Hi everyone,

Thought I'd start a thread for those of us undergoing fertility treatment in July/August.

I'm (hopefully) having a FET late July/early August, anyone else want to hop on this thread for the ride?

@hgdg2018 I'm so so sorry. Please be kind to yourself. Lots of love xx

My two were an E and F grade so both have gone back in. Nothing for the freezer. It feels odd that the treatments all over, it's going to be a long couple of weeks

Thinking of everyone else having treatments and appointments today

Bailey2017 · 30/07/2019 12:37

@hgdg2018 so sorry they didn't make it. Don't give up on your baby and try to stay strong its so hard this experience. Mentally and physically. Big hugs xxx

@whatelsecouldibecalled good luck for tomorrow ill be one day after you. Not officially im testing one day early so I can mentally prepare myself as I have stuff do do on test day and don't want to be moping about. I got some twinges yesterday. Taking it as a good sign hopefully.

TinyPaws · 30/07/2019 12:59

@Dlpdep Please can you train my puppy? She's getting quite good at doing wees outside but she likes nothing more than to poo on the garage floor. She will literally hold it in for hours until she sees her opportunity! Hope you enjoyed your needle free day and good luck for egg collection today!

@Bailey2017 You've done so well to hold out on testing this long! Fingers, toes arms and legs crossed for you when you do test!

@confused107 Congratulations on reaching embryo transfer and good luck for the 2WW. Do you have anything planned to distract you?

@sometimesalways No useful tips but just googled lentogest and that does look sore!

@hgdg2018 I'm so sorry, that's really tough. Take care of yourself. x

@Parkandride Hope your employers are supportive - good luck!

@Whatelsecouldibecalled Good luck for tomorrow! Hang in there - not long to go now!

I'm plodding along waiting for transfer on Friday (assuming our embryo survives the thaw that is). The puppy is a delight - becoming much more confident, separation training is going well, toilet training not so much. I've got lots of energy - I think due to the prednisolone, and I also did my first Inhixa injection yesterday - it was sore! Sub cut injection like the Menopur and burserelin were but bigger needle and burns as it goes in. So far I'm finding FET less stressful and intense than my fresh cycle was.

I’m just home from eggs collection and have taken to the bed. It was more painful than I expected, glad to have it over with. They managed to collect 19, but some were immature so not expecting them all to make it to fertilisation. They will do half IVF and half ICSI. I’ll know tomorrow how they got on overnight. In for a scan on Friday to see if they can do a fresh transfer or not. If so I will be doing the transfer on Sunday.

Best of luck to everyone else today. Hgdg, I’m so sorry to see your update. You will get there. I ran into someone I know in the clinic today, they are on their second go, the advice she gave me was to manage my expectations.

My puppy, while happy to do all of her toileting outside on dry days, is not happy to toilet outside at all on wet days! The little monkey!

I’m off to snooze and watch rubbish on TV for the day.

Bailey2017 · 30/07/2019 13:16

@TinyPaws I know I'm very proud of myself lol. Good luck for Friday. Fingers crossed the thawing stage goes OK. There's only a 10% of them not making thawing stage. We was one of the unlucky ones. It never crossed our mind that it could happen. When they rang us at 9am to tel us their about to thaw our embryo and it takes 2 hours and by 1pm we hadnt heard anything I knew something wasn't right and phoned up and I was right they had had to phaw our last and only one as the other hadn't shown any signs of life. So we were pretty gutted but tried to stay positive which was hard. It only takes one so they say. It's all just luck of the draw or so it seems. This grading system doesn't seem to make it any better or worse. If it sticks it sticks.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 30/07/2019 14:13

@bailey2017 what sort of twinges have you had??? I’ve got o idea what tomorrow will bring as so much can be down to the drugs 🙈

Caityprice · 30/07/2019 15:42

I’m triggering tonight! Egg collection Thursday. Suddenly very, very nervous. It all feels kind of surreal, like I’m in the plot of a movie rather than it being my life. Anyone else feel like that?

Fingers crossed and good vibes for everyone else over the next few days, whether it’s eggs coming out, going in, planning next cycles or hopefully some BFPs :)

Bailey2017 · 30/07/2019 17:45

@whatelsecouldibecalled it's hard to explain but last night they were abit sharp like little staps if that makes sense Confused I'm so excited for you! But scared at the same time. I would have tested tomorrow but I'm at my neices 6th birthday party and the thought of getting a negative then having to be surrounded by children!

Marmite83 · 30/07/2019 18:40

Fingers crossed for good news tomorrow @Dlpdep. Sounds like we're on the same timeline. I had 16 eggs collected this morning. They rang to ask if we wanted to do ICSI or not but also said my dh sample was fine so we decided not to. We did consider half and half but I'd rather save the money towards future rounds if needed. Really hope we made the right decision! We have a scan on Friday too and embryo transfer either that afternoon or Sunday dependent on how things are progressing. That's a assuming we get some embryos!

This whole experience feels totally surreal to me @Caityprice

So sorry to hear that @hgdg2018, life can be very unfair.

Good luck for Friday @TinyPaws, I have to start taking Inhixa tonight, not looking forward to it.

Good luck @Bailey2017 and @Whatelsecouldibecalled, hoping for some beautiful bfps

Hope the 2ww goes quickly for you @confused107

Dlpdep · 31/07/2019 09:00

So got a call this morning and out of the 19, 9 have fertilised, both IVF and ICSI. I’m hoping that’s ok. I don’t remember the fall off levels from here on in.

Marmite83 · 31/07/2019 09:35

9 sounds like a great number @Dlpdep, I'm nervously awaiting a phonecall to tell me if we have any embryos. Fingers crossed for you that your embryos develop nicely.

sometimesalways · 31/07/2019 10:19

9 is amazing number @Dlpdep it's great news!

sometimesalways · 31/07/2019 10:25

I have my FET scheduled for this afternoon. I have been quite calm at the prospect so far but getting a little nervous now! Also not looking forward to the TWW...

Caityprice · 31/07/2019 10:50

@Dlpdep - 9 sounds great!!
@Marmite83 - fingers crossed for embryos.
@sometimesalways - good luck with the transfer. Have you got a post-transfer plan of stuff to do/distract you?

sometimesalways · 31/07/2019 10:57

@Caityprice oh thank you! I have a family holiday booked this weekend which is nice. It's a beach holiday though so a bit worried about having all my injection bruises and patches on display. Not the worst of problems though, I shouldn't be complaining and feel lucky I got this far!

Caityprice · 31/07/2019 11:05

@sometimesalways - that sounds lovely! Except lol, the bruises in a bikini! I never even thought of that. But you know what, anyone who has been through the process will recognise them and give you huge respect, and for anyone else, just prepare a great story where you’re training for a martial arts competition or something...
or buy a tankini and board shorts on next day delivery if you think you’ll feel too self conscious :) but genuinely, they’re just signs you’re bad-ass and brave.

sometimesalways · 31/07/2019 11:09

@Caityprice Grin haha that made me laugh! Thank you, I would have never thought of the martial arts excuse! But seriously, thank you though. We are all heroes for even just attempting to go through this whole ivf business,

sometimesalways · 31/07/2019 11:22

(@Caityprice ps sorry, I meant, laugh, cause I am not at all sporty and I am not sure i can pull off martial arts. And also your amazingly kind words made me smile and I needed it)

Caityprice · 31/07/2019 11:26

Grin no problem at all!! Plus laughter is good for embryos I’m told ;)

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 31/07/2019 11:47

BFP this morning!!!! Can’t believe it!

sometimesalways · 31/07/2019 11:56

Oh my goodness @Whatelsecouldibecalled what amazing news! Congratulations! You are giving us all hope

Marmite83 · 31/07/2019 11:56

Such wonderful news @Whatelsecouldibecalled congratulations!!

My clinic rang, we got 11 embryos Grin, next update will be on Friday so just crossing everything for now.

Caityprice · 31/07/2019 12:04

@sometimesalways - CONGRATS!!!!
@marmite83 - 11! Amazing news!! :)

Dlpdep · 31/07/2019 13:09

Lots of good news here today!
@Marmite83 that’s absolutely fantastic! Best of luck for the scan on Friday!
@sometimesalways huge congrats!

TinyPaws · 31/07/2019 13:19

@Bailey2017 My clinic told me 95% chance of a successful thaw, 5% chance of not surviving. Our embryo is a 5BB but I'm not too hung up on grading as I've heard of extremely low grade embryos producing healthy babies and perfect graded embryos failing to implant or undergoing PGS testing and being found chromasomally abnormal. When will you test?

@Caityprice Good luck for egg collection tomorrow! What did you trigger with?

@Marmite83 @Dlpdep 9/11 embryos are excellent numbers. Fingers crossed they all develop nicely. Fall off rates seem to vary massively but with such good numbers to start with you're both looking to be in great positions.

@sometimesalways Good luck for ET today and enjoy your holiday!

@Whatelsecouldibecalled Mega congrats! I hope you're the first of many on this thread!
