Hi, we are starting a FET this month after a bit of back and forth with the clinic. Start downreg on Fri with ET hopefully first week of July. Wondering if anyone else cycling around the same time? X

@granddesigns congratulations! Amazing news!

Can I ask a TMI question please? I've been injecting Gonal F since Saturday and added Cetrotide yesterday too. For the last few days, I seem to have had absolutely loads more CM than usual. I presume that's just the hormones, but is that normal?

Bestofyou1982 · 16/07/2020 14:19

Congratulations @beherenowx32 and @granddesigns.

And good luck @SpyroC.
I needn't have worried about chat with boss as she was amazing. So feeling much better about work now. Rightly or wrongly I decided to go in for the 2 goodbye days so can see my class before summer buy have lovely TA with me and lots of plans to be outdoors.
I'm 3 days off the point of last MC which is playing on my mind. But trying not to over think each twinge. How's everyone doing today?

Janefx40 · 16/07/2020 15:30

Hi all

@Bestofyou1982 so glad the chat with your boss went well. I think it'll be fine to go in - the main thing is that you feel comfortable with it.

@Glitterandunicorns I'm not on the same drugs but all these hormones definitely affect CM so I wouldn't worry.

@KittyFoster what a rollercoaster! I can't believe they did that to you! At least the final outcome is positive tho and you can go ahead. Sounds like a beach holiday is well deserved.

I'm struggling a bit at this point with the wait. Convinced I'm about to come on too. Plus I just realised my bloody clinic haven't given me enough Lubion to last until test day. I'm one bloody dose short - I can't find a chemist around here that can get hold of it so am going to have to traipse into central London (over an hour to the clinic) just to get one vial - although they won't sell me one so I have to buy 7!!! Grrrr

RosettaR · 16/07/2020 15:34

@KittyFoster so glad you are able to go ahead with the cycle! Sounds good to spend some time relaxing there before travelling home - with lockdown it's so long since I've been anywhere so that sounds very appealing!

@Glitterandunicorns I think that's normal. I had loads more than normal. I think it is because the follicles that are growing produce estrogen and the estrogen produces the CM. I took it as a sign that I was responding to the medication!

Congratulations @BeHereNowx32, @granddesigns and @Lemongrass1. Wonderful to see so many bfps!

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip sorry to hear you are having a stressful time. When is your OTD?

I've not been on here much because I've been finding things really tough. I spent a few days after the transfer feeling really unwell, my stomach felt really unsettled and I felt really weak. Luckily I'd planned to take some time off so spent most of it in bed or on the sofa. Then the past couple of days I've had diarrhea. My clinic say some people do seem to suffer exhaustion after the ET because of all the adrenaline building up to it. I still have no idea whether that was it or whether I had some kind of mild food poisoning - if so that would be horrendous luck happening the day after ET! It's made me feel really negative about my chances. If it fails I will feel like I've really messed it up. And as we only had the one embryo we will be back to square one. My OTD is still a week away so I just have to try to relax but it's so hard!

Janefx40 · 16/07/2020 15:50

@RosettaR sorry you've felt so rubbish. I don't think it will have been anything to worry about in terms of implantation. If anything the bed rest may have helped.

Could it have been mild OHSS or some other after effect of EC ? You had 19 eggs. I got 13 on my first IVF cycle and felt rubbish for quite a few days.

I wish I could know how your cycle will turn out but obviously I don't. But I very much doubt that it will have made the difference. Ultimately it is mostly down to the embryo. We just have to hope against hope that we've got little fighters in there who can make it!!

I am struggling too - easier to say it to someone else than apply it myself!

Glitterandunicorns · 16/07/2020 16:06

Hi @kittyfoster. Blimey, that sounds super stressful. I'm pleased it worked out in the end for you though. Relaxing somewhere hot after your transfer sounds like a great idea!

@bestofyou1982 I'm so pleased to hear your chat went well. I hope the next few days pass quickly without event for you.

@janetfx and @RosettaR thanks for the advice!

@janetfx That's a shame that you have to make such a long journey for your medication. Also seems rough that you have to buy seven doses when you only need one.

@RosettaR I'm sorry you're not feeling well. What your clinic said about adrenaline and exhaustion makes sense. Hopefully if you have had a tummy bug, it's over quickly. It sounds to me though that you've done nothing at all wrong, so be kind to yourself, however things go. I know that's easier said than done though.

LemonRabbit · 16/07/2020 16:30

@RosettaR
We’re all trying to do everything we can to maximise our chances because ivf is a long process where you have to be committed, but you haven’t mucked up anything. If it doesn’t work, there’s probably a flaw in the embryo, which you have no control over.

Rovera12 · 16/07/2020 22:12

Congratulations to all with the BFP. A lot of good vibes on here 🙏🙏🙏

Rovera12 · 16/07/2020 22:24

@RosettaR sorry you have had to go through all of this. I hope it turns out positive at the end of it all. 🙏 for you .

JessB7777 · 16/07/2020 23:02

Sending positive vibes to everyone.

I’m a bit confused, had 9 eggs collected and all fertilised. Went for freeze all as had bleeding during stims. Day 3 all were grade 1 or 2 but by day 5 just one 5cc embryo and a good day 3 one to freeze. I have PCOS with no issues for my husband so psychologically thought I’d get a few in the freezer. Now trying to work out the best next step, I wonder whether it’s better to just do another round of IVF rather than paying for FET for a bad quality embryo. But then I also wonder what may have gone wrong and how we could get better quality embryos next time

SpyroC · 16/07/2020 23:28

@Glitterandunicorns I had loads a few days in to stims this time too. I didn't have this last time. I panicked a bit but a quick google revealed its normal.

Urgh @Janefx40 what a pain! I think I'll check mine in the morning too. You would think they'd have that sussed.

I'm sorry you've had a tough few days @RosettaR I'm sure it won't have affected anything. But I know it's easy to say and not so easy to accept. We are our own worse critics sometimes. I agree with what the others have said it's mostly down to embryo and lining at this stage. Fingers crossed for you!

@JessB7777 my last cycle was similar. All was going swimmingly until the morning of day 5 when we were told the 3 we had left we're not good quality. I've spent mo the trying to improve my egg quality and I'll soon know if it's made a difference. It is still possible even with a lower quality embryo, it's still a blastocyst which means it still has a good chance.

My update today is that 5/6 fertilised so I'm very relieved about that. I'm going to try not to think about it whilst waiting for the next call on Sunday. I seem to have an issue with eggs not maturing fully but I'll cross that bridge if this fails.

Congratulations on all the amazing bfps! Xx

granddesigns · 17/07/2020 08:07

Thank you for all the lovely messages. It's still sinking in! Got booked in to the clinic for a scan at start of August and they are sending out more meds to hopefully get us to 12 weeks. Still taking a day at a time though. Now need to get on top of who is at what stage in this thread!

Glitterandunicorns · 17/07/2020 09:27

@jessb7777 I'm sorry you're disappointed. I seem to recall reading that if there are issues with your embryos/ blasts that if those issues arise after day 3 that it's down to the sperm not the egg. I am by no means the expert though, so hopefully your embryologist or consultant can tell you if that's the case.

In saying that, it only takes one. I hope you're able to find some answers.

Glitterandunicorns · 17/07/2020 09:28

@SpyroC that's brilliant that 5 fertilised! Best of luck for the call on Sunday.

Ash75454 · 17/07/2020 10:29

Happy Friday everyone.

Looks like a busy week for everyone.
Hope those also in the 2ww are not going to mad. Im def symptom spotting loads but trying to stay positive. I was going to home test Sunday morning (9dp5dt casue that timing worked for an answer last time I had FET) but my sister is visiting and staying Saturday night now so I'm tempted to do it tomorrow 8dp5dt. Have people gotten a definitive result at 8 days?

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 17/07/2020 10:34

@Ash75454
Nooooooo don’t test till test day!!!! I tested at 9dp5dt and got a negative. I regretted it as it ruined the day and made me think negatively. I’ve picked myself up again now and just enjoying the ☀️☀️☀️☀️Now I’m waiting till the proper day!!!!

Ash75454 · 17/07/2020 10:45

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip not sure im patient enough to wait until next wednesday! It feels like an age away!

Bestofyou1982 · 17/07/2020 18:35

So interesting occurrence today. Got to clinic to collect next medication batch. Mask on, someone came out to take temperature, as is norm now. 37.7. So I wasn't allowed into clinic. Had to wait outside for someone to bring meds. Was a bit worried as to what it meant, especially as have been so careful. Told they will postpone scan if temp still high when return in week but also that increased temp is common with early pregnancy so not to worry if no other symptoms. So will I just end up not being able to have a scan even if it's just a pregnancy/medication symptom? Has anyone else had temp issues after a positive test at any point?
Hope you are all ready for the weekend, I certainly am. :-) xxx

Hello Ladies , I’m in 2ww , really struggling today. I’m 7dp3dt. Emotions all over the place, I’ve had cramping all week and a bad headache for past 24 hours . Hmm cannot stop thinking is it a good sign I have these symptoms or a bad one that my period is coming!! HELP

Bestofyou1982 · 17/07/2020 19:30

@Claire071081 welcome to 2WW, where each day seems like a week ling. If any comfort I had a headache so bed I just had to go bed and sleep it off ( and I never get headaches). I went on to get a positive and fingers crossed things still seem to be going in right direction.
Hope you are feeling better soon x

Claire071081 · 17/07/2020 19:34

Thank you so much, congratulations on your BFP Smile how many weeks are you? Did you have any other symptoms? X

Janefx40 · 17/07/2020 19:50

Hi @Claire071081 and welcome. I'm also in the 2WW. Official test day is Sunday. When is yours?

I'm also going nuts. No real symptoms - feel a bit bloated but then I am on a whacking great dose of progesterone so not surprising.

I have an 18 month old daughter through IVF. When I was in the 2WW with her I had a terrible headache about 3-4 days before my test day. I always get menstrual migraines at that point before my period so I was certain I was out but I was pregnant.

This 2WW has definitely felt more like my failed cycle than my successful one but am trying (and failing) not to read anything into it!!

Good luck

Xxx

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 17/07/2020 20:02

@Janefx40
Are you testing this Sunday? My test day is that day too. I’m really unsure whether this has worked for us but I’m trying to be hopeful till the test tells us.
I hope you enjoy precious times with your little girl this weekend and can settle a bit before testing

Hope everyone else is doing ok? xx

Bestofyou1982 · 17/07/2020 20:34

It looks like a few testers over the weekend. Everything crossed ladies. xx

Ash75454 · 17/07/2020 20:58

@Janefx40 same here, the symptoms I have are def reminding me of my failed cycle but I'm trying to remain positive until testing. I'll have my fingers crossed for you on Sunday.
