Anyone on Letrozole?

rubywoo24 · 25/08/2019 21:46

Hi everyone

I have been prescribed 3 cycles of Letrozole and I have just started AF after a very very long few months. So quite excited to finally getting things going!
We're currently away and I do have my medication with me but not the leaflet that came with it. So just want to double check that I am taking it correctly:

  • do I count tomorrow as CD1 as AF only started at 9.30pm today
  • is there a specific time that I have to take the tablets, I think night time is recommended?
  • do I take both tablets together?

Any other help or advice would be much appreciated!

Ooh all the best! @Goingbacktokansascity

Goingbacktokansascity · 01/11/2019 15:09

@squirrelnutkins1 thank you, I’m actually nervous because I can’t deal with the disappointment of being told there’s no dominant follicle again

squirrelnutkins1 · 01/11/2019 15:39

This whole process is such a rollercoaster of emotions isn't it 😖😣 @Goingbacktokansascity

Goingbacktokansascity · 01/11/2019 16:28

@squirrelnutkins1 it really is, just one more thing to add to general stress of life 😂

unknownscot · 04/11/2019 22:24

@unknownscot Good luck!

I'm having my bloodtest today 😅 crossing fingers for ovulation 🤞

needsomebabydust · 05/11/2019 12:45

@unknownscot good luck! I get my blood results back on Thursday to see if ovulated but AF is nearly here so will be joining you on round 2 by the weekend!

beibikeiks · 05/11/2019 16:02

I got my blood test results already!! (benefit of private clinics)

Aaaaand I OVULATED 😁 I'm so happy

squirrelnutkins1 · 05/11/2019 16:12

@beibikeiks yay!

@Goingbacktokansascity how did you get on with your scan?

needsomebabydust · 05/11/2019 18:26

@beibikeiks that's great news

beibikeiks · 05/11/2019 21:09

Thank you guys 😊 makes this whole ordeal slightly more positive (4 years trying this month)

I've been making myself a bit crazy googling just now though 😬
The doctor told me my levels were 30 and that I responded well to the medication, but according to Google it doesn't seem very high... Ugghh

Oh well, we'll see what happens after the weekend

Hi, hope it’s ok to crash the thread, I have just started my 1st cycle with Letrozole. 3 days in, felt sick as a dog this morning. I have had absent periods since I came off the mini pill just over a year ago to TTC. No periods, no ovulation, finally seen a specialist last month. I live in south wales, and just have to get bloods done on day 21- no scans. Is it ovulation hormones they’re looking for in that? It seems my under active thyroid may have had a lot to do with it all. This month my Thyroid levels are correct so hoping it happens for us. I have 6 cycles worth. How is everyone getting on with it so far? X

unknownscot · 07/11/2019 14:05

@EveMD77 hi, it's great to have this wee group to hear other views and stories. It really helps. I'm on my second cycle and luckily don't have side effects apart from blurry vision occasionally.

The blood test checks to see if you have ovulated. I went on day 14 and 21 I ovulated by day 21.

It's so hard to get your head around it but this helps. I also have the glow app. It helps keep track and predict ovulation xxx

unknownscot · 14/11/2019 23:24

I'm CD11 and a crabby moody little shit - how do you guys feel around this time?

beibikeiks · 15/11/2019 17:54

@unknownscot

I'm on CD4 now in cycle#2
I don't remember how I was around CD11 but I sure was moody as hell in my tww 😂

I'm just feeling extremely tired now and getting hot flashes while taking the pills for these 5 days 😩

beibikeiks · 12/12/2019 11:50

How is everyone doing?
Any successes? 😊😊🤞🤞

EveMD77 · 12/12/2019 13:10

Used Letrozole for the first time last month. I guess my cycle is still trying to regulate after my thyroid meds weren’t right for a long time. Last month I had a/f for 21 days, doubtful I ovulated at all. Haven’t had results from my 21 day bloods as I don’t know who has them and my consultant changed in between. Its 2 weeks 4 days since last a/f finished, im CD 1 today, I’m either shouting or crying. Give me strength lol!!

beibikeiks · 12/12/2019 14:57

@EveMD77
Ugh, yeah. I've had this type of bleeding twice. Endless spotting/light bleeding for like 2 months or more and clearly no ovulation. In my case it was most likely caused by the supplements I tried (which contained Agnus Castus/Vitex in both cases).

I hope your cycle settles soon, it's such a pain going through this 😫

I'm currently CD31 on cycle#2 of Letrozole. AF should have arrived today according to my app, but I'm just way too nervous to take a test so I'm waiting a bit. I've been having some symptoms though, but trying my best not to get my hopes up.

unknownscot · 14/12/2019 10:31

I'm currently CD6 on cycle 3 of letrozole. Not sure how I feel about it all - want to just give up some days.

beibikeiks · 14/12/2019 16:31

@unknownscot
I feel you.... I'm CD1 on cycle#3 now.
I had some tiny spotting yesterday evening and it hit me so so hard this time. I was just so sure this was it.... And now AF is here and the pain and cramps are a constant reminder that it didn't work.

I sort of feel like this is it with Letrozole and that it won't work for us. I'm going to take the 3rd dose and see what happens this cycle, but I'm not hopeful anymore.

carleygh · 15/12/2019 19:50

Hi ladies I hope you don't mind me joining. I've been given Letrozole to start end of this month after 6 failed Clomid rounds. Hoping this may help x

squirrelnutkins1 · 15/12/2019 20:58

I took 4 rounds of Letrazole and then had a one month break as I had a really weird light period so didn't feel comfy as to when to start the next round of Letrazole. Weirdly enough I'm now 7 weeks preg. Don't give up hope.

carleygh · 15/12/2019 21:11

Aww @squirrelnutkins1 that's amazing! How long were you trying for?

squirrelnutkins1 · 15/12/2019 21:13

Thank you @carleygh this was cycle 27 so a long time! I had a lap in Jan for stage 3 endo as well. Been a rough few years but hopefully we'll have a sticky bean 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
