Hi everyone,

Thought I'd start a thread for those of us undergoing fertility treatment in July/August.

I'm (hopefully) having a FET late July/early August, anyone else want to hop on this thread for the ride?

@FingersXssd83 that’s great you have a date for the transfer! Seems a while off, but probably won’t go half as slowly as once you’ve got the embryo on board! Hope you got some nice things planned for that.

@confused107 how are you feeling today? Hope it was just the heat making you feel rubbish!

@TinyPaws once I’ve started the drugs I’m away for a week doing some singing so I can’t wait for that - it’ll really cheer me up.
How are you doing today? I hope the drugs aren’t causing too many issues.

sometimesalways · 08/07/2019 14:33

@Bruce2 so sorry to hear that! It's so tough, you are amazing

sometimesalways · 08/07/2019 14:33

buserelin is driving me crazy today. Just makes me so anxious! Stopped norethisterone yesterday so waiting game for AF now... hope it comes quickly so we can do the baseline scan and get the main gig started

TinyPaws · 08/07/2019 19:35

@FingersXssd83 How exciting to have a transfer date booked in, even if it is a little way away. Have you got anything planned to help pass the time?

@Bruce2 Sorry to hear that. Was it definitely AF?

@sometimesalways Welcome! We're on very similar timings - I take my last northisterone tomorrow. Sorry you're finding the buserelin tough. My mood is also affected by buserelin, although I'm on the injections. When will your baseline scan take place? How lovely to have a healthy child through IVF! Fingers crossed for another for you.

@confused107 Hope you had a nice relaxing Sunday and are feeling a bit better today. This heat is tough. I had a lovely weekend in the sun but ended up getting a bit burned so sleeping is uncomfortable.

@Viletta Welcome! I don't think the prednisolone/aspirin is standard but it seems pretty common from what I've heard. I'm on prednisolone and enoxaparin for this cycle. Are you doing this cycle overseas or in the UK? Fingers crossed AF comes quickly! It's horrible waiting and not being able to do anything.

@Brambles7 Thanks for asking, I'm doing OK. I'm quite moody and sensitive but other than that fine. From previous experience the worst is yet to come. Singing sounds excellent, hope you enjoy!

I'm plodding along taking northisterone, doxycycline and buserelin. Booked my baseline scan on the 16th July and arranged my embryo transport for 17th July (which I will be doing myself - eek!). I also ordered my enoxaparin injections - phoned around a few places and Asda was the cheapest so went with them.

I've also started having really bizarre dreams. Not sure if it's the heat or the drugs or both, but seriously weird. Also had a few early pregnancy dreams which I'm hoping is a good omen!

Hi how is everyone doing?

I'm feeling loads better thank you @TinyPaws. Interestingly at my scan today the nurse mentioned that the burselin is a dehydrator, which probably accounts for most of my symptoms. So I am upping the water. I don't know if that's any use to anyone else suffering?

I had my baseline scan today and my lining was thin enough, and my ovaries switched off enough (Though not sure how switched on they have been for the last two years we have been trying to conceive tbh!) to proceed. So tomorrow I start injecting the Gonal as well as the Burselin. Due to my low AMH I'm on the highest dose of 450 so I'm expecting a tough couple of weeks but plan on keeping going and exercising as much as I can through it. Any tips?

Hope everyone else is doing ok

sometimesalways · 09/07/2019 18:39

@TinyPaws thank you, and fingers crossed for all of us! Hope we all have good news, and we will - it's important to stay positive. Sorry buserelin in affecting your mood too... it's annoying isn't it. I was quite relaxed with my first round and made sure I laughed a lot and had down time, so aiming for the same this time. Somehow more stressed this time round, but there was a study done that found that laughter helped implantation Smile

I haven't had my baseline booked yet, they are waiting for my period to start before they book me in.

Curious to see when everyone's period starts after stopping norethisterone. I had the last one on Sunday but nothing yet. Although it feels imminent iykwim

@confused107 good luck! Does exercise help? I should do more of that... Hope you're feeling ok with the new injections

Celledora · 09/07/2019 18:43

Joining 👋 FET hopefully early August. Crossed fingers for and holding hands with everyone. Let’s do this 👊

Viletta · 09/07/2019 22:23

@TinyPaws thank you! AF came as expected so starting my meds tomorrow. I feel so unprepared, I haven't been taken any vitamins lately.. I will probably buy new folic acid as the one that I keep taking before cycling is actually 4 years old! After my last failed cycle in April I just decided to have a rest and forgot about the whole thing.. will get my vitamin d and omega from the bedside table.. a bit late! I'm going to do ultrasounds in the UK and transfer in Czech where my two lovely frosties reside:)

How are you doing?

orangefolly · 10/07/2019 08:08

Hi everyone! I had my scan yesterday and ovaries were looking quiet and lining thin. So now I've stopped the pill and onto nafarelin. All being well I'll start stimming next Wed (think our protocols must be a bit different @confused107)

@sometimesalways I am on buserelin's cousin now, and it makes me feel terribly depressed whenever I take it! Hop that will ease off when I start stimming.

Hope you're all feeling good today!

confused107 · 10/07/2019 11:02

@orangefolly looks like our timings are similar but protocols different. I'm on long protocol with different drugs to you. I guess we just have to trust that what they suggest is the best for us individually (must not google and self diagnose/ prescribe!)

@Viletta great news that you can start the meds. I'm interested in your experiences overseas as it might be something we consider in the future

@Celledora welcome!

@sometimesalways laughter sounds like a much better plan for me than cutting our sugar! I'll try and remember this. Not sure if the exercise makes any difference but it does improve my mental health, which i feel is being tested! I plan on giving up all exercise except dog walks if I'm lucky enough to get to the TWW

@TinyPaws sorry to hear about the dreams. I have no idea if it's a common side effect but this is a stressful time. Be kind to yourself

Not looking forward to my two injections tonight Sad but I'm trying to stay as positive as I can. In two weeks time all the injections will be over (hopefully) and it will either be totally worth it, or we have lost nothing (apart from money and sanity) for trying

TinyPaws · 10/07/2019 18:56

Glad you're feeling better @confused107 and thanks for the water tip - it's helped! Glad the baseline went well. I felt 1000% better as soon as I started the stims, just a tiny bit bloated towards the end. I don't actually mind the injections much - they're a faff but at least I feel like I'm doing something!

@sometimesalways Any sign of your period yet? I took my last northisterone last night and feeling a bit twingy but nothing yet. The patient information leaflet says it normally takes 2-3 days but I don't know if the buserelin will affect that at all?

@Celledora Welcome and good luck!

@orangefolly Glad the baseline went well and hope you don't have too many side effects from the nafarelin!

OP posts:
orangefolly · 10/07/2019 21:44

Oh I've been absolutely hit with the hormone train today, feel dreadful already. I hate nafarelin! Still, only a week til I'm on the stims.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 11/07/2019 07:20

Hi can I join please? Had my egg collection on 8th May but had to freeze all due to OHSS.

Just had lining scan on Monday and all looking good so FET booked for 18th! Feeling very nervous.

I think we might be at similar stages @FingersXssd83? I also recognise your user name from other threads!

Good luck everyone

Marmite83 · 11/07/2019 10:25

Hope you're feeling a little better today @orangefolly.

Welcome @Whatelsecouldibecalled, good luck for the FET.

CD28 for me today so I POAS as advised by my clinic and got a bfn, no major surprise there. I'll do another one on Sun or Mon just to be sure but it looks like I'll be starting the stims late next week. Feeling quite nervous now...

Just out of interest, does anyone on here get their meds from Asda and willing to share their experience? I'm considering getting some of my meds from them as they're quite a lot cheaper but they said they don't supply syringes so I guess I would need to get the syringes from my clinic which might balance the cost saving for the injectable meds out.

TinyPaws · 11/07/2019 19:32

@orangefolly So sorry to hear that. How many more days until you can stim?

@Whatelsecouldibecalled Welcome! So exciting to have a date already! How many are you transferring and do you have more in the freezer? Fingers crossed for you!

@Marmite83 Are you doing short protocol? (Apologies if you've already said and I forgot). I got my clexane from Asda but they are pre filled syringes so I don't need to buy any syringes separately. A quick google showed plenty of online sellers offering inexpensive syringes.

As for me, I need to rant. I feel DREADFUL. Been woken up several nights running with hot sweats and my dreams are getting worse (last night dreamed a horrible little maggoty thing was trying to burrow into my arm). I'm tired and irritable and so ready to start oestrogen after my scan on Tuesday. Haven't bled yet so my doom-mongering brain-on-burserelin is obviously convinced that I won't bleed and my lining won't be think and I'll have to extend down-reg. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen.

OP posts:
sometimesalways · 11/07/2019 20:08

@TinyPaws @orangefolly I am sorry you are not feeling well! Not much to do but wait and keep reminding ourselves that it will be over soon...

@TinyPaws my period started yesterday afternoon and my baseline scan is now booked for tomorrow. I am nervous but hopefully things will go ok. So don't worry - it's only been one day for you so far, right? it took me 3 days. It doesn't mean anything is wrong, 2-3 days is totally normal... even more than that I think actually.

I also found out today that my thyroid function and antibodies numbers are off so this might be a cause for my infertility. I guess it's good to know.

I will report back after my scan.

Good luck everyone and stay strong! Watch a comedy tonight Smile that's my plan

sometimesalways · 11/07/2019 20:26

...and can I just say I have no idea why the first bit there is in bold. I didn't mean it to! Sorry

Viletta · 11/07/2019 23:31

@confused107 I really enjoyed our overseas experience, feels a bit like a holiday and with flights and hotel still cheaper than the UK.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 12/07/2019 00:00

@TinyPaws thanks! We are transferring 1 embryo. We have 5 top quality day 5 blasts in the freezer. Starting to feel very nervous now. Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight!

sometimesalways · 12/07/2019 15:55

@TinyPaws had your period started? I had my baseline scan today and all seems ok so starting progynova tomorrow. Next scan booked for 22nd. And so it begins! Aaaah

Marmite83 · 12/07/2019 16:26

@TinyPaws, yep, I'm doing short protocol. I rang the clinic today and they've booked me an appointment for Thurs and Fri next week so I can have my baseline scan on whichever one is CD2. Sorry to hear you've been having a crappy time with Buserelin, I hope af comes soon for you.

@Whatelsecouldibecalled 5 top quality day 5 blasts is fantastic!

TinyPaws · 12/07/2019 16:41

@sometimesalways Glad the scan went well! I have high TGAb and TPO antibodies, normal thyroid hormone levels though (although I suspect that might change in pregnancy). Will you be put on any thyroxine?

@sometimesalways @Marmite83 @WhatelsecouldIbecalled Thanks for the good wishes. No sign of a bleed yet but I slept slightly better last night so feeling a bit more human today.

@WhatelsecouldIbecalled Lovely to have so many blastocysts! Although fingers crossed it only takes one for you!

OP posts:
Whatelsecouldibecalled · 12/07/2019 22:07

@Marmite83 and @TinyPaws yes we are very lucky but hopefully it will only take one! 🤞

@sometimesalways I’m three weeks into progynova. Hope it’s ok for you

Thund4rcat · 12/07/2019 23:44

Hello, I'm back here again unfortunately. I've had two fresh cycles, which resulted in one chemical pregnancy then a miscarriage at 9 weeks, after suffering hyperemesis.

I have 5 embryos in the freezer, and am hoping to have a FET in August I think. My miscarriage was in May, my June period was 2 weeks late, and I have a blood test on 19th July to see if I'm ovulating normally again and what protocol I should go on.

I know nothing about FET, what the options are or how long it takes.

@Brambles7 I remember you from earlier threads I think, sorry we are both having to do this again.

Good luck everyone.

Brambles7 · 13/07/2019 09:02

@TinyPaws sorry you’re feeling so rubbish on the drugs, hope it settles down for you pronto as your body adjusts.

@Whatelsecouldibecalled fingers crossed it only needs one of those lovely blastocysts to make it!

@sometimesalways glad your scan went well. Have they said anymore about the thyroid levels? I’m under active so have been taking levothyroxine for the last 2 years. It’s given me more energy at least.

@Thund4rcat hello again, sorry to see you on another thread and so sorry to hear you had a miscarriage too. Have they talked with you about how to help that another time? Fingers crossed that the FET will be your lucky one.
All I know about FET is just from listening to the BFN podcasts which I’ve found interesting. But then again it probably depends on the clinic as to how they approach it as well.

We’re having to do another fresh as I didn’t get any in the freezer first time. We had 2 put back which weren’t great quality but sadly it didn’t work. This time they plan to up dosage of the stimming as I was quite slow responding to that last time.
