
