IVF Stimulation day 4 Follicles not growing

Hello,
I have my day 4 stimulation (day 6 after period) scan and blood test for IVF. My estradiol was 85 pm/mL and had 6 follicles that are below 6mm in size and appears that i am not responding. I am on 225 of menopur and 225 bemfola!
I have another scan in 2 days but i am really really disappointed, scared and worried that all is lost! Is there something to do to help follicles grow? Is it anything that i might been doing wrong? Is there chance of me responding? Anyone else in a similar situation or have any advice would be really appreciated!

Have they changed your dose?
I didn't get scanned until day 7 and not much was happening at that point, still got 15 eggs, it's early days

A slow responder or a non at all! I hope the cycle is not going to be cancelled. And i hope my follicles will grow!

Hi @poupou I feel your disappointment and frustration, I didn't stim well in October. Do you know your AMH? I Can't make it better, but thought I would say, having had my follow up with my consultant this week, she seemed quite positive that I could achieve a better result in my next cycle so hang in there. At the time It felt like it was the end of the road and very difficult to cope with when you're so hyped. In terms of what to do - I have seen hot water bottles and drink plenty. I would also question why they're not increasing your menopur on your next appt too. Good luck. X

My amh was 3.8 and low i wasnt expecting to produce many follicles but i am worried that are not growing at all! Also two months ago i had 10 follicles at a scan and this time only six?
I will question about increase of dose thank you @WorriedButterfly!

I guess it depends on lots of factors (& I'm no doctor!) but my first round AMH 3.9 4x follies, 3 eggs, 1 MMC 7wks later but I was in 450 menopur. I was at size by day 7. They dropped it to 375 menopur and very little activity, until day 12. I am back on 450 menopur for my Cycle later this month, and also a steroid that helps absorption. I am just under 6ft tho, and I think size/weight does come into dosage. My AMH has dropped to 1.3 😞 since December last year ! X

Lots of water and protein are supposed to help
They may just stim you for longer to get up to the required size

I didnt start responding until day 12/13.
I ended up with 38 eggs, OHSS and a beautiful baby boy.

Its only day 4... you not out yet.

Day 4 is very early, I had my first scan at day 7. There is definitely capacity to increase your dosage, I was on 300IU of stims (but I don’t know to what extent BMI comes into it - a little I expect). I have heard of some being on doses as high as 450IU.

I also had a ‘late surge’ as they collected 15 eggs from 15 follicles and after the first scan I think there were only 7 >6mm, by the EC just over a week later things had changed! I even had more follicles than showed up on my last scan (12)

However only 2 ultimately made it to blastocyst so I’m certainly of the mindset that it’s quality over quantity.

Due to the low AMH the low number of follicles is what is expected @WorriedButterfly! I will definitely ask to increase the dose fingers crossed there would be something going on!
I am so so sorry about your MMC. But i hope this time is the one! I read about a lot of other stories with low AMH that they had a success so please do be positive!
I am Also on dexamethasome as well. I dont seem to have any side effects from
Stimulation at all but it appears i am not responding! Was thinking to go to the gym to just walk on the treadmill as it might help me calm down but i dont know whether it would be worse for my follicles or not!

Mine didn’t grow at a steady rate. There were concerns on day 8 so they gave me an extra appointment on day 9. Around 25 hours later things had come on quite a bit and they were a lot happier. Ended up doing egg retrieval early as l more than caught up in the end. There is still plenty if time for you. Extra protein and water helps apparently

Had my scan today! They can not increase the doses as i am on combination of bemfola and menopur 450! The three on right ovary started to respond but very slow and still at 8 mm. On the left ovary nothing is happening and it appears there are only two very very small (instead of three that they said at the previous scan - my follicles are disappearing)! Fingers crossed all will
Catch up and grow! I asked whether there is a chance of more follicles developing and they said no! So low chances with very few follicles but i hope those will grown and develop. So so stressful!

@poupou what day of stims are you on now? I stimmed for 12 days in the end.

Keep going, keep doing the meds and try and not overthink it - it’ll all you can do.

And good excuse to eat well I think!

Hi, @Youngatheart00! I am on the 6th day of stimulation basically today is the 6th (tonight i will do my 6th set of injections) hence i only did 5 days of injections. The doctor said that its still early but they should have grown more. But there is a small response and my lining is increasing as well so slowly there is an improvement!

Focus on those small gains and keep going

Had another scan today! Day 8 stimulation and day 10 Overall!
Things are improving but not as they should and i am very very stressed! Lining is increasing from 4 to 6. RIGHT ovary from
3 follicles at 8, 7 and 6 mm now has 6: 10, 9, 8 and 6 and 6. LEFT had 2 below 6 mm and now has one at 9 mm and one still below 6. Still hasnt started cetrodite and they are concerns that the cycle might be cancelled as they are growing but they should have been above 14 mm by today. Any thoughts?
