As it says on the title really! Wondering if anyone else twiddling their thumbs and wanted to keep each other company?
Me- 40, was TTC for 4 years (unexplained infertility)- short protocol in 2018- fresh transfer resulted in an ectopic pregnancy followed by a successful FET later in the year. We have 8 frosties which we hope to use in another FET starting Feb/March 2020. First consultation next month. Feels so daunting to be starting the process again! X

@Feline123 I feel very similar to you atm. Our first ivf cycle was unfortunately cancelled last week due to severe OHSS risk. I was 2 days away from EC 😭 really whipped my world from under me as it was all I had focused on and thought about for months & months. So now I'm in limbo same as you 😢 Eagerly awaiting my withdrawal bleed (one minute you don't want to see AF, next your desperate for her to come 🙄) It's been 10 days since treatment was abandoned and all drugs stopped and I should have seen a bleed by now, but nothing 😞 so frustrating as they want me to have a few regular AFs before we can go again - so that means at least a few months wait before we can even try another cycle! I too am hating the fact that I'm wishing time away! 😢 I just want to have a solid plan of action and that's just not possible right now 😓 thinking of you @Feline123 as I know how difficult this part of the process is ❤️ big hugs x

Feline123 · 30/01/2020 13:05

@BaileyBadger4 aww thank you and big hugs to you too. I hope you’ve got people around you that can support you. I always think with bad situations, it really does make you appreciate your loved ones! I’ve took this week ‘off’ - as in, eating and drinking what I like, being as lazy as possible etc! I’m going to get back into routine next week, but I’m a firm believer in letting yourself feel sad.
Was this your first round?
I’m unexplained, but haven’t come close to a BFP in my 3 years of ttc. I’ve decided to not bother with opks in my natural cycles anymore, apart from this month...and that’s just because I want to get an idea of when to expect my period next month. I’m usually regular but I’m not sure if meds will have messed it up for next month! I was tempted to book a trip away for this time in limbo, but then we need the annual leave for more appointments 🙄
I think the worst thing for me at the moment, is this fear of ‘what if it never works’ x x

BaileyBadger4 · 30/01/2020 14:34

@Feline123 that's eerily similar to me lol I too have given myself 'time off' since finding out was cancelled. Diet has gone out the window and I've taken a bit of time off work. But I'm also back on the ball from Monday! My AF has also always been very regular, always 27/28 days but I think the drugs may have messed it all up a bit cos I'm on CD35 now with no sign of her showing.
We were also going to book a break away for this time to try to distract ourselves as this would have been the 2WW if hadn't been cancelled 😞 but OH can't get time off work at such short notice 🙄 We have however booked a holiday for April, 1 week in Tenerife so we do have that to look forward to 😊
I hope you have some nice things planned to distract you hun and keep you busy. Focusing all your attention on infertility/ivf is bloody exhausting! 🥵 lol xx

Feline123 · 30/01/2020 16:06

@BaileyBadger4 Did they tell you that it might take longer to get af? I wonder if it makes a difference because you didn’t have the transfer?
My af showed up 6dpt....so that’s worried me in itself as I’m thinking ‘why so early!!’ 🙄
Ah lovely to have a holiday booked, you can’t beat a bit of Tenerife sunshine!
Weirdly I’m in a mood of wanting to organise and sort things in the house and I just wanna get stuck into it....and I’m never normally like that lol so I’m going to make the most of that feeling and get on with it! Hopefully that will distract me for the time being! x x

Mischali · 30/01/2020 16:27

@BOBSS hoping to hear good news about your transfer x

@Feline123 and @BaileyBadger4 you both deserve some time off, hopefully your doctors can figure out the best course of action.

I’m seeing the dr tomorrow morning at 8:45 so then I’ll have a scan and get my meds. Hope he counts the antral follicles.

Mischali · 30/01/2020 16:44

@BeHereNowx32 I had a good laugh when I read your post about eating a doughnut. I had half a pack of zoo biscuits last night while working on adding the store stock to the online website. I had to start working on that after putting my toddler to bed so I needed the comfort and figured it would help with the stress we’ve been taking about! And I haven’t been eating much in any case. So I decided I deserve it. Forcing healthy food down my throat again today haha.

BaileyBadger4 · 30/01/2020 19:39

@Feline123 I actually phoned the clinic after I posted earlier as I had a couple of questions for them and I mentioned I hadn't seen a bleed at all since stopping treatment. The nurse explained that although I'd been stimming for 12 days at the time of cancellation my lining had remained very thin throughout, so apparently my body needs extra time to build back up that lining and then once it's thick enough to shed then that's when I will see AF. It makes more sense to me now and I'm less worried which is always a good thing lol so much to worry about and ponder over AT EVERY BLOODY STEP of this ivf lark 🤯 lol xx

Mischali · 31/01/2020 09:45

@BOBSS thinking of you.
I’m on cd3 and have just started the femara-antagonist protocol. It’s the most aggressive protocol, to use on ladies my age, to obtain the maximum amount of eggs available.
I already took my femara and did my injections for the day. Feeling very emotional.

Feline123 · 31/01/2020 13:17

Thank you @Mischali 😊 hope this cycle goes well for you x x

@BaileyBadger4 ah that makes sense! I’m glad that put your mind at ease....until the next worry 😜 I think you did the right thing calling the clinic to ask...my clinic always emphasise that I can call/email with questions but for some reason I rarely do! I think I’ll take a leaf out of your book from now on 😊 x x

BOBSS · 31/01/2020 13:44

@Mischali thank u so much dear..may God give u strength to bear painful injections..n will pray to God for ur successful cycle ..warm hug😘💕

Minster2012 · 31/01/2020 22:20

How are you feeling @BOBSS? Hopefully all relaxed and snuggly inside! Pregnant til proven otherwise!
1st night of pessaries and not buserelin for me so finally one week to go for me til FET. Still so long 🤦🏼‍♀️So bored of waiting I know I will be awful afterwards 😂

Rubyredwren · 01/02/2020 07:15

I had my first scan yesterday for round 2 of IVF on natural cycle FET
This was day 8 of my cycle and the scan showed 2 follicles (10mm and 12mm) and lining at 6mm.
They seemed happy with that but does anyone else know what I should be expecting here?
They have also recommended embryo glue for this transfer. Has anyone tried this or planning to?

Minster2012 · 01/02/2020 08:14

Morning @Rubyredwren, we have been advised to use embryoglue too, from what I can tell it’s vaguely useful to help increase chances a bit and has no risks so we thought why not. It’s the only thing widely advised in most NHS hospitals which is a big claim. I’ve not done a fresh cycle but we had similar numbers and your lining is better than mine & we’ve got transfer next week so all sounds goods!

CritterTamer · 01/02/2020 10:36

My clinic uses embryoglue as standard but my experience isn't all that helpful to you - two cycles so far - 1 failed and 1 successful!

@rubyredwren do you mind if I ask why they are counting follicles for a FET - surely it doesn't matter? Just interested in the process as we'll be starting a FET cycle in a couple of months.

Rubyredwren · 01/02/2020 11:28

@Minster2012 that’s good to know. We thought exactly the same thing re the embryo glue. If there are no adverse effects and it might vaguely increase chances let’s go for it.
I think I might be confused with the acronyms... ours is going to be frozen transfer. It’s the only little embryo that was left to freeze after our first attempt 🥰

Minster2012 · 01/02/2020 14:22

@Rubyredwren yes a frozen transfer is FET which is what we are doing next week, transfer on Friday. I also wonder why they are counting follicles? How far into the cycle are you? As in do you need AF to come to get rid of that lining first? If so they will be encouraged by that 6mm as they go on a lining of 7mm the week before transfer. It was mid Dec when we started our cycle so sorry it’s all a bit hazy!! Do you still need to downregulate first too? So about a month or a month and a half?

Rubyredwren · 01/02/2020 16:34

@Minster2012 @CritterTamer That’s a really good point on the follicle count. I’m not too sure but I got the impression it was just to see how things were progressing towards ovulation.
I’m not doing down regulation on this cycle, they are just going to do the transfer when I ovulate. I don’t usually ovulate until day 18 of my cycle and I was only on day 8 when they did the scan.
Next scan on Tuesday!

BeHereNowx32 · 01/02/2020 16:39

@Rubyredwren sounds like you are doing a natural cycle. I haven’t discussed this option with my clinic. Maybe something to think about next time. I know someone that had a natural FET, and it was successful.

I have read about the embryo glue. But again, not something offered or discussed with by my clinic. I would definitely go with it, if it were an option for me.

I’m not well today. Been feeling so run down. Need to get over this before everything starts!!

Rubyredwren · 01/02/2020 18:42

@BeHereNowx32 Yas, I’m doing a natural cycle this time around. Hopeful to know that you know someone who has had success natural cycle FET!
My clinic told me about the embryo glue on my first attempt but said they don’t recommend it until after one failed cycle. Not sure why? This time around they suggested it. We are definitely going to give it a go.
Not good that you are feeling run down! At least you have the weekend to relax. I’ve found taking floradix has helped me with feeling run down.

CritterTamer · 01/02/2020 19:13

Thanks @rubyredwren, that makes sense. We were going to do a natural cycle but since my cycle is so messed up after stopping breastfeeding they've agreed to do a fully medicated cycle now as I'll feel more confident. Will be a short protocol though at least so no long down regging to worry about.
I'm 1dpo today so waiting anxiously to see if I can manage a luteal phase longer than 4 days this time! At least I have a progesterone prescription waiting for me now if it happens again though.

Good luck to everybody having scans and transfers next week! @BOBSS when is your OTD?

Minster2012 · 01/02/2020 21:42

@Rubyredwren that makes sense then!

@BeHereNowx32 I hope you start to feel better, I had a rubbish week and only just feel much better now so I know what that feels like, make sure you look after yourself and rest up!

Yes @BOBSS when is your OTD & do you think you will rest early?

Mischali · 02/02/2020 06:48

@BOBSS how is the tww treating you? I hope you are taking some time to do things you enjoy and that you are feeling well.

@Rubyredwren will you be trying with intercourse (with those 2 follies) in addition to transferring the frozen embie, or are you not allowed to have sex? Just curious:) I haven’t done a natural FET.

I’m getting excited for more people to transfer so that we can start waiting for bfps :)

Just to clarify re the rules on here- are we allowed to post the results of hpts and/or betas on this thread or only on a testing thread? If we manage to do a transfer I’ll be testing out the trigger.

Minster2012 · 02/02/2020 08:12

@Mischali that made me lol! There are no rules! Yes you can put gets results here, doesn’t have to be a separate thread! It can just sometimes get a bit too big which this isn’t but personally I like to know what happens to ppl!

BeHereNowx32 · 02/02/2020 08:37

@Mischali yeah, defo post results, and then we can support each other, either way.

@Minister2012 thanks. I do actually have some Floradix lying around. Hopefully it’s in date! X

Mischali · 02/02/2020 09:22

Hehe thx @Minster2012 and @BeHereNowx32 :) I’ve seen some posters get a lot of grief from the moderators on some forums! Ok give me about 2 weeks and I’ll start posting hpt results ;)
