Is anyone else having, had or starting treatment with abc?? If everything goes to plan we should be starting our first cycle with them in February. And was wondering if anyone’s got any advice/ stories.
Thanks in advance.

Congratulations @FlapJackered! Given me a positive mental boost for e next few weeks! Let us know when you get your bHCG back today!

Off for another scan this morning! Feeling fine, a bit achy in my lower back and left hip but that could be this or just a general ache!

FlapJackered · 31/01/2020 09:06

Thank you both! 😍 I am keeping everything crossed you both get your bfps too. X

DobbieFreeElf · 31/01/2020 10:47

EC moved again! Sunday and we’re going to have to go into central London but it is what it is! Now just to figure out how we get there and who can have DC1!

Needtotalkivf19 · 31/01/2020 23:32

Sorry to hear things are not going to plan @but at least they are doing collections, I didn’t know they did this as I was worrying with my timeline ec should be on a Sunday.
Hope you managed to sort childcare and travel out and hasn’t cause you to much extra stress. Not what you need at the moment. Good luck for Sunday!! Xx

Thanks @Needtotalkivf19! Childcare sorted (it’s mostly just tricky as only 2 friends know that we’re doing this and I haven’t wanted to tell our family so asking them would raise questions and I’m a terrible liar!) my friend has said he’s good to come and play for the day! Luckily EC is very late morning, because Sunday trains are ridiculous, we’re going to drive (which was my preference as I didn’t fancy tube/ trains straight after!)!

I’m excited and feeling cautiously optimistic! X

Needtotalkivf19 · 01/02/2020 09:21

Aww that great of your friend, glad you have got some people for support. I’ve told my mum and dad (which I’m not sure was the best idea lol) but they have been through ivf themselves and have been great actually.
I like you would of choose to go in the car, I’m not keen on trains/tubes.
Enjoy your day without injection!!
Sending lots of luck for tomorrow!! Xx

@DobbieFreeElf good luck for tomorrow! I will keep my fingers crossed for lots of lovely eggs! 🤞

DobbieFreeElf · 02/02/2020 16:51

Thanks @FlapJackered, how are you feeling?

We’re just on our way back from the hospital, they got 8 eggs (which they said a couple of times was good). However we had a bit of a shock with my husband’s sample, just 2million and a 20% mobility. Considering he had 11mill and 16 mill last Jan and April and above average in all other areas it was a surprise. Because of this we are going to have to fertilise with ICSI rather than IVF.

In a way this has drawn a bit of a line under me ever believing I could conceive naturally (which would obviously be impossible with those numbers) so I now know that once we either have a baby or reach our financial limit for medical conception I can put a pin in this journey and I won’t constantly hope that it might happen naturally (if that makes sense!).

FlapJackered · 02/02/2020 18:36

@DobbieFreeElf that is great you got 8 eggs!! Well done! How are you feeling?
Sorry to hear about your DHs sperm, not what you want to hear but as you say better the devil you know. ICSI will hopefully bypass those issues. I had ICSI too as my DH has antibodies which make his all clump together.

I am feeling good thanks, just soooo tired as the progesterone is making me wake up at 4am every morning. My dog has a stomach bug so I have been clearing up vom all weekend 🤦‍♀️ so I think any nausea can be attributed to that! 😂

DobbieFreeElf · 02/02/2020 21:05

Thanks @FlapJackered, fingers crossed they’re good ones too! I actually feel ok, a little achy and maybe a little more tired but generally fine! Really enjoyed my sleep at the hospital!

Early pregnancy is exhausting! Put your feet up! Hopefully your dog is better soon x

DobbieFreeElf · 03/02/2020 11:51

Just had a call from the Embryologist, 7 of the 8 eggs have fertilised (with ICSI)! Everything crossed that they do what they need to do in the next few days with transfer planned for Friday!

Needtotalkivf19 · 03/02/2020 19:13

That’s great news!! Sorry all didn’t go to plan and you needed the ICSI but the results are brilliant!! Fingers cross the time doesn’t go to slow and Fridays here before you know it xx
@FlapJackered how are you feeling?? Have you got any early pregnancy symptoms yet?? Have you got your early scan date?? Xx

OP posts:
DobbieFreeElf · 03/02/2020 20:42

Yes very happy! Now just to keep everything crossed for the next few days that we have something to transfer!

FlapJackered · 04/02/2020 03:59

@DobbieFreeElf that is great news!!! Congratulations. I will keep everything crossed for Friday! 🤞🤞

@Needtotalkivf19 not much in the way of symptoms, slightly sore boobs and a little queasy now and then. I am still taking the progesterone which could be to blame for that though, it also makes me wake up at stupid o'clock every morning 🙄@DobbieFreeElf I am sure you will have the joys of that soon! 😂
Not long until you start now! Have you had all your meds delivered yet?

FlapJackered · 04/02/2020 04:00

@Needtotalkivf19 scan date is 21st 😬

Dot457 · 04/02/2020 10:44

Hi all, had to jump on this as I'm due to start injections any day now as I'm due on my period. Have spoken to @Needtotalkivf19 before now and it's nice to be on a thread with others, on my first round I didnt' use mumsnet at all, I only found it after our early MC so it's been a god send. I literally feel sick waiting about, I just want to crack on now! Keeping occupied is great but I literally don't stop thinking about when my period will come. Wish I had a turn off button xx

DobbieFreeElf · 04/02/2020 12:55

Hi @Dot457, don’t worry I know exactly what you mean! My period was late last month (by a couple of days) and those felt like an eternity! I’m now in another time void waiting for news on how our embryos are developing! I just want it all to be over but I guess I won’t feel like it is until I (very hopefully) am holding our newborn! Where are you having your treatment?

Dot457 · 04/02/2020 13:10

@DobbieFreeElf - Hello! To be honest my periods are never on time due to all the issues I have, so it's normal but for the past 3 months I've been on time give or take a few days, it will be sods law that I'm weeks/months late this time Sad

I'm having it at ABC in Manchester! I'm from Leeds, live in Wakefield now, so it's not a bad drive as my partner is actually from Blackpool so we did many trips up and down the M62 and over the moors like it was going out of fashion haha so I really don't mind the trip to be honest! Sorry, I haven't read every single message yet! (I'm at work so being a bit naughty) Are you waiting for transfer? It's so hard isn't it! What are you doing to keep busy? I have an up and down lifestyle, sometimes I'm so busy I feel like days go by and they all go into one day, but then sometimes I'm like right I need to do something! I hate having an overthinking brain, I'm my own worst enemy, and I'm yet to speak to someone doing IVF who does not do this! xx

HavelockVetinari · 04/02/2020 14:48

Hi all, I'm about to start with ABC in Manchester - do you know how long it generally takes from first appointment? And do they do normal IVF or is it only mild?

DobbieFreeElf · 04/02/2020 14:49

@Dot457 It's like they know that they're expected on time and just keep us hanging around in anticipation just to piss us off... a bit like my mum!

Cool, I'm seen at the Wimbledon clinic but, because my EC was brought forward a day to Sunday, we had to trek into central London to St. Paul's for the procedure.

Just waiting for transfer now, I had 8 eggs collected. Yesterday I had a call and 7 fertilised. I'll get another update tomorrow and, all being well, back up to St.Paul's on Friday for Transfer!

I'm driving myself a little bit crazy to be honest! As they have also vetoed any of my usual sports and exercise classes (because they're too intense) I'm full of nervous energy!

I have a 3 year old to keep me busy and work... when I can concentrate!!!

Did you say that you have had one previous round?

DobbieFreeElf · 04/02/2020 14:53

Hey @HavelockVetinari, my message crossed paths with yours!

I can only answer from my experience but from your initial consultation you have to start within 3 months, we were delayed because we spent a month in Australia over Xmas and because I had v.v slightly elevated TSH so I had to start taking medication for that to bring my TSH below 2.5.

After the initial consultation you have your first appointment, 2 weeks before expected AF and then start medication CD2.

I think if we hadn't had the TSH/ Australia delay we would have been able to start on my next cycle.

Dot457 · 04/02/2020 17:23

@DobbieFreeElf - Haha! Honestly I'm at my whitss end with all this waiting around, I feel like I've unintentionally isolated my self these past couple of years because of it all. It just felt easier. Hopefully that trek you had to do was worth it!! Keeping everything crossed on a success story for you. Ah yes, I do Netball and was about to start a Saturday morning class but thats going to go down the drain now, which is fine but exercise is the best for occupying my self, like you say atleast it burns energy!

Yeah we had a round on the NHS around this time last year weirdly. I've not timed it this way on purpose but it's just fallen at the exact same time as last time. We got 4 eggs as only one ovary produced eggs, all 4 fertilised but only one survived the process. Do you mind me asking if your 3 year old was conceived with IVF? I love to hear success stories :) We don't have the best chance as I have so many infertility factors, but I won't stop until I am physically and mentally drained from it all xx

DobbieFreeElf · 04/02/2020 18:44

@Dot457 I play netball too, in a league and training, I had to fake a “4-6 week injury” just before we started which meant I missed the last couple of games of the season but the fertility nurse at ABC was fairly adamant that netball was a no-no!

Our 3 year old was conceived naturally, first try! Really easy pregnancy! We then conceived again straight away when he was 10months old and dropped his day feed. That ended with a miscarriage at 9/10weeks. It took 6 months to conceive again, another miscarriage. That was summer 2018 and then nothing since then after trying month on month. All tests on me were normal, my husband’s count was low (11million in Jan and 16million in April) but the nhs weren’t concerned by that.

Then when we were in for EC last weekend his sample was 2million, which was a surprise, so we ended up having ICSI last minute.

I guess his low count could maybe have accounted for the problems we’ve had the past couple of years.

I’m 33 and my husband is 39 so we’re not considered old which has made the whole thing more frustrating!

DobbieFreeElf · 05/02/2020 12:07

Longest morning in history! But finally an update from the embryologis... of the 7 fertilised we have 3 Grade 1's, 3 Grade 2's and 1 Grade 3... So pretty positive news, will get my Transfer time for Friday confirmed tomorrow and hoping that these little guys keep doing their thing!
