Hi, we are starting a FET this month after a bit of back and forth with the clinic. Start downreg on Fri with ET hopefully first week of July. Wondering if anyone else cycling around the same time? X

@BeHereNowx32 I have no symptoms and that makes me nervous too! I hope the wait gets easier with time as the last 2.5 days have been really hard 😭

@Ash75454
I can totally understand why you are so frustrated at DH. Hopefully it will be a weird 24h virus thing and he can get straight back to helping out with your child and puppy!

@RosettaR
I’m so pleased for you! What a relief! Congrats on your new PUPO status!

@BeHereNowx32
I had cramps and lower belly gurgles exactly like normally when I have my period. I felt like I knew it had failed. But it hadn’t failed at all! Hang in there. I think my body was so used to having periods it was too shocked not to try!

I got a positive result on my blood test with hcg level 120 on Friday. Does anyone know anything about these levels? Also I’m now waiting for 7 week scan. Back to waiting!! I’ve swapped 2ww worries for a whole new set of 3ww fears! But I can’t be permanently anxious for 9 months (if I should be so lucky to get that fat)
If this had not been ivf, I imagine I’d feel elated. Instead I feel like I’m thinking of worst case scenarios. Any advice?

LemonRabbit · 12/07/2020 13:26

“fat” should be “far”, but I suppose it makes sense either way Grin

LemonRabbit · 12/07/2020 13:48

@Lemongrass1
I had no symptoms either apart from a few that honestly I think were medication symptoms - headache, tired, thirsty.
I was obsessed with symptom spotting and read all this stuff about how your boobs feel really heavy and you have spotting if you’re pregnant. I had none of that! Apparently only 20% of preg have any implantation bleeding and yet it is regularly given as a symptom.

Lemongrass1 · 12/07/2020 14:11

@LemonRabbit congrats on the BFP!!! The hcg levels depend on how many dpt you are and even then there’s a really wide range. A single result only confirms that you are pregnant. Sometimes they do a second test at a 48 hour interval to check it’s doubling but the main thing for checking viability is the scan. X

@Ash75454 sorry I missed you! Hope you are doing ok on the 2WW and you’re not too rushed off your feet with your OH being ill ☹️

Congrats @LemonRabbit ❤️ I don’t know much about hcg levels. I wish I knew from when I was pregnant, but never asked (my DH phones). I’m sure the hospital would retest if worried. It’s wonderful news.

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 12/07/2020 14:22

Hey everyone...

Today is a new day! I feel sooooo much better! Hope it is sunny where you are? We’ve just had a lovely summery stroll.

Today in 6dpt5dt. I’m thinking of doing an early test. Do you think hcg will be detected at 9dp5dt? I don’t want to test today as I feel happy and calm so a few more days will be ok.

Heart4 · 12/07/2020 14:30

@LemonRabbit congratulations on your positive result!

@RosettaR congratulations on your transfer!

Xx

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip glad you’re feeling brighter. My blood test is 9dp5dt... so, I think it could be possible. But don’t worry if it’s comes up negative. It’s still early. My hospital don’t recommend doing a blood test before then, but I definitely would if my DH wasn’t so against it 😂

LemonRabbit · 12/07/2020 14:46

Thanks everyone!
@Lemongrass1
Thanks for that chart. Hopefully hcg will start doubling. I think they’d only retest if I was having problems.

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip
9dp5dt is 14days so I think that should pick up on ERPT, but it’s at such an early stage you could get a negative when blood test then comes back positive.
Is your blood test also on9dp5dt or is it later?
I held off testing for as long as I could, but eventually decided that I was going more stuff crazy thinking about not testing!

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 12/07/2020 15:16

I don’t have a blood test. But the clinic have given me pregnancy test to do on 12dpt5dt xx

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 12/07/2020 15:17

Thanks for the hcg info. Xxxx

Ash75454 · 12/07/2020 15:50

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip I find it crazy that not all clinics test. I did an early home pt on my successful ivf at 9dp5dt and got my positive, was very very faint though so test again a day or so later. So def don't take it as final result if you test that early.

SpyroC · 12/07/2020 18:27

@RosettaR I'm glad it all went well for you! It does seem each stage is more tense than the next. I'm dreading the embryologist calls as that was the worst bit last time.

My clinic don't test hcg either. I wish they did!

Glitterandunicorns · 12/07/2020 19:50

@lemonrabbit Congratulations! That's wonderful news.

I can relate to what you said about anxiety. I am lucky enough to have a son. Very early in my pregnancy (after a couple of years of TTC), I had bleeding and thought we'd lost him. Luckily, we hadn't. After that, there were many other worries throughout the pregnancy which meant I spent most of the first seven months of my pregnancy feeling incredibly anxious about absolutely everything (if I'm being honest, I should have sought help as I was a bit mentally unwell with the anxiety levels).

One thing I found that really helped me a lot was hypnobirthing. I made time each day to listen to the CD and it really helped me with coping techniques and relaxation.

When it came to giving birth, it all went out of the window of course (but that's a different story!), but I'd def use hypnobirthing again if I was lucky enough to have another child.

I hope you're able to find something that works for you.

RosettaR · 12/07/2020 19:52

@LemonRabbit congratulations on the positive test, that's fantastic!

My clinic doesn't do blood tests either as far as I'm aware, they've given me two hpts, and my otd is Thursday 23rd. I will try to wait until then to test, I don't need the adrenaline of testing early. I may change my story though!

I've had such conflicting advice about these two weeks, I've been told by my acupuncturist to lie down as much as possible for two or three days. But I know the clinics just tell you you get back to normal. It all feels like a huge responsibility given this embryo is "top grade" so may be my best chance of having a child! I feel like I'm questioning everything!

Janefx40 · 12/07/2020 19:55

Wow so much chat to catch up on.

@RosettaR so pleased for you! Hope you are relaxing post transfer!!

@LemonRabbit I have to admit that I found the early weeks of pregnancy post IVF quite tricky. My anxiety levels were through the roof. I got gradually better with each scan. Even though you have what you were hoping for, it is very hard because you are so worried about losing it again. I think you just have to do whatever you can to pass the time.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Xxx

@Glitterandunicorns
Thanks for your reply. I’ll look in to that. Smile

Glitterandunicorns · 12/07/2020 22:49

Hi @lemonrabbit I just had a look and the one I used was by Maggie Howell. HTH!

RosettaR · 13/07/2020 10:34

Argh I've had a really upset stomach in the night and it's still unsettled, feeling shaky. I wish my body could gove me a break! I'm terrified this will impact our chances.

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 13/07/2020 10:41

My meds give me a very unsettled stomach last week. My husband is in the medical world and he said it definitely won’t affect anything. Hard not to worry though isn’t it!!! Rest up today xxxx

Heart4 · 13/07/2020 10:55

I had Diarrhea for 2 weeks after egg retrieval last time. Mine was from the antibiotics they give. I found probiotics helped.

Feel better soon c

LemonRabbit · 13/07/2020 11:08

@Janefx40
Thanks. I hope with all my heart I make it through the next hurdle (7week scan).

@Glitterandunicorns
Thanks! I read some stuff about hypobirthing/medication last night. I’m willing to try anything. All this worry can’t be good.

@RosettaR
Eat well, sleep well, take your medication. I found I became very forgetful hence my blip with the meds. Make sure you have a full proof system! I’m still not sure whether I overmedicated or undermedicated...I probably would have blamed my mistake if it hadn’t worked though.

There is conflicting advice about rest in the first few days after ET. Some recommend total bed rest; others recommend you move around. No one recommends strenuous exercise!
I did a lot of lying down watching films, but I get a sore back if I lie down for too long, so I did some tidying (no heavy lifting!), baking etc and went out for a 30minute stroll. I found being outside really beneficial.
A nurse at my clinic said you shouldn’t do anything in the first few days where you have a sudden, rapid increase in heart rate.
I also read no hot baths and no hot showers. I think warm is ok though!

Thanks for all your messages on here. It has really helped me to hear from people who have gone though/are going through the same troubles. Smile
