This TWW is hideous!!!!
I’m nearly there and I’m going to do an early test on Thursday.

Bestofyou1982 · 14/07/2020 12:48

@Rovera12 sounds like you need to be kind to yourself today. IVF can be draining and as you say as loving and wonderful and our partners may be, if you aren't physically going through it you don't get it in same way. Rant away as needed we are all here for each other. Is there something you can do for a bit of time today that you enjoy maybe call to a friend, walk, cake and cuppa, watch a film. Sounds like you need some you time. xx

@jorun may last cycle and current one were both frozen. Never had fresh as ended up with OHSS in lead up to EC.

@RosettaR hope you are feeling better today. Good news that clinic doesn't think being unwell will impact cycle.

I'm bit nervous about chat with head this afternoon about being in school next week for end of year transition/goodbye days. Although told to shield I really want to be in for my kids but only if can feel safe. Will see what she says. Feel bit anxious about early miscarriage as only few days off where we got to last time. No signs of it all ending yet, fingers crossed it stays that way. Luckily busy working from home so not too much time to think about it.

SpyroC · 14/07/2020 12:50

Thanks for the well wishes for tomorrow x

@Rovera12 I felt similar leading up to my dr scan. Once I started on stims my mood improved and I had more energy. I didn't notice it as much during my first cycle but that may be due to me currently working from home so I'm not as distracted by work. Hopefully the gonal f will help you to feel better too.

All the tww talk is interesting. If I am lucky enough to get there I think I will plan to be out and about(away from people) as much as possible. It was so hard to stay sane last time!

granddesigns · 14/07/2020 13:18

Still checking in and trying to keep up to date on each journey that is part of this thread. Our testing day is Thursday - holding out officially but very tempted to test but also afraid of bursting the bubble! Dipping in and out of this thread so I don't overload on symptom spotting or drive myself to testing!

Janefx40 · 14/07/2020 13:33

Hello all!

@Jorun yes I am doing FET - I did natural cycle tho so slightly different to others. I am now in the 2WW

@Bestofyou1982 good luck with the chat. Are you going to tell her about the pregnancy? Maybe just decide in advance what you are comfortable with - is there any level of contact you would consider or do you just want to stay away (with regret etc). It may be easier if you are clear in your own head what you are asking for.

@Rovera12 sorry things have been confusing. Stims should make you feel better. I got quite high during stims and slightly confused everyone in my office with my boisterous enthusiasm for everything - had to reign it in!

My clinic do test my progesterone (my clinic tend to overdo everything tho so I don't think that is normal) but they said to me yesterday that they are looking for levels to be over a certain number during the 2WW. If you are going private you may want to double check when the best time is to measure it and also check that your clinic will prescribe you more progesterone if you feel it is too low. I would imagine if you are doing it just once, it might want to be after transfer not before x

Janefx40 · 14/07/2020 13:35

Just to clarify I am doing FET but have done 2 lots of stims in the past.

@granddesigns glad to hear from you. Was thinking your test date must be fast approaching! Glad you are keeping the madness at bay.

Jorun · 14/07/2020 13:55

@BeHereNowx32, I have no idea when my transfer is at the moment. I'm on day 7 of my short protocol. My clinic only scans us once, we get no baseline scan or bloods. My first scan is on the 20th, and after that I reckon transfer in 6-7 days, so most likely 27th. Last time my lining was 14mm at transfer so this time I'm trying half the normal dose of oestrogen (on my own accord, my clinic didn't want to reduced my oestrogen because "it's our protocol". Isn't it supposed to be an individualized treatment?).

@Bestofyou1982, ouch! there's some evidence that outcomes are better with frozen anyway.

@@Rovera12, I feel like I know what you mean! I've been feeling quite flat and down in the dumps after starting hydroxychloroquine for my immunes. I've also noticed that I've lost all will to even cook..I'm just so tired after work all the time, just want to slob on the sofa and watch tv. My hubs then pesters me to go for a walk..and I totally get what you say about him not quite understanding what you're going through. My hubs is the best but I do feel he lacks empathy sometimes.

Janefx40 · 14/07/2020 14:29

Hi @Jorun 14mm is a good lining I thought. How come you are reducing your oestrogen?

I think very few clinics do genuinely individualised treatments really. Even my clinic that is super intense still like to follow the general same pattern with most people.

X

Rovera12 · 14/07/2020 14:30

Thank you all for the encouragement, I am glad to be a part this forum.

@Bestofyou1982 well all I do is work work work since the lockdown. I work in a very busy clinic that involves moving and pulling a lot. Immediately after my scan today, I had to go straight to work. My shift today is 12pm - 12am. On my day off I just chill or go shopping.

@Janefx40 unfortunately I am Nhs Fundes, I am part of a forum(healthunlocked) where most members have said their progesterone was checked a day before or same day of ET which has made a difference. I will be checking aswell and I don’t mind having to check before and after transfer. Also a lot of people have said progesterone in oil is better than pesearies.

@Jorun I might have to up my progesterone on my own , if the result comes back low. I have also consulted with a private doctor to be sure I am doing everything right.

My next scan is Monday I am going to ask about embryo glue and embryoscopic monitoring(not sure of spelling) .

Zillenial · 14/07/2020 16:07

Hey hope you don’t mind me joining this thread. I am just stimming for my first FET
13 days on progynova and my lining is only at 6mm
Nurse said that they want it closer to 11.. they will be calling me to tell me whether to up my dosage or not.
I am OBVIOUSLY panicking at this. I’ve never had any issues with my lining before, all other monitoring scans told me that lining was perfect.

Bit worried tbh xxx

Jorun · 14/07/2020 16:10

@Janefx40, 14 mm is not ideal, it's a bit too thick. Ideal is 9-13mm. Also, if I remember correctly (it has been quite a few months since) the last scan was done a few days before transfer so chances are it may have been even thicker. I had so much bleeding during that pregnancy, and have a suspicion it might be due to thick lining. I just don't think 12 mg oestrodiol is necessary in my case. I also feel I have enough clinical knowledge to adjust it myself. I'm following a half dose protocol, which also commonly used in clinical trials. If by some miracle my lining is thin on my first scan the dose can be titrated up.

@Rovera12, progesterone in oil inj are better than pessaries, but unfortunately painful. I'm going to be on 800mg of bum bullets (cyclogest) and alternate day lubion injections for a "boost". Are you checking your progesterone levels prior/post transfer privately?

Rovera12 · 14/07/2020 16:16

@Jorun yes I am going to have it checked privately.

Rovera12 · 14/07/2020 16:17

@Zillenial welcome to the group . 👍

Janefx40 · 14/07/2020 17:18

@Jorun that's interesting. I've spent too much time worrying about lining being thick enough so I never realised it could be too thick!!

@Rovera12 agree with @Jorun that prog in oil is super painful. I requested Lubion instead. Taking it three times a day x

BeHereNowx32 · 14/07/2020 18:31

@Zillenial hi
My clinic likes lining to be 7mm and above. I had a successful cycle at 8.6mm. 11mm sounds very thick. I did drink pomegranate juice and raspberry leaf tea to try help thicken lining. Although not sure how much it helps... hope you find something that helps

SpyroC · 14/07/2020 20:33

Welcome @Zillenial

@Rovera12 we gave just been discussing whether or not to bother with embryo glue. The evidence is really mixed. I think we're just gonna go for it as, in comparison to what we've already spent, it's a drop in the ocean really. My clinic don't seem to fussed about it. We figured if it can't hurt why not.

Ash75454 · 14/07/2020 22:28

@Zillenial hi and welcome. I take L arginine 2000mg daily which is meant to help with lining and also a vitamin E.

@Lemongrass1 I can't believe you're such an early tester, you'll be a bad influence on me as my transfer date buddy. Im sure I read somewhere that the HCG on starts from 5 days after FET but could be making that up. Im planning to hold out until Sunday

My clinic transfer above 7mm too but I see a complimentary practitioner for lifestyle, supplement advise and acupincture and she says 8-11 most ideal.

And no progesterone checks for me just whacked onto the crinone gel like everyone else in my clinic I'd say.

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 15/07/2020 06:22

Sooooo I tested early this morning. 9dpt. Negative. I’m holding out hope for the weekend though when the clinic have asked us to test xx

BeHereNowx32 · 15/07/2020 06:45

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip sorry 😞 there is still time. My hospital don’t recommend blood test before 9dpt. Take care x

Janefx40 · 15/07/2020 07:47

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip I'm sorry. Hopefully there is still time for a positive nearer to your test date. Hope you are ok xxx

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 15/07/2020 07:57

I feel really quite calm and it is nice just knowing even though not the 😁😁 news I was hoping for.

I know I shouldn’t test early but we’re seeing all family and I just needed to know. I still have lots of hope for the weekend and if not I’ll deal with the feelings then. Thanks ladies xxxxx

Zillenial · 15/07/2020 08:20

Thank you ladies I will take note of your tips!

Parkandride · 15/07/2020 11:01

Had to duck out while period was awol as got very upset with IVF when my clinic sent a storage charge letter as:

  1. I'm NHS so no charge due until 3 years or a live birth
  2. They've been bloody shut for months because of covid and feels like money grabbing is the first bit to reopen at pace!
  3. Actual reason for my feeings i'm sure, I want said stored embryo in me but because of stupid period not turning up I didn't know when that would be. And also a lovely reminder that it's been a year of ivf and I've nothing to show for it Sad

Anyway sure I'm being irrational but it tipped me over the edge. I tried to, nicely, tell them the letter wording was really unhelpful but they didn't give a damn Hmm

Period finally arrived today, just a smudge so far so not sure if I should wait until full flow tomorrow to start, will give them a call later.

Just going to get caught up, I see some congratulations are in order, and some early testing has been going on!

Zillenial · 15/07/2020 11:31

@Parkandride
That sounds really frustrating bless you. I found my clinic similar, they charged me £250 for my FET even though I was two days away from a fresh transfer, had it not been for COVID :(
I think clinics are prioritising the wrong thing to be honest. Advertising no waiting times but telling us that certain patients get priority etc.
You aren't alone!

BeHereNowx32 · 15/07/2020 12:52

Hi everyone.
I got my positive. In total shock xx
