For anyone who is taking clomid for whatever fertility reason.

I'll do some tagging later!

Ah, hope you feel better. Everyone seems to be ill at the moment! Perhaps cramps could be a good sign. 🤞🏻

Goingbacktokansascity · 12/11/2019 09:10

@bonton I would love for them to be but evidence suggests not in my case ☹️ TWW is a bitch isn’t it, earliest I can test is 16th but gonna try and hold off 🤞🏽 (Probably won’t though)

BonTon · 12/11/2019 10:39

Ok. Well, good luck when it comes round.

Does anyone know much about low TSH levels? I’ve had it tested twice - once was in the normal range (0.6) and the other was lower than normal (0.05). I don’t think the hospital have seen the lower than normal result, as I had it done privately earlier this year. I’m going to flag it to them when I go to my scan appointment on Friday but just wondering if anyone has any info on the impact of low TSH and whether it could impact pregnancy outcome in ovulation induction... thanks!

CharlotteCx · 12/11/2019 11:28

Had my blood results back and I ovulated again ☺️ .. results were 38.5 so let's hope I caught this month 🤞🏻

Good news @CharlotteCx

DobbieFreeElf · 12/11/2019 18:53

Hi everyone, I haven't been around for a while, thought I'd say hi and give a little update.

So I went for my initial IVF consultation this morning, can't say it was the best experience ever, but positives are that all looks ok internally and I've got plenty of egg reserves.

BMI is currently 27, she was pretty rude about that and told me I needed to work on it (she had my notes in front of her that showed my bmi in January was nearly 29 so surely she could see I've been losing weight steadily...) didn't really take into account that I play sport most days and do strength training, I'm a size 12 and was only ever once lighter than I am now, for my wedding!

TSH was 2.64 when tested in Jan, I had to get another one today as anything above 2.5 can be a higher risk of miscarriage, never heard this before but results from the test today should be in tomorrow so fingers crossed it's under 2.5.

For those that are interested in opks. I had my peak opk yesterday morning and on the internal scan today she said I have one 20mm and one 16mm follicle, both look ready to go, so interestingly this was 24 hours after a positive opk, I had always erred toward ovulation happening more toward the 12hrs post positive opk so interesting that it does take longer! Will be BDing for a few more days yet.

Husband's sperm count of 11mill and 16mill from earlier this year have made her think we might need ICSI rather than IVF but we might get away with IVF, they can decide this when hubby gives his soldiers over.

So unless I fall preggers before we will probably be starting IVF in Jan...

Goingbacktokansascity · 12/11/2019 18:56

@DobbieFreeElf amazing news about the egg reserves! Frustrating about the BMI especially as it’s probably muscle mass 🤷🏽‍♀️ Fingers crossed for lots of DTD over the next few days and a positive test and that the cost of consultation and tests will have been a waste 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

DobbieFreeElf · 12/11/2019 19:30

@Goingbacktokansascity I mean there's probably some fatty bits but I'm pretty proud of how I'm looking at the moment! Plus she weighed me wearing clothes, obviously my jeans must weigh a lot! Bugger it!

I know, I keep thinking I've still got a couple of goes and if I've wasted a few hundred quid then that's a small price to pay!

seven201 · 12/11/2019 21:26

@DobbieFreeElf more or less snap! I had my ivf consultation yesterday afternoon. Also probably starting in jan or Feb. I haven't had my amh results in yet. Went and had a chlamydia swab this eve - oh the joys! My BMI is 25.7 I think so hoping to get that down a little before ivf. I've got polycystic ovaries so she gave me a talking to about not eating carbs and sugar.

It's so useful just seeing a doctor who goes through everything in detail. I had no idea that my blood tests (that I had done months ago elsewhere) showed I have borderline thyroid problems (not good for ttc) and also that I have a septate uterus (a division in my uterus) that a doctor noted down after surgery but didn't mention (useful to know for pregnancy reasons, doesn't affect ttc).

And fingers crossed for your tsh results and DH's swimmers

@Goingbacktokansascity I feel your pain. I've had a bad cold for over a week now and tonight it seems to have turned into sinusitis. Hope you feel better soon.

Sounds like good news all round, ladies! X

Goingbacktokansascity · 13/11/2019 07:08

@DobbieFreeElf lesson here is next time strip down to be weighed, absolutely starkers.

@seven201 such great news too.

I hope both of you have wasted your money: when I had DS we had spent about £1000 going to different clinics for consultations, private bloods etc etc and best waste of money ever. Unfortunately because it’s a year ago we can’t use any of the consultations or results so will have to do it all again

seven201 · 13/11/2019 10:59

@Goingbacktokansascity wonderful plan. I might keep my pants on though Wink

Yep, I've had most of the tests before but am having them all again. Never had my AMH done before though so I hope that ones ok 🤞. I'm going to get my gp to do some of them so it doesn't bankrupt us before the actual treatment starts. Some of it is annoying though eg my husband can't have an nhs semen analysis, the clinic want it done in house so will be £170. Same with hiv and hepatitis blood tests - we both need those and has to be done by them, so that will be £340! It all starts adding up really quickly! And then there's all sorts of package deals to chose from. It's like going holiday shopping where they keep adding on added extras like bag allowance, transfers etc and suddenly you're massively over budget!

DobbieFreeElf · 13/11/2019 15:57

@seven201 the next thing they did was shove a dildo can up me, no pants needed for that!

Goingbacktokansascity · 13/11/2019 19:34

This month is going so slowly, I really want to jump the gun and start the ball with IVF but DH says to wait and hope on letrozole working again. I know he’s completely sensible but this waiting and wondering and hoping and disappointment is brutal. I also still have a cold so am in full on self-pity mode.

Any good Netflix/amazon prime recommendations to get me through the evenings without just doing article searches on fertstert about letrozole and fertility 😂

carleygh · 13/11/2019 20:08

@CharlotteCx that's great news fingers crossed for you.

I'm starting to get so frustrated as no signs of ovulation and it should of been today (I've done clear blue ovulation tests to actually see when it comes) I'm just so confused when I must ovulate as every time for the past six months all tests have showed negative but two blood tests showed I have. What does everyone think? When do they ovulate? My cycle lengths are all over 26, 28, 25 and 27 are the lengths of my last four cycles x

BonTon · 13/11/2019 22:28

On clomid, each time I ovulated 2 weeks before my period came and 15 days after the last tablet. Have you got the clear blue sticks that pick up oestrogen as well - have you seen a flashing smiley face yet?

carleygh · 14/11/2019 07:33

Hi @BonTon thank you for replying.

My periods are so short and this months one was a funny one so I never know how to judge it. The hospital and also the Flo app say I should of ovulated yesterday - my period was on the 2nd so that would only be 11 days after? She told me to do the ovulation tests from Sunday and do it for this week to see. I have the clear blue flashing face ones but am yet to see something different to the black circle Hmm I've read so many different things online about when my ovulation date would be as my cycles are such different lengths all the time. I'm sure this is how I'm missing my fertile period, it's my 6th and last round on Clomid now so just want to make sure I'm doing everything I can x

BonTon · 14/11/2019 08:13

I guess day 11 may make sense if your cycles are shorter... mine were 30 - 32 days on clomid. Will the hospital give you a trigger shot? That’s how I knew I would ovulate in the next day or so...

Goingbacktokansascity · 14/11/2019 08:21

@carleygh whenever I’m unsure I go and get a private fertility scan and they can see the size of the follicle and estimate ovulation although if you’re doing everything you can 😉 every second day or so you should definitely catch it. I wouldn’t think day 11 is too early

carleygh · 14/11/2019 09:09

@Goingbacktokansascity @BonTon
Thank you.... definitely doing all I can Winkso fingers crossed.

They have not mentioned a trigger shot but I guess it is to late now... they've mentioned a hormone injection as the next step so unsure about that until my next review next month.... it's just so strange my cycle lengths are all over the show.

Goingbacktokansascity · 14/11/2019 11:36

BFN at 8 DPO (OBVIOUSLY) someone needs to hide my tests. I justified it because I’m going on a weekend away and will be drinking, I think I’ll try hold off for testing until Monday 🤯

BonTon · 14/11/2019 12:11

Ah dear.... As you say, could be too early - take another one just before you start drinking is what I would do!

Chichz · 14/11/2019 17:53

@BonTon That's really interesting about your 30+ day cycles on Clomid - do you know if you ovulated those months?

The reason I'm asking is that I will be Clomid CD28 on Saturday and as I'm pretty sure I won't get a period, I was going to start my next round on Wednesday at the latest. However, you're making me wonder if I should leave if a bit longer?

I thought Clomid gave you a 28 day cycle when it worked, so if I didn't come on then, that would be it!
