Just that really, I know it's a difficult time for so many people, but clinics shuttered just as DP finally agreed to get his semen analyisis done. My progesterone was normal, and I have regular periods, so I don't think Clomid would be an option for us. We've been trying for a year and a half, and I am 35 on Saturday.

If we do get a referral, and need IVF, how long will that take? So many questions?

Thanks

@RonRon1 thank you. Time goes slowly when you’re waiting for it all to start. It’s not far away tho.

Just saw my mum and she said my belly looks huge. Hoping it’s more than just those progesterone pesseries 😳 x

Daisz · 14/07/2020 19:50

@BeHereNowx32 there is so much more to implantation than just womb lining, you have as much chance as everyone else for a positive outcome. Sometimes everything looks good on paper but for some reason it does not work out. That is why I am not getting carried away with excitement despite everything looking good. Really really hoping that it has worked out for you. I understand if you don't want to update right away. I expect Mumsnet will be the last thing on your mind regardless of the outcome, but when you are ready you can hopefully tell us all the good news!🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞.

@BambiOnIce80 I understand what you are saying, about testing. I will do the same. However as most pregnancy tests pick up very low hormone levels, if I had tested before my last successful cycle, more than likely a test would have picked up my chemical pregnancy. So I will be doing it in the knowledge a blood test can be the only test that can give a proper indication of a viable pregnancy.

Pleased for you @RonRon1, although if your Mum is right you may not have to wait that long afterall.Smile

@Daisz I know. It’s not always straightforward! Thank you so much. Will prob let you all know ASAP!😅

BambiOnIce80 · 14/07/2020 21:42

Excellent news on your lining @Daisz! 🤩 I'm sure time will fly up to next Wednesday - not long at all until you can uncork that nice red 🍷😉 I absolutely hear you about the HPT 👍 I'm more thinking that I'll be using it as an indicator of a BFN so that I can get my big snotty sobbing fit out of the way before the clinic phone call at midday 😬 I'd hopefully be able to have a more unemotional conversation with them then about next steps. I realised last time that I was going to break down if/when they told me that it was a BFN and I'd wished I'd collected my FMU to do a test and prepare myself for the news once we got home. If it was a BFP, then I'd be terrified that my beta wouldn't be over 100 IU... but I think I'd cope with that better than a BFN result over the phone 🤔 I'm also going to get a HPT that isn't that sensitive (hopefully a 25 IU accusay or something) to try and minimise any false positives 🧪

Glad to hear your cycle isn't far off now too @RonRon1 🙂 Will it still be the school holidays when it starts? 🤞

unknownscot · 19/07/2020 12:44

Hi guys. We were at the clinic this morning so I start my tablets on 2 August and injections on 14th! So nervous but excited for our first IVF. I'm having a freeze all so won't be getting FET until end of sept/start of oct!
Hope ur all good x

ally99101 · 19/07/2020 12:56

Thanks @RonRon1! Wasn't feeling too nervous until I read people's experiences of it, some either said it was just like their smear, others said the pain was so bad they nearly passed out Shock. So hopefully it isn't too bad!

unknownscot · 19/07/2020 13:02

@ally99101

Good luck.
I went by myself as my husband was working away at the time. It was uncomfortable but it's over before you know it.
Take some pain killers an hour before x

RonRon1 · 19/07/2020 13:08

@ally99101, I hope it is not too uncomfortable. Be strong.

@unknownscott. We will be on very similar cycles. I am starting injections when I get my period. Well, they said they MIGHT make me take the pill for a few weeks but they are hoping I can start injections right away. I am terrible. Already worked out if it goes to plan when I would be due etc. I am my own worst enemy. @BeHereNowx32 also coping you and getting DH to call for results this time and NOT doing pregnancy tests before blood test this time.

theotherfossilsister · 19/07/2020 13:10

Just checked back and delighted to see everyone's good news about treatments advancing and definitely the news from @beherenow. Most fantastic thing. I am so happy for you.

I had a really tough June, and GP suggested I put ttc on hold for a few months. I know it sounds counter intuitive, and I'm really struggling with it in my head ( still knowing all cycle days etc but pretending like I don't even to myself so I can be all like, ah I stopped trying and it worked if it does.) Even dp doesn't know I am still thinking about it. We lost a dear friend last month and it was literally the worst shock ever, so that should be more our focus. I guess, and living in a way which honours her. She was always so excited about the idea of us having a baby. We both loved the names Manon or Eliza and she said that I could have them if I got there first, as she was single. Now I need to use one if we ever have a daughter.

Had a terrible breakdown after her death, and went to France for a bit where my family live. Dp flew to join me and we went to the sea. We are trying to focus on health, compassion etc. I guess this is a good thing. Also I am 'allowed' to start trying again in August. Might even get dp's sperm analysis and another ovulation blood test then. I think I might not have ovulated this month anyway, because of trauma. Not sure if that is a thing? Just a feeling I have.

So happy things are going well for people on here. I am going on Cimzia next week for my RA, and really working on my writing until I'm allowed back to work.
