As it says on the title really! Wondering if anyone else twiddling their thumbs and wanted to keep each other company?
Me- 40, was TTC for 4 years (unexplained infertility)- short protocol in 2018- fresh transfer resulted in an ectopic pregnancy followed by a successful FET later in the year. We have 8 frosties which we hope to use in another FET starting Feb/March 2020. First consultation next month. Feels so daunting to be starting the process again! X

@tryin4no2 - good luck with your first set of injections today - so exciting! Our second round of ivf was successful with a fresh transfer of two embryos.

Fredsgirl19 · 26/01/2020 09:12

@Mischali it’s typical isn’t it. I always use OPKs and never had a problem but this month I didn’t get a clear positive so I have no idea. Our bodies love to play tricks with us when we need it the least!!

I just want af to arrive so I can get started. Im sure we all feel exactly the same way!

Minster2012 · 26/01/2020 11:33

@BOBSS unfortunately norovirus likely from my my sons nursery, it’s been going around here, & I git an ulcer on my eye too so currently can’t see much, just got out of hospital last night after 3 days & he’s also infected my MIL & FIL too trying to keep my hubby safe

Mischali · 26/01/2020 12:20

@Tryin4no2 yay! So exciting! You are also doing a fresh cycle if I remember correctly? Afm- our first ivf cycle (fresh) worked with one day 5 embryo transfer.

@Fredsgirl19 so we are both in limbo. Faaaaaantastic. Hope it comes on in the next day or so. I heard having orgasms can help bring on AF if she’s already on the brink- the uterine spasms can start pushing the shedding lining out. Geez that was a lot of tmi but I’m going to try it! “For Science” right!

Wow @Minster2012 that’s very hectic. At least it happened before ET but I’m sorry it had to happen at all 😫

On top of ivf, and on top of both dh and my existing businesses, we are also opening a new shop this week. It’s very exciting but also nerve wracking; a big gamble. I realized today as we were doing stock take and shop fitting that it’s most probably contributing to both of our stress and fighting. Hope it’s not what’s keeping AF away and that it will not impact ivf too much. I HAVE to get to the gym every day this week to help de-stress but oh we are so busy! I wish I could take ivf time off on a beach somewhere!

Hi guys can I join this thread please? Just had our first IVF cycle cancelled on Monday due to OHSS risk. Feeling quite low about it atm as was due for egg collection this week. Now just patiently waiting on AF to arrive so we can think about moving forward again. Our cycle was cancelled on day 12 of stims due to too many follicles. Definitely want to be starting our little family this year!
(Age 33 and TTC 4 years) xx

BaileyBadger4 · 26/01/2020 13:05

Hi @Minster2012 I recognise you from the other MN thread 👋😊 xx

Rubyredwren · 26/01/2020 16:27

Friday was the first day of my cycle so I’ve got an appointment with the clinic on Friday 31st to start the process for FET on natural cycle.
First attempt of IVF with fresh transfer Of 2 x 5 day blastos was in November.
Fingers crossed for this one!

Tryin4no2 · 26/01/2020 19:36

@BaileyBadger4 so sorry to hear you had your cycle cancelled - that’s really tough. I heard that the first round can sometimes be a bit of a test run so I’m sure the next one will go much better but it’s still hard to take. Hang in there xx

BeHereNowx32 · 27/01/2020 08:52

@BaileyBadger4 so sorry that your round was cancelled. It’s so disheartening, when everything you go through is tough enough already. My second fresh cycle was cut short due to risk of OHSS. My follicles were still small, but I had high oestrogen level. They still went ahead with egg collection, and we managed one transfer. But the whole process felt like a failure. It really really hit me hard. I hope that you have enough time to collect your thoughts, without waiting too long x

BeHereNowx32 · 27/01/2020 08:53

@Mischali sounds like you’re going through a lot. Try not to put so much pressure on yourself! Only go to the gym if you manage/ feel like it

Mischali · 27/01/2020 13:06

Hi @BaileyBadger4 so sorry to hear your cycle got cancelled. Hopefully they can tweak your meds and get a better result next time.

@Rubyredwren that’s exciting!

@BeHereNowx32 whoo yes I’m exhausted. The gym is to help with stress etc so I hope I can fit in some time for that.

Well I’ve finally started spotting so cd1 should be here in the next day or so. I have to go for a scan and start meds on cd3, so this week sometime.

Minster2012 · 27/01/2020 14:01

Hi @BaileyBadger4!
How is everyone getting on? @BOBSS when is your next scan now?
My scan on weds to see how lining doing and hopefully get FET booked in for next weds though still having lots of problems with my eye which is very bad, corneal scrapings and all this morning so feeling very low right now not really able to see or move much 😕

Tryin4no2 · 28/01/2020 07:41

Thanks @CritterTamer and @Mischali, and hope the waiting Is over soon @Mischali and @Fredsgirl19.
Hope you feel much better soon @Minster2012

CritterTamer · 28/01/2020 09:38

I am off to my clinic today for a consultation to see whether my new post breastfeeding 4 day luteal phase is going to prevent us from doing our FET in a few months - fingers crossed 🤞

Lemongrass1 · 28/01/2020 09:51

@CritterTamer Am on long protocol medicated FET so 2 weeks of downreg starting D21, 2 weeks of oestrogen tabs then finally add progesterone for last 1 week before ET. Takes ages!

@Mischali Feb AF is due second half of Feb so prob looking at an early April transfer. Hope your new shop opening goes well and AF comes soon. Hate waiting for AF! Always late when you want it early and early when you want it on time 😬

@Minster2012 hope you are feeling better soon. Sounds like you’ve had a rough time

@BeHereNowx32 when are you starting your FET?

@Fredsgirl19 and @BaileyBadger4- hope AF comes soon for you guys too so you can move forwards

Sorry if I’ve missed anyone out, this thread is so busy now!

Am currently on hols to try relax before starting the fertility race again. Although typically I’m spending a large part of it googling success rates and other such nonsense 🤣

BeHereNowx32 · 28/01/2020 10:20

@CritterTamer good luck!!

@Lemongrass1 I’m waiting for my period to start in February (won’t be for another 3 weeks!). Don’t think there’s any chance of a break with ivf. It consumes your every thought 🙈 are you going out today?

Has anyone been taking vitamins for FET?! I have been taking wellwoman tablets when I remember (and folic acid). But I feel that because my eggs are already out of my body, there’s isn’t much a I can do... open to tips though! X

Minster2012 · 28/01/2020 11:41

@BeHereNowx32 thank you, starting to feel a bit better, can see a little bit now!

I’m taking multivitamins & folic acid and lots of fruit & veg

Mercy87 · 28/01/2020 13:58

Hi everyone, had EC yesterday and just found out this morning 9 have fertilised so feeling OK but now agonising wait to see how many make it to day 5 - anyone else have stats to share? I've read about 30-50% reach day 5: is that true in anyone here's experience?

@BaileyBadger4 really sorry to hear about your cancelled cycle: found out yesterday they won't do fresh transfer for risk of OHSS so got to wait till the end of March for a FET (if we have anything to transfer). I know in the grand scheme of all the waiting 2 more months isn't a lot but I'd (foolishly) thought things were finally happening only for them to now pause again.

Good luck everyone!

CritterTamer · 28/01/2020 14:29

Welcome @mercy87, and congrats on your 9 embryos. 30-50% sounds about right. My last cycle I had 11 fertilised embryos, 7 of which made it to day 5/6, but only 4 were good quality so transferred two and froze two. The cycle before thati only had 6 embryos, 4 made it to day 5 but only two were good enough quality to use.

Lemongrass1 · 28/01/2020 14:54

@Mercy87 we had 80% of our embryos make it to day 5 and all were suitable for transfer & freeze. Hope it’s good news for you in a few days time. X

Lemongrass1 · 28/01/2020 15:10

@BeHereNowx32 - AF due for me in about 3 weeks too! We can be on AF wait together 🤣 Im only taking folic acid and vit D (when I remember to take it). Took loads of stuff for last FET but am rather dubious it made any difference

@CritterTamer how did your appt go?

OP posts:
BeHereNowx32 · 28/01/2020 17:06

@Mercy87 9 fertilised eggs is amazing. I’ve never had that many. The highest we have had is 8 eggs collected, 6 fertilised, one transferred and 2 left to freeze. Good luck for the next stage.

@Lemongrass1 oh that’s good to have a buddy! How are you feeling? I’m getting nervous! Haven’t been thinking about it much and my diet etc has been awful...

Rubyredwren · 28/01/2020 18:21

@Mercy87 That is a great result! I had 10 collected, 5 fertilised, 3 made it to 5 days. Had 2 implanted and 1 frozen.
The two implanted didn’t work but fingers crossed for this frozen one!

@Mischali hopefully AF has arrived and you will be in for that scan soon!

I’m starting to feel nervous...

CritterTamer · 28/01/2020 19:37

@Lemongrass1 it was ok. The consultant isn't too worried about the four day LP, said she's seen that before after breastfeeding and thinks it will sort itself out after a few cycles she did give me a prescription for progesterone pessaries which I'll use next month if I get another really short LP on this cycle. I want to be certain they will hold off AF fit long enough before we risk wasting an embryo in May. She's agreed that will do a fully medicated cycle if I feel more confident or if the cycles don't regulate by then, and has also agreed to do another endo scratch even though last timei was there she said it's not something they normally offer any more, so all in all I'm feeling less stressed out now 😊
Hope you're enjoying your holiday - try to stay away from Google! 🤣🤣🤣

Mischali · 28/01/2020 20:37

@Lemongrass1 I will be checking in on you, @BeHereNowx32 and all the other ladies who have to wait a month or two, or three, before FET or IVF! Enjoy your holiday:)

@CritterTamer that’s good that your consultant is not concerned with your cycles. Fx it gets sorted out soon. Did you have a discussion about a fully medicated cycle or won’t it be necessary?

@Mercy87 wow that’s a great number! I had 9 retrieved with my previous ivf (only one functional ovary), 4 fertilized, 2 made it to blastocyst, the other made it to day 5 but was still a morula so developing too slowly, we ended up not using it. And that was at age 34, my eggs have aged 4 years since then:(

@Rubyredwren I’m also nervous. Af started today but after 5pm so I’m not sure if they’ll call tomorrow cd1 then. Will find out tomorrow. So I’m cycle buddies with you and @Tryin4no2 so far; @Fredsgirl19 hope yours also starts sooooon!
