As it says on the title really! Wondering if anyone else twiddling their thumbs and wanted to keep each other company?
Me- 40, was TTC for 4 years (unexplained infertility)- short protocol in 2018- fresh transfer resulted in an ectopic pregnancy followed by a successful FET later in the year. We have 8 frosties which we hope to use in another FET starting Feb/March 2020. First consultation next month. Feels so daunting to be starting the process again! X

@HopingForAMiracle1 Welcome to the thread. Wishing you best of luck.

I’m big on supplements so would say if you are not already doing so start taking A prenatal supplement with 400mg of folic acid daily. I’m also taking 400mg of CoQ10 and myoinositol to help with egg quality and regulate my cycle.
I do acupuncture as well
Basically, I’m covering all bases so I will get pregnant have my baby! 😊

Mischali · 18/02/2020 08:41

@Rubyredwren I’m doing ok, tested today and trigger is out. I’m very anxious but I have an anxiety disorder and as you all know I’ve been under a lot of stress so idk just wish the anxiety & panic attacks would stop. Atm I’m freaking out when I think about having two kids. Hormones are also to blame of course. I just want to know either way.
When is your otd?

@Tryin4no2 are you taking progesterone supplements? If you are taking anything vaginally there is a good chance of spotting. Also of course implantation... how far along are you in tww again?

@Minster2012 can’t wait for your test results!

Everyone else doing down regulating or stims or otherwise waiting, how are you?

Mischali · 18/02/2020 08:45

@HopingForAMiracle1 so sorry to hear about your hard journey. Hope you find a great clinic & doctor and good results xx

Rubyredwren · 18/02/2020 08:53

@Mischali That’s no good about your anxiety! Hopefully you are able to do lots of lovely things that make you happy to keep your mind off everything.
My OTD is next Thursday I think. I have a blood test this Thursday to see how things are progressing as I did natural cycle without trigger shot.
I am really hating this feeling that my period is about to start though!

BeHereNowx32 · 18/02/2020 09:07

@HopingForAMiracle1 I also took a prenatal vitamin (7 seas), folic acid, coq10 and omega 3. I ate more protein to help with egg quality.

@Tryin4no2 hopefully the spotting is just the progesterone 😔 I know how hard it is.

@Mischali I have been feeling the same. Actually worrying about being pregnant with a child already and then having 2 children. Although, I really really do want it.

My period started today. So, I’m waiting on a call from a nurse to arrange my next appointment. I guess this is for the mock transfer (which I found really painful last time 😣), and then the injection etc.

Minster2012 · 18/02/2020 09:12

@Tryin4no2 spotting at any point especially not red doesn’t mean anything don’t lose faith 🥰

Tryin4no2 · 18/02/2020 09:15

@Mischali really sorry to hear you are suffering with anxiety - it’s a very stressful uncertain time and must be very difficult with lots of other stressful things going on. Yes I am taking progesterone suppositories but it doesn’t seem like that is the cause - feels like what I get before a period.... my test date is Friday - can’t bear the thought of doing the test, particularly when I don’t think it will be positive..... @Rubyredwren I feel your pain - hopefully we are both wrong... yours may not be about a period - would be a bit early for that given test date of next Thursday x

Tryin4no2 · 18/02/2020 09:19

@BeHereNowx32 thanks - I’m afraid I’m not sure it is the progesterone ... can I ask what is a mock transfer? Hope it’s not as sore this time.

@Minster2012 unfortunately it has gone a bit red at points now, still light but a bit seemed like a clot (sorry TMI!!) so I think this cycle is failing.... 😔

BeHereNowx32 · 18/02/2020 09:51

@Tryin4no2 oh no. The same thing happened on my first cycle. I had spotting, and unfortunately it failed. So sorry.

The mock transfer is like a practice go at the transfer. I find the transfer painful too! And with the mock, they hit the inside of my womb too hard with the catheter. I had really painful cramps after it too. They have said that I can use gas and air. Which I always use with transfer. So, will see.

Sending you love today!

Minster2012 · 18/02/2020 10:15

@Tryin4no2 oh no, have you spoken to your clinic? Sending hugs I’m sure they will still say stay strong and keep up with the meds it’s not for sure yet xx

Tryin4no2 · 18/02/2020 11:15

They said if it goes red it is probably failing. Not heard back from them today....

Tryin4no2 · 18/02/2020 11:37

Thanks @BeHereNowx32 Hoping the gas and air helps - not heard of a mock one before - as if we don’t have enough to go through! X

Mischali · 18/02/2020 11:43

@Tryin4no2 oh no hun, just whatever you do don’t stop your meds until otd; until you know for sure!! I’m keeping fx that it’s just a side effect of the progesterone or ib.

@Rubyredwren what are they testing for in the blood test? Progesterone? Hopefully hcg as well!

@BeHereNowx32 glad you can get the ball rolling. Hope the mock transfer goes well. It isn’t the most comfortable procedure. Glad I’m not the only one stressing about having 2 kids, even though I’m paradoxically doing ivf ttc #2. That’s just the way things are.

@HopingForAMiracle1 - for 1 month prior to ivf I upped my protein intake to about 60g per day, increased plant proteins (lentils and beans) a bit more, tried to eat more fruit and veg. I took pregnacare, coq 10, salmon oil and l-arginine. Dh took wellman supplements, l-arginine, and salmon oil. Both of us had no alcohol that month and tried to stay well hydrated. But due to many reasons I couldn’t stick to a healthy diet every day. Anyway, 3 months prior to starting ivf is ideal.

Tryin4no2 · 18/02/2020 13:42

thanks @Mischali.

For anyone who initially had an unsuccessful cycle, did your clinic do something differently the next time/ suggest changes for you? My clinic (in the UK) are not being very reassuring about making changes and I don’t have a sense as to what is usual. I’d be really grateful for any thoughts or experiences on that xxx

BeHereNowx32 · 18/02/2020 14:27

@Tryin4no2 they tried different stimulation drugs for each of my cycles. I’m sorry that I don’t remember the names of them. Everything else was the same.

CritterTamer · 18/02/2020 14:51

@Tryin4no2 - I had changes made for my second cycle. I stimulated too fast (follicles were ready for trigger after 8 days) first cycle ah they switched from menopur only to a mixture of menopur and bemfola, which gave me an extra two days of stims which is better for egg quality. They also added a month of testosterone gel prior to EC and I had an endo scratch. I also made changes of my own including acupuncture, upping protein intake and relieving (my very significant) work related stress.

Tryin4no2 · 18/02/2020 14:54

Thanks v much @BeHereNowx32 and @CritterTamer - that’s really helpful!

Mischali · 19/02/2020 04:36

@Minster2012 fx for today’s test!

Minster2012 · 19/02/2020 06:35
