As it says on the title really! Wondering if anyone else twiddling their thumbs and wanted to keep each other company?
Me- 40, was TTC for 4 years (unexplained infertility)- short protocol in 2018- fresh transfer resulted in an ectopic pregnancy followed by a successful FET later in the year. We have 8 frosties which we hope to use in another FET starting Feb/March 2020. First consultation next month. Feels so daunting to be starting the process again! X

Hi all

Haven't read through but my dad is in in intensive care in hospital he had a bleed on brain and is currently sedated and ventilated.

Popped ( well a 2.5 hour pop ) back home. For a sleep and a shower and I need to go to work to cancel my meetings.

Had letter through for me to ring and arrange the group meeting evening . I know I have to ring but with everything going on its hard .

It's also a hospital that is in a totally other direction to me and to the hospital my dad is in.

Rubyredwren · 04/03/2020 08:12

@BaileyBadger4 Welcome back! Exciting news about your batching in June.

@thefishthatcouldwish Sorry to hear about your dad. I hope everything is okay. Take care of yourself and sending lots of positive thoughts xx

thefishthatcouldwish · 05/03/2020 06:25

thefishthatcouldwish · 05/03/2020 06:27

Posted too soon consent signing is 15th of April.

I'm at a loss as my dad is my focus at moment.

Tryin4no2 · 05/03/2020 08:21

Really sorry to hear about you dad @thefishthatcouldwish - wishing him a speedy recovery x

CritterTamer · 06/03/2020 04:15

@thefishthatcouldwish I'm so sorry to read about your dad, I do hope he improves soon and that you are ok. Dealing with IVF on to of that must be so difficult. Maybe ask to delay starting for a month or so of it's all too much?
AFM I've booked my treatment planning appointment for Monday, and starting acupuncture again on Tuesday so things are finally getting going for us. I got everyone else is coping ok, whatever stage of the process you're at.

CritterTamer · 06/03/2020 04:16

That should have said I hope* everyone is coping!

Cmd20 · 06/03/2020 15:27

Hi. Im so glad to see there ia a forum on here to discuss. I just had my first ET this morning and now have to wait until monday 16th before i can test. The waiting is killing me already.

BeHereNowx32 · 08/03/2020 12:54

@Cmd20 the wait is torture! How are you feeling today?

@thefishthatcouldwish I hope your dad is doing ok now

I am starting treatment for FET on Tuesday. I do have done stuff in my mind atm. So, hoping I will manage to relax during tww. Doubt it! Lol

AM2020 · 08/03/2020 22:04

@BeHereNowx32 I am starting the treatment for the fet this week as well. It will be my second time and I hope it will be positive this time. I have also started accupuncture sessions last week...i am a bit anxious but I am trying not to think too much...

CritterTamer · 09/03/2020 05:46

My treatment planning appointment is today. Think I have another month or so to wait though as we're going to do an endo scratch this month. Acupuncture starts tomorrow. It feels good to get things moving at last but I'm already dreading that TWW.

BeHereNowx32 · 09/03/2020 07:03

@Am2020 that’s good you have started acupuncture. Have you tried it before? I have never done it before. I still need to download the ivf mindful app. I’m going to do it today, because I’m not sleeping well.
But I am the same, not thinking about it much. Otherwise I would stress!

@CritterTamer a month isn’t far away at all. (It feels like it at first!). I haven’t had the endo scratch either. I hope it helps. Did your LP sort itself out?

CritterTamer · 09/03/2020 07:17

@beherenowx32 I'm sure the scratch helped last time, so I want to have it again even though the clinics are now saying it doesn't do much. My LP was almost 10 days last cycle which is not good, but almost normal for me so I guess things are almost back to normal now. Good luck with the mindful IVF app - I hope it helps you. I find it really difficult to make time for things like that now with the twins - even my yoga had stopped at the moment. Looking forward to the acupuncture tomorrow - 30 minutes of relaxation 😀

AM2020 · 09/03/2020 08:54

@BeHereNowx32, last week was the first time I had accupuncture, you feel more relaxed on the day and I hope slowly will help in preparation for the transfer. I haven't been sleeping well either for months but in the past 2 weeks I have started to have relaxing music, i.e. sound of rain, playing in the room during night and it does help.

I also had a scratch/mock test last time and the Dr said it usually helps and we will do the same this time.

Best of luck everyone...

BeHereNowx32 · 09/03/2020 08:58

@CritterTamer I know. I struggle with one baby. I didn’t manage to wash my hair for over a week until yesterday.😅 enjoy the relaxing!

I asked a couple of cycles ago if I could get a scratch. But my clinic don’t offer it. Otherwise I would try. Sounds painful tho!

@AM2020 lovely that it’s helping you to relax! Anything like that must help. Even if it helps us cope.

My mock is tomorrow. Really not looking forward to it. 😐 but it’s good to get things started.

Rubyredwren · 09/03/2020 13:02

@Cmd20 how are you going with the 2WW?

@BeHereNowx32 @AM2020 @CritterTamer
Good luck with your upcoming treatment!

It sounds like a few of you have had success with previous cycles after a scratch. Would you recommend? My clinic informed us of it but wouldn’t advise one way or another.

I’ve sent all my notes to a new clinic that I’m considering so will hopefully be back on it soon! Trying naturally until then and I’m a few days off ovulating 😉

R4321 · 09/03/2020 16:14

Hi ladies,
please can I join this thread. I’m
New to all this. Is anyone at St Mary’s in Manchester?
We had our 1st appointment December. We have had all our tests done and everything had come back normal. We have been ttc for 3years! Also just had our group session appointment. Would be nice to talk to people going through all this as It’s quite lonely when all your friends have babies xx

CritterTamer · 09/03/2020 17:04

@Rubyredwren clinics don't like doing the scratch any more as there was a recent study that found no evidence it works, however I strongly believe it made a difference to my last cycle and I know other ladies who've said the same. In my case I think I have an issue with implantation as despite an almost 100% fertilisation rate over our two IVF cycles, I've never achieved so much as a chemical pregnancy without the scratch. My acupuncturist thinks this is down to my body not creating healthy womb linings naturally after spending 10 years on a contraceptive pill that stopped my period entirely. If you think your issue is with implantation then it's might be worth asking for a scratch - it is quite painful though.

C88M · 09/03/2020 17:45

@R4321 I’m at St Mary’s Manchester - were doing FET not IVF this time though. We did IVF late last year but had a miscarriage at 13 weeks.

R4321 · 09/03/2020 20:58

So sorry for your loss @C88M
Can I ask how long from when you signed all the proper work, does it take to getting meds etc... also still trying to work all this stuff out what does FET stand for?

Rubyredwren · 09/03/2020 21:17

@CritterTamer that is really interesting about scratch. Just my person opinion but I think implantation is my problem. Normal ovulation, hormones, tubes, lining etc. but I’ve never had a natural pregnancy and 1 x failed fresh IVF (2 embies) and 1 x failed FET.
My acupuncturist thinks we need to work on the quality of my blood.
I found egg collection painful enough (apparently my follicles have thick walls) so don’t know how I’ll go with a scratch.

Does anyone else get/heard of cramps about a week after AF or even a week before AF? I can’t figure out what it is. It usually happens during exercise.

CritterTamer · 09/03/2020 21:39

@R4321 FET is a frozen embryo transfer. With my private clinic you can get startef after your next period after signing the paperwork. No idea how long it takes if you are NHS funded though.

C88M · 09/03/2020 23:18

@R4321 I had the group session on 13th August. Then started 5th September with two week wait for a negative pregnancy test, started noristerone (my bleeds are induced) 19th September.

I think if you have natural cycles it can just be the next period.

BeHereNowx32 · 10/03/2020 08:07

I’m getting nervous about the mock transfer 🙈🙈 they did say I could use gas and air. Can’t believe I’m getting nervous after being through mock/ transfers 5 times and having a baby!

Hope everyone else is doing ok today. I should prob be listening to my ivf app, but won’t get a chance
