As it says on the title really! Wondering if anyone else twiddling their thumbs and wanted to keep each other company?
Me- 40, was TTC for 4 years (unexplained infertility)- short protocol in 2018- fresh transfer resulted in an ectopic pregnancy followed by a successful FET later in the year. We have 8 frosties which we hope to use in another FET starting Feb/March 2020. First consultation next month. Feels so daunting to be starting the process again! X

@BOBBS are you still getting hcg injections? I’m just curious as to how they will test if you are pregnant, will they do an ultrasound at all or calculate around the amount of hcg that you’ve received?
Good luck hun almost time!

Mischali · 13/02/2020 12:37

@Tryin4no2 I’ll be testing then along with you and @Minster2012... but I’ll be testing out the trigger so will be a few days behind you guys to find out. Can’t wait.

BOBSS · 13/02/2020 13:00

@Mischali thank u.. got hcg inj yesterday.. there will be blood test on 16th..n for ultrasound dey have called me on 19th..

Minster2012 · 13/02/2020 13:47

@Tryin4no2 & @Mischali. Same as me then next Friday though I’m getting more & more certain I will have to do before as I’ve just been with MIL & nephew today & we usually do things every Thursday & she’s just said next Friday instead (toddler nephew is more misery guts than my own toddler when in mood) so won’t be able to face either of them so I’m likely thinking before my day off weds 🤔

Tryin4no2 · 13/02/2020 15:05

@Mischali - the waiting is hard! I am totally attached to the idea despite having told myself that I wouldn’t let that happen.....@Minster2012 - it’s so hard to plan isn’t it? I was fearing mine would be on the Saturday when I happen to have plans to see various pregnant friends and friends with new babies... my nurse told me not to do an early test due to the progesterone supplements risking a fake positive - did anyone else get that feedback?

Mischali · 13/02/2020 15:43

Progesterone can’t give a positive hcg test. But if you had a hcg trigger it can give a false positive. That’s why I want to test early to see the positive hcg line from my trigger shot fade out... and if I get a line after that I’ll know it’s from pregnancy hcg :)

Mischali · 13/02/2020 15:44

@BOBSS ooohhh an ultrasound to look forward to!

Mischali · 13/02/2020 15:45

*in other words I’ll test daily from the 20th to see the line fade out and hopefully come back.

Minster2012 · 13/02/2020 16:32

@Tryin4no2 yes we were told not to test early definitely, told to wait the full 2 weeks but as ours was FET there’s no hcg trigger so other clinics say ppl can get bloods from 10dp5dt & do hpt from 12days. We only have option of hpt & I would still test on OTD as have to go in to clinic & get more progesterone & eastrogen on that day but it would just prepare me & allow me to cry it out on weds if BFP

Tryin4no2 · 13/02/2020 16:46

Thanks @Mischali and @Minster2012 that makes sense - I had my wires crossed! 🤞cry out won’t be needed for you (or any of us) I am terrified of taking the test. Every time I have tested on the day (it has been negative).... scared it jinxes it- which I know is ridiculous!

Rubyredwren · 13/02/2020 16:49

@Mischali South Africa might be a little bit far for me. This might sound totally stupid but until now I thought this was just a UK site. The .com should have given it away. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Had my transfer. Lovely doctor and team and we chatted all the way through. Blood test next week to see what my progesterone levels are like. They didn’t do that last time. They also gave me a pic of the scan. Now I have two weeks of progesterone injections and pessaries twice a day. Again, they didn’t do that last time.

Thanks for all the warm wishes! Finger, toes and legs crossed!

Hello all,

Had my fet few weeks ago, unfortunately it was not positive. Quite upset about it. I have a dr appointment next week to discuss next steps but not sure how to stay positive, i keep wondering if i did something wrong the first cycle...and not sure what can i do to improve my chances this time...any advice? Thank you

Mischali · 14/02/2020 07:27

Hi @AM2020. Sorry to hear about the fet :( don’t beat yourself up. Apparently most of the time when an embryo can’t implant or there is an early loss, there was a problem with the embryo eg genetic. Not your fault! We do our best and that’s all we can do. The rest is out of our control. When will your next cycle be?

AM2020 · 14/02/2020 08:03

@Mischali, I have the dr appointment next week and I assume we can start the next cycle then but I am thinking to skip one cycle to make sure all the hormons are stable and maybe my stress levels are not as high. I am also thinking to start accupuncture. Has anyone done this? Did it help? Any recommendations in London?

Thank you

BeHereNowx32 · 14/02/2020 09:38

It’s all go on here! Feel like I am completely behind with all these transfers happening!

Hope everyone in the 2ww is managing to relax.

I think that my OTD will be around 9 days after transfer. The clinic do a blood test. I have never done a test from home, but always been tempted!! (DH convinced me not to). The nurses said that the blood test is more accurate than home urine tests, so they don’t recommend using them. But I’m pretty sure they will give an accurate result as long as trigger is out system).

@AM2020 so sorry to hear about your failed FET. I do think that it is down to the types of drugs that they use at the time. I had completely different results on all 3 of my cycles (1 failed FET also).
I did eat lots of protein during stimming, which is meant to help with egg quality. I also drank pomegranate juice and raspberry leaf tea to help with lining.

Take care

@Rubyredwren how did I miss your message?? So glad the transfer went well and congrats on being pupo!!

Tryin4no2 · 15/02/2020 07:35

Really glad your transfer went well @Rubyredwren! Good luck for the 2WW!

Rubyredwren · 15/02/2020 09:58

@AM2020 I am sure there is nothing you did wrong first cycle! If you look at the stats it’s not unusual for the first time to fail. That doesn’t make it any easier though! My first time was a fail and timed up with my 40th birthday so it was a double whammy for me. You just need to take your time to process everything, don’t overthink and do things that make you happy.
I’m in my 2WW for second time after having a break for a month. 🤞🏽
I feel much better about it this time around and I know that if it doesn’t work this time, we try again.
Which part of London are you? I have a lovely acupuncturist who has a lot of fertility clients but I’m in south west London. Ask me in two weeks time if she has made a positive difference 😂

AM2020 · 15/02/2020 10:22

@Rubyredwren thank you for your message and good luck.

I know the stats, but it is hard especially when the dr. Says ..not understand why it did not work when everything was ok and with all the treatment...it makes you think...

During the transfer and after I had a very bad cough, also travelled (carrying luggage etc.) And altough I tried to take it easy and be careful is still makes me wonder..what if...
I am trying to process it, i have a long list of questions and simptoms I had during those 2 weeks to discuss with the dr.

I am not living in London but work in London, the north part of London works best for me, in terms of having the accupuncture sessions.

Best of luck to everyone

Mischali · 15/02/2020 11:53

What did you ladies do the day before transfer and the day of transfer? (Besides the day obvious keep taking meds etc)? Transfer tomorrow 9am...

Rubyredwren · 15/02/2020 13:00

@Mischali good luck for tomorrow!
I didn’t really do anything different. I went straight from work to my transfer appointment in the afternoon.
I have been drinking bone broth and taking floradix to help keep my uterine lining thick. Then just sticking to Mediterranean diet with high protein.
Will be thinking of you and sending positive vibes 💕

BOBSS · 15/02/2020 17:40

@Mischali nothing unusual..just take good night sleep..have healthy breakfast in morning..do something which will keep u positive..anything.. like exercise/prayer/meditation etc.. anything..just keep urself stress free..n go there with positive frame of mind..

Will pray for u.. Wishing baby dust to u n everyone hre💕😊

BeHereNowx32 · 15/02/2020 19:22

@Mischali before every transfer, I have went for a quick walk, while downing a bottle of water for the full bladder 😅 good luck x

Minster2012 · 15/02/2020 20:15

@Mischali day before I walked the dogs twice, had to take DS into my progesterone blood test which was stressful & in morning of transfer I walked the dogs again & when we got the call about the thaw being ok & to go in was cleaning the house 😂
After transfer went out for lunch then made dents in the sofa watching comedies 😂
Day after continued to walk dogs again but said no lifting 12kg DS for the weekend & tried to shirk it for as long as possible 🤣 (v hard!)
