IVF Stimulation day 4 Follicles not growing

Hello,
I have my day 4 stimulation (day 6 after period) scan and blood test for IVF. My estradiol was 85 pm/mL and had 6 follicles that are below 6mm in size and appears that i am not responding. I am on 225 of menopur and 225 bemfola!
I have another scan in 2 days but i am really really disappointed, scared and worried that all is lost! Is there something to do to help follicles grow? Is it anything that i might been doing wrong? Is there chance of me responding? Anyone else in a similar situation or have any advice would be really appreciated!

@poupou keep your chin up love, there's still time (I stimmed for 13 days) you're growing and you've got ok numbers, you've got 4 that could get to size & there isn't one that's rocketed off on its own. It is so hard. Sending positivity x

poupou · 14/11/2019 10:22

Thanks @WorriedButterfly! I am
Improving but i am very concerned about cancelation. Hopefully they wont cancel and they will Stimulate me for longer beyond 12 days.

They can stimulate you for more than 12 days if you’re responding slowly. I had one cycle where I stimmed for 21 days and on my “best” cycle, I only stimmed for 17 days.

If you’re not responding they may consider cancelling but if you’re slow to respond they can just give you stims for longer. It’s shit though and I well remember that awful sinking panicked feeling that you’re never going to get to egg collection. Good luck.

poupou · 14/11/2019 22:08

Thank you @EarlGreyT! It all lies on what the doctors will decide! They instructed me to start cetrotide tmr to stop ovulation as my oestradiol increased from 233 to 733. It appears that i am responding but slowly and hopefully they will keep on stimulating me beyond the 12th day and give my few follicles a chance!
I am terrified and extremely worried! This is the only thing that i can think off and today i had a terrible Day at work! Never thought that i will be in a toilet crying but hey there is always a first for everything! Have the next scan on Saturday so i am just hoping!

Hi @poupou hoping your next scan shows some growth.
Just wanted to say that my first cycle was cancelled, and though I haven't had success yet, with a different protocol I've got to egg collection twice.
@EarlGreyT that is a long time on stims but good that clinic would do it. My NHS clinic choose egg collection date at the start of the cycle and work backwards, so won't adjust number of days stimmed at all. It saddens me that they are so one size fits all when a few extra days of stims could make the difference (not to mention a waste of the money they invest if they don't give everyone the best chance).

poupou · 14/11/2019 23:34

Hello @JeNeBaguetteRien!
I hope there would be some
Growth as well as apparently Monday they will decide about possible cancelation or not. This depends on the doctors and what they think! It appears that there is an improvement but we will see! Fingers crossed!

Inagree completely about the nhs with you @JeNeBaguetteRien! As each person is different and could react differently! I hope it would work for both of us

How did it go today @poupou, I hope they made it.🤞🏼

poupou · 17/11/2019 12:02

Hello @WorriedButterfly! Thank you so much for asking! It appears that i am responding! It was the first ok result of the cycle apparently. My lining went from 6 to 11 and it was trilayer so that is very good. Follicles wise they appear to be commitment in growing but still not out of danger of cancelation. Right ovary: from sizes 10, 9, 8, 8,

Great news. Thanks for the update

JeNeBaguetteRien · 17/11/2019 21:48

Good luck for tomorrow @poupou
Really hoping they can go ahead, some of those sound promising.
It's such a rollercoaster Flowers

poupou · 17/11/2019 22:01

Thank you both @EL8888 @JeNeBaguetteRien! I really hope it will
Progress!

Things are not so good today! Oestradiol is 2600 and quite high and follicles didnt grow as they should have done.
From 14, 12, 12, 12, 11 , 9 and 8 mm they grow s bit but very minimal to 15, 14, 13, 12, 12, 11, 9. I am so so worried snd i think this is not good. The doctor said that its very slow we however see a response and they are all catching up. But i am So scared of cancelation still and i dont see how is this going to improve! Any thoughts anyone?

Youngatheart00 · 18/11/2019 18:37

Have they given you a new target collection date? I think they need just one at 18+ so fingers crossed you will get there. Plenty of protein and water!!!!

poupou · 18/11/2019 19:09

Hi @Youngatheart00! No they havent they are just taking it day by day. They are progressing slowly but they are. I am
Very worried that its 12 day stimulation and oestradiol is 2600 pm/ml. I hope they will
Continue for two or three more days as all
Of them Start to catch up! Its so exhausting and i am so devastated by the constant stress. Water, hot water bottle and protein doing that and appeared to work up tor the weekend. I am
Hoping and many many thanks for responding

Just an update they dont think that they will
Cancel the cycle as follicles are growing but very very slowly. Now 5 are between 13-16 and 2 at 12 and 10 mm. Ans there is a new one at 8 mm. They will Trigger either today or next two days depending what the doctors will decide. I hope they will grow more as its too early to trigger. They told me that they wont advice to go with a fresh transfer (it seems so far fetch to me that stage as i try to take it a day at the time) as they are stimulating me for long and the conditions wont be good! I am on my 13th day of stimulation (tonight the 13th set of injections)! Anyone had stimulate for longer as i hope it would be for two more days hence 15 days? And how did it go? @EarlGreyT i think you said that you did for 17 days?

Youngatheart00 · 19/11/2019 12:55

That’s great news that it looks like your cycle will go ahead! Freezing is a good option to give your body time to recover. I can’t give any advice on the extended stimming, but I stimmed for 13 days. At least the end of injections is nigh!!

Ambivert · 19/11/2019 13:52

No advice, just wanted to say I’m rooting for you!!!! Xxx ❤️

JeNeBaguetteRien · 19/11/2019 13:54

Oh that sounds promising that they will go ahead.
I've never done extended stims as my UK clinic everything was very rigid.
But even though my first cycle was cancelled I've gone on to have egg collection twice after. Hoping for a few juicy eggs for you OP 🤞🤞

poupou · 19/11/2019 13:55

Thank you both so much! It helps massively @Ambivert and @Youngatheart00 !

Thank you so so much @JeNeBaguetteRien!
I am hoping too!

OP posts:
WorriedButterfly · 20/11/2019 07:17

@poupou I had stims for 14 days, I feel for you, it's not nice, time moved so slowly too.

They wouldn't be continuing if you weren't still in with a chance so try to stay positive. I should think you're due a break after the last two weeks so a FET will give you some time out. Keeping everything crossed for you!

I am just getting ready for my BL scan this morning. X

poupou · 20/11/2019 07:32

Thank you @WorriedButterfly !!!! Best of luck with your scan!!!! Sending positive vibes!

I stimmed for 17 days. I started on 19th Sep and EC was 10th Oct. There was a few days of coasting in that as well.
I ended up with 38 eggs. (I egg shared) this cycle was successful.

EarlGreyT · 20/11/2019 14:20

@poupou my best was 17 days. Every other cycle I stimmed for longer. My worst was 21 days.

Hope you’re doing ok.
