Hello - is anyone able to give me a rough idea of timescales for NHS IVF at the Nuffield/ Victoria Wing Woking - from submission of forms at Royal Surrey to first appointment?

Hi ladies,

I am in the process of being referred as a new IVF patient so don't have a whole lot of information but I called this AM to find out what sort of waiting time I should expect, she said we could look at treatments in September or October, so I imagine those who have been referred already and/or started the process should be able to be seen sooner.

How is everyone doing? Does anyone have a date to start now? @MissKittie I hope your cycle went well🥰! I’m waiting for my scan on 18th August. So excited but nervous because of not knowing if everything is ok with the pregnancy or not. I thought they’ll do blood test or something g to check how things are going but it’s just the test then the scan. Anyway...good luck everyone

Congratulations that’s wonderful news!

Unfortunately our first round didn’t work, I bleed the last 3 days before testing so I knew it was going to be a BFN. Also had no embryos to freeze so have to start the process again. Waiting to hear back from the clinic with our review and what the next steps are. I honestly have no idea how some women keep trying cycle after cycle, they are so strong because I’m broken just after one.

Really hope your scan goes well and you and baby are healthy xx

@MissKittie I am sorry to hear it didn't work this time. I felt exactly the same with nothing to freeze. Take the time to look after yourself and wallow. It sounds stupid but it will feel better. After my BFN I didnt think I could ever do this again and now after a forced wait I am desperate to start again.

How is everyone else getting on? I am getting drugs delivered on Friday and then call on the first day which at a guess will be the 18th but I am sure when you want it, it is always late!

@UnicornPuff I’m glad you can start again and I hope everything will be fine for you. You must be so excited now. The wait it so hard but I’m trying my best to just work and have a normal life but it’s in my mind pretty much all day.

We ended up with 4 blastocyst, one 5AA was transferred and we have 3 more top quality frozen embryos which was an amazing news as we only stated with 6 matured and I was really worried that will end up with nothing.

How’s everyone doing? I’m starting my 2nd cycle. Got my 1st scan on Wednesday and have all my meds ready. I’ve been put on 450 menopur. Has anyone else been on that high dose?

@MissKittie we had good news last week. Everything was nice, I could see the baby’s little heart pumping. It’s was so nice. I’m not feeling the best but the nausea seems to get be this week. officially we left Nuffield/Care now and I’m waiting for my appointment at Frimley hospital.

I was on 150 menopur so I can’t comment on that but good luck with this cycle!

@MissKittie I had my baseline scan on Friday and started menopur sat. My first round i was on 300 and this time upped to 375. I think the hope is more stimulation more eggs as long as it is safe and will not cause OHSS. I am feeling really good. First round was long protocol and the buserelin really did not make me a happy person. This time with a short protocol (still early days) but I dont really feel any different at all!

@Sparklingreality thats really good news. I bet that was the most amazing feeling seeing your little ones heart beat. Was your other half able to some for that scan?

@UnicornPuff had my baseline scan today and did my first lot of injections this evening which were fine just not looking forward to the first fyremadel Injection on Friday morning. I was also on 300 first round which I felt fine. Will see what the next few days bring. When’s your next scan?

Hi@MissKittie glad to hear you started your next cycle..wish you good luck 😊 i am serving cooling off period before i start my next cycle as advised by my consultant given i had 7week m/c. Should hear soon when i can start next .. right now cooling my body and trying to stay healthy !

@MissKittie my next scan in on Monday. I think the fyremadel will be fine. It stings for couple of minutes after but it is keeping those eggs in place!

@duckhouse I am really sorry to hear you had a m/c. I hope your cooling off period goes quickly and you hear soon.

@MissKittie thank you, it's hard to be patient when I feel we're so close, but hopefully everything will speed up once we hit the 3-year mark, it sounds like they are a pretty effective clinic! Good luck to you and all the other ladies with your treatments x

Hi @UnicornPuff @MissKittie how are your cycles going ? Hope the meds are not too bad to cope up with.. i am hoping to start my next fresh cycle soon once all blood results come back. This will be my 4 th cycle with the clinic and this time its CARE - not quite sure if anything is different in procedure. I am told DH is allowed for egg collections and transfers now which is good news !

Really sorry to hear about you having m/c. I’m glad you able to start soon, hope all the blood test results come back quickly. Had my last scan this morning before egg collection on Monday. Haven’t noticed anything different regarding procedures since them changing over to Care. But very happy DH is allowed to come with for egg collection and transfer.
@UnicornPuff how’s your cycle going?

@MissKittie Sounds good that all is going well with you and hope egg collection goes well too. How many scans you had to go for besides baseline scan ? I have been told that providing a plan for fresh short cycle js difficult as everything is fluid. I hope there are minimal scans as taking time away from work is difficult for me. I plan to take off for egg collection and transfer anyways.

@duckhouse I had 2 scans after baseline this time round but last time I only had one. So it depends how quickly you respond to the meds. First time I was on 300 menopur and now on 450 menopur. So hopefully you won’t have to take too much time off work. Usually takes 1hr for scan and speaking to the nurse but today it took 1hr30.

@duckhouse this is my second cycle so can't compare too much as to reduce footfall I think they are putting everyone they can on short protocol. I have found I have had less appointments as they predicted how long I would need to stim from the first. So baseline and one scan and then I had EC on Wednesday. They did recommend self isolating from the first scan till EC but also said they wouldn't be policing it if you couldn't get time off work.
Do you think you will be able to start with this AF?

@MissKittie good luck for Monday. It feels like time seems to be jumping to me! I am hoping the 2ww will be just as quick!

@UnicornPuff Yes i do plan to start with this AF subjected to blood tests coming all fine. I will know by next week meanwhile eating healthy and staying calm is my motto. I generally get really anxious with my ivf starting 😬 Good luck for ET and wish all goes well 🤞🤞 Keep us posted

I had my transfer today. Because of embryo quality on our first cycle the plan was for a double transfer. However the quality has improved lots and we had a single transfer and they have frozen one. I also have one that might catch up and will be suitable for the freezer if it does. I didn't think we would ever be in this position so I am floating today!

Hi @duckhouse,I have embryo transfer tomorrow. As of Wednesday I have 3 a grade embryos which last time I only had 1 a grade 2 others that were average and didn’t make it. So hoping that all 3 are still good tomorrow. Just enjoyed a full body massage so feeling nice and relax. Did you get your blood test results? Hope you get to start soon.
