Hi all

I recently had a mmc from my first IVF cycle and am waiting for AF to appear (probably 3-4 weeks away) so we can do FET. I think we'll probably go for a natural cycle but am waiting for some information from my clinic to make a final decision. Had follow up consultation yesterday and will be having nurse consultation in the next couple of weeks hopefully. If anyone is happy to share their FET experiences I'd love to hear them. A little worried that a natural cycle might be the wrong choice. Anyway, if anyone fancies joining me for some support then join the thread.

So sorry to hear that @orangefolly, be kind to yourself. Hopefully the next one will be the one for you.

@orangefolly I'm so sorry. Everything crossed for next time.

@Marmite83 how are you feeling today? How long until your scan? I hate this weird limbo where we don't really know what's going on in there. I bought some more tests and might do one at the weekend even though I know it won't really tell me anything.

Marmite83 · 20/11/2019 09:33

I'm feeling much the same @LillyLeaf, just sore boobs still and I'm pretty much convinced it's not going to work out. Scan is booked for next Friday. I ordered more Clearblue digital yesterday on Amazon Prime so will do one of them tomorrow. When's your scan?

OP posts:
sometimesalways · 20/11/2019 09:43

@orangefolly I am so sorry to hear that

Aaaaaand my saga continues. Bloods yesterday showed that hCG still hadn't dropped enough. The nurse was pretty shocked when I told her the urine test at a&e didn't show pregnancy. So I am booked for a scan this afternoon to see if they can see anything. Back to being worried. Argh

sometimesalways · 20/11/2019 10:10

@Marmite83 I think some times hCG can take 3 days to double and that's also normal. Each pregnancy is different and it's true. Try not to worry too much! It sounds like you re v close to 3+ if all three lines are dark

mincedpea · 20/11/2019 12:46

@sometimesalways Oh dear, what a long saga, I'm sorry you've still not had a clear answer. Hopefully the scan will sort things out once and for all.

@orangefolly I'm really sorry about your result. It's never easy, but take care of yourself and hope you feel better soon.

@Roobles79 Good luck today!

Marmite83 · 20/11/2019 13:18

Oh no, @sometimesalways, I'm so sorry you're back in limbo. Really hope you get a definitive answer soon.

I had my gp appt today to be referred to the midwives (I won't bother booking in with them until after the scan, if everything goes ok). Explained about the test and she sent me for a blood test to check my hcg. I should hear back tomorrow. My Clearblue tests have also just arrived so I'll do another one tomorrow. I'm driving myself crazy! Sorry for whinging, don't have anyone else to share with atm.

BettySwoll0cks · 20/11/2019 14:17

Whinge away@Marmite83 - we all need to be able to vent somewhere.

For my last pregnancy, I used the mantra "today, I am pregnant". Things didn't look great (and in the end it was a mmc) but there was absolutely nothing I could do about it, so I would just try and focus on that, day-to-day.

Roobles79 · 20/11/2019 15:56

Sorry to hear @sometimesalways when will you have a scan? @marmite83 fingers crossed for you.

I had my collection this morn, I won't lie I cried before going in had worked myself up. Exactly a year ago my husband was having his bowel op for bowel cancer and I felt so emotional that we have to go through ivf. Nevermind, it was better than expected, no pain just could feel them rummaging around in there and feels a bit tender but that's it. They got 6 eggs, I thought that was low but she said it was fine. They are doing icsi as my hubby's sperm is frozen and they don't want to waste it. Still in bed milking it with the cat and the crown on Netflix. I made hubby put heated blanket on the bed too and chocolate stash aplenty xx

Russkispy · 20/11/2019 17:35

@sometimesalways so sorry your saga continues! This is so bloody hard! Raging on your behalf!

@Marmite83 fingers crossed for increased HCG!

@Roobles79 plenty of rest! Will you get a daily update on embryo development?

AFM, still plodding along. Wondering when AF arrives?! Then fly to my clinic for hysteroscopy and ERA tests and everything else they want to test me for.

LillyLeaf · 20/11/2019 18:50

@Marmite83 my scan is in 2 weeks, the wait is going to kill me. How the hell do people wait until 12 weeks (although a lot of people haven't been through what we have and see a positive test = baby)? Great that your go tested your HCG. I really wish I had another blood test.

@sometimesalways so sorry it continues, it's so unfair.

@Roobles79 it is such an emotional times. I found transfer incredibly emotional, it brought everything back. Fingers crossed for the next few days. I wish I was in bed with my cat and The Crown, milk it for as long as you can.

@Russkispy waiting for af is beyond annoying. Fingers crossed it will be soon.

I really hope I get some symptoms this time otherwise I'll just fear it's going to end as the other 2.

ginandtonicformeplease · 21/11/2019 08:34

@orangefolly I'm so sorry to hear about your result. It's always tough.

@Marmite83 and @LillyLeaf good luck for the scans!

As for me, my OTD is tomorrow. I've been at a conference in Europe this week which has really kept my mind off it. Back tonight then test tomorrow! I'm not hopeful though as I just don't feel it, whereas I knew when I was going to have a BFP (if that makes sense). Instead I've been working out when I could have the next FET Blush

LillyLeaf · 21/11/2019 08:47

@ginandtonicformeplease everything crossed for tomorrow.

Roobles79 · 21/11/2019 10:27

Had a call from the embryologist this morning, 6 eggs collected, 4 injected, 2 fertilised and at 1 cell stage. Feel a little bit disheartened there are only 2 really hope they make it. Anyone else with similar numbers and success? Should the cells have divided more by now? I'm such a mess! XX

Marmite83 · 21/11/2019 10:31

Well done for not testing before now @ginandtonicformeplease, good luck for tomorrow. I didn't feel pregnant at all this time but still got a bfp so don't lose all hope yet.

@LillyLeaf, I hate all the waiting, just trying to distract myself as much as possible in the hope that time goes a little faster.

I like your mantra @BettySwoll0cks Smile

Well done for getting through the transfer @Roobles79, milk the chilling for as long as you can, you deserve it!

How did your scan go @sometimesalways?

I did my Clearblue this morning (after an awful night of only about two hours sleep because I couldn't get to sleep and then when I finally did my dd woke up and wouldn't go back down!). Thankfully the Clearblue has gone up to 3+ so feeling slightly more positive but still quite anxious about the scan next Friday. I swear I feel a bit nauseous this morning but could be my imagination or just because I'm so tired. It's going to be a long day at work today!

OP posts:
Roobles79 · 21/11/2019 11:02

Had a call from the embryologist, 2 embryos from 6 eggs. Is that OK? Any positive stories with small numbers? Can't help feeling a bit disheartened but keeping positive. 🤞

Marmite83 · 21/11/2019 13:05

@Roobles79 I can understand you feeling disheartened but there's nothing to say they won't both make it to day 3 or 5 depending on the protocol you're going with. I looked up the stages of development and today should be 'fertilisation stage', tomorrow should apparently be 2-4 cells so I would assume from that that 1 cell today is absolutely on track. Fingers crossed for good news to say they're both developing well tomorrow.

OP posts:
updownleftrightstart · 21/11/2019 14:13

I'm so sorry those of you who have had BFNs. It's even worse when you're really feeling positive about it all.

@sometimesalways I hope the scan gave you more information and a way forward now

@Roobles79 I've heard so many stories of there only being one embryo and it working. It only takes one!

I'm beginning to wish I hadn't tested so early! Feels like I've been waiting for my scan for ages and still nearly a week to wait.

Is anyone else private and the costs just keep spiralling? I can't believe how much this is costing!

Gursharankaur28 · 21/11/2019 14:17

Hi everyone, hope it's going well for you all. I'm currently on my 2WW and don't know how to survive this! Anyone have any tips? X

Russkispy · 21/11/2019 15:04

@orangefolly sorry about BFN. Have you retested today?

@Roobles79 hope both embryos develop nicely from now on and make to day 5. Or 3, depending on your protocol. 🤞🏻

ginandtonicformeplease · 21/11/2019 18:56

@updownleftrightstart I know what you mean about costs - we've probably spent about 20k so far. That's one EC (going to freeze all) and then four FETs, one BFN, two resulting in MMC, and this one....I'll know tomorrow.

Part of the money draining for us is the clinic trying to find out why I've miscarried and what can be done to stop it happening again. Thinking about it, it's probably more than 20k now 🙈

ginandtonicformeplease · 21/11/2019 18:57

@Gursharankaur28 I find the best thing to do is keep busy to keep your mind of it.

Russkispy · 21/11/2019 19:25

@sometimesalways how are you? I'm still hoping to be cycle buddy with you in January
@ginandtonicformeplease everything crossed for you tomorrow!

LillyLeaf · 21/11/2019 19:37

@Roobles79 I see so many people on here with a few embryos that are successful, just try to focus on them.

@Marmite83 I think if I wasn't so tired I could distract myself but all I can think about is sleeping in at the weekend. Well i'll wake up at 3 or 4am then hopefully fall back to sleep at 6.30, that seems to be my routine at the moment. So pleased you got the 3+, only 1 more week to wait, you'll get through it.

@updownleftrightstart I had to pay for more drugs this week, it's so much money. Lubion alone is costing me £150 per week and I'm on lots more drugs. I know I'm going to want more scans too, so even more money.

@Gursharankaur28 just try to stay busy and don't Google (which I couldn't do). But it's going to be hard.

Roobles79 · 21/11/2019 20:29

@updownleftrightstart @lillyleaf @russkispy thank you it gives me hope 😘 I think they will do day 3 transfer instead of waiting til day 5, due to the low numbers. I guess that means it might be less chances again of implantation (I've been googling too much). Wish I could relax and take my mind off it. Bit sore today aswell from EC feel a bit bruised and battered! Sending love and hugs to all. This is bloody hard isn't it. Massive respect for everyone going through this and especially those who have been through it a few times. X
