Hi everyone,

Thought I'd start a thread for those of us undergoing fertility treatment in July/August.

I'm (hopefully) having a FET late July/early August, anyone else want to hop on this thread for the ride?

Sorry to hear that @orangefolly, I hope you get some to freeze. I've heard FET success rates are better than fresh so hopefully will all work out in the end.

Fingers crossed for good news tomorrow @confused107. Progesterone pessaries are lovely aren't they!

I'm currently waiting for a phone call to tell me how to proceed. I have a really bad tummy today, not sure if it's the meds or I've just eaten something dodgy. Supposed to be out for afternoon tea this afternoon, don't know what to do!

TinyPaws · 28/07/2019 14:45

@Dlpdep Exciting! I presume you'll trigger tonight? Which one will you be taking?

@Marmite83 It sounds like everything's progressing well, will you trigger tonight too?

@Caityprice I'm not a medical professional but that sounds like a very good number to me. You don't want too many.

@confused107 Glad you are feeling a bit better. Puppy has had 2 outside poos today (with me sneakily observing from the kitchen window), very pleased with that.

@orangefolly So sorry to hear about your overly high progesterone, do they know why that's happening? My old clinic didn't do any bloods at all (not sure if the new one does as I've not had a fresh cycle with them). I'm keeping everything crossed you get some nice embryos to freeze.

@orangefolly - sorry to hear your progesterone is too high. I always had the opposite problem. Hopefully all will go well for you, everything crossed.

@confused107 is it cyclogest you are on? I had those for my first pregnancy and while they are a pain in the ass (excuse the pun) they also helped me to successfully carry a baby past my danger zone so I’m a big fan.

@TinyPaws I do indeed trigger tonight with otrivelle. Looking forward to a night without any stabbing tomorrow night. I’m a bit nervous that I’ll come out with all sorts of rubbish while sedated. I’d much rather be knocked out altogether.

@Marmite83 hope the tummy is feeling better and it was something you ate.

My puppy just banged on the door to let me know she needed to go outside to pee so I am marvelling at my dog whisperer dog parenting skills at the moment. It won’t last!

Bailey2017 · 29/07/2019 09:28

@jemimafuddleduck
Hi I've just read your thread and can't find out to see how you have got on? I'm 7days post 5 day FET today but I'm to scared to test yet incase it's a BFN.

confused107 · 29/07/2019 10:03

@Marmite83 hope you are feeling better today

@TinyPaws your puppy sounds amazing. Hope the trigger went ok

@Dlpdep do you want to come train my dog? Yes, cyclogest. I'm pleased to hear a success story and willing to do anything that improves are chances

@orangefolly I hope your progesterone settles down

Just had an update from the clinic. Of the 3 all have divided. Two are at the stage they would expect and a good quality but the third is a little behind. They think that one might not make it. Obviously there is still a chance it could all go wrong, but they are optimistic for transfer tomorrow morning. I'm massively relieved as I had convinced myself it was all over. Fingers crossed I don't get another call between now and tomorrow morning

Marmite83 · 29/07/2019 10:29

That's great news @confused107! Good luck for transfer tomorrow.

I triggered last night with Gonasi so enjoying a day off injections today. Tummy is still not great but I asked yesterday and they said it was fine to take Immodium so that was a relief. Egg collection is scheduled for tomorrow morning. We have to be in central London for 8.30am tomorrow which should be interesting! Currently trying to find bookable car parking in Farringdon.

Fingers crossed for you @Bailey2017

orangefolly · 29/07/2019 12:35

Eek good luck for tomorrow @Marmite83 and @Confused107 Exciting!

My scan went well today - 17 follicles at a good size now, so doing the trigger tonight. Fingers crossed the blood tests come back alright and I don't ovulate early this time. So nervous after the last time!!!

hgdg2018 · 29/07/2019 13:45

@confused107 just been reading this thread and oddly enough sounds as though we have the same going on!

I had my egg collection on Thursday - they managed to get 11 eggs. 8 injected but only 3 fertilised. They called this morning and said that the 3rd one was falling behind and so we now have 2 left which are good quality. Fingers crossed for our transfer tomorrow! Mine is 10.30am!

Marmite83 · 29/07/2019 13:51

What happened last time @orangefolly? I'm actually really nervous that I'll ovulate before they get in there because they were worried about my LH and progesterone levels earlier in the cycle.

confused107 · 29/07/2019 14:19

@hgdg2018 that's spooky, Ive been told to go in at 10.30 tomorrow ready for the procedure at 11. How are you feeling? I'm just so relieved that there is likely to be something to put back in. I've got acupuncture after work tonight then again after the procedure tomorrow which will hopefully relax me

Best of luck with it. I'm hoping this is a good sign for us both and I feel much less alone

orangefolly · 29/07/2019 14:32

Don't worry @Marmite83 it's quite rare apparently. And they will be keeping a good eye on you because of the earlier concerns.

But was a horrible shock last time - went to sleep thinking I had 22 follicles to collect and woke up to be told they could only get 6, and only 2 ended up being mature. They found a load of fluid in my abdomen and concluded that the 16 biggest follicles had already ruptured and I'd released the eggs. They couldn't find a definitive reason why, although privately I think they kept me stimming for too long.

hgdg2018 · 29/07/2019 14:33

@confused107 that is spooky! I have to be there at 10am for procedure at 10.30. I am feeling very bloated that i look pregnant, oh the irony with that!! I feel OK after having them confirm that we still have 2 left! I was literally feeling sick all weekend think that we'd have none left, don't know why! Defo need to start being more positive but it's so hard and draining!!

I didn't get chance to book in for acupunture as I only read it on here last week but I am going to do some light yoga and meditation to try and relax my body as much as I can! (easier said than done!!)

I feel much better reading your story but it is very spooky that they are the same!

sometimesalways · 29/07/2019 14:41

Ooh quite a few big events tomorrow, that's amazing @hgdg2018 @orangefolly @Marmite83 you are one step closer to the goal. Keeping fingers crossed for all of you

Let us know how it all goes!

Marmite83 · 29/07/2019 14:54

Oh @orangefolly that must've been very upsetting, thank you for sharing your experience. I guess there's isn't much I can do but wait and see what they manage to get tomorrow. I've tried not to focus too much on the specific number of follicles and just hoping they at least get some mature eggs. I'm also a little worried about the quality of dh sample but hopefully all will be ok. I'm feeling quite nervous now.

Thanks @sometimesalways Smile

Bailey2017 · 29/07/2019 15:34

@Marmite83 thank you it's so hard I nearly caved in when I woke up to do a test. I'm on night shifts and knew I wouldn't beable to to get back to sleep if I did! Good luck to you also x

Caityprice · 29/07/2019 18:56

Massive fingers crossed for you all tomorrow @confused107 @Marmite83 @hgdg2018

@Bailey2017 - here’s to lots of long, deep breaths until you can do a test :)

confused107 · 29/07/2019 19:51

@hgdg2018 I felt the same this weekend. In general I am finding it hard to balance being positive but not getting my hopes up

Good luck tomorrow everyone

sometimesalways · 29/07/2019 22:55

Ok so is anyone on lentogest injections? Do they hurt like a Sad or am I doing something wrong? I didn't have them in my protocol for my first (fresh) cycle so they are new to me. I am totally cool with subcutaneous injections but these new one... just ouch! Any tips?

hgdg2018 · 30/07/2019 08:27

Had a call this morning and the final 2 we had have not cultured on enough to be able to transfer today so there's nothing they can do. 😔

orangefolly · 30/07/2019 08:32

@sometimesalways I had it for my last pregnancy after FET - it's the progesterone in oil intramuscular injections, right? They definitely hurt a bit more than the ones you do in your tummy, but I found placement is key - if it's too low down, on the actual bum cheek, it is much more painful and I found it gave me cramps afterwards too. If it's higher up on the lower back I found it went in a lot better and less painful. It needs to be in the top outer quarter of your bum, higher than the crack. Also, try to warm the oil up a bit before the injection - it goes in easier if warm.

@Marmite83 @confused107 @hgdg2018 good luck today!

Parkandride · 30/07/2019 08:37

So sorry @hgdg2018, are you ok?

Good luck today @confused107 and @Marmite83

Going to have the conversation with work today regarding our cycle in a couple of weeks, hope I don't cry...

orangefolly · 30/07/2019 08:42

Oh no @hgdg2018 so sorry - didn't see your message when I posted. That really sucks. Take care of yourself today Flowers

sometimesalways · 30/07/2019 08:46

Oh no @hgdg2018 I am so sorry! Hope you are ok

Thank you @orangefolly I will try that next time. I tried the thigh first, perhaps bum is easier... I just somehow (perversely?) prefer to do them myself, and bum would obviously be tricky

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 30/07/2019 08:48

Sorry everyone just catching up.

@hgdg2018 I’m so sorry. Please take some time to look after yourself it’s such a bloody tough process

Good luck to all those with appointments today. Hope all goes well.

Not much new with me. It’s my official test day tomorrow and I’m absolutely petrified. 😱

Caityprice · 30/07/2019 08:54

@hgdg2018 I am so so sad for you. Biggest hugs.
