Hi, we are starting a FET this month after a bit of back and forth with the clinic. Start downreg on Fri with ET hopefully first week of July. Wondering if anyone else cycling around the same time? X

Ooh, top tip, thanks Janefx40, really appreciate it. I’d heard that the buserelin trigger could affect the endometrium, so I will make sure to mention it if we are able to do a transfer this month. Just heard from the clinic, they’re going ahead with a Wednesday EC, gives me a few more days to get this extra follicles nice and big. Finding it very difficult to concentrate on work this afternoon.

LemonRabbit · 03/07/2020 17:59

Hi ladies, hope I can join in here, although I’m a bit late to the party!?
I’m on a FET transfer cycle now.
ET went ok (I think!) - now waiting until next Friday for pregnancy blood test. I’m trying to stay relaxed, but I’m super irritable and emotional at the moment. Not to mention I couldn’t remember if I’d taken my meds yesterday and had to phone the clinic and then take “extra” but spaced out - cue lots of crying from me. Poor DH! We now have a pill chart!
Anyway good luck everyone. Any tips for getting through the wait with my sanity intact?

granddesigns · 03/07/2020 18:18

Thanks all for your good wishes - it's done! And so begins the wait.... Of the 3 frozen embryos we had from the Covid suspended cycle one didn't survive the thaw so they had to use number 2..... trying not to over analyse everything now and keeping busy!

RosettaR · 03/07/2020 19:12

@SnarkWeek that's a great number of follicles and also good they are considering a fresh cycle. My boobs are the same, boobs fine but really painful nipples! I also keep getting tired and shaky like low blood sugar but sometimes when I've just eaten. Not sure what that's about. Clinic said could be the drugs or could be anxiety. No back pain for me though (so far).

@Janefx40 scary your clinic messed up like that. You rely on them to get things right!

Welcome @LemonRabbit and congrats on being PUPO! Sounds stressful with the meds. I've had a few meds mishaps and I'm sure clinics are used to things like that. I think the drugs do make us more forgetful and liable to stupid mistakes. Blame the drugs!

Congrats on being PUPO @granddesigns!

RosettaR · 03/07/2020 20:22

Talking of meds mishaps, we just realised the seal around the bottom of the fridge and come loose! Hoping it was still cold enough since stuff comes out the fridge feeling cold and we've not noticed anything going off. What timing though!

Nmvasey · 03/07/2020 20:24

Evening ladies, hope you're all well and you can help me with a quick question.

My clinic don't plan down reg start time in line with my cycle but understand most others do. What date in your cycle have other typically started? I'm due on on Monday and will be starting down reg on the same day - I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing and whether I'd be expecting another bleed within the 3 weeks or if that will all?

Janefx40 · 04/07/2020 06:48

@Nmvasey I'm not down regging but the clinic said if I did it would start on Day 21. I wouldn't worry tho. I'm sure they know what they are doing.

@LemonRabbit congrats on your transfer

@RosettaR it's probably fine with the fridge especially if they stuff still felt cold but you could check with the clinic just in case.

Yes it was a nightmare when the clinic screwed up as @BeHereNowx32 will remember. I noticed it myself because I was reading academic studies about burserelin (as you do). I won't bore you with the details - the clinic took steps they didn't know would work because it was uncharted territory. But it resulted in my daughter so alls well that ends well (I'm at a different clinic now tho - wouldn't trust them again!). Things like that are very rare.

I always think of myself as such a bog standard person but we had 3 things happen to us last time that were very rare. It turned out we have a rare fertility issue, the monumental screw up but then the third rare thing was a baby from a messed up cycle and an embryo that wasn't developing properly. So we did ok after all

Tarsette · 04/07/2020 06:55

@RosettaR and @SnarkWeek congrats on the great scans! That sounds really encouraging! It sometimes feels with IVF/FET that there are dozens of hurdles to overcome and as soon as you’re over one the next one appears over the horizon but you’ve made it past one of the big ones!

@Bestofyou1982 and @granddesigns co grays on the transfers! Hope you’re surviving the 2WW. The last time round, I actually quite enjoyed it but I think that’s because I’m losing hope this will works so just enjoy the notion of being PUPO!

I started my period yesterday and had a first scan today. Lining at 2mm (which is to be expected on day 2!). I start Gonal F 200iu tonight and go back for another scan next Thursday on day 7 to see how the lining has grown. This is the part I hate most as I feel like I should be doing stuff to help the lining grow (like sport, gobbling down suppléments and drinking pints of raspberry leaf tea, which I am doing but never feels like I am doing it enough...). I decided to put 2 embryos back in this time, since it will be our last try and the quality isn’t great (it’ll be one 3BB and one 5BC).

BeHereNowx32 · 04/07/2020 07:14

@Tarsette I fell pregnant with a 3BB embryo (it developed into a 3AB literally before they brought it out for transfer though! 🙂🙂) all the best.

@Janefx40 hopefully things go smoother for you this time. But so glad it all worked out in the end!

I have 2 days until transfer 😟 I’ve ran out of pomegranate juice and only have 3 raspberry tea bags left.... not sure I was even drinking enough! Oh well. It’s in fate’s hands now!

@Bestofyou1982 @granddesigns I will be joining you on the tww soon! What are you like with symptom spotting? I think I will be bad!

Lemongrass1 · 04/07/2020 09:12

@SnarkWeek & @RosettaR great news on all those follicles, hopefully EC will bring a great haul of eggs!

@Lemongrass1 @LemonRabbit congrats on being PUPO!

@Nmvasey I started down reg at CD21 with a bleed 11 days later. I would have thought it wouldn’t make any difference when you start it though, it will eventually have the same result!

@Tarsette Our frosties are all either 3BB or 4BC. Our clinic considers the 3BB ones to be good quality so I’m hopeful! I’ve never had a AA graded embie before. Very encouraging to hear @BeHereNowx32 had a pregnancy from a 3BB though. If anyone else has a similar story I’d be happy to hear 😁

@Janefx40 how are you getting on, so you have a rough idea on when you are due to ovulate? Sounds like your last cycle was incredibly stressful

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip have you had ET yet or are you going next week? I’m having mine on Fri. Taken last buserelin today and onto the pessaries and lubion tomorrow

Hello ladies , sorry I’m interested as I might need to go through an IVF soon, but I didn’t start any treatments yet , are the treat and invasive , is IVF
good luck to you all

Dodo09 · 04/07/2020 09:23

Sorry I meant the treatments are invasive and the Ivf is a good choice of not? Sorry on my post above my key pad wasn’t clear

Bestofyou1982 · 04/07/2020 10:05

@Dodo09 hi, yes the process can be gruelling physically and mentally, I've not found it particularly painful and no more invasive physically than a smear for most appointments, except egg collection with requires full sedation. A lot of waiting, not a lit of control over outcomes and disappointments along the way.
As for good choice or not, I can't speak for others but for me personally all other options to conceive a child haven't worked so I feel lucky to be given this option of medical intervention (especially as this round is NHS funded). Guess it depends on what you are looking for and what you are hoping for long term.

Bestofyou1982 · 04/07/2020 10:15

@Lemongrass1*@LemonRabbitand @granddesigns* congrats on being PUPO too. Hope I haven't missed anyone?
I'm on day 4. I'm sure time has slowed in the lead up to testing. Haha! How you both feeling about it all? I'm going to be naughty and do a very early test tomorrow just to see if anything going on yet (or at all). Hehe!

@Tarsette thanks. And good news on your scan. Another step closer. Good luck for Thursday! How you doing on the meds?

@BeHereNowx32 not long to go now! :-) :-)

Ladies, it feels like the group is really gathering momentum for many. Big virtual hugs and positive thoughts to you for the weekend whichever stage you are at. Let's try and be kind to ourselves. We're all just doing our best and sometimes we forget how well we are doing with it all. What are peoples plans for wellbeing this weekend? xx

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 04/07/2020 11:42

@Bestofyou1982

Good idea to mention wellbeing as we probably all forget to tell ourselves that we are coping so so well.

My well-being things are:

A stretch and release Pilates class. 1.5 hours of calm music, time on my own. Bliss!

Tea and cake with my elderly neighbours 💗
Always good for the soul when I talk to them.

Seeing my brother and sister tomorrow. Both are having a horrendous time medically at the moment so it’ll be nice to catch up xxx

Dodo09 · 04/07/2020 12:37

@Bestofyou1982 , what criterias do you need to qualify for ivf through nhs? I mean do you need to be married etc....

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 04/07/2020 12:46

@Dodo09
Hello! Here is some information from my clinic. NHS finding guidelines are quite clear.

www.carefertility.com/costs/nhs-ivf-funding/

However you can have IVF in UK or abroad.
The restrictions vary across counties and countries. You could email a clinic and ask for information. Many have helpline phone numbers also for you to enquire.

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 04/07/2020 12:48

You definitely don’t need to be married as you can have IVF with donor eggs/sperm.

Many single people do IVF through choice or due to medical reasons.

Bestofyou1982 · 04/07/2020 15:31

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip sounds like you have a lovely day planned in. Enjoy. :-)

Tarsette · 04/07/2020 17:45

@Bestofyou1982 thanks! Just had my first I injection Gonal F si not feeling any did effects yet but as this is my fourth cycle I know what to expect by now: lots of bloating and some tiredness but not much else!

In terms of ratings, yes I agree with you ladies that 3BB is a good rating and I have also heard numerous stories of women who got pregnant with their worst quality blast when all the better quality ones failed! I spent the day at the beach (I live in Hong Kong). It is swelteringly hot here!

Janefx40 · 04/07/2020 20:09

@Tarsette amazing to be able to go to the beach! Glad the injection went ok

I just took my first injection for quite a while. Clexane. It was ok actually. Am in the clinic every day at the moment for bloods. They think I ovulated today so now they just have to time things right for transfer but I think it will be Wednesday x

BeHereNowx32 · 04/07/2020 20:56

@Janefx40 I can’t believe we are having transfers the same week! Please help keep me sane during the tww 🤣🤣
Hope all goes ok with next scan/ appointment

Lemongrass1 · 04/07/2020 21:19

@Janefx40 that’s great news! Looks like there will be a few of us going onto the 2WW next week 😁

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip sorry to hear your brother and sister have medical issues at the moment. Hope you have a nice time seeing them.

@Bestofyou1982 good luck with your test tomorrow. Sending you lots of love.

Yes lots of us going into the 2WW. Dreading it. Or at least dreading test day.

Glitterandunicorns · 04/07/2020 22:51

Hi all, can I join you? I'm starting my first IVF attempt next week and it's fair to say I'm a bit nervous!

Although we'd planned it for a while, when COVID started, we kind of put it to the back of our minds and then we got a call a couple of weeks ago saying they could start our procedure straight away, which was sooner than we'd anticipated, but the sooner the better I suppose.

I'm due to start proceedings with day two injections sometime this week.

If anyone has been through this before, I've been told that I'll be given Fentanyl during egg collection. I understand that's a super strong drug. Does anyone know if it makes your head fuzzy afterwards? Bit of a weird question, I know!
