Hi, we are starting a FET this month after a bit of back and forth with the clinic. Start downreg on Fri with ET hopefully first week of July. Wondering if anyone else cycling around the same time? X

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip I hope that’s a good sign for you 🤞 (sounds like it could be!).
I’m feeling a little heavy and achey in my stomach. But it could be the progesterone (or my imagination!). Yeah, also carrying on as normal. But it is constantly on my mind 🙈
Good plan to meet up with people!

Janefx40 · 07/07/2020 13:15

@BuffyFanForever congrats on the positive test!!!

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip clinics vary re pregnancy test. My current clinic give you a blood test. Depending on the levels they will re test after a couple of days or leave it and see you for a 7 weeks scan. My previous clinic just give you a home test and tell you to call in with the result. If it's positive they then give you a scan at 7 weeks.

RosettaR · 07/07/2020 13:16

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip @BeHereNowx32 @Janefx40 @Tarsette thanks for the reassurance, that line about worry not stopping it working really helped. I found it also helped to try to convince myself I'm feeling excited rather than anxious, the two emotions are similar and I think it's a bit of both really.

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip and @BeHereNowx32 congratulations on being PUPO!

@BuffyFanForever congratulations, that's amazing news!

Good luck with the baseline scan @Rovera12.

@thefishthatcouldwish it sounds like it's all happening quickly for you, that's great! Good luck. As others have said don't worry too much about your weight, it's not a cliff edge or anything and the difference between being slightly above or below the line will be minimal.

@SnarkWeek sorry you're going to be delayed in getting a transfer. That's great that all the follicles look good though. I hear frozen transfers have a better success rate than fresh now so in the long run it will be worth it.

So my EC was fine, I wasn't aware of the procedure at all and they got 19 eggs. Slight surprise in that my husband's sperm wasn't very good so they recommended ICSI. When we had our fertility tests he absolutely aced it so I don't know what went wrong. I don't know much about ICSI and I'm trying to resist the temptation to Google success rates!

Janefx40 · 07/07/2020 13:18

@Parkandride how late is your period now? IVF always messes with my cycles...it'll turn up!

Apparently Thursday is my likely transfer date not tomorrow. They're tracking my natural cycle so I have to keep going into central london for early morning blood tests. Getting a bit knackered. Hopefully just 2 more days x

Janefx40 · 07/07/2020 13:22

@RosettaR wow good work! 19 eggs is great. We had to have ICSI and it worked a treat. Just means extra ££££

I wouldn't do too much research if I were you. There are always studies that scare the bejeezus out of us for pretty much everything. With IVF there is such a thing as too much knowledge I think!!

Rest up and don't eat pizza!!!

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 07/07/2020 13:34

@Parkandride the nurse told me yesterday not to expect and bleeding or period as the medication will/could stop bleeding.
I’m not sure which stage you are at but she said after transfer they may well be no period/bleed at all.

KittyFoster · 07/07/2020 13:52

Hello ladies, I hope you are all well!

I have been quiet for a few days as I do not have much energy but so much has happened here!! Welcome to the newcomers!

Congratulations @BuffyFanForever!! That is wonderful news!! How are you feeling?

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip and @BeHereNowx32 congratulations on being PUPO!! I cannot imagine what it must feel like!

@Janefx40 and @Ash75454 good luck for the transfer! Very close now!!

@RosettaR 19 eggs is super great! iCSI i fine- our clinic (and many others) use it as standard procedure so don’t worry too much about it.

@Parkandride I’m also eagerly waiting for my period to arrive so I can start my FET... I have been expecting it since Sunday-so frustrating! It’s all I can think of today and I cannot concentrate on anything else.

BuffyFanForever · 07/07/2020 13:52

Thank you everyone. Not sure if it helps the symptoms spotters or not but about 5dp5dt I started to feel abit weird. Couldn’t put my finger on it. Few days later super tired and day before my test heavy feeling in my tummy! Of course convinced myself these were in my head but first time ever they weren’t! 😊

Glitterandunicorns · 07/07/2020 13:58

@BuffyFanForever congratulations! That's brilliant news! Best of luck for a happy and healthy pregnancy.

BeHereNowx32 · 07/07/2020 14:10

@RosettaR fab news on all those eggs! Good luck for the next few days. We also had ICSI, which was successful ☺️ So, don’t worry about that part.

@BuffyFanForever thanks for that. I keep trying to think back to my last cycle, and I know it’s way too early to feel anything just yet. You will have your scan to look forward to now.

@Janefx40 Thursday is so close. It must be tough getting all the scans etc. I hope it does happen then

Thank you to everyone else for the well wishes x

thefishthatcouldwish · 07/07/2020 17:07

@RosettaR Wow 19 eggs! All best for next few days.

Yes all started fast for me. Medication starting Friday before consent signing.

Trying to not stress.

Kiza · 07/07/2020 18:06

Hi Ladies,
I'm still lurking in the background and learning so much from you all- it's a while new journey from TTC to transitioning to IVF slang 😆
Congrats to those of you who have had ET and are waiting for your outcomes.

Out of curiosity are you not fully under with general anaesthetic with EC? I thought you were fully under?

BeHereNowx32 · 07/07/2020 18:42

@Kiza I had sedation. So, I was completely asleep during EC. I wasn’t aware of anything, but woke up when they wheeled me back through afterwards. It was actually very relaxing. Hope all goes ok

Kiza · 07/07/2020 19:25

@BeHereNowx32 ahh ok, I've only every had general rather than sedation. Good to hear it was a positive experience for you

Bestofyou1982 · 07/07/2020 19:31

Hi ladies, so many people progressing now. So good to see. I have my fingers crossed for you all.

I've tried to keep up with all the updates, there have been lots of posts on here. :-)
Welcome to all of those who have just joined.
I was impatient and tested early and was shocked to see a positive. Didn't really believe it so tested again 2 days later and def. Positive. :-) so chuffed to be over another hurdle but last time this feeling only lasted a few more weeks or so before MC.
I was hoping for advice. The guidance says reduce contact with those outside of household and diligent social distancing and hygiene. Clinic had advised to shield couple of weeks up to treatment as positive covid test would result in cancellation/postponement.
Now I am PUPO not sure what to do? Should I work from home or go back into school and be in class with children? They cant distance and not all staff do either.
Feel anxious about going in and something happening as taken a long time to get to this point, but do I look ridiculous if request to stay working from home and miss end of year with my class. I am also assistant head teacher and lots of decisions to make for school about September. Part of me wishes could just afford to leave work, even though I love my school and work. 39soon and just want to start a family.
Just not sure what is best to do. Hols don't start until 24ty July.
Sorry to waffle.

BeHereNowx32 · 07/07/2020 19:38

@Bestofyou1982 aw, that such good news. How many days post transfer are you?
When I fell pregnant, I got signed off for a few weeks. I worked with children (and this was before Covid). I just felt like I didn’t want to chance anything. If it were me, I would stay off/ work from home if you are worried.but do whatever makes you feel less stressed out.
All the best!!

Janefx40 · 07/07/2020 19:44

@Bestofyou1982 that is great news! I'm so pleased for you. I think you have to do whatever feels right to you. Don't worry about looking ridiculous because there are more important things than that (and probably no one will think that anyway).

Good luck with your decision!

Janefx40 · 07/07/2020 19:45

@Kiza I was concerned about sedation too before I had it. I imagined that "sedation" meant that I'd be awake but groggy. But no, you will be fully knocked out just like a general but you will just wake up more quickly afterwards and recover quicker. It's quite a nice feeling as @BeHereNowx32 says x

Bestofyou1982 · 07/07/2020 20:04

Thanks for reply so quickly @BeHereNowx32 and Janefx40.

FET was a week today. Hence can't really seek guidance from clinic yet as official test not until 13th Haha! But school needing to know about being in from 20th for goodbye days with my year group. Letter has already gone out saying day with teacher and classmates so feel will be letting them down if stay home. It is full day in class with half ckass 1 day then 2 days later in class with other half of class. Feels risky when have not even been in another person's house or met with people outside of household - but 2 full days with 15 small people in a classroom environment.

Glitterandunicorns · 07/07/2020 20:06

@Bestofyou1982 congratulations! I'd suggest you do whatever will make you less stressed. The whole process is stressful, so if you're able to make things easier for yourself by staying at home, then do that with no guilt. I'm certain that your colleagues would understand your decision. Best of luck for a healthy pregnancy!

RosettaR · 07/07/2020 21:04

@Bestofyou1982 that's brilliant news! I dont think you should feel bad about making an excuse to cancel, people call in sick to their jobs all the time. If it makes you feel safe that's important.

@Kiza I was also completely out for egg collection, when I came round it took me a while to work out whether the procedure had happened, I didn't feel like I'd been unconscious but clearly I had as I knew nothing about it!

Kiza · 07/07/2020 21:27

Thanks for the replies about sedation, it's made me feel much more settled about it.
@Bestofyou1982 could you tell a little fib and say you've sprained your ankle so you can continue working virtually but can't physically get to school?

Kiza · 07/07/2020 21:28

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 07/07/2020 21:34

I’m a teacher too @Bestofyou1982 and I’m going back for a few days next week. As I’m now PUPO I feel confident and safe knowing the embryo is safe inside.
I know that I must still be careful however if in two weeks the Preg test is positive I certainly won’t be staying in or away from people. It’s tricky though as it’s limbo time isn’t it. If you have a positive result will you return to work in sept? Obviously normally we would but who knows in these strange times! Xx

BaileyBadger4 · 07/07/2020 23:39

Hello everybody could I please join? I'm about to phone the clinic tomorrow with my day one ready to start ICSI next month with EC provisionally booked for Sept 🤞 We were due to have our first fresh cycle in Jan this year but had to be cancelled last min due to over stimulation ☹️ we were re-booked in for June but then that got postponed due to Covid. So here we are! Clinic have recently been back in touch with my new batch number and have told me to ring on day 1 of my next cycle, which is tomorrow! Exciting times! Will be good to read through everyone's journeys 😊 xx
