Is anyone else having, had or starting treatment with abc?? If everything goes to plan we should be starting our first cycle with them in February. And was wondering if anyone’s got any advice/ stories.

@DobbieFreeElf how are you today?? Did you manage to start taking your medication today??
@FlapJackered how are you feeling today?? Are you ready for egg transfer tomorrow?? Have you spoken about how many eggs you are transferring.
It’s only a week till my treatment appointment I’m getting so nervous, I just want to get started and it over with now. I feel until then everything else is on hold. At the moment can’t plan anything to far ahead has don’t know what the outcome is going to be. I hate the unknown xxx

@Needtotalkivf19 😬 anxious but excited for tomorrow. Fingers crossed my embryos are still hanging on. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
They told me they don't put more than one in at ABC. They don't believe it makes any difference to the outcome and they worry about multiples apparently, I am fine with that as the thought of twins terrifies me!
That is exciting that your appointment is so soon, it will fly by I am sure! 😁

Hey! So it’s a case of the missing period! So frustrating, still brown spotting but no full flow yet so just holding out for that!

Good luck tomorrow @FlapJackered! They also told me they have a single embryo transfer (SET) policy at abc, personally I would love to have twins so I was disappointed! I can understand the theory behind it though 😊

Transfer done and one top grade embryo transferred and two frozen! 😁
Now for the wait 😬

Exciting @FlapJackered let the TWW commence!!! Are you booked in for a bHCG blood test?

I have got some awful period pains so I’m sure I’ll come on properly tonight! CD1 tomorrow then, just a couple of days later than expected! Honestly the beginning part of this week has been soooooo long!!!

@Needtotalkivf19 the transfer was actually fine and really quick, just like a smear test.
I feel ok, I think the progesterone is already giving me cramps and a bit of nausea. I must remind myself when I try to make them into symptoms later in the week!!
I am going to need good distraction techniques 🤦🏼‍♀️

@FlapJackered glad your feeling ok :) and all went well. Are you going back to work before your test date?? And are you planning on testing early. I know I’m way off from the tww but me and my husband was talking about it last night and he said he wouldn’t want me be test before the date but I don’t think I’ll be able to last that long. Was thinking I could do it without him knowing but don’t think I could keep it to myself whatever way it went.

@DobbieFreeElf how are you feeling today, has af made her appearance?? Finger crossed she has and you can get back on track. I think all the waiting is what worst about this experience, and your right Days seem so long when your waiting for something xx

Hey @Needtotalkivf19! Yes, started last night so booked in scan for Monday and start meds tomorrow! It’s crazy, we’ve been on this road for so many years and yet 2 days has taken an eternity!

@Needtotalkivf19 my blood test date is actually only 9dpt and I have just read that you shouldn't test before then as there is unlikely to be enough hcg? My DH is going away with work that day though so I will probably take a test in the morning before the blood test. 😬
I have dug out my Christmas chocolate and bought a really nice bottle of wine for the fridge to drown my sorrows if it is a negative. I am going to be a nervous wreck until then 🙈

I can imagine! I’ll be the same in a couple of weeks (as long as everything goes ok over the next couple of weeks)! If the test is negative you might not have enough hcg in your urine so don’t crack open the bottle until you get your bloods back!

@DobbieFreeElf how are you getting on with the injections?? Have you noticed any side affects yet??

@FlapJackered how you getting on in your tww?? From what I’ve seen on other post it the worst part of it all. But hopefully your managing to relaxing

I go back on Tuesday to find out what medication I will start on and to be shown how to do it. My partners going to do the injections for me tho has I don’t think I will dare to myself lol.
If all goes to plan I should start them when I’m period starts on the 11th.

The jabs are fine! In fact, like you, I was going to make my husband do them and then last night (second one) we were out at a friends so I had to go and give it to myself in the car! They really aren’t bad, maybe a little sting!

I find a lot of symptoms are in the mind so I try not to think too much into it! (Although the heat flashes at night on clomid we’re pretty bad but then again maybe I was just hot 😉)!

@Needtotalkivf19 slightly losing my mind 🙈
I have absolutely no symptoms and have a really strong feeling it hasn't worked, but still hanging on to hope.
It feels a bit like playing the lottery, you know you won't have won but you still picture having the winning ticket!
Good luck tomorrow with the appointment. 11th will come around really quickly now.

@DobbieFreeElf I am glad you're getting on ok with the injections, they are actually fine aren't they. In a way there is something quite satisfying about doing them, as it feels like you're doing something proactive.
I am on some horrible blood thinners now, which aren't quite as fun. 👎

I had my first scan today, they seemed happy. 12 follicles on the right and 6 on the left. She said it was a good number but I haven’t really looked into the numbers much!

@DobbieFreeElf hope your feeling ok and not had to many side effects, sounds like your doing well, when do you go back for your next scan??

@FlapJackered sorry time seems to be going so slow for you always the case when your waiting for something. Try not to worry about symptoms a lot of people who I’ve spoke to had no symptoms either so they still hope 😊 your doing well has I think I may of already tested lol.
Btw Thankyou for the saying you give me it the best saying I’ve heard to compare ivf to, it so true!!

After my appointment today, I am still on track to start on my February period which should be 11th, but I know anything could happen so trying not to get to excited xx

That’s exciting @Needtotalkivf19 my period was a day or 2 later than expected this month, I think it was the anticipation of starting the treatment! Hopefully time passes quickly for you!

No symptoms to talk of, although I’m sooo hungry all the time but I think that’s just me being hungry! Trying so hard not to snack all day on cals I don’t need! Especially as I’ve had to pause my regular classes and netball!

I remember you wait typical the one time you want your period to show up, after get a rough timeline today I hoping I’m a day or two late has I start my holiday from work the week after so can stay closer. traveling today was a nightmare, roads closed, stand still traffic, snow, rain which made it impossible to see. Made me realise I can’t be dealing with that every other day xx

@DobbieFreeElf it sounds like it is all going the right direction with your follicles! 🤞
I think you're right not to focus on the numbers too much. They change so much from follicles, to eggs, to embryos.

@Needtotalkivf19 that is great you have got the go ahead to start! Very exciting!
Still no symptoms here, although feeling much calmer as I am so sure it hasn't worked that I feel like I am just waiting for AF to come now. Only two more days!

Not long! It would still be really early in a natural pregnancy to feel any symptoms so you never know! 🤞

Just had another scan, 17 follicles, largest is 17mm, she seemed to think that 12 looked good to go and the 5 smaller ones still had some growing. I was expecting EC to be next Monday but it might be brought forward to Friday or Saturday this week, just waiting to hear back this afternoon about a blood test they took and I should know when it will be!

Funny you say that @Needtotalkivf19 I was thinking of you the other day, as I said before the Wimbledon clinic is 1 hour from where I live but it's taken over an hour and a half both times I've travelled up (and back) this week. I was going to ask if you have somewhere closer you can stay because it's a long old trip for a 15 minute appointment (and mine's half yours)!

Have you heard back from them regarding EC yet??
And I’m definitely going to look for somewhere to stay even if it’s just a few nights and night before EC.
When I started I didn’t think it would be a problem, travelling never bothered until now haha so god knows what I’ll be like once I’ve started treatment. If you don’t mind me asking how many egg did they say you had in your ovaries at your first appointment before accepting you for treatment. I’m alittle worried after yesterday has I only have one ovary and the nurse said something about 11 which I feels a lot but they seem happy xx

Heard from them late afternoon, I was told my oestradiol is still quite low (didn’t give a specific number) so they haven’t given me a day for EC and have booked me in for another scan on Friday. I need to check but I’m sure they said to continue with both the Bemfola and Cetrotide so I think EC will be Monday (as they’re shit Sunday)

Do you mean Antral Follicles? I had 25 at my initial appointment but that was in November and I have read somewhere that it is different every month so I don’t know what it was starting this cycle. She said it was quite a high number but she also said that’s not always ideal as it can mean that there are lots of follicles but not all are ideal x

Yer that what I think I ment lol, it was worrying me thinking I may have to many before meds so would end up with 0HSS.

It looks like it has worked!!
I have got to have the blood test today to confirm the hcg levels are high enough, but it looks good!
I can't actually believe it! 🙈 I just really hope I can hold onto it now 😬

@DobbieFreeElf the same thing happened to me with delaying EC because of bloods so I think they monitor everything really well to make sure they get them the ideal size. How are you feeling?

@Needtotalkivf19 I would try not to worry about numbers too much if you can. Some ladies on the ivf chat I am on got 10-16 eggs and ended up with 3 fertilising which is the same as me with 6 eggs.
