Hi, we are starting a FET this month after a bit of back and forth with the clinic. Start downreg on Fri with ET hopefully first week of July. Wondering if anyone else cycling around the same time? X

@Glitterandunicorns hmm well my hands are tied , my husband had sperm retrieval last September which we used for the first circle. We still have about 8 vials left, I will ask tomorrow how sure they are about the frozen sperm.
Though he had all test carried out including dna fragmentation if I am correct and all came back good. Something to worry about now......

Janefx40 · 20/07/2020 05:53

@SpyroC I am older so had 3 put back first cycle and 2 just now. My second cycle was a single (where I got my daughter) but that was because there was no choice. Both clinics, NHS and private would have chosen 3 if they could.

Assume you are younger tho so less relevant. At my age (I was 40 when I started IVF) the chance of multiple births is low.

My partner was terrified we would have twins but I don't mind. It's so unlikely tho at my age!

X

Ash75454 · 20/07/2020 06:47

@Janefx40 wow 3! My clinic aren't even keen on putting 2 back anymore. Hope you're feeling OK and get some reassurance on the spotting today.

Lemongrass1 · 20/07/2020 08:02

BFN here, have been expecting it so not too disappointed today. Going to get my follow up sorted hopefully for a few days. After that super thick lining am gonna have the mother of all periods! 🤞 next cycle will give a better outcome. Good luck to everyone and congrats to all the new BFPs x

Hi @Lemongrass1 I'm so sorry to hear that. Be kind to yourself and best of luck for the next cycle.

Glitterandunicorns · 20/07/2020 08:11

@rovera12 please don't worry about that. I am no expert in all of this; I just read that somewhere (can't remember where now) so can't be sure that it's legit, or of the provenance. Hopefully your clinic will be able to shed some light on it for you.

BeHereNowx32 · 20/07/2020 08:38

@Lemongrass1 sorry for your news ❤️

Ash75454 · 20/07/2020 09:28

@Lemongrass1 very sorry to hear that. I hope you can have a quiet day and do something nice for you. Wishing you so much luck on the next round x

Bestofyou1982 · 20/07/2020 09:30

Looks like I've begun to miscarry again this morning. 5 weeks 4 days exactly same point as last time. Devastated is an understatement. Also had to cancel going into school to see half of my class today as in so much pain and woke up bleeding this morning. Not sure how many more times in can put myself through this physically and emotionally - feels so cruel.

Jorun · 20/07/2020 09:48

No been here as busy weekend travelling to Epsom for intralipids. Come back and am devastated to read the news.

@Bestofyou1982, you need to go to EPU, I hope and pray it's not a miscarriage. I had a massive bleed at 5w4d, but the bean was still there (I have lost it at 7 weeks, a day after I've seen a HB for the first time, but my point is the bleed doesn't mean it's all over)

@Lemongrass1, I'm so very sorry about your BFN! Please have a relaxing day and do something just for yourself Flowers

Rovera12 · 20/07/2020 09:58

@Lemongrass1 so sorry it a BFN, try to have some good rest.

@Bestofyou1982 oh dear! I pray it’s not something seriously and hope to get some positive news from you later today.

Janefx40 · 20/07/2020 11:19

@Bestofyou1982 I'm so sorry to hear your news. This is devastating. You are amazing to be fighting this battle. Yes it is massively unfair - there is no other way to put it. You deserve more and I really hope that things improve.

We are here to support you if you want but also understand totally if you want to disappear from the thread. Do whatever you need.

Sending you lots of love

Xxx

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 20/07/2020 11:22

Sending everyone soooo much love.

@Lemongrass1
@Bestofyou1982
Gosh what a morning for both of you.
I know how gutted you’ll be about not seeing your class too as a bit of ‘normality’ at this time is important. I didn’t get to say goodbye to my class either.

Phoned the clinic and they want me to do another test tomorrow. I had a BFN yesterday on the actual test day. Not sure why they want me to prolong the pain. Grrr.

Janefx40 · 20/07/2020 11:26

@Lemongrass1 I'm so sorry. I know you said you don't feel too disappointed but let yourself grieve too if you need to.

IVF/FET is bloody traumatic. Sometimes we are so focused on moving forwards that we don't realise quite how hard it all is and how horrendous. Yes it is also a privilege to get the treatment we need but that doesn't take away from how brutal it is.

Women going through IVF/FET are just the strongest, most amazing people. We are all amazing to be doing all of the things we do and we should feel proud of ourselves.

Ok will stop ranting and get down off my soap box now.

But I'm proud of all of you xxx

Thinking of you both @Lemongrass1 and @Bestofyou1982 - strength to get through what you need to and light the other side.

Bestofyou1982 · 20/07/2020 11:47

Thank you for the kind messages- they mean a lot. As we haven't told anyone apart form my work, as time needed for appointments and covid adjustments. It can make it a bit lonely when something goes wrong. Especially when this is 2nd time this year that positives and FET have ended with early MC. It really sucks.

@Lemongrass1 sending you hugs and hopes for tomorrow. xx

BeHereNowx32 · 20/07/2020 12:09

@Bestofyou1982 this is so sad. I’m so sorry. I don’t have any advice, but agree with @Janefx40 how strong you are to go through all of this xx

Jorun · 20/07/2020 13:10

Has anyone ever had a follicle trying to grow during medicated fet? Had a scan this morning, 9mm lining, but also a follie on the right ovary. Was told it might change the way I'm treated. Anyone had something like that happen??

Parkandride · 20/07/2020 14:09

I just lost a huge message but I'm so sorry @Lemongrass1 @UncleBrynsfishingtrip and @Bestofyou1982 this process can be so cruel, @Janefx40 is so right in how hard ivf can be

@Jorun afraid I've not had that before. How was intralipids going? Feel I need to learn about some of this stuff in case this transfer fails too

I'd forgotten about how FET drags on, just waiting. At least in stims there's the monitoring, grateful it's not the same symptoms though!

Glitterandunicorns · 20/07/2020 15:13

@bestofyou1982 I am so very sorry for your loss. I'm thinking of you. Thanks

Jorun · 20/07/2020 15:49

@Parkandride, I have my doubts about intralipids as there's zero evidence that it works. I'm going for them through gritted teeth, especially as it's a 8h round trip and £350 a pop. But my miscarriage consultant demands I have them or else he won't be prescribing anything else (pred+hydroxychloroquine+clexane). Don't mind if it works in the end..

SpyroC · 20/07/2020 17:50

How did you get on today @Rovera12 I briefly did some research and if this fails I plan to ask about a double trigger too. I asked the embryologist today about the day 4-5 drop off being egg or sperm and it isn't clear in my case. I think perhaps if they drop of drastically on day 3 it may be sperm related. The consultant last time seemed to think it was actually more likely my eggs but couldn't say for definite. Basically she said it's pretty much just the egg until day 3 and then after that it's the embryo itself so a combination ifyswim.

@Lemongrass1 I'm so sorry. Please take care of yourself xx

@Bestofyou1982 I'm so sorry. I can only imagine how hard that must be. I hope you are ok xx

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip my clinic get you to check 2 days later too. I also felt like it was prolonging the agony. They said today it's in case it is a slower embryo.

@Jorun I've never had fet but I know they sometimes use ovulation induction drugs to deliberately grow follicles in women that have lining issues so it may not be a bad thing.

Thank you all for you well wishes and advice. I now have 2 not quite blastocysts on board. I am 32 but my ovaries and eggs behave as though they are much older. I was a bit disappointed as last time we had the same plus one low grade blastocyst (which was transferred). I am now feeling positive though and am just happy to still be in with a chance.

Well said @Janefx40 ! Such a difficult process. We are definitely a strong bunch!

Rovera12 · 20/07/2020 19:42

@SpyroC hello, scan went well according to the DR, I had 2-12 and 1-10mm follicles growing the other 13 are less than 10 so it was not measured. I also had blood taken to check for TSH levels.

I asked about the double trigger today , I was told it’s not practiced in the trust aoemthing like that.

I also asked about the sperm quality on the egg after day 3 , he said it’s not really true bla bla bla.

Asked why I was remaining on 150iu of gonal F , I was told I responded well the last time . So they don’t see any reason to change the dose.
Fingers crossed for Wednesday.

Congratulations on being PUPO 👍

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 21/07/2020 06:48

Morning ☀️ I just did a further two tests (2 days after official test day) and both were negative.

We have looked into adoption but I’m also going to find out about another FET but I really don’t want to keep trying and failing (p.s I don’t feel a failure but not getting there if you know what I mean!) xx
