Hello - is anyone able to give me a rough idea of timescales for NHS IVF at the Nuffield/ Victoria Wing Woking - from submission of forms at Royal Surrey to first appointment?
Thanks!

@MissKittie thats a good news ! Hope all 3 go strong and you have a smooth transfer tomorrow. Is it an early morning transfer ? I have had FET transfers so mostly afternoon ones which made me so anxious the whole day.
Yes blood results came normal and I am starting next week. I hv been advised 150 Menoupur dose which i feel is low as compared to dosage mentioned on this thread. However last time on long cycle with 150, i had OHSS so i guess it a safe start.

Hey @duckhouse transfer went well on Saturday. Also have 2 frozen embryos so very happy. Glad it was in the morning, can’t imagine having to wait until the afternoon. Glad you blood test came back normal and you get to start again this week. I wouldn’t worry about the low dose of menopur everyone is so different. Hope it goes well. x

@MissKittie how is your TWW going? Really happy your have 2 frozen for the future!

@duckhouse how is your stimming going? I hope it is all going in the right direction.

I am not sure why but I dont get notifications(or I am not looking properly!) We had OTD last Friday and I had a positive test! So excited but beyond scared. I feel too aware of everything that can go wrong! We have our viability scan booked for the 13th so hopefully get a good news and it will help with the anxiety!

MissKittie · 23/09/2020 17:24

@UnicornPuff congrats that great news really hope you scan goes well and you have healthy pregnancy.

@duckhouse hope the stimming is going well?

Unfortunately we had another failed cycle, started bleeding heavily on day 7. New it was over but still did the pregnancy test which no surprise was a BFN this morning. Got 2 frozen embryos and will start the FET on my next cycle so just trying to keep positive. Drowning my sorrows in a large glass of wine!

@MissKittie I am really sorry to hear it didn't work. You deserve a really big couple of glasses of wine.

Do you get to speak to someone before your next FET to see if a change in something might help?

duckhouse · 23/09/2020 19:11

@MissKittie Sorry to hear about your BFN.. hope you are taking care of yourself and doing everything that cheers you up ! How long have you been advised to wait before commencing FET ?

@UnicornPuff Congratulations🎊 Happy for you that finally things are falling in place. I can understand the anxiety till viability scan as it is a major milestone.. hope all goes well.

I do not have a good news ! I overstimulated again even on a short cycle with 150 menupor (had same dose on long cycle and produced 29 eggs and with 3 FETs later none ended in positive preg). This time it seems worse with 34 follicles already on scan and high risk of OHSS again ( might be worse than last time!). Going in for egg collection this Friday and take things from there.. the reason to do this cycle was to have lesser eggs with quality and a fresh transfer (coz FETs dont work for me in past) but i guess have to be strong to manage the situation i am heading towards.. both emotionally and physically because of OHSS. I hope not to end up in emergency 😒

@duckhouse OMG that sounds hectic! Really hope your egg collection goes well and safely on Friday. Really wishing the best for you.

We have been advice I can start on the next cycle, though still waiting for the consultant to do a review.

@duckhouse If you are really high risk for OHSS will symptoms start to show before or after EC? Is there anything that can be done once you are over stimulated to minimise the risk? I really hope you don't have to go through OHSS. I also really hope you get some good quality little embryos from the bunch.

Thanks @UnicornPuff @MissKittie ...i am hoping the same that all goes well on friday.. dont have high hopes but having a good embryo will be a good surprise. OHSS kicks in after egg collection really.. last time i suffered for atleast 10 days but somehow managed not ending up in hospital. Lets see what happens this time.. last time i got 10 embryo fertilised fit for freezing with lots of 5 AA and 4 AA..but none turned into positive preg..dont really trust the grading and unfortunately clinic doesnt allow PSG ( even with Care rebranding)

UnicornPuff · 25/09/2020 05:22

@duckhouse good luck today. And I really hope either you are OHSS free or you are able to manage and it passes as quickly as possible.
Do you think their view on PSG testing will change once care have taken over for a while? And if so could you test the embryo after freezing?

Report
duckhouse · 26/09/2020 16:28

Thanks @UnicornPuff.. i am taking as much rest as possible and hoping to stay away from OHSS. Will go back to clinic on Monday for a scan to check for OHSS symptoms. Yes i do hope to try PSG testing at some point if possible to eliminate abnormal embryo. With my bad exp i have lost faith on grading system as all my failures hv been with top quality embryos.
Since it has been a while for me doing fresh cycle, may i ask how you felt a day after EC ? Bloated, exhausted, any pain ? I am sleeping most of the time 😐

Report
UnicornPuff · 26/09/2020 16:47

@duckhouse I was tired, but not sleeping all the time. I was really bloated and felt constipated. I dont remember too much pain, maybe a niggle until I tried to open my bowels and then it could be quite a sharp pain. Other than feeling tired/sleeping are you feeling ok and better than last time?
I can completely understand your loss of faith in the grading system with so many good looking embryos and none of them doing them sticking.
I noticed they had a new female consultant maybe she has different ideas. I would have thought that she would have worked at another centre before.

duckhouse · 26/09/2020 17:12

@UnicornPuff oh thats interesting to hear that there is a new consultant.. i do hope that CARE brings along some good staff with them who are experienced in multiple failure cases.

Yes i am feeling better than last time as far as i can recall. I am bloated and constipated too which is not comfortable but bloating is not as bad as it was a day before EC. Did you feel better before transfer day ? By when your body returned back to normal

Report
UnicornPuff · 26/09/2020 17:24

@duckhouse I felt better by transfer day. But I am still bloated and on/off constipated. I think that is the delightful progesterone pessaries!
Are you hoping for a fresh transfer depending on your scan on Monday? And if you are doing freeze all again will you get a consultation prior to starting. Because surely something needs to be done differently.

Report
duckhouse · 26/09/2020 19:25

@UnicornPuff Yes i would know by Mon on my OHSS status and accordingly clinic would decide if i qualify for fresh transfer. Though i have been told that most likely it will be freeze all as i had 26 eggs collected which js above the cut off for a fresh transfer. My frustration with the clinic is that they always say its my bad luck that i am unable to conceive with even top grade embryo and dont think anything different can be done.

When is your viability scan ? I am sure you are counting days.. how many weeks have you completed.. fingers crossed for you xx

Report
UnicornPuff · 27/09/2020 11:13

@duckhouse I hope the scan goes well. Are you hoping for a fresh transfer? Have you thought about looking at other clinics that do offer PGS testing. I cant remember where I read it but I am sure that some clinics also do more investigations on repeat failure to implant. I can only imagine how frustrated you must be when everything looks good but it doesn't work. And putting it down to bad luck is pretty unfair.
Our scan is on the 14th and I am counting the days. 5 weeks 4 days today and I have turned into a very anxious person. I think I am worse than in the 2ww! My Google search is literally 5weeks.........

Hi Ladies, how’s everyone doing?

@UnicornPuff hope your scan went well yesterday? Must have felt like the longest time to wait.

@duckhouse did you manage to have a fresh embryo transfer? Hope everything went well?

I’m starting our FET in a couple of days. Feeling very apprehensive as these are our last 2 frozen embryos.

@MissKittie are you having them both transfered back? And if so how do you feel about a double transfer That's? That's really exciting that you are starting again.

My scan went really well. It measured exactly to 8 weeks and had a little heart beat 💕
We have now been discharged to normal maternity!

@UnicornPuff I just looked at this thread out of interest and am so happy to see your news! We cycled at the same time at the Victoria Wing back in January and had similar outcomes. I managed to get pregnant naturally a few months later and am just about to enter my third trimester! Massive congrats to you and good luck to everyone else 🙂

@MissHoney85 thats amazing news! Congratulations! When is your due date?

@UnicornPuff thanks! Due mid January. I found the first trimester pretty stressful (probably not unusual for pregnancy after infertility) but have enjoyed the second much more. It's starting to get real now I'm going into the third!

@MissHoney85 I can only imagine the stress! I have found it hard to believe and I saw them put it in! I am glad that the stress starts to decline because I am constantly worrying right now! January will come so quickly! Did you find out the sex of your baby?

@UnicornPuff yes we are having a girl! I always imagined myself with boys but I'm getting used to the idea. Obviously I'm just pleased that everything seems (🤞) to be going well so far.

Yes I think once you've seen that heartbeat you can start to relax a bit. The worry never really goes away though - I guess that's motherhood!

@MissHoney85 thats lovely news. I always imagine myself with a girl and really think this will be a girl. At the moment we are not finding out but I will potentially change my mind and not be able to wait!
So pregnancy is the training for continous worry 🤣 I feel like we all have an extra course in this with IVF!
