Anyone waiting to start IVF/FET in 2020?

As it says on the title really! Wondering if anyone else twiddling their thumbs and wanted to keep each other company?
Me- 40, was TTC for 4 years (unexplained infertility)- short protocol in 2018- fresh transfer resulted in an ectopic pregnancy followed by a successful FET later in the year. We have 8 frosties which we hope to use in another FET starting Feb/March 2020. First consultation next month. Feels so daunting to be starting the process again! X

@Minster2012 congrats! ❤️ Such nice news.

I’m starting treatment in 3 weeks. Nervous 😬

Daisz · 19/02/2020 07:56

Just waiting for AF to start to make the call for fet treatment. This shall be my third fet after my last attempt 3 years ago resulting in my daughter who is now 2.5years. I have two fet embryos left, so hoping for another successful outcome. Good luck all!

Minster2012 · 19/02/2020 09:33

Thank you @BeHereNowx32 it will be a very nervous exciting time though!

Welcome @Daisez

Mischali · 20/02/2020 05:46

I’ve also started spotting the pink spotting I always get starting around 9dpo (today) it invariably turns light red then af. Maybe from Crinone use? Because I’m also using injectable progesterone so idk how my lining could be shedding. We’ll see! Bfn this morning 4dp5dt but tbh I would have been shocked to see a line lol.

BOBSS · 20/02/2020 06:27

Rubyredwren · 20/02/2020 08:31

@Daisz Welcome and wishing you best of luck with your upcoming cycle.

@BOBSS We will get there!

I’m currently waiting for a blood test 7 days past FET to see how things are progressing 😬

Mischali · 20/02/2020 08:45

@BOBSS hugs hun... don’t give up hope xx

@Rubyredwren are they testing for hcg at all? Because today would put you at 12dpo and hcg should in most cases already be measurable with a blood test..?

Hi and welcome @Daisz x

So you guys remember how I was approached for a new job in Jan when I started ivf... then ended up waiting and waiting for their decision... well the position was tweaked a bit in the month it took them to make the decision and this morning I went into the meeting to hear that I got it, and the way the job specifications regarding the position had changed during this month, basically means that I now have my dream job in addition to my own business. Oh and in addition to the shop we recently opened 😂. I’m sure the stress and anxiety will hit me but for now I’m on cloud 9!

Rubyredwren · 20/02/2020 16:15

@Mischali they were only testing for progesterone. Said they couldn’t test for anything else at this stage 🤷🏽‍♀️

They have just called to say that my progesterone levels are a little low so I need to up my medication to a second injection per day as well as the pessaries. They have said that doesn’t give an indication of the outcome though.... 7 more days I guess!

Congratulations on the new role! x

Tryin4no2 · 20/02/2020 18:34

Congratulations on the role @Mischali! Sounds exciting - if quite full on! I have had more of the same on the spotting front - so have accepted that tomorrow I will get a BFN - ended up bawling my eyes out to my boss today. Not my finest moment.... just want to get the test out of the way so I can end this and have a break and then focus on the next round....

Tryin4no2 · 21/02/2020 06:19

BFN as expected.....

Tryin4no2 · 21/02/2020 06:21

Did people have a normal cycle after a failed IVF or was it different? Just so I know what to expect (we would like to try naturally this month however low the chances) x

Mischali · 21/02/2020 06:34

So sorry @Tryin4no2 😥😥 lots of hugs! I haven’t had a failed ivf only a failed fet. I’d ask the nurse/dr at your clinic? Hope it’s possible for you to ttc naturally now xx and maybe the ivf drugs that are still in your system (if there are any) will make you extra fertile.

Mischali · 21/02/2020 06:38

It actually feels shitty to post on the heels of another member’s bfn... but I just wanted to keep you guys updated I got a bfp this morning.
Good luck for everyone waiting to test and waiting to start, I’m going to keep following for your outcomes and thanks for all the wonderful support over the past 2 months xx

Tryin4no2 · 21/02/2020 07:03

Congratulations @Mischali! It’s not shitty - it’s lovely news!!! 😘

Daisz · 21/02/2020 07:28

Thank you for my welcome and congratulations @Mischali. I can still remember my bfp 3 years ago. Very exciting but nerve racking at the same time. Hard to believe I am waiting to put myself through it all over again.

BeHereNowx32 · 21/02/2020 07:47

@Tryin4no2 it so unfair ☹️ I THINK that I had a normal cycle (that I can remember!). I waited 3 months between each cycle. I’m sure the clinic wanted me to have 2 periods between cycles. All the best.

@Mischali congrats. Will you get a scan at 6 weeks? Xx

Rubyredwren · 21/02/2020 07:58

@Mischali congratulations on your BFP! Fantastic news! I’m so happy for you.

@Tryin4no2 Sorry about your result. After my failed IVF, AF was longer than usual but other than that my cycle was back to normal and perhaps even more regulated. I did have one funny cycle where OPK showed 7 days of high fertility but no peak (I gave up testing in the end) I think you are fine to try naturally. You never know.

Warning, I have a TMI question for everyone... have you used progesterone pessaries and if so vaginally or rectally? My nurse advised rectally but I have read online that vaginally is best for IVF. Sorry to ask!

BeHereNowx32 · 21/02/2020 08:06

@Rubtredwren I used them vaginally. The other way sounds uncomfortable to me 😣 x

Mischali · 21/02/2020 09:19

Thanks everyone I took a fourth test with smu and it’s definitely there. Atm I’m in anxiety mode, the reality of starting a new job and having another baby just hit me hard about an hour ago!
@Rubyredwren vaginally.
@BeHereNowx32 yes I’ll get a scan between 6-8 weeks at the fertility clinic and then move on to a regular gynae.
Thanks all!

Rubyredwren · 21/02/2020 09:54

Thanks @BeHereNowx32 & @Mischali
I’m starting to freak out about the lower than desired progesterone test results. Surely my progesterone results would be higher if I had implantation which makes me think it’s going to be a negative. Is there any point in them upping my progesterone? Why can’t they just do a HCG blood test since I didn’t have the trigger shot?
Deep breathes and stay calm. I have a reiki session tomorrow to keep me relaxed.

Mischali · 21/02/2020 11:33

@Rubyredwren- it’s likely just a precaution xx Hope the reiki helps. I’m so over ivf anxiety. I saw a counselor 2 weeks ago when I had a meltdown but she only took my history for 1,5 hrs and did nothing to help me with my immediate need. I’ve scheduled an appointment with my psychiatrist for 2 March and will be going to a perinatal counselor. I know I can’t do the mental health aspects of pregnancy and changing our family unit, by myself.

AM2020 · 21/02/2020 13:05

@mischali congratulations for your news.

Take it easy and enjoy this period.

Today I have my Dr. Appointment after the failed fet. Also, booked an appointment to start accupuncture next week in preparation for the next attempt....

Good luck to everyone.

BOBSS · 23/02/2020 11:45

@Mischali that's a great news.. Congratulations.. Happy for u💕💕

CritterTamer · 23/02/2020 13:36

Congratulations @Mischali - it's great to see positive news on these threads.

@Tryin4no2 - I'm so sorry it hasn't worked this time, are you going to go straight into another attempt?

C88M · 23/02/2020 13:46

I’m new to the thread. I’ve got my teach this week for a FET. I need noristerone to induce my bleed.

I had a successful IVF cycle in September/October but it ended in a missed miscarriage picked up at the 12 week scan.

I was feeling positive but the closer it gets to starting the more I feel like it will be negative, but trying to stay positive.

Good luck to everyone else
