Hi, we are starting a FET this month after a bit of back and forth with the clinic. Start downreg on Fri with ET hopefully first week of July. Wondering if anyone else cycling around the same time? X

Scan booked for 30th July. Seems like such a long way away. Weird to almost have another 2WW but this tine it’s longer!!
Hope everyone is doing well today. So much luck to everyone!

Some bad news for me this morning, of my 19 eggs collected yesterday, 14 were mature but only 2 have successfully fertilised by ICSI. They say it could be either an egg or a sperm factor, there is no way to know which. So I think that's us pretty much out, although I'll carry on with the progesterone just in case. Devastated.

BeHereNowx32 · 08/07/2020 11:22

@RosettaR sorry that you’ve had disappointing news. Hopefully those embryos can make it to a day 3 transfer. Sending you lots of luck and love 🤞

GG82 · 08/07/2020 11:59

Hi I had same problem last time. Very low fertility rate via ICSI but with this cycle Dr suggest use AOA to improve fertilized rated and it works. 8 eggs collection 4 survive to day 5. 1 transfer 3 frozen. Where last time 8 was collected only 2 fertilized.

GG82 · 08/07/2020 12:08

Hi Everyone, may I join? Well I had day 5 embryo transfer on 29th June. I have clearblue pregnancy test 6 days after transfer shows pregnant 1-2 w but when I test again this morning 9 days after fresh transfer it shows not pregnant. I am very confuse and sad now. Clinic suggest test pregnancy on 11th July. Anybody had same experience before?

Parkandride · 08/07/2020 15:45

Oh @RosettaR I was hoping you'd have some lovely news today, that's very disappointing. I know it's said all the time but it only takes one, so I hope that's true for you x

@GG82 welcome! Did you use the same type of test? And test first thing? It's still so early but it must be worrying, can your clinic do the blood tests to give you a better idea of whats going on? Fingers crossed for you.

@Bestofyou1982 huge congratulations!

Welcome @BaileyBadger4 and @kiza sedation is the best bit of ivf by far!

Still no period! Getting on for a week now, not on any meds as waiting to start FET so it's mother nature being weird! Any sign for you @KittyFoster

Hi I called the clinic, they won't provide HCG blood test and 11th is the test day that originally set for me. Obviously I done it earlier. I injected 10,000 HCG on 22nd as trigger injection. Did my first pregnancy test on 5th July (positive) 6 days after transfer. Not sure if that gives false result:( But HCG should disappear after 10 days. Worrying if it is a early miscarriage Sad
Bestofyou1982 · 08/07/2020 16:02

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip - congrtaulations on being PUPO. Hope the wait passes quickly.
Thank all for the messages of support. Work are great. It's taken so long to get here I am going to be cautious but find a way to be in for goodbye days with children iso maybe in hall or outside for easier distancing and have requested a TA so don't have to do any extra close contact for first aid, shoe laces etc...
The guidance says for pregnant women to be diligent with social distancing and reduce contact with people outside of household. Don't think any harm in being extra cautious, especially when read an article in New Scientist that said other similar viruses like chickenpox and SARS and others can cause brain and eye deformities if caught in early pregnancy. And “Right now, the important thing is that pregnant women do whatever they can to avoid getting covid-19,”
It's a few months I'd rather be safe than regret it later. I can meet people outdoors social distant without feeling like I'm missing out or isolated, but don't need to take extra risks unnecessarily.

@Kiza sedation has been my favourite part of IVF so far I think. So calm and relaxing and a real chance to stop and take stock.

Bestofyou1982 · 08/07/2020 16:10

@RosettaR have just seen your post. Fingers crossed for the 2 still going strong. xx

@GG82 sounds confusing indeed. Did you test before transfer after shot to see if could get a false positive with meds? Fingers crossed for the 11th. IVF is such a rollercoaster.

@Parkandride how frustrating when you don't want a period they appear and when you do elusive. Come on aunt flo, she is waiting get a move on!! @KittyFoster are you still waiting too?

How's everyone else doing today?
Anyone found any good ways to be kind to themselves?

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 08/07/2020 16:43

@ RosettaR We are all sending strong, positive thoughts your way.

@GG82 in two more days you can do the test again and you’ll know then what is happening. I’m going to try only to test on the day they’ve told me too. In fact I might ask my husband to hide the test and thankfully I’ve got no others in the house! I just can’t imagine how you must be feeling. Sending you love 💓

@BaileyBadger4 Welcome to this lovely group.
Did you phone the clinic today? How did you get on?

KittyFoster · 08/07/2020 16:55

@Parkandride and @Bestofyou1982 still waiting here as well!! I have all the symptoms, so I don’t know how many times I go to the bathroom to check! @parkandride, have you downregulated already?

@RosettaR I’m sorry about your disappointing news. Can they give you any further explanations? Hoping that the remaining two can be good enough to be transferred xxxx

How are you all feeling? I’m not sure if it’s the heat or the effect of the down regulation, but I’m really struggling to concentrate. I managed to burn the Shepard’s pie twice today...first while I was making the sauce on the hob, then forgot it in the oven!

RosettaR · 08/07/2020 16:59

Thanks for the support everyone. I've been finding today difficult. The clinic did call around midday to say that another has fertilised, so we now have three, so that's given a bit of hope that things can work out better than they look.

Thanks for the tip @GG82, that might be worth investigating, although Google hasn't thrown up many clinics that offer it. Did you look for one especially? Sorry to hear you're in limbo with conflicting tests. I would think the best thing is to wait a couple of days and test again, and try to stay sane in the meantime. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome!

@Bestofyou1982 that article sounds a bit terrifying! I guess few or no babies have been born yet whose mothers had it early on, but plenty will have been checked via scan so it is to an extent reassuring they've not found any evidence of that so far. Not sure if issues like that would show up on a scan ... I'm lucky in that me and DH can both work from home so we'd be able to decide how cautious to be. I'm sure it still wouldn't be easy.

Tarsette · 08/07/2020 17:13

@Bestofyou1982 congrats!!! That’s amazing news. Yes, I would play it safe. In the grand scheme of things, staying away from work and people for a few weeks or months won’t really make much of a difference but it will keep you safe.

@RosettaR please don’t despair! You now have 3 fertilised eggs and all it takes is one. When I got pregnant with my daughter, I had 26 eggs that turned into only 4 fertilised and still alive on day 3 so my clinic chose to do a day 3 transfer. I was devastated but then got pregnant with my lovely little girl from that transfer. It really did only take one...hope you get good news tomorrow!

GG82 · 08/07/2020 17:22

@RosettaR I totally have same feeling like you before. My first IVF 0 fertilized rate. Second ICSI, 8 collected 6 mature 2 fertilized with no transfer as my lining is not thick enough and I always have lining problems. Third ICSI -Artificial Oocyte Activation ‘AOA’ private clinic gave me better result 8 collected 8 mature 4 fertilized. 2 are top quality at day 5. 2 grow until day 6 confirm they are also good to be frozen. It's worth ask your doctor about AOA and it is not expensive (less than 200 pounds). I would hope I know it before when I was on second round. Good Luck

BaileyBadger4 · 08/07/2020 17:46

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip yes I called the clinic today and my protocol is on it's way to me! 😁 xx

LemonRabbit · 08/07/2020 18:14

@RosettaR
Everyone else has already said...but it does only take one to work.

@Bestofyou1982
It’s a really tough one with your work situation. Glad your work are being supportive. Smile

Oh my gosh yes, and staring at the tissue after wiping - it's just so glamourous!

No downreg on my protocol, thankful it's not too long after all this waiting

Janefx40 · 08/07/2020 19:47

Wow a lot has happened on this thread today

@RosettaR I'm so sorry. That is so frustrating and disappointing but as the others have said, you're not out yet. My daughter came from a disastrous cycle. We have to put all of our good thoughts into those 3 remaining embryos. I know it is hard tho.

@BaileyBadger4 welcome and good luck with getting started

@GG82 I'm sorry you've had confusing results. There's nothing to do but wait but it is agonising I know. Sending love.

@thefishthatcouldwish good luck for Friday

@Bestofyou1982 I am being nice to myself by buying lots of food in Pret. One of the few consolations of having to travel into central London every day is that I pass Pret - I've missed Pret plus I couldn't afford to go once I got back from mat leave anyway. So I've been spending a fortune on breakfast, coffee and sandwiches. Will have to reign it in tho now!!! We budgeted for IVF but not a Pret A Manger habit!

Janefx40 · 08/07/2020 19:48

Oh and transfer is tomorrow unless something is drastically wrong when I go in for bloods. Started cyclogest tonight.

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 08/07/2020 20:21

@Janefx40
Sending you lots of good vibes for tomorrow! Hope you’ve saved a few Pret treats stacked up ready for when you get home after transfer.

BeHereNowx32 · 08/07/2020 20:44

@RosettaR I have my fingers crossed that your 3 embies are good strong ones. Hope you get good news with the next update xx
