Anyone waiting to start IVF/FET in 2020?

As it says on the title really! Wondering if anyone else twiddling their thumbs and wanted to keep each other company?
Me- 40, was TTC for 4 years (unexplained infertility)- short protocol in 2018- fresh transfer resulted in an ectopic pregnancy followed by a successful FET later in the year. We have 8 frosties which we hope to use in another FET starting Feb/March 2020. First consultation next month. Feels so daunting to be starting the process again! X

Good luck to everyone going through transfers recently.

@Mischali that’s great news. Just shows you that we don’t always have control of it, and we shouldn’t feel guilty with diet etc. We need to just cope anyway we can!

@CritterTamer that’s good that LP has increased a little. Sounds like the progesterone will help then. 🤞

Feline123 · 11/02/2020 12:56

Good luck all 🤞🏻

Has anyone who has had a failed ivf cycle, felt realllllly tired afterwards? It’s been about 2 weeks since I got af after ivf, but I still feel so tired, especially in the mornings!

Also I’ve decided this month is the last month I’m tracking ovulation with opks, but according to the opks (and my body!) I’m ovulating late this month....is this all normal?

Rubyredwren · 11/02/2020 14:34

@Feline123 I felt tired afterwards. I think it’s pretty normal after everything your body goes through not to mention the emotional drain. Take your time and don’t be tough on yourself. It took me a lot longer to get over than I realised. I thought I was okay but I wasn’t.
I’m afraid I can’t help on ovulation dates. I’m always day 18/19

Minster2012 · 11/02/2020 15:50

@Mischali that’s really good congrats!! Fingers crossed they fertilise well I really hate the waiting bit on those calls I actually find that the worst bit

@Feline123 sorry can’t be any help, first time to me

Mischali · 11/02/2020 16:10

@Feline123 I’ve been very fatigued. Even though your cycle was cancelled your body went through a lot, ivf means lots of medications in abnormal concentrations that the body isn’t used to, then body reacts in a way that isn’t physiologically normal, it all places immense stress on the body and uses a lot of energy. And then of course the mental and emotional exhaustion, I can imagine especially after having a cycle cancelled. I’ve ovulated late due to stress and illness before, although I obviously can’t say what’s happening with you. Hope you are ok hun x
Thinking of everyone doing stims, waiting on starting, everyone that is PUPO and tww’ing!
The support on here is great, you all are amazing. X

CritterTamer · 11/02/2020 17:17

@mischali - fab news on your EC! So far so good and fingers crossed they alll fertilise for you xxx
Having a dreadful day here - currently sat in A&E with my 8 month old baby girl after I had a little fall while carrying her and she fell on her head. Had to call an ambulance as she had a huge bump on her forehead and went all sleepy and floppy - totally terrifying! She seems ok now and they think she's fine but want her to see a consultant just to make sure. I feel like the most awful parent in the world right now 😭

Minster2012 · 11/02/2020 17:32

@critterTamer don’t feel bad at all, most parents have some story about something happening, we do. She’s fine, accidents happen don’t beat yourself up lovely xxx

Tryin4no2 · 11/02/2020 18:10

@CritterTamer - it is terrifying when it happens but unfortunately these things happen all the time - you will be feeling far worse than she is! As @Minster says, it happens to us all. Hugs. Xxx

Feline123 · 11/02/2020 19:03

@Rubyredwren thank you, that’s pretty much how I keep feeling...feeling ok, but not sure that I am if that makes sense!

@Mischali my cycle wasn’t cancelled... I had a fresh transfer but I started bleeding at 6dp5dt and then had a bfn, but thank you, what you’ve said makes sense... I think I’m over analysing everything at the moment. I got a strong positive opk today which is only about 4/5 days later than normal but just feels strange when I’m usually pretty much spot on with ovulation days!

CritterTamer · 11/02/2020 19:38

@feline123 I ovulated 5 days late the cycle after my failed IVF too, which was unheard of for me. Was back to normal the following cycle though.

Mischali · 12/02/2020 05:48

@CritterTamer so sorry to hear about the accident! Stuff like that really does happen to everyone but it sounds very scary! How is she now?

@Feline123 aaahhh ok I remember you posting about the bfn now, sorry hun x

I got good news just now! Of the 9 mature egg cells, all 9 fertilized (4 with conventional ivf and 5 with icsi). Of the immature egg cells that underwent in vitro maturation, they could work with 3 yesterday afternoon but the 9 that were already mature gets first choice for transfer. The embryologist isn’t going to disturb them again, on Sunday morning at 9 the best day 5 blast will be transferred and if there are any left then they will be frozen.
I still can’t believe the enormous difference in results compared to my ivf in 2016! This clinic is by far superior. To do split fertilization as a standard, and to do in vitro maturation of eggs (I can imagine that would be extremely beneficial if patients have few mature eggs) at a lower cost than my ivf 4 years ago. Baffling.

Minster2012 · 12/02/2020 11:08

That’s BRILLIANT @Mischali what results!! 9 so far still fantastic!! Wow! Fingers crossed for them still growing 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

CritterTamer · 12/02/2020 16:11

Great news @Mischali!

BOBSS · 12/02/2020 17:32

@Mischali congratulations.. Happy for u..💕😊

Rubyredwren · 12/02/2020 18:44

@Mischali that is fantastic! Congratulations to you!
Out of interest, would you mind sharing the name of the clinic?

Tryin4no2 · 12/02/2020 19:55

That’s fantastic news @Mischali!! Thinking good luck thoughts for them all!!

Rubyredwren · 13/02/2020 06:22

I’ve got my transfer today! Feeling a bit nervous but much better than last time. Fingers crossed! 🙏🏾🤞🏽

Mischali · 13/02/2020 06:34

@Rubyredwren all the best for today!! Stick embie stick!
My clinic is in South Africa where I live, don’t know if you would still like the name if you don’t live here? But with our Rand being quite weak, paying out of pocket for travel costs AND ivf will probably be less expensive than paying out of pocket in most European countries and the USA.

How is everyone coping in the tww? @BOBSS your test date is around the corner!
@Tryin4no2 when is your test date?

Mischali · 13/02/2020 06:35

Thanks for the good embie vibes everyone! I’m so interested to find out on Sunday how many made it to day 5, and how many of the in vitro matured eggs ended up fertilized.

Minster2012 · 13/02/2020 06:41

@Rubyredwren good luck for your transfer!! Sending sticky vibes your way!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Tryin4no2 · 13/02/2020 06:46

Good luck @Rubyredwren! Thinking of you!

Tryin4no2 · 13/02/2020 07:53

@Mischali - my test date is a week tomorrow.... 😬

BOBSS · 13/02/2020 12:19

@Rubyredwren praying for u..😊

BOBSS · 13/02/2020 12:24

@Mischali yeah it's on Sunday..passing these last 3days is getting more difficult..it's in my mind every time..
