@Sylva123 ahh! I would of thought they'd of waited to see if the first cycle of Clomid made you ovulate and then if not increase your dosage! But every borough works differently!

I was ovulating but not regularly at all - I could always tell when I'd ovulated naturally because my boobs would kill before AF, and when I didn't ovulate I would just come on without any signs but I'd have a longer cycle. When I ovulated I'd have a 33-35 day cycle. But the last time naturally was May. Then I started Clomid in October. I also had low progesterone, when I had my bloods done my progesterone come back at an eye watering 1.9 and 2.9 😣 but since taking the clomid my progesterone has shot up loads! And Iv ovulated every cycle just not fallen pregnant yet. Now on 3rd cycle.

Sylva123 · 28/11/2019 17:17

@CharlotteCx oh wow so it's made a huge difference for you then. Are they giving you 3 or 6 goes on it?
They've said 3 for me. I was also surprised they went straight in at 100mg, trigger shot & progesterone for me without trying just a normal month of Clomid first, but I'm going with it and hoping for the best.
I hope this is the cycle for you! Sounds like your body is in a really good place for it to happen now, with the progesterone etc.

CharlotteCx · 28/11/2019 17:48

@Sylva123 yeah it really has! The first month on it my progesterone was 61.7 and second was 38.5. I was abit disheartened that they was 38.5 as it was a lot lower than the first month but then kicked myself as I thought why the hell are you moaning atleast you've ovulated!!! You always want more though don't you, well I do lol.

Yeah I'm suprised at that! Cos they also normally start you off at the lower dose of 50mg too. Iv got 7 months in total so 5 months left after this one so still early days for me. I think the reason I haven't fallen the last two months is simply not enough sex. So this month we'll be putting in 110% effort.

What was your progesterone levels? I hope it all works out for you hun.

CharlotteCx · 28/11/2019 17:49

4 months left sorry, obvs can't count 🤣

Sylva123 · 28/11/2019 18:44

@CharlotteCx my progesterone has been 7, 9 and 21 so a bit all over the place but never over 30 which I think is the magic number!
Great that you have 7 months on it. It sounds like it's done the trick and it's just a matter of time now! Frequency of sex is really quite challenging for us too, which makes me really sad.

CharlotteCx · 28/11/2019 18:50

Oh so yours were higher than mine! 30 sure is the magic number so it seems lol. Yeah Clomid seems to be doing its job for me but as I say we just haven't had enough sex which is annoying due to work commitments etc. But as I say this month we're going for it.

Do you also find it hard to get a lot of sex in too then?

CharlotteCx · 28/11/2019 20:18

I'm out with OH at the pub having a few! It feels good! No guilt this end 🤣😉

carleygh · 28/11/2019 21:30

Good on you @CharlotteCx I don't blame you! Yes definitely next steps just irritating me that it won't be till next time as I would be half way through my cycle when I get my next appointment 😂 never mind...

carleygh · 28/11/2019 21:31

@Sylva123 have they said what your next steps are after Clomid and trigger shots? X

CharlotteCx · 28/11/2019 21:37

@carleygh Aw I know, it's all such a long waiting game 😞 .. why can't we be one of these lady's that think .. oh I'm 5 days late on my period better do a test and it be positive!!! Wishful thinking eh?

Chichz · 29/11/2019 06:59

I have been in a FOUL mood this past 36 hours or so! Just finished Clomid yesterday so presuming it's something to do with the medication. Anyone else turned into a bloody moody bugger too? AngryGrin No night sweats this time at least, though had a pretty vivid dream last night about my handbag being stolen in Spain haha. X

Goingbacktokansascity · 29/11/2019 08:22

I’m cycle day 4 today @Chichz and I’m feeling grumpy but I really think it’s due to wanting to have been pregnant by Christmas. I’m feeling quite angry at everyone 🤯
I also have had such a short period this month and very light flow, quite unusual for me. Atleast my ovusense has arrived and I’m going to start using it tonight if I have no more bleeding today.

Sylva123 · 29/11/2019 08:37

@CharlotteCx yes, we're alright during the fertile window but then there's a definite sex drought the rest of the month, and I've read that's not great for fertility.

@Chichz

@carleygh yes they're trying me on letrozole next month instead of Clomid and then if we've had no joy by February it's IVF unfortunately. What about you?

Sylva123 · 29/11/2019 08:40

@Chichz yes I'm so with you on the mood thing. I've been grumpy and now just feel sad & I genuinely don't know if it's the clomid or just feeling so done with this whole thing. Weird about your dream - I've been having scary nightmares and woke up screaming the other night!

Sylva123 · 29/11/2019 08:49

@Goingbacktokansascity I can't remember if you're having cycle monitoring scans but just wanted to say that short/light period could suggest your lining is thinning which happens to some people with clomid. Nothing to panic about (you can still get pregnant and it doesn't thicken back up, so don't worry) but they switched me to letrozole because of this.
Just wanted to flag in case it's the same for you, but not to cause any worry

Sylva123 · 29/11/2019 08:51

@Goingbacktokansascity also forgot to say I use Ovusense and absolutely love it. It's so brilliant I wish I'd got it earlier. I type my temperatures into my glow app cos I'm not convinced by the Ovusense app and that way I get two algorithms telling me when they think I've ovulated!!

Sylva123 · 29/11/2019 08:55

Omg sorry for all the posts but I meant the lining DOES thicken back up. (Wish there was an edit post button!)

CharlotteCx · 29/11/2019 08:58

@Sylva123 that's so frustrating 😟 .. yeah cos the man isn't meant to leave it to long between intercourse are they. We're the opposite we're fine during the month and as soon as oh knows I'm coming into my fertile window he freaks out! Last night we tried 3 times and he just couldn't finish. I went mental 🙈🙈. But I changed my ovia because I had the day of my spotting as 1st day of cycle but it's not is it so I'm actually CD 9 today and fertile window opens tomorrow. Opk still a flashing smiley too. I feel terrible on OH but I just think what's the point of me taking Clomid if when the most crucial time we need to dtd he can't perform cos of pressure. 😞

Sylva123 · 29/11/2019 09:16

@CharlotteCx it's so awful isn't it. We also had a massive falling out last night and I was in tears over it. All this time TTC, then we finally get the clomid and a bit of hope and then the trigger shot and... Sex is pressured and we fall out :-(
We did manage to have sex eventually but I was so stressed and upset I feel like it's set us back.

You're absolutely fine at CD9 though - what a relief. You've got lots of days ahead of you and they do say every other day is ok til you get a positive opk, so last night doesn't matter. Hope you're able to find a way for it not to feel so pressured. I don't know the answer but it's bloody horrible.

I know it's not fair but I think "I'm having all these tests, being prodded and poked, eating weird food and vitamins, taking all these tablets... All you have to do is have sex with me!" But I understand it's really a lot of pressure for them and it's not nice to have to perform on demand like that

Goingbacktokansascity · 29/11/2019 09:18

@Sylva123 I’m on letrozole 😌 and my lining was good last measured about 12mm. Great idea about typing the temp into the different apps. I use flow and Femometer too so hopefully they’ll all be consistent

Sylva123 · 29/11/2019 09:29

@goingbacktokansascity oh that's good then! It might have been you that told me about letrozole in the first place!!

Ovusense put my ovulation at day 16 last month and glow put it at day 14. I have no idea which one is right! I love that I can trust the Ovusense temps though, as I always messed up morning temping. Good luck with it!!

CharlotteCx · 29/11/2019 09:59

@Sylva123 yeah it really is awful. I feel terrible today because I said some nasty things out of anger and he just sat there taking it 😟🙈 but he's really angry with me today! I think the same as you! But why always at the crucial time to be doing it, it fails! Sooooo frustrating. I'm glad you got to have it last night. OH said to me if you hadn't of stood there screaming at me we might of been able to try again but I was just fed up of trying last night, my emotions got the better of me. TTC is so so so stressful! I wouldn't be like this if I didn't have a limited time scale. But after this Iv got 4 months left and ok it's still 4 months but that isn't a long time in the scheme of things!!

Yeah I'm glad it's still flashing & my ovia has changed my fertile window so I have got time. We'll try again tonight and hopefully all weekend! We'll see!

CharlotteCx · 29/11/2019 12:59

Just got my preseed so will start that tonight! Excited to see if it makes a difference!

Chichz · 29/11/2019 13:02

Glad I'm not the only one ladies! Haha.

I totally understand the frustration 're. DTD. We both seem to have been ill recently, one after the other, and it can feel like wasted time! I imagine it's much worse when you know you've definitely ovulated.

Got my letter through for our IVF consultation in January so feeling positive about that at least! Smile

CharlotteCx · 29/11/2019 14:14

It's a horrible feeling I just feel like I'm wasting my time taking Clomid if we're not dtd at the right times. But I'm going to stay calm tonight and hopefully it'll be fine.
